Description

如果信息面之间的距离与物镜系统的景(field)深相比是比较小时,在确定Ej值时应考虑相邻信息面的辐射的辐值增加。在较大距离下,相邻信息面的辐射应加在能量中。

使用两种讯出方式的信息存储系统的读出装置的一个第二实施例,其特征在于检测系统具有两种检测方式的配置,在第一和第二读出方式中,分别以第一和第二检测方式检测来自记录载体的辐射,以几种方式的检测就可以有效地把来自待读信息面的辐射转换成读出信号,抑制从其它信息面来的辐射产生的干扰信号,其中信息是以不同方式存储的。

为了使检测电路正确地工作,记录载体有必要满足下列干扰要求:由干扰面所产生的干扰信号与读出信号之比值应小于Q,Q值的确定主要是通过在检测系统15中产生检测信号、为改善所检测的信号使用正确的滤波器,以及在检测电路17中从检测信号中衍生出信息信号和在信息信号上强加上所述的要求来确定。在对最大的所允许的干扰信号预算部分作分配时应考虑到安全系数、某些系统可能有几种Q值,一个值用于一种类型的信息。一种信息是用户数据,必须连同随机的字符,另一种是地址信息,用于在信息面上标定的区域;这样的信息在相邻轨迹中以及相邻信息面中有可比较的内容。第三种信息是跟踪信息用于引导光点18沿着轨迹运动。给出了最严格干扰要求的信息种类决定了记录载体参数的设计。尽管下面的举例涉及的是随机信息,但是,用于其它种类信息的干扰要求也能以类似方法得出。
如果存储在载体中的信息是数字形式,那么有可能用它来存储误差校正信息。误差校正信息可以用在检测电路中以校正信息信号中的误差。较大量的误差校正信息允许较大误差的校正,但降低了检测信号的品质要求。即具有大误差校正容量的检测电路具有相对大的Q值,它能适应大的干扰信号。Q值在后面将被认为是由读出装置固定的一个因子。下文中所称的干扰信号是由干扰面产生的干扰信号,除非有其它的说明。
Q值应该从信息存储系统的设计中取得。对于一个系统该值不是已知的情况下,可由如下方式获得一个近似值。当读出装置读取仅有一个信息面的光记录载体时,必须测定检测信号Sd的调制。记录载体的品质应该是由系统规定的可允许的最低品质,这样,所分配给与干扰面无关的干扰信号的那一部分预算可以完全被使用。预算的其余部分是用于多面记录载体的干扰面产生的干扰信号的。这一部分的值是利用将一个具有控制调制的信号加到检测信号Sd上来确定的。这个调制必须增加,直到系统达到最低性能水平为止。所控制的调制与单面记录载体的调制之比值现在就作为参数Q的近似值。

在干扰要求(2a)的计算中,不同干扰面的辐射的光学能量被加到一起。由于一个光能被转换成在检测系统15中的电性幅值,那么等式(2a)中光能的相加将意味着干扰信号的电性幅值被加到一起。因此,干扰要求(2a)应用到其正确的操作与干扰信号的瞬时幅值相关的检测电路17上。然而,如果一个检测电路的正确操作与干扰信号的平均能量相关,那么在干扰要求的计算中应用电能量来代替幅值加和到一起。对于这样的检测电路,干扰要求为:

被读出的信号和干扰信号一般含有一个AC成分和一个DC成分。通过在等式(2a)和(2b)中从零开始在f上取和这两个成分都含在干扰要求中。DC成分可能引起图2中的检测信号Sd的电平相对于检测电平D的漂移,这会引起所检测时刻的漂移,在这个时刻所述检测信号具有检测电平值。其结果是降低了信息信号的可靠性。在某些检测电路中对DC成分的灵敏程度与对AC成分的敏感程度不同。如果是这样情况,干扰要求应该分成两个要求。AC干扰要求由公式(2a)或(2b)给出。在f上的相加由大于零的一个频率开始。Q用QAC代替。DC干扰要求由下式给出:

其中,QDC是检测电路的DC干扰比值,对零频率的调制因子mj和mi等于1,调制转换函数为MTF(0,0)。为了满足干扰要求,应试图最大地减小由不被读出的信息面产生的干扰信号。另一方面,在信息面的读出期间希望读出尽可能大的读出信号以确保检测电路的满意的工作。较大读出信号有这样的优点,即将会在读出信号中有较小的噪声以便信息信号能更容易地从检测信号中得到。这提供了每单位时间增加所读出信息量的可能性,或者增加信息面的信息密度的可能性。然而,由一个信息面产生的干扰信号的减小常常也导致当这个信息面被读时读出信号的减小。如果一信息面的干扰信号,例如,是由该信息面调制因子的减少来减小的话,那么,当这个信息面被读出时,将导致信息面读出信号的较小的调制,因此,记录载体的参数应该选择成恰好满足干扰要求,这意味着每一被读的信息面有最大的读出信号,而不被读的信息面的干扰信号有可允许的最大值。
原则上,减小干扰信号以满足所述干扰要求可以通过调整公式(2a)或(2b)中的每个参数来完成。例如,有一种可能是压缩一干扰面的被检测辐射Ei的量,另一种可能是减小一干扰面的调制因子mj(f),进而减小一干扰面的调制传递函数MTF(f,dj/n)。在一记录载体中读取每一信息面都必须确定干扰要求。对于这些干扰要求中的每一个,其参数值要满足所确定的记录载体的结构。下面将给一些例子以说明在一个信息存储系统中满足上述可能性的方式。在大多数例子中,将涉及一个干扰面对所读的一个信息面的影响。以类似的方式,并结合公式(2a)和(2b)的干扰要求可以确定其它可能的干扰面的干扰信号。
第一种减小干扰信号的可能性是对信息面使用不同的读出方式。为此,信息面可能有不同的波长灵敏度。根据此原理的读出装置是公知的,特别是在德国专利申请NO3741910中,图3示出了这样一种在两种波长下工作的装置。两个辐射源20和21,例如半导体激光器,产生两个波长λ1的λ2的辐射。两束激光的辐射光束利用一个中性镜22和一个分光镜23复合。该辐射光束利用镜31反射到物镜系统14上,物镜系统14将光束聚焦在记录载体5内的一个信息面上。记录载体由马达24旋转,辐射光束可对记录载体上的轨迹进行扫描。由记录载体反射的辐射经一个光束分离器25从光束的前进方向反射到一个第二分光镜26上,该分光镜26使波长为λ1的辐射进入检测系统27,波长为λ2的辐射进入检测系统28。每个检测系统的检测信号都通向检测电路29、30,它们能从检测信号中产生信息信号。图3A的读出装置提出了同时读出不同信息面的可能性。如果同时读出不需要,那么,只需要一个检测机构,分光镜26,检测系统28及检测电路30可以被省略。
图3B中示出了用于图3A所示的读出装置的一个记录载体5的实施例,它具有两个空间上分离的信息面,信息面由基底7上的单个薄层1构成。一个其反射系数与周围环境不同(主要对波长λ1而言)的标记可以利用波长为λ1的高能辐射光束来写入到薄层中。这个写入操作可以用公知的“光谱孔燃烧”(spectral-hole burniug)法来进行。如果这样写入的标记用波长为λ1的辐射来读出的话,也能获得一个好的读出信号,而当这些标记用波长为λ2的辐射来读出,会获得弱的读出信号。反之,当写入标记的辐射为波长λ2时,用波长λ1的辐射读出该标记则获得弱的读出信号,而这些标记用波长λ2的辐射读出时会获得好的读出信号。这些标记应满足的要求遵循干扰要求,即公式(2a)。在以单一波长读出时,例如λ1,被读的信息面与不被读的信息面一致,即E1=E2,且d2=0。对于来自两个信息面的波长为λ1的辐射来说,调制传递函数基于同样的原因是相等的。最后,如果两个信息面由近似一样的频谱构成,那么在波长λ1下读出时干扰要求减少为:

调制因子之值mj与标记的大小有关,还与标记反射的幅值与其周围环境的反射幅值之差别有关,反射幅值等于反射强度的平方根。如果在两个波长下写入的标记有同样的尺寸,干扰要求可写为:

其中R是标记周围信息平面的反射强度系数,R1是用波长λ1的辐射写入的标记的反射强度系数,R2是用波长λ2的辐射写入的标记的反射强度系数。在这种情况下为简化起见假设反射强度系数R对两个波长是相等的。如果对于来自不被读的信息面的干扰信号干扰比值Q取为0.03,那么R等于0.30,在λ1下测到的R1等于0.05,在λ2下测到的R1等于0.05,在λ2下测到的反射系数R2应该从0.30即R值偏离小于0.01,
同样,对于用λ2辐射读出时也有同样的考虑。不被读的标记应该与其周围环境有差不多同样的反射系数。层1应该有这样的化学成分,即反射系数的光谱敏感性满足这些要求,如果读出装置通过将两种波长的辐射聚焦在信息面上来同时读出两个信息面,那么,不希望的波长的辐射,经不理想的分光镜26仍然到达不为此目的而设的检测系统,那么这个不希望的波长的辐射在干扰要求中形成额外的干扰信号。分光镜的质量对于在同时读出期间所产生的信息信号的质量是具有决定性意义的。
图3C示出了用于图3A的读出装置的又一个记录载体5实例。这个实施例具有两个分离的信息面,每个信息面由不同波长的辐射读出。其优点是构成两个信息面的物质能够互不约束地优化,这样,给设计提供了较大的自由度。信息面1和2由中介层8分隔开,中介层8的厚度可以为零,这时,两个信息面实际上互相直接接触。这样一个记录载体其中介层为2μm已由德国专利申请NO.3741910的图1所公知。然而,这个专利申请没有说明反射的波长灵敏度之值与读出装置中检测电路的性质的关系以达到在这种记录载体中满意的信息读出。按照本发明的、由公式(2a)所给出的干扰要求保证了参数间的所要求的关系。这些参数对于信息存储系统的设计是必须的。为了获得尽可能高的信息密度,信息面之间的距离应选择成尽可能小,最好是甚至小于辐射光束波长的数量级。尽管这样一个小的中介距离,干扰要求也能通对与反射相关的波长的正确选择来满足。
现在参照图3D对图3C所示的记录载体的干扰要求的结果作出解释,在图3D中示出了在信息面1和2上读出光束33的反射光线。在所考虑的情况下信息面2用波长λ2的辐射读出。并且由信息面1所引起的可允许的干扰应该被确定。图3D中入射光线33的电场具有幅值a由信息面1和2反射的光线的幅值由34和35表示,分别为 a R 1 a T 1 R 2 , 其中R1和T1是信息面1的反射强度系数和透射强度系数,R2是信息面2的反射强度系数,所有系数都应用到波长λ2
由信息面2产生的读出信号的能量主要由经信息面反射的零级和高级衍射光束的能量来确定。由于入射到信息面2上的光束的幅值等于 a T 1 ,那么,由信息面2形成的零级衍射光的幅值为 a T 1 R 2 ,高级衍射光的幅值为 a T 1 R 2 m 2 :在这种情况下已假定高级光束的能量与反射和透射光束的能量相比是很小的。如果信息面1仅仅透射而不反射,在经信息面1透射之后,零级和高级光束将在检测器上发生干涉,并且提供一个与a2m2T12R2成正比的读出信号。然而,由信息面1反射的光束34应加到来自信息面2的零级光束中,如果信息面之间的距离比λ2小得多,那么,零级光束34和光束35的幅值应加在一起以给出一个相长(constructive interference)干扰。现在,信息面2的零级光束和光束34之和在检测器上与信息面2形成的高级衍射光束发生干扰,这样,在检测器的输出端上产生跟随读出信号Sr:

当信息面2被读时,信息面1是一个给出干扰信号的干扰面,在图3D所示的记录载体实施例中,信息面1是这样一种相位结构,它由一个部分反射层构成,该部分反射层在两个有相等折射指数的透明层之间有一个凸纹(relief)。这样的信息面仅仅在反射中产生衍射。从信息面1反射的具有幅值a的入射光束33不仅仅产生一个在反射中具有幅值 a R 1 的零级衍射光束34,还产生了幅值为 a R 1 m 1 的高级衍射光束。如果信息面2不存在,这些零级和高级衍射光束将在检测器上干涉,并且产生含在检测信号中的干扰信号,检测信号与a2m1R1成正比。因子m1是在无其它信息面的情况下由信息面1产生的检测信号的调制因子。由于信息面2的存在,信息面1的零级光束34由光束35加强。光束34和35之和现在在检测器上与由信息面1形成的高级衍射光束干涉。在检测器的输出上产生下列干扰信号:

如从所说的“光盘系统的原理”一书中所述的那样,通过选择在信息面1中的相位结构的双通相位深度(doublc-passphanl depth)对λ1来说近似等于2π,可使调制因子m1保持为很小,然而,相位深度应该是这样的,即在用λ1的辐射读出信息面1时所需的相位深度不同于2π,有一个大的调制因子。通过增加反射系数R2,等式(9)中的调制因子之间的比值能更有利。为了满意地对信息面1也能读出,R1和R2最好是与波长相关的,这可通过对信息面材料的选择来实现。在波长λ1上,R1应该较大,R2应该较小,在λ2上正好相反。如果对于信息面来说用目前可能的材料很难满足所述干扰要求,那么,例如可通过增加两信息面之间的距离来使信息面1的干扰信号减小,以使干扰面的调制传递函数更小。
类似前述的推导公式可以应用在采用波长为λ1的辐射对信息面1来读出的过程。在图3D所示的记录载体实施例中,信息面1不形成在透射中的任何高级衍射光束。在形成这些光束的记录载体中,表达式(6)-(9)应能适用。
前面所列举的例子指出了在简化了的情况下如何确定记录载体的参数以满足干扰要求。在较复杂的情况下,特别是中介层8的厚度与波长的数量级相同的情况下,可以以类似方式进行计算,其中,相位在光学转变点上跳跃,在层中相位的旋转以及在转折点之间的多重反射都应以已知的方式加以考虑,然而,这一计算大部分是用数字表示的,不能象前文那样有公式来简化。上述论点应用到这样的记录载体上,在该载体上标记可产生用于读出标记的辐射的高级谐波。
对于具有不同信息结构的信息面来说,减少干扰信号的第二种可能性是使用具有不同检测方式的读出装置。一个信息存储系统的例子是,其中,记录载体上的信息是以磁畴结构以及凹点结构来存储的,每种结构与该结构相适配的特定的检测方式读出。这样一种含记录载体5和读出装置6的信息存储系统在图4A中显示出来。在读出装置中一个辐射源11发出一辐射光束,该光束经(例如部分极化)一个光束分离器25到达物镜系统14,并由该系统聚集在记录载体5的信息面上。经记录载体反射的光束经光束分离器25入射到光束分离器36上,光束分离器36将该光束分裂成两个其极化方向相互垂直的次光束。这两个次光束入射时分隔开的检测器37和38上,检测器37和38的输出连接在含一个差分放大器39和一个加法放大器43的电路上。两个检测器中的每一个都将所接收的次光束的辐射转换成一个电信号。所述差分放大器39形成一个检测信号40,该检测信号是两个电信号之差。加法放大器43形成一个检测信号44,该检测信号是两个电信号之和,每个检测信号40和44经检测电路41和45分别被转换成信息信号42和46,单元37、38、39和43一起构成一个检测系统。
图4B是局部记录载体截面图。该记录载体有两个信息面,信息面1中信息以凹点形式形成在下层的基底7上,信息面2中信息以磁畴形式形成在可磁化层上。信息面可以由一个中介层8分隔开,如图所示,但是它们也可以相重合。如果扫描光束聚焦在信息面1上,如图所示,光束将由凹点来调制。所导致的反射光束的能量调制按第一种检测方式来检测,即由检测器37和38提供的电信号由加法放大器43来相加,在这里可获得凹点检测信号。如果扫描光束32聚集在信息面2上,光束将因磁化状态的变化来调制。所产生的反射光束的极化调制按照第二种检测方式来检测,即由检测器37和38提供的电信号由差分放大器39来相减,在这里可获得磁畴检测信号40。
对于一个其中两个信息面相重合的信息存储系统来说,读出磁畴的干扰要求遵循公式(2a),其中E1=E2。在干扰要求中的调制传递函数MTF必须按第二种检测方式确定,即用于从记录载体到检测信号40的辐射中调制的传递,由信息面中凹点结构产生的调制的传递函数这时等于一个衰减系数Z与由凹点结构产生的调制的传递函数之积。因子Z是磁畴检测信号40(由于凹点被不希望地读出)的调制与凹点检测信号44(由于同样的凹点)的调制之比值。凹点产生在检测器37和38中的电信号有大体相同的形状,由差分放大器39产生的磁畴检测信号40应该为零。磁畴检测信号40不等于零这一事实是由于在记录载体5中,在从载体到检测器37和38的光径中以及在检测系统中的电路中的小小偏差引成的。然而,在凹点产生的磁畴检测信号40比在加法放大器43的输出上的由凹点产生的凹点检测信号44弱得多。如果凹点和畴的信息内容类似,并且两种型式的标记如果以其自身的检测方式来读出,那么以其自身的检测方式产生相等强度的读出信号,干扰要求可写为:

以类似的方式,干扰要求可以被给出以用于具有凹点结构的按第一检测方式的信息面1的读出。由信息面产生的凹点检测信号44有DC值和AC值。因此,它一般采用如图2所述的方式在检测电路45中被检测,检测电平D是检测信号的DC值,来自记录载体中的信息面2的辐射不仅仅引起凹点检测信号44的不希望的调制,还引起DC值的偏移。这个偏移会导致由被读信息面产生的调制的不可靠检测。检测仍能可靠进行的可允许的偏移可以在DC干扰要求中表达出来。那么AC干扰要求提供了信息面2的可允许的AC干扰信号。所述偏移可以表达成凹点检测信号44的调制幅度的一部分,或者是DC值的一部分。在后一种情况下,DC干扰要求可以用公式(3)给出。如果光束的能量满足等式(12),DC干扰要求则可以写为:

所述调制传递函数说明信息面2的在焦点之外的辐射有多少被检测系统接收到,通过执行一种已知为共焦点检测的检测可使这个值显著减小。对于一个具有中介层8的厚度d的信息存储系统,其中检测系统的构成为MTF1=0.15,DC干扰比值Q=0.05,那么如果R2=0.3,R1必须大于0.36。与前面读出信息面2时计算的干扰要求一起。可以得出,信息面1的强度反射系数应该是0.36和0.48之间的一个值。
图5A说明了反射式读出信息的记录载体5,其中,干扰要求会引起对记录载体的参数的一些特殊的要求,该记录载体有三个信息面1、2、3,从辐射光束32从物镜系统(未示出)进入到记录载体的一侧算起。两个中介层具有厚度d1和d2分别位于信息面1和2、2和3之间。图中示出的情况是信息面3利用辐射光束32读出,由信息面2反射的辐射形成一个汇聚光束50,由虚线表示,在信息面1的方向上。如果中介层有同样的厚度,这个汇聚光束将聚集在信息面1。汇聚光束中的一部分辐射将透过信息面1,形成发聚光束51,它可由物镜系统接收。另一部分经信息面1和2的进一步反射后返回到物镜系统结果,返回到物镜系统中的一部分辐射聚焦在被读的信息面3上,同时,另一部分聚焦在干扰面1上。从信息面1和2反射的辐射光束50将产生一个大干扰信号,由信息面1透射的光束51远离物镜系统的焦点,将产生比由信息面1反射光束所产生的干扰信号小得多的干扰信号。读出信息面3的干扰要求(2a)是:

如果d1=d2,如图5A所示,虚拟信息面与信息面3相重合。公式(15)中第二项的调制传递函数则有一个聚焦值,那么是相对较大的,在这种情况下,公式(15)中的第一项往往被忽略,如果信息面1和3的信息或频率内容以及调制因子是相似的。那么公式(15)可写为:

在反射系数相等并忽略信息面的吸收的情况下,反射系数应小于0.15以满足Q=0.03的干扰要求。在等距离信息面的记录载体中,信息面不应有太高的反射系数。但是,最远离物镜的信息面,即图5A中的信息面3,可能有高反射系数。
有三个信息面的记录载体必须遵守三个干扰要求,第一个是对每一信息面的读出而言的,因此减小了记录载体参数的设计范围。对于图5的记录载体的设计者,如果他说出了中介层8和9的不同厚度,而不是相同厚度,将会有设计的更大自由度。这导致了在公式(15)中第二项中的调制传递函数值的减小,这样,由信息面1产生的干扰信号强度也被减小。当中介层的光学厚度,即d/n之比值大于1.5时,可以获得记录载体参数值选择的较大自由度。为了保持高的信息密度,这个比值应小于3,最好是小于2。当较薄的中介层比较厚的中介层更接近于辐射光束32进入记录载体的入射面时,可获得最小的干扰信号。
在多于三个信息面的记录载体中,设计时应把注意力放在引起反射的所有虚构信息面位置的设计上。如果在两次或多次在其它信息面上的反射之后,一个虚构信息面与一个现存的信息面重合,那么,由于随信息面上辐射的反射数目的增加,干扰信号强度迅速减小,则不会导致不可接受的大的干扰信号。因此,通过信息面之间交替地放置较厚和较薄的中介层,如图5B所示,多面记录载体常常可以满意地得到。单个干扰层的厚度由该中介层两侧的两个信息面的干扰要求来确定。两个依次相邻的中介层厚度的差别由干扰要求(15)来确定。图5B中所示的记录载体可以这样来制成,即用等厚度的透明薄片堆积而成,每一信息面位于薄片的两侧,在薄片之间加一个空气层或一个透明材料层垫片。
从一个按反射方式读出的信息面中检测到的辐射量主要与位于该被读信息面和物镜系统之间的信息面的透射有关。一般来说,随着被读信息面与物镜系统之间的距离增加,被读信息面所产生的读出信号的能量就会减小。但是,对于多面记录载体,不同面j的读出信号的能量可以保持一个恒值,如果下列条件:

在干扰要求中的调制传递函数MTF与读出装置的光学参数有关。在给出MTF表达式之前,首先研究其中所包含的参数。MTF主要与用来读记录载体的辐射的波长λ有关、与记录载体一侧物镜系统14的数值孔径(NA)有关。这些参数决定了物镜系统能透过的最高频率,即被分别读出的标记的最高空间频率。对于一个正常的相干照明光学系统,最高透射频率,也称为截止频率,由空间频率给出:

当确定干扰要求时,被读信息面与一个干扰面之间的距离等于所述的散焦。即,参数ξ是一个信息面相对于光点散焦的一个度量,这个光点是用来对记录载体中该信息面进行读出的。

在检测系统有大的辐射敏感面时,所述积分要在入射至检测系统上的零级和高级衍射光束的重叠面积上进行(由公式(26)给出的积分面积);在小的辐射敏感面时,在重叠面积中的积分仅仅在检测系统的表面进行(由公式(27)给出的积分面积)。显然,从公式(26),(27)和(28)中可以看出参数ω,即信息面的频率内容也确定辐射敏感面积是大还是小。如果敏感面小于光点在检测系统上的像,那么,有共焦检测。在无量纲参数中,这与η<1/(2ξ)对应。在共焦检测的情况下,调制传递函数之值非常迅速地随散焦ξ的增加而减小。然而,不被读的信息面只产生小干扰信号。结果,与可能的无共焦检测相比,信息面之间的距离进一步减小,这使得记录载体的信息密度提高,对于一个大的检测系统,切向调制传递函数等于已知的不相干照明成像系统的调制传递函数,这从W、H、Steel的文章“正弦光栅的散焦图象”可以了解,这篇文章刊登在“Optica    Acta”第三卷第二册1956、6、PP65-74。
径向函数Fr(q,d)在公式(24)中以无量纲参数的形式由下式给出:

函数Sinc(x)定义为sin(x)/x。所述径向因子Fr是建立在这样一个事实之上,即在被读轨迹上的信息和在与其相邻轨迹上的信息在相位上是不相关的。对于一个无限大的检测器来说,所述调制传递函数在零频率和零散焦被标准化(归一化)。从理论上说,该调制传递函数局部地有深而尖锐的最小值,作为散焦ξ的函数。然而,这些最小值仅仅存在于只有单一频率存在的信息面上。在大多数情况下,信息是有一个频谱的,这样,最小值在调制传递函数中将不存在。为了确定调制传递函数,最好取用由公式(24)定义的函数的包迹。
上述公式(24)的包迹对于调制传递函数而言与一个信息存储系统中所测量的传递函数有良好的一致性。图6示出了对于参数值ω=0.6,K=1及η为大时,调制传递函数作为无量纲散焦ξ的函数的一个例子。该曲线在零散焦上被标准化,即2010log[|MTF(0.6ξ)|/MTF(0,ξ)]沿着纵轴作出。实线是公式(24)之值,虚线是包迹。对于ξ>2.5时包迹的值ν,再次在零散焦上标准化,由下式极近似地给出:

现在举例说明对于一个按照本发明的记录载体来说,所需的信息面之间的距离如何利用图6得出。图6是由本发明的思想以及本发明为基础得到的,一个信息存储系统有一个检测电路,该电路具有一个干扰比值,用于当前不被读的信息面所产生的干扰信号,此时干扰比值Q=0.01=-40db。记录载体有两个信息面,这两个面上的信息以标记方式同样编码,具有类似的频谱并满足等式(17)。在当前不被读的信息面的频谱中最低频率产生最大串音,这是因为调制传递函数之值一般随频率增加而减小。为了获得干扰信号的合理的近似,假定在频谱中只有最低频率存在。如果一个频率具有ω=0.6,图6将给出相关的调制传递函数。干扰要求相当于寻找ξ的最小值,对此,MTF(0.6ξ)/MTF(0.6,0)<Q。图6中包迹的虚线给出ξ=5.2,对-40dB而言,这是从公式(21)得来的,这时波长λ=0.8μm,数值孔径NA=0.5,d=8.4μm。如果在频谱带上存在不同频率,应该确定这个带的MTF的加权平均值。两个信息面之间的中介层的最小厚度适用于中介层是空气的情况。如果中介层的折射指数大于1例如n=1.5,d/n必须为8.4μm,因此d必须为12.6μm。所说的厚度是中介层的最小厚度,这时,信息面中的信息仍然满意地被读出,或者换句话说,在读出装置中的检测电路17能从检测信号Sd中得出可靠的信息信号Si。在最小厚度时,在垂直于信息存储系统的记录载体中的信息面的方向上信息密度是最大的。如果中介层的厚度大于这个值,并且其中有一个信息面被读出,那么其它的信息面将形成检测信号Sd中的干扰信号,该干扰信号在读出信号电平之下大于40dB。
对于所用的零频率的调制传递函数,例如对公式(14)中的DC干扰要求由下式给出:

如在等式(14)中所考虑的那样,值MTF=0.15可以用η=0.387实现。它从公式(22)导出,其中半径rd=20μm,放大率M=10,数值孔径NA=0.5,在这时,中介层8的厚度或散焦应该是5.2μm或更大。
对于在接近物镜系统14的辐射光束上具有非均匀强度分布以及光学象差的读出装置来说,所述调制传递函数可以由已说明的几种方法来确定,例如在T.wilson    C.和Sheppard(学术期刊,1984)等人的书“光盘系统原理”以及“扫描光学显微术”中第2、3、4章所述的那样并且可以接着用在与公式(24)一致的干扰要求(2a)或(2b)中。
前面所讲述的按照本发明的信息存储系统的实施例适用于检测由记录载体反射的辐射。然而,从原理上讲,上述所有满足干扰要求的方法也能应用于检测经记录载体透射的辐射。对于以透射方式工作的信息存储系统的干扰要求的结果基本上等于以反射方式工作的信息存储系统。图7A示出了一种以透射方式工作的信息存储系统。在读出装置6′中,辐射源11产生一个辐射光束,经准直透镜53和物镜系统14聚焦在记录载体5′的信息面上。经记录载体透射的辐射被平行校正,例如用一个集光镜54进行,再用一个准直透镜55聚焦到检测系统15上。检测系统提供一个检测信号Sd,该信号由检测电路17转换成信息信号Si。对于读出装置的正确操作来说,在读出过程中,物镜系统14和集光镜54应该对准同一光轴,这样,在一端的部件11、53、14及在另一端的构件54、55和15能用一个公用的驱动装置驱动以使辐射光束在圆形记录载体5′上沿径向移动。
图7B示出了所述记录载体的截面图,辐射光束32聚焦在记录载体的信息面上。透射光束56的能量与光束聚焦在其上的信息面无关。即来自信息面的辐射光束能量    E对所有信息面来说都等于干扰要求(2a)或(2b),或者

上述的用于以反射方式读出的记录载体的同样方法可用于满足干扰要求(35)。适合于以透射方式读出的记录载体的优点是调制传递函数作为一个散焦ξ的函数其值迅速减小的程度快于适用于以反射方式读出的记录载体的调制传递函数。结果,在最后提及的记录载体中的信息面的距离比反射读出的记录载体的信息面的小。以透射方式读出的另一个优点是由在其它信息面上成像形成的镜像信息面不会太大地影响干扰信号的强度。

Claims (17)

1、一种信息存储系统含一个具有至少两个信息面的光学记录载体,以及一个用于从记录载体的一侧对信息面进行扫描的读出装置,所述装置含第一光学系统,用于在被读的信息面上形成一个辐射光点,第二光学系统,用于使从记录载体的辐射到达辐射敏感检测系统并将该辐射转换成电检测信号,以及检测电路,电气地连接在检测系统上用于将检测信号转换化为信息信号,其特征在于信息面之间的距离和信息面的光学特性满足信息存储系统的干扰要求,即由不被读的信息面产生的在检测信号中的干扰信号之和与由被读信息面产生的在检测信号中的读出信号之比值小于一个由检测电路确定的干扰比值Q。
2、根据权利要求1的信息存储系统,其特征在于所述干扰要求由下式确定:

其中,在j上的求和是在除被读信息面i之外的所有信息面上进行的,在f上的求和是在从一信息面接收的信号中存在的频率上进行的,而Ej是来自信息面j的第零级衍射光的辐射能量,mj(f)是信息面j的频率f上的调制因子,其中,对于不被读的信息面来说,mj(f)由聚焦在面j上的辐射光束来确定,而且,其中,MTF(f,dj/n)是信息面j到检测信号辐射频率f上的调制传递函数,dj是信息面j和被读信息面i之间的距离,n是信息面i和j之间介质的折射指数。
3、根据权利要求1的信息存储系统,其特征在于干扰要求由下式确定:

4、根据权利要求1的信息存储系统,其特征在于记录介质具有至少三个信息面,所述干扰要求的总和包括虚的信息面,每个虚的信息面是通过一个信息面相对于另一个信息面镜像形成的。
5、根据权利要求2或3的信息存储系统,其特征在于第一信息面具有一种信息结构,该信息结构以第一读出方式最佳读出,以及至少一个第二信息面具有一种信息结构,该信息结构以第二读出方式最佳读出,其中,所述读出装置有两种读出方式的配置,并且在干扰要求中对于一个不被读的信息面的参数Ej,mj和MTF(f,dj/n)有这样的值,这些值与被读出信息面i读出时的读出方式相关。
6、根据权利要求5的信息存储系统,其特征在于所述辐射源可适用于提供在第一读出方式下具有第一波长的辐射光束,以及在第二读出方式中具有第二波长的辐射光束。
7、根据权利要求5或6的读出装置,其特征在于所述检测系统具有用于检测的两种检测方式的配置,在第一和第二读出方式中辐射分别来自第一和第二检测方式中的记录载体。
8、根据权利要求2或3的信息存储系统,其特征在于记录载体有至少三个信息面,检测系统被安置在由记录载体反射的辐射路径上。其中
