Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及可弯曲和/或可折叠制品及其用途,以及提供可弯曲和/或可折叠制品的方法。该制品由特别是玻璃、玻璃陶瓷、陶瓷或晶体的半透明脆性材料制成。这些制品特别用作显示屏盖,特别是用作例如智能手机或平板电脑或电视设备中的显示屏中的保护盖。该制品还可以用作诸如OLED或LED的电子部件的基板。
背景技术
脆性材料仅能弯曲到一定的载荷极限。该极限取决于多个材料参数和强度参数。目前的制品尚未达到客户对理想弯曲半径的要求。
可弯曲显示屏所承受的载荷情况可分为三组:
1)弯曲引起的拉伸载荷;
2)例如由于掉落产品或物体掉落到显示屏上而发生的冲击载荷;
3)由于例如用硬物刮擦引起的载荷。
现有技术中没有具有可接受载荷特性的制品。载荷特性取决于多个材料参数和强度参数,例如杨氏模量、泊松比、断裂韧度、压缩应力、特征穿透深度、制品厚度、硬度、密度和亚临界裂纹扩展特性。各种参数对载荷特性的影响是复杂的。而且,参数之间存在多种相互关系。迄今为止,尚未实现所有参数的优化。迄今还没有实现从大量参数中识别出与改善载荷特性特别相关的参数。此外,希望不仅手头上有特别相关的参数而且还要有它们之间的关系,该关系能够关联特别相关的参数并且通过这样的相关性得出关于载荷特性的结论。
发明内容
因此,本发明的一个目的是提出在弯曲载荷下预期寿命增加的制品以及提供这种制品的方法。与现有技术的制品相比,预期寿命增加意味着制品抗本文所述的载荷的时间更长。可弯曲性提高引起实现了更小的半径而不发生破裂。因此,与现有技术相比,预期寿命增加还意味着制品在破裂之前具有较小半径的可弯曲性。本发明的一个目的是提出制品以及用于制造这种制品的方法,其中,利用本发明的制品能够以相同的失效概率实现更高的载荷(更小的弯曲半径),或者反过来说,在给定载荷(弯曲半径)下降低了失效概率。本发明的另一个目的是提出在冲击和/或刮擦载荷下预期寿命增加的制品以及提供这种制品的方法。特别地,本发明的目的还在于提出制品以及用于提供制品的方法,其中,制品在由于弯曲和/或冲击载荷和/或刮擦载荷引起的载荷下具有增加的预期寿命。
这些目的通过本发明解决。

确定各个制品的所表示参数断裂韧度KIc、压缩应力CS、特征穿透深度xc和制品厚度d不一定要直接在每个单独的制品上进行。而是,确定各个制品的参数例如也可以通过一个或多个参考制品间接地进行。根据本发明,可以通过借助参考制品确定参数来确定本发明的单个制品的参数,该参考制品允许得出关于各个制品的参数的结论。例如,关于生产批次,可以不直接对所选择的制品而是可以对同一批次的一个或多个参考制品确定一个或多个参数,只要一个批次的各个制品之间参数无差别或无实质差别。优选地,在这方面,“无实质差别”是一个批次内最大值和最小值之间的差是至多20%、更优选地至多15%、更优选地至多10%、更优选地至多5%、更优选地至多2%、更优选地至多1%。
特别优选地,各个制品的断裂韧度KIc通过一个或多个参考制品确定。断裂韧度KIc特别适合于这种间接测定,因为各个制品之间的差别对于该参数而言特别小。

本发明意义上的脆性材料优选是脆性S大于0.1μm-1/2、更优选地大于0.2μm-1/2、更优选地大于0.5μm-1/2、更优选地大于0.8μm-1/2、更优选地大于1μm-1/2、更优选地大于1.5μm-1/2、更优选地大于2μm-1/2的材料。优选地,脆性S为至多20μm-1/2,更优选地至多18μm-1/2,更优选地至多15μm-1/2,更优选地至多12μm-1/2,更优选地至多10μm-1/2,更优选地至多9μm-1/2,更优选地至多8μm-1/2。优选地,脆性S在0.1μm-1/2至20μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在0.2μm-1/2至18μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在0.5μm-1/2至15μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在0.8μm-1/2至12μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在1μm-1/2至10μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在1.5μm-1/2至9μm-1/2的范围内,更优选地在2μm-1/2至8μm-1/2的范围内。此处,脆性S作为维氏硬度H和断裂韧度KIc的比率给出:

当脆性材料在没有进一步保护措施的情况下弯曲时,在凸侧处产生拉伸应力,一旦超过阈值就会导致破裂。目前发现,如果选择参数断裂韧度KIc、压缩应力CS、特征穿透深度xc和制品厚度d从而根据上述等式获得大于250MPa的存活参数SP,则获得了特别可弯曲和/或可折叠的制品。SP具有拉伸应力的尺寸(dimension)并以MPa给出。令人惊讶的发现,如果如上述等式中描述的,所述参数断裂韧度KIc、压缩应力CS、特征穿透深度xc和制品厚度d与存活参数SP相关,则半透明脆性材料的制品在弯曲载荷下的寿命特别长,其中,SP大于250MPa。优选地,SP为至少300MPa、更优选地至少350MPa、更优选地至少400MPa、更优选地至少450MPa并且特别优选地至少500MPa、更优选地至少600MPa、更优选地至少700MPa、更优选地至少800MPa。优选地,SP为至多1,000,000MPa、更优选地至多100,000MPa、更优选地至多20,000MPa、更优选地至多10,000MPa、更优选地更优选至多7,500MPa、更优选地至多5,000MPa、更优选地至多4,000MPa、更优选地至多3,000MPa、更优选地至多2,000MPa。优选地,SP在>250MPa至1,000,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在300MPa至100,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在350MPa至20,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在400MPa至10,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在450MPa至7,500MPa的范围内、更优选地在500MPa至5,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在600MPa至4,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在700MPa至3,000MPa的范围内、更优选地在800MPa至2,000MPa的范围内。
本发明的制品优选地围绕(弯曲)轴线是可弯曲和/或可折叠的。优选地,该弯曲轴线垂直于制品的纵向轴线布置。本发明的制品优选地围绕(弯曲)轴线是可弯曲的和/或可折叠的,该轴线优选地垂直于制品的纵向轴线布置,其中,制品承受100,000次弯曲和/或折叠事件而不会破裂。本发明的制品优选地围绕(弯曲)轴线是可弯曲的和/或可折叠的,该轴线优选地垂直于制品的纵向轴线布置,其中,制品承受200,000次弯曲和/或折叠事件而不会破裂。弯曲和/或折叠事件可以是制品从非弯曲状态弯曲和/或折叠到弯曲状态,其中,弯曲半径为至多20mm、至多10mm、至多5mm或至多2mm。垂直于制品的纵向轴线布置的弯曲轴线在制品被用作显示屏盖、特别是用作例如智能手机中的显示屏中的保护盖的情况下是特别有利的。弯曲轴线优选地布置成使得弯曲和/或折叠将制品基本上分成两个相同尺寸的部分。例如,智能手机或其他优选的便携式电子设备可以通过围绕这样的轴线弯曲和/或折叠而像书一样打开和关闭。
技术人员知晓如何能够获得具有本文所述的有利的断裂韧度KIc、压缩应力CS、特征穿透深度xc和制品厚度d的制品。然而,技术人员迄今为止还不知晓如果选择指示参数使得它们根据上述等式与存活参数SP相关联,则能够获得具有优异载荷特性的制品,其中,SP大于250MPa。通过公开该相关性,本发明由此使得技术人员能够获得本发明的具有优异特性的制品。
根据本发明,断裂韧度KIc应被理解为在拉伸载荷下的断裂韧度(模式I)。该断裂韧度以MPa·√m给出,并且优选地用ASTM-Norm C1421-15(第9页)中描述的“预裂纹梁法”测量。断裂韧度KIc优选地通过一个或多个参考制品测定。优选地,用于测定断裂韧度KIc的制品不是钢化的,特别地不是化学钢化的。优选地,KIc大于0.4MPa·√m。更优选地,KIc为至少0.45MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.5MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.6MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.7MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.8MPa·√m。优选地,KIc为至多100MPa·√m,更优选地至多75MPa·√m,更优选地至多50MPa·√m,更优选地至多10MPa·√m,更优选地至多8MPa·√m,更优选地至多5MPa·√m。优选地,KIc在>0.4MPa·√m至100MPa·√m的范围内,更优选地在0.45MPa·√m至75MPa·√m的范围内,更优选地在0.5MPa·√m至50MPa·√m的范围内,甚至更优选地在0.6MPa·√m至10MPa·√m的范围内,更优选地在0.7至8MPa·√m的范围内,更优选地在0.8至5MPa·√m的范围内。
为了进一步延长弯曲寿命,还可以改变制品中的应力分布。优选地,制品被钢化,特别是热和/或化学钢化,特别优选地化学钢化。例如,存在通过元素交换来化学钢化制品特别是玻璃制品的可能性。在制品中,通常用较大的碱性离子取代小的碱性离子。通常,用较大的钾取代较小的钠。然而,根据本发明,还可以用钠或钾取代非常小的锂。根据本发明,还可以用银离子取代碱性离子。另一种可能性是碱土离子基于与碱性离子所述相同的原理彼此交换。优选地,制品表面和盐浴之间的离子交换在熔融盐浴中进行。这种浴也被称为钢化浴。纯盐熔体例如熔融KNO3可用于交换。然而,也可以使用盐的混合物或盐与其他组分的混合物。如果在制品内建立特定调节的压缩应力曲线,则能够进一步增加弯曲制品的存活概率。这可以通过多步化学交换过程来实现。还可以通过离子注入产生期望的压缩应力曲线。
通过用大离子替换小离子,在交换区域内产生压缩应力,该压缩应力在简单的交换过程中根据余误差函数从玻璃表面向中心减小。最大压缩应力恰好在玻璃表面下方,并且在下文中表示为CS(压缩应力)。CS是应力,并且以单位MPa给出。优选地,CS用Orihara公司的测量装置FSM-60LE测量。
优选地,CS大于200MPa。更优选地,CS为至少400MPa,更优选地至少600MPa,更优选地至少800MPa。优选地,CS为至多20000MPa,更优选地至多10000MPa,更优选地至多5000MPa,更优选地至多3000MPa。优选地,CS在>200MPa至20000MPa的范围内,更优选地在400MPa至10000MPa的范围内,更优选地在600MPa至5000MPa的范围内,更优选地在800MPa至3000MPa的范围内。给定值是CS的绝对值。如上所述,CS必须在本发明的等式中用作负值。
单步元素交换时的钢化曲线的形状是如上所述的余误差函数的形状。扩散系数D对于各离子种类和不同的温度以及不同的材料是不同的。扩散系数D以单位m2/s测量。基于扩散系数D和钢化时间t,特征穿透深度xc可以计算为钢化时间t是制品在钢化浴中的时间。该时间可以自动确定或通过手动时间测量确定。扩散系数D可以用根据本发明的多种不同的方法确定。优选地,扩散系数通过在限定的钢化温度和时间之后交换离子的深度曲线来计算。该深度曲线可以例如通过EDX(能量色散X射线光谱法)测量。可选地,可以使用ToF-SIMS方法(飞行时间二次离子质谱法)。在ToF-SIMS方法中,借助于离子束从制品表面去除材料,并测量由此产生的离子的组成。通过除去材料,它被“钻”到制品的深度,并且能够显示离子曲线的变化。其他合适的方法是技术人员已知的。
与基本材料相比,通过交换区域中的化学钢化的交换过程增加浓度的离子被称为根据本发明的“交换离子”。交换离子的浓度从制品的表面朝向内部减小。独立于上述等式特征穿透深度xc也可以被确定为深度,通过例如利用ToF-SIMS或EDX确定的离子深度曲线确定,在此,交换离子(优选地,K离子)的离子浓度降低到表面和基本材料之间浓度差的15.73%。这是因为在化学钢化之后,交换离子的浓度根据余误差函数从表面浓度降低到体积浓度:

给定弯曲半径处的拉伸应力的绝对程度与制品厚度d大致线性地成比例。制品厚度越大,弯曲应力越高。弯曲应力是指弯曲制品的凸侧处的拉伸应力。制品的厚度可由开发者或设计者自由选择。厚度以单位米[m]为单位测量。优选地,制品厚度d为至多500μm,更优选地至多450μm,更优选地至多400μm,更优选地至多300μm。优选地,制品厚度d为至少5μm,更优选地至少20μm,更优选地至少50μm,更优选地至少100μm。优选地,制品厚度d在5μm至500μm的范围内,更优选地在20μm至450μm的范围内,更优选地在50μm至400μm的范围内,甚至更优选地在100μm至300μm的范围内。优选地,通过厚度卡尺测量制品厚度d。还可以通过重量、底面积和密度来计算制品厚度。其他合适的方法也是可行的。
此外,结果表明,制品凸侧处的拉伸应力与半透明脆性材料的杨氏模量大致成正比。因此,材料的杨氏模量不是很高对于弯曲制品的寿命是有利的。优选地,杨氏模量为至多200GPa,更优选地至多150GPa,更优选地至多120GPa,更优选地至多100GPa。优选地,杨氏模量为至少40GPa,更优选地至少50GPa,更优选地至少60GPa,更优选地至少70GPa。优选地,杨氏模量在40GPa至200GPa的范围内,更优选地在50GPa至150GPa的范围内,更优选地在60GPa至120GPa的范围内,更优选地在70GPa至100GPa的范围内。杨氏模量优选地通过相应材料内的声速来确定。通过声速来确定杨氏模量是常见的并且是技术人员已知的。
如果从制品中移出拉伸应力,则也可以增加弯曲产品的寿命。这可以根据本发明特别是通过将其他材料施加到制品的至少一侧上、特别是承受拉伸应力的一侧上来实现。因此,本发明还涉及一种复合材料,其包括本发明的制品以及附着至制品的至少一侧的其他材料。只需要将其他材料施加到制品边缘以及制品边缘附近。制品的整个侧面不必设置有其他材料。“制品边缘附近”优选地表示制品侧面的在最短连接处与最近制品边缘的距离优选地为至少10*d、但优选地至多50*d、更优选地至多20*d的部分,其中,“d”是制品厚度。

如上所述,拉伸应力优选地从制品移出到其他材料中。因此,其他材料具有相对高的偏置屈服点是有利的。优选地,其他材料、特别是金属材料的0.2%偏置屈服点为至少50N/mm2,更优选地至少75N/mm2,更优选地至少100N/mm2,甚至更优选地至少150N/mm2。0.2%偏置屈服点是(单轴)机械应力,在该机械应力下,相对于样品的初始长度,卸荷后的剩余应变恰好为0.2%。可以从标称应力-总应变曲线明确地确定0.2%偏置屈服点。
其他材料具有相对高的拉伸强度也是有利的。优选地,其他材料、特别是聚合物塑料的拉伸强度为至少50N/mm2,更优选地至少60N/mm2,更优选地至少70N/mm2,甚至更优选地至少80N/mm2。拉伸强度优选地根据以下标准之一确定:EN ISO 6892-1、ISO 6892、ASTM E8、ASTM E 21、DIN 50154、ISO 527、ASTM D 638。
令人惊讶地还发现,制品中的几何效应导致制品边缘处的压缩应力减小。该不利影响能够通过边缘倒圆角降低。在这方面令人惊讶地发现,制品厚度d、特征穿透深度xc和倒圆角OVR的半径具有以下相关性是有利的:
d/3>OVR>xc/5。
优选地,倒圆角OVR的半径因此小于d/3且大于xc/5。在各个制品片材的交叉裂纹上测量倒圆角OVR的半径。这里,OVR是能够在交叉裂纹中贴合交叉裂纹拐角的最大可能圆的半径。拐角是其中原始片材边缘处的横截面。优选地,通过一个或多个参考制品间接地测量各个制品的OVR,该参考制品允许得出关于各个制品的OVR的结论。例如,关于生产批次,可以不直接对所选择的制品而是对同一批次的一个或多个参考制品进行确定,只要一个批次的各个制品之间参数无差别或无实质差别。优选地,在这方面,“无实质差别”是一个批次内最大值和最小值之间的差是至多20%、更优选地至多15%、更优选地至多10%、更优选地至多5%、更优选地至多2%、更优选地至多1%。

对于蚀刻,使用适于去除材料的环境。其中,优选地使用含氢氟酸的液体作为例如不同浓度的HF,特别是氟化氢铵。这些可以与其他液体混合使用,特别是与其他酸混合使用。可以根据所需的去除来调整浓度和蚀刻时间。根据本发明,也可以用碱性溶液进行蚀刻。与用HF蚀刻相比,用碱性溶液蚀刻需要更长的蚀刻时间。优选的碱性溶液是氢氧化钾溶液(KOH)或氢氧化钠溶液(NaOH)。根据本发明还可以使用等离子体蚀刻。

脆性材料中可能存在亚临界裂纹扩展。其中,即使在亚临界载荷(即,不会直接导致破裂的载荷)下微缺陷也会变大,并且可能“扩展到”临界范围,因而存在延迟的破裂。通常,裂纹扩展的速度作为相对应力强度因子v的函数给出,其中,根据以下等式的指数相关性是显而易见的:

断裂起始载荷描述了制品在穿透物体时抵抗裂纹形成的阻力。断裂起始载荷基本上对应于由冲击载荷引起的情形。因此,相对高的断裂起始载荷是有利的。优选地,制品在50%相对湿度下的断裂起始载荷为至少1.5N,更优选地至少3N,更优选地至少5N,更优选地至少10N。优选地,制品在50%相对湿度下的断裂起始载荷为至多200N,更优选地至多150N,更优选地至多75N,更优选地至多65N,更优选地至多55N,更优选地至多45N,更优选地至多30N。优选地,断裂起始载荷在1.5N至200N的范围内,更优选地在3N至150N的范围内,更优选地在5N至75N的范围内,更优选地在10N至30N的范围内。优选地,用维氏压头确定断裂起始载荷,如Sehgal和Ito(J.Am.Ceram.Soc.,81[9],第2485-2488页(1998))所述。
对于冲击载荷而言重要的另一点是临界压缩。这是材料在有裂纹之前所承受的极限压缩应力。该量对应于应变并且是无量纲的。优选地,制品的临界压缩为至少8%,更优选地至少10%。临界压缩可以通过气缸压缩来确定。优选地,将待研究的制品样品放置在两个气缸的前表面之间,从而能够通过气缸施加压力。可以使用例如INSTRON 6025型的万能试验机来施加压力。
杨氏模量E和断裂韧度KIc对于抗冲击载荷的强度也是重要的。在给定碰撞工具的几何形状时制品的最大压力载荷与成比例。因此,高断裂韧度KIc和小杨氏模量是有利的。优选地,KIc大于0.4MPa·√m。更优选地,KIc为至少0.45MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.5MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.6MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.7MPa·√m,更优选地至少0.8MPa·√m。优选地,杨氏模量为至多200GPa,更优选地至多150GPa,更优选地至多120GPa,更优选地至多100GPa。
在刮擦期间,硬质材料在玻璃表面上移动或被推入其中。一方面,这会导致由碎屑和塑性变形引起的难看的划痕。另一方面,可能产生到达制品深度的裂纹,并且可能导致制品的损坏。制品的刮擦可以通过若干种方式来抵消。
半透明脆性材料坚硬是有利的。令人惊讶地发现,重要的不是维氏硬度,而是马氏硬度。维氏硬度(例如玻璃的)被称为一般硬度参数,例如用于确定脆性。关于维氏硬度,将金字塔形金刚石推入玻璃中,并且几何地测量卸荷后剩余的压痕。由此,确定硬度。因此,硬度是材料塑性变形的量度。与之相比,为了确定马氏硬度,分别测量给定跟踪力下的穿透深度或接触面积。因此,该硬度提供了关于材料的弹性变形的信息。现在令人惊讶地发现,马氏硬度是玻璃耐性的更佳量度,因为在其确定期间,压头下方的应力条件与制品载荷下的应力条件非常相似。制品、特别是玻璃的破裂即在载荷期间发生(特别是在冲击载荷下)。
优选地,材料的马氏硬度为至少1000MPa,更优选地至少1200MPa,更优选地至少1500MPa,更优选地至少2000MPa。优选地,马氏硬度为至多30000MPa,更优选地至多25000MPa,更优选地至多20000MPa,甚至更优选地至多16000MPa。优选地,马氏硬度根据DINEN ISO 14577确定。
此外,发现CS相对较高是有利的。由此,能够避免深裂纹。优选地,CS大于200MPa。更优选的CS为至少400MPa,更优选地至少600MPa,更优选地至少800MPa。
特征穿透深度xc较大也是有利的,因为由此还能够在略微更深的裂纹处避免至所谓的“中心张力”的裂纹,使得略微更深的裂纹也不会导致片材的破裂。优选地,xc为至少2μm,更优选地至少3μm,更优选地至少4μm,更优选地至少6μm,更优选地至少8μm,更优选地至少10μm。
本发明还涉及本发明的制品或复合材料作为特别是用于智能手机、平板电脑和/或电视设备的显示屏盖的用途。

具体实施方式
1.提供了不同生产批次的多个制品。测定各个制品的断裂韧度KIc、压缩应力CS、特征穿透深度xc和制品厚度d。通过代表相应批次的十个参考制品对每个生产批次确定各个制品的指示参数。基于参数的确定,选择满足以下等式的那些制品:

特别地,没有选择那些SP不大于250MPa的制品。将所选择的制品与其余制品分离,并且将所选择的制品作为本发明的制品集合放在一起。
2.令人惊讶地发现,具有较高SP的玻璃在破裂之前能够弯曲到较小的弯曲半径。
图1示出了通过示例性玻璃测量到的弯曲半径(根据Weibull统计的特征值)和计算出的SP值(次y轴)之间的相关性。两个参考值分别表示非钢化玻璃的弯曲半径或SP值。可以看出,对于最小的弯曲半径,SP值最高。这意味着能够在高SP值实现小弯曲半径。其通过两点弯曲法测量。(还可参见Matthewson和Kurkjian(J.Am.Ceram.Soc.,69[11],第815-821页(1986)))。在该图中,将玻璃破裂时板的距离的一半设定为两点弯曲的弯曲半径。
图2再次示出了具有预应力仅有-440MPa的另一种玻璃的比照图表(见图表标题)。可以看出,与具有CS=-960MPa的玻璃相比,可实现的弯曲半径相对较高并且SP曲线相对较低。因此,可以利用较高的预应力实现较小的弯曲半径。如DE 10 2014 110 855 A1中所述,这些测量利用阶梯式辊进行。图中的弯曲半径是玻璃破裂的辊的半径。
在将两种玻璃的数据显示在一个图表中时,图3和图4中所示的两个图表分别具有作为弯曲半径的函数或作为破裂应力的函数(应力越高,弯曲半径越小)的SP。可以看出,能够利用较高的SP值实现较小的弯曲半径。较高的SP值与较高的破裂应力有关。具有低于200MPa的低SP值的两个数据点是参考值,并且也代表不能被钢化或仅具有非常低的CS值的玻璃。
图5至图9示出了存活参数显示为其他参数的函数的图表。x轴总是取xc。另外两个参数保持固定,而第三个参数根据曲线图变化。在每个图表的标题中指示了哪些参数是固定的以及其具有多大的值。
图5示出了存活参数SP在较高的预应力CS下增加。图6和图7示出了较高的制品厚度与较高的SP值相关。在图8和图9中可以看出,较高的断裂韧度KIc与较高的SP值相关。
Claims (14)
1.一种提供半透明脆性材料的制品的方法,其中,所述方法包括以下步骤:
