Besides centralized control of railway signal equipment, the station CTC equipment can also provide functions of scheduling commands, operation plans, construction maintenance and the like for station operators on duty.
However, in some cases, such as western remote railway lines, many stations are unmanned stations, the functions provided by the current systems are not used by people, in some stations with less busy lines, some stations with simple transportation operations are rarely used by the functions provided by the systems, and with the aid of the systems, the dispatcher can complete the operations of the stations at the center. That is, these stations need only implement the centralized control function, and do not need to implement other functions such as scheduling commands, operation plans, and the like. Although these stations and busy trunk stations are different in demand, they are basically consistent in terms of station equipment configuration, it is obvious that the provision of a complete set of dispatch centralized equipment at these stations is somewhat wasteful, increases construction costs, and the provision of more equipment at stations also means higher maintenance costs.
