Abstract

一种非线性光学单晶Ba4B14O25,在 BaO-B2O3-BaF2熔盐体系中以顶部籽晶提拉的方 法生长,BaO的含量为55.40~55.72%,B2O343.63~ 44.45%,单斜晶系,空间群Cm,晶格常数是 a=16.648,b=7.944,c=17.106,α=γ=90°, β=118.640°,密度D=3.68g/cm3,熔点Tm=901 ±3℃。晶体有良好的非线性光学特性,可用于激光 倍频、混频、参量振荡等光学器件。

Description

本发明涉及非线性光学晶体领域,特别是涉及硼酸钡系列的非线性光学晶体。
硼酸钡系列的非线性光学晶体,国内外都开展了许多的研究工作,有代表性的是中科院福州物质结构研究所成功地制备出了低温相偏硼酸钡(β-BBO)非线性光学单晶,取得了实际应用的成果,公布了有关文献,如:“BaB2O4低温相单晶体的生长及其相关体系相图的研究”,黄清镇、梁敬魁,物理学报,30(1981)P559。“熔盐籽晶法生长低温相偏硼酸钡单晶”,江爱栋等,“人工晶体”学报15(1986)P103,介绍了β-BBO晶体的化学组成,生长方法和非线性特性。关于硼酸钡系列化合物,“The System Bao-B2O3”,E.M.Levin;H.F.Henurde;J.An.Cer.Soc.32(1949)P99用相图介绍了各种组份及相应温度条件下的分相情况,未涉及有关化合物的理化特性及确定组份化合物的晶体生长,迄今为止,尚未见专门报道Ba4B14O25化合物及其晶体生长的资料。
β-BBO是重要的非线性光学晶体,具有良好的非线性特性,可以用于激光二倍频、混频、四倍频等光学器件,但晶体生长周期较长,成本较高。为了寻求新的非线性光学晶体,从硼酸钡系列中找出新的晶体材料,我们开展了一系列的研究。
研究的目的就在于获得新品种的硼酸钡盐单晶体,这种单晶体应具有与β-BBO相当的性质,特别是倍频特性,但比β-BBO更容易生长大单晶,生长周期较短,成本低。
从已有的文献中可知,硼酸钡系列有大量的化合物,但能长成有用的晶体报道很少,具有非线性特性的晶体,也只有β-BBO,虽然有人报道过BaB8O13的晶体生长。但没有介绍有关物理化学性质。本发明所研究出的Ba4B14O25,是在大量试验筛选的基础上获得的结果。化合物的获得及晶体的长成均是在BaO-B2O3的体系中进行,实施方案是在相图的指示范围内,采用确立的化学组成,经过原料配合、混匀、烧结,完成其固相反应,然后在BaO-B2O3-BF2熔盐体系中用顶部籽晶提拉的方法生长晶体。该晶体在已有的相图中未表示。
本发明生长出的晶体,分子式是Ba4B14O25,按氧化物组合的表示形式是4BaO·7B2O3,按重量百分数计BaO 55.72%,B2O344.28%,实际测量的结果是BaO 55.40~55.72%,B2O343.63~44.45%,晶体各项参数测量结果是:该晶体是单斜晶系,空间群为Cm,晶格常数a=16.648

,α=γ=90°,β=118.64°,晶体的密度D=3.68g/cm3,熔点T=910±3℃。晶体的透光性能测定,其透光范围3571nm~200nm,而在2325nm~216nm范围内透光率在80%以上,它对1.06μm激光的倍频效应是KDP的2~3倍。
本发明的Ba4B14O25单晶体较容易长成大单晶,生长同样尺寸的单晶,所需周期仅为β-BBO的一半。化学稳定性较好,有适中的硬度(莫氏硬度6~7)是一种有很大潜在应用价值的非线性光学晶体。
实施例
将1000克BaCo3和805克H3BO3混合均匀,压成块、在700℃温度下烧结七天,然后升温至850℃烧二天,冷却后粉碎,加入80克BaF2混匀,装入铂坩埚中,移入晶体生长炉内,升温至1100℃熔化72小时,缓慢降温至905℃,从顶部下籽晶,然后以0.5℃/24小时的速率降温,同时以0.5mm/24小时的速率提拉籽晶,经过30天的周期,可获得φ75×15mm的透明4BaO·7B2O3单晶块。

1、一种硼酸钡单晶,由BaO和B2O3组成,其特征在于分子式为Ba4B14O25,氧化物组合的表示式为4BaO·7B2O3,氧化物的百分重量组成是BaO55·40~55·72%,B2O343·63~44·45%,晶体参数是:单斜晶系,空间群为Cm,晶格常数是:a=16·648
