Abstract

技术领域
本公开涉及有机发光显示(OLED)装置及其驱动方法,并且更具体地,涉及能够补偿像素之间的劣化差异的OLED装置及其驱动方法。
背景技术
平板显示装置应用于诸如电视机、移动电话、笔记本电脑和平板电脑的各种电子装置。针对该应用,一直在研究用于减小平板显示装置的厚度、重量和功耗的技术。
平板显示装置的典型示例可以包括液晶显示(LCD)装置、等离子体显示面板(PDP)装置、场发射显示(FED)装置、电致发光显示(ELD)装置、电润湿显示(EWD)装置和有机发光显示(OLED)装置。
在这些代表性示例当中,OLED装置使用与每个像素对应的OLED来显示图像。
图1是与一般OLED装置的每个像素对应的等效电路图。
如图1所示,OLED装置的像素包括第一开关薄膜晶体管(TFT)ST1、驱动TFT DT、存储电容器Cst和OLED。
第一开关TFT ST1响应于选通线GL的扫描信号扫描而导通。此时,第一开关TFTST1将数据线DL的数据信号Vdata提供给驱动TFT DT和存储电容器Cst。
驱动TFT DT响应于通过第一开关TFT ST1提供的数据信号Vdata而导通。此时,第一驱动电压VDD与第二驱动电压VSS之间的驱动电流I_oled通过驱动TFT DT被提供给OLED。驱动TFT DT基于存储在存储电容器Cst中的电压而维持导通状态。
OLED基于驱动电流I_oled而发光。此时,可以通过驱动TFT DT的开关来控制驱动电流I_oled的大小。
OLED和驱动TFT DT可能根据使用情况而被劣化。此外,像素亮度的均匀性和可靠性以及像素的图像质量可能会由于劣化的OLED或驱动TFT DT而降低。
具体地,显示区域中的用于显示标志或广告的特定区域以比周围其它区域高的频率被使用。因此,由于特定区域的劣化变得与周围其它区域的劣化不同,所以可能会发生诸如残像的缺陷。
为了防止这种缺陷,可以依次感测提供给全部像素的OLED的驱动电流I_oled,并且可以基于感测结果来补偿各个像素之间的特性差异。在这种情况下,必须将用于感测全部像素的时段增加到该装置的操作开始或结束的时间点,并且可能在视觉上识别出感测驱动电流I_oled的像素。
为了解决这种问题,已提出了一种数据计数方法。
该数据计数方法基于通过对与每个像素对应的输入数据进行计数而累积的应力(stress)数据而不是感测驱动电流I_oled来执行劣化建模。根据劣化建模的结果,数据计数方法对每个像素的特性变化进行补偿。然而,虽然OLED或驱动TFT DT的实际劣化对诸如光或温度的外部因素敏感,但是数据计数方法难以反映外部因素。
图2是用于使用数据计数方法来描述劣化补偿方法的问题的示图。
如图2所示,因为数据计数方法不能反映外部因素,所以像素的实际劣化与通过数据计数方法估计的像素的劣化之间的误差可能会增大。具体地,可能会逐渐累积通过数据计数方法估计的像素的劣化的误差。在这种情况下,可能会发生诸如过度补偿或无补偿的缺陷,而像素之间的特性差异被过度或不足地补偿。
发明内容
各种实施方式涉及OLED装置及其驱动方法,该OLED装置能够防止通过数据计数方法导致的像素的劣化的误差累积,从而提高对像素之间的特性差异进行补偿的准确性。
根据下面的描述,可以理解本公开的其它目的和优点,并且参照本公开的实施方式,本公开的其它目的和优点可以变得显而易见。另外,对于本公开所属领域的技术人员而言,显而易见的是,可以通过所请求保护的手段及其组合来实现本公开的目的和优点。
在一种实施方式中,一种OLED装置可以包括显示面板、选通驱动器、数据驱动器、定时控制器和劣化补偿单元。劣化补偿器可以基于各个像素的应力数据来检测显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域,并且基于所述各个像素的应力数据和针对在与所述劣化区域对应的水平行当中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据,所述应力数据是通过对与所述各个像素对应的输入数据进行计数来生成的。
所述劣化补偿器可以包括:数据计数单元,所述数据计数单元被配置为通过对与所述各个像素对应的所述输入数据进行计数来生成所述各个像素的累积数据;劣化预测单元,所述劣化预测单元被配置为通过根据所述各个像素的所述累积数据预测所述各个像素的劣化来生成所述各个像素的所述应力数据;劣化区域检测单元,所述劣化区域检测单元被配置为基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测所述显示区域中的所述一个或更多个劣化区域;感测控制单元,所述感测控制单元被配置为接收针对在每个所述劣化区域中任意选择的所述两个或更多个水平行中所包括的所述像素的劣化的所述感测数据;以及第一补偿数据生成单元,所述第一补偿数据生成单元被配置为基于所述感测数据和所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
当所述感测数据与对应于所述感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,所述第一补偿数据生成单元可以基于所述感测数据和预定感测数据权重来校正所述原始应力数据。所述第一补偿数据生成单元可以基于所述原始应力数据和校正后的应力数据来计算校正比,基于所述校正比来校正包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的应力数据,并且基于包括在所述劣化区域中的所述像素的校正后的应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
由于可以由劣化补偿器根据通过感测方法获得的像素的实际劣化来校正通过数据计数方法获得的像素的劣化,所以可以提高补偿数据的可靠性和准确性,并且可以防止无补偿和过度补偿。此外,可以仅感测部分像素的实际劣化,以防止感测模式被识别。
在另一实施方式中,一种用于驱动OLED装置的方法可以包括以下步骤:通过对与各个像素对应的输入数据进行计数来生成所述各个像素的累积数据;通过根据所述各个像素的所述累积数据预测所述各个像素的劣化来生成所述各个像素的应力数据;基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测所述显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域;接收针对在每个所述劣化区域中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据;以及基于所述感测数据和所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据。
生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据的步骤可以包括以下步骤:当所述感测数据与对应于所述感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,基于所述感测数据和预定感测数据权重来校正所述原始应力数据;基于所述原始应力数据和校正后的应力数据来计算校正比;基于所述校正比来校正包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的应力数据;以及基于包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的校正后的应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。

具体实施方式
以下,将参照附图来更详细描述根据本公开的示例性实施方式的OLED装置及其驱动方法。
参照图3至图5,将描述根据本公开的实施方式的OLED装置。
图3示意性地例示了根据本公开的实施方式的OLED装置。图4是与图3中的每个像素对应的等效电路图,以及图5例示了图3中的劣化补偿器。
如图3所示,根据本公开的实施方式的OLED装置包括显示面板100、数据驱动器200、选通驱动器300、定时控制器400和劣化补偿器500。
显示面板100包括与多个像素P对应的显示区域。
多个像素P按照矩阵形状布置在显示区域上。多个像素P分别连接至布置在多个像素P的外部的选通线GL1至GLm、数据线DL1至DLn、驱动电力线PL1至PLm、感测信号线SL1至SLm以及参考电压线RL1至RLn。每个像素P均包括OLED和用于驱动OLED的像素电路。
选通线GL1至GLm和数据线DL1至DLn沿彼此交叉的方向来布置,并且限定与各个像素P对应的多个像素区域。此外,选通线GL1至GLm、驱动电力线PL1至PLm以及感测信号线SL1至SLm可以沿第一方向(图3的左右方向)来布置。数据线DL1至DLn和参考电压线RL1至RLn可以沿与第一方向交叉的第二方向(图3的上下方向)来布置。
选通驱动器300通过选通线GL1至GLm将扫描信号提供给多个像素P。选通驱动器300通过感测信号线SL1至SLm将感测信号提供给多个像素P。
也就是说,当在用于显示图像的驱动模式下驱动显示面板100时,选通驱动器300可以在用于显示各个图像帧的垂直时段期间将扫描信号依次提供给选通线GL1至GLm。在驱动模式下,选通驱动器300可以通过驱动电力线PL1至PLm将第一驱动电压VDD提供给多个像素P。
此外,在如下的感测时段期间选通驱动器300可以将扫描信号依次提供给全部或部分感测信号线SL1至SLm,即:在该感测时段中,在用于感测像素的劣化的感测模式下驱动显示面板100。
数据驱动器200通过数据线DL1至DLn将数据信号提供给多个像素P。数据驱动器200通过参考电压线RL1至RLn来感测像素P的劣化。
也就是说,在驱动模式下,数据驱动器200可以在如下的水平时段期间将数据信号提供给任一条数据线DL1至DLn,即:在该水平时段中,在每个垂直时段内将扫描信号提供给选通线GL1至GLm。
此外,每当在如下的感测时段期间将感测信号提供给各条感测信号线SL1至SLm时,数据驱动器200感测参考电压线RL1至RLn的电压电平,即:在该感测时段中,在用于感测像素的劣化的感测模式下驱动显示面板100。
定时控制器400可以在驱动模式和感测模式中的任一种模式下驱动选通驱动器300和数据驱动器200。
定时控制器400可以基于时序同步信号TSS而在驱动模式下驱动选通驱动器300和数据驱动器200。此时,在显示面板100上显示与输入数据Idata对应的图像。
也就是说,当在驱动模式下驱动显示面板100时,定时控制器400基于输入数据Idata和时序同步信号TSS来控制选通驱动器300和数据驱动器200。因此,在显示面板100的多个像素P根据各个输入数据Idata来呈现亮度的同时,可以显示图像。
定时控制器400可以在感测模式下驱动选通驱动器300和数据驱动器200。例如,在显示面板100的驱动开始点和驱动结束点以及驱动期间的预设空白时段中的一个或更多个处,定时控制器400可以在感测模式下驱动选通驱动器300和数据驱动器200。
劣化补偿器500将用于补偿各个像素P的劣化的补偿数据提供给数据驱动器200。
劣化补偿器500基于通过对与各个像素P对应的输入数据Idata进行计数而生成的像素P的应力数据来检测显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域。劣化补偿器500任意地选择水平行当中的与每个劣化区域对应的两个或更多个水平行。然后,劣化补偿器500基于应力数据和针对包括在所选择的水平行中的像素的劣化的感测数据来生成包括在每个劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据Cdata。
基于由劣化补偿器500生成的补偿数据Cdata来补偿从数据驱动器200提供给多个像素P的数据信号Vdata。
如图4所示,每个像素P均包括OLED和用于驱动OLED的像素电路PC。
像素电路PC包括第一开关TFT ST1、第二开关TFT ST2、驱动TFT DT和存储电容器Cst。
第一开关TFT ST1连接在选通线GL、数据线DL和第一节点n1之间。第一节点n1位于第一开关TFT ST1与驱动TFT DT之间。第一开关TFT ST1响应于选通线GL的扫描信号扫描而导通,并且将数据线DL的数据信号Vdata发送给第一节点n1。
驱动TFT DT连接至第一节点n1、驱动电力线PL和第二节点n2。第二节点n2位于驱动TFT DT与OLED之间。
存储电容器Cst连接在驱动TFT DT的栅极与漏极之间。也就是说,存储电容器Cst连接在第一节点n1与第二节点n2之间。利用第一节点n1与第二节点n2之间的差分电压来对存储电容器Cst进行充电。
OLED连接在第二节点n2与第二驱动电压VSS之间。
因此,驱动TFT DT基于存储在存储电容器Cst中的电压和提供给第一节点n1的数据线DL的数据信号Vdata而导通。通过所导通的驱动TFT DT,在第一驱动电压VDD与第二驱动电压VSS之间形成电流路径,并且驱动电流被提供给OLED。此时,OLED基于驱动电流而发光。
第二开关TFT ST2连接至感测信号线SL、参考电压线RL和第二节点n2。第二开关TFT ST2响应于感测信号线SL的感测信号感测而导通,并将第二节点n2的电压电平发送给参考电压线RL。也就是说,OLED的驱动电流通过所导通的第二开关TFT ST2被发送给参考电压线RL。因此,可以感测OLED的驱动电流。
如上所述,根据图3中的定时控制器400的控制,可以在驱动模式和感测模式中的任一种模式下驱动数据驱动器200。
数据驱动器200包括数据信号生成单元210、感测数据生成单元230和开关单元240。
数据信号生成单元210生成与输入数据Idata对应的电压电平的数据信号。例如,数据信号生成单元210可以包括用于生成采样信号的移位寄存器、用于根据采样信号来锁存输入数据Idata的锁存器、用于利用多个参考伽玛电压来生成多个灰度电压的灰度电压生成器、用于在多个灰度电压当中选择与锁存的输入数据Idata对应的灰度电压并且输出所选择的灰度电压以作为数据信号Vdata的数模转换器以及用于输出数据信号Vdata的输出单元。
开关单元240包括第一开关240a和第二开关240b。
第一开关240a在驱动模式下将数据信号Vdata发送给数据线DL,并且在感测模式下将第一参考电压Vpred发送给数据线DL。
第二开关240b在驱动模式下将第二参考电压Vpre_r发送给参考电压线RL,并且在感测模式下复位时段期间将感测预充电电压Vpre_s发送给参考电压线RL。
然后,在感测模式下的感测电压充电时段期间,像素P的第二开关TFT ST2导通,以将第二节点n2的电压电平发送给参考电压线RL。在感测模式下的感测时段期间,参考电压线RL的电压电平由感测数据生成单元230感测。
如图5所示,根据本实施方式的劣化补偿器500包括数据计数单元510、劣化预测单元520、劣化区域检测单元530、感测控制单元540以及第一补偿数据生成单元550和第二补偿数据生成单元560。
数据计数单元510通过对与像素对应的输入数据Idata进行计数来生成每个像素的累积数据Adata。
劣化预测单元520基于像素的累积数据Adata来生成每个像素的与像素劣化的预测值对应的应力数据MSdata。
劣化区域检测单元530基于每个像素的应力数据MSdata来检测显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域。劣化区域指示与周围其它区域相比被劣化了阈值差或更大的区域。
例如,劣化区域检测单元530基于每个像素的应力数据MSdata来检测多个水平行的最大应力数据。也就是说,劣化区域检测单元530检测包括在每个水平行中的像素的应力数据当中的最大应力数据。每个水平行均包括与对应于选通线GL的第一方向(图3的左右方向)平行布置的像素。
劣化区域检测单元530基于各个水平行的最大应力数据来计算劣化阈值数据。例如,可以将劣化阈值数据设置为多个水平行的最大应力数据的平均值。然而,这仅是示例,并且劣化阈值数据可以被指定为由设计者任意预设的值。
劣化区域检测单元530检测多个水平行当中的具有大于或等于劣化阈值数据的最大应力数据的劣化水平行。然后,劣化区域检测单元530选择显示区域中的包括劣化水平行的一个或更多个劣化区域。
例如,劣化区域检测单元530可以将显示区域划分为多个块区域,并且在多个块区域当中选择一块区域以作为劣化区域,所选择的块区域包括阈值数量或更多的劣化水平行。另选地,劣化区域检测单元530可以选择区域以作为劣化区域,所选择的区域在阈值间隔内具有两个或更多个劣化水平行。
感测控制单元540在每个劣化区域中所包括的水平行当中任意地选择两个或更多个水平行,并接收针对在劣化区域中选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据。也就是说,感测控制单元540控制图4中的数据驱动器200的感测数据生成单元230,并且生成针对在每个劣化区域中选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据。
基于劣化区域中所包括的像素的应力数据和从感测控制单元540接收的感测数据,第一补偿数据生成单元550生成每个劣化区域中所包括的像素的补偿数据。
也就是说,当感测数据与和该感测数据对应的任一像素的应力数据之差大于或等于阈值时,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于感测数据和预定感测数据权重来校正所述任一像素的应力数据。此时,校正后的应力数据可以对应于感测数据与原始应力数据之间的加权平均值。可以基于装置的累积驱动时间来计算感测数据权重。
第一补偿数据生成单元550基于校正后的应力数据来生成所述任一像素的补偿数据Cdata。
此外,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于所述任一像素的原始应力数据和校正后的应力数据来计算校正比。第一补偿数据生成单元550基于所计算的校正比来校正包括在劣化区域中的其它像素的应力数据。
然后,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于校正后的应力数据来生成包括在劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据Cdata。
第二补偿数据生成单元560基于各个像素的应力数据来生成包括在显示区域中的除了劣化区域之外的其它区域中的像素的补偿数据。也就是说,第二补偿数据生成单元560基于未校正的原始应力数据来生成布置在除了劣化区域之外的其它区域中的像素的补偿数据Cdata。
接下来,参照图6至图11,将描述根据本公开的实施方式的用于驱动OLED装置的方法。
图6是例示根据本公开的实施方式的用于驱动OLED装置的方法的流程图。图7是例示图6中的检测一个或更多个劣化区域的步骤的流程图。图8例示了多个水平行的最大应力数据,以及图9是例示图8中的最大应力数据的直方图。图10是例示图6中的生成补偿数据的步骤的流程图。图11例示了图10中的校正应力数据的步骤中的感测数据权重的示例。
如图6所示,根据本实施方式的用于驱动OLED装置的方法包括劣化补偿处理。
根据本实施方式的用于驱动OLED装置的方法包括:在步骤S10处,通过对与像素对应的输入数据进行计数来生成每个像素的累积数据;在步骤S20处,基于像素的累积数据来生成每个像素的应力数据,所述应力数据与像素的劣化的预测值对应;在步骤S30处,基于每个像素的应力数据来检测显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域;在步骤S40处,接收针对在每个劣化区域中所包括的水平行当中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据;以及在步骤S50处,基于感测数据和像素的应力数据来生成每个像素的补偿数据。
如图7所示,在步骤S30处,所述检测一个或更多个劣化区域包括:在步骤S31处,基于每个像素的应力数据来检测多个水平行的最大应力数据;在步骤S32处,基于各个水平行的最大应力数据来计算劣化阈值数据;以及在步骤S33处,检测多个水平行当中的具有大于或等于劣化阈值数据的最大应力数据的劣化水平行,并且选择显示区域中的包括劣化水平行的一个或更多个劣化区域。
具体地,在步骤S10处,劣化补偿器500的数据计数单元510通过对与像素对应的输入数据Idata进行计数来生成每个像素的累积数据Adata。
在步骤S20处,劣化预测单元520基于像素的累积数据Adata来生成每个像素的应力数据MSdata,所述应力数据MSdata对应于像素的劣化的预测值。
如图8所示,在步骤S31处,劣化补偿器500的劣化区域检测单元530检测每个水平行中所包括的像素的应力数据MSdata当中的最大值,并检测与多个水平行(图8的横轴)对应的多个最大应力数据Max_MSdata(图8的纵轴)。
然后,如图9所示,在步骤S32处,劣化区域检测单元530基于多个最大应力数据的分布来计算劣化阈值数据。
例如,可以将劣化阈值数据设置为多个最大应力数据的平均值。
另选地,如图9所示,可以基于针对多个最大应力数据的模式来计算劣化阈值数据。在这种情况下,劣化区域检测单元530根据多个最大应力数据的分布(图9)来检测两种或更多种模式。也就是说,劣化区域检测单元530检测多个最大应力数据当中的最频繁出现的两个或更多个最大应力数据。劣化区域检测单元530可以检测作为所述模式而检测到的两个或更多个最大应力数据的最大值,选择与被检测为最大值的最大应力数据对应的预定正态分布,检测包括在所选择的正态分布中的最大应力数据的最小值以作为最小变量,并且将所检测的最小变量设置为劣化阈值数据。
然而,这仅是示例,并且只要像素的劣化可以具有识别度,劣化阈值数据可以被设置为多个最大应力数据当中的任意阈值。
然后,劣化区域检测单元530检测多个水平行当中的具有大于或等于劣化阈值数据的最大应力数据的劣化水平行(图9的虚线矩形框)。在步骤S33处,劣化区域检测单元530选择显示区域中的包括劣化水平行的一个或更多个劣化区域。
此时,劣化区域检测单元530可以在通过划分显示区域而形成的多个块区域当中选择块区域以作为劣化区域,所选择的块区域包括阈值数量或更多的劣化水平行。另选地,劣化区域检测单元530可以选择一区域以作为劣化区域,所选择的区域包括阈值间隔内的两个或更多个劣化水平行。
然后,感测控制单元540在每个劣化区域中所包括的水平行当中任意选择两个或更多个水平行。在步骤S40处,感测控制单元540从图4的数据驱动器200的感测数据生成单元230接收感测数据,所述感测数据指示在每个劣化区域中选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化。
此时,根据感测控制单元540的控制,感测数据生成单元230不生成全部像素的感测数据,而是仅生成在每个劣化区域中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的感测数据。因此,由于在用于短时间内生成感测数据的感测模式下驱动显示面板并且在感测模式下驱动少量的水平行,所以可以防止感测模式被识别。
例如,可以基于用于感测一个水平行所需的时间和未识别感测模式的阈值时间来设置用于在每个劣化区域中生成感测数据而选择的水平行的数量。
接下来,在步骤S50处,第一补偿数据生成单元550和第二补偿数据生成单元560生成每个像素的补偿数据。
如图10所示,当在步骤S51处对应像素是包括在劣化区域中的像素时,在步骤S52至步骤S56处,第一补偿数据生成单元550生成补偿数据。另一方面,当在步骤S51处对应像素是包括在除了劣化区域之外的其它区域中的像素时,在步骤S57处,第二补偿数据生成单元560生成补偿数据。
在步骤S52处,第一补偿数据生成单元550从感测控制单元540接收感测数据,所述感测数据指示在每个劣化区域中所包括的水平行当中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化。在步骤S53处,第一补偿数据生成单元550从劣化预测单元520接收各个像素的应力数据。
然后,当在步骤S54处感测数据与对应于该感测数据的像素的应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于该感测数据和预定的感测数据权重来校正应力数据。在步骤S55处,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于校正后的应力数据和原始应力数据来计算校正比,并且基于该校正比来校正劣化区域中的其它像素的应力数据。
然后,在步骤S56处,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于校正后的应力数据来生成补偿数据。
因此,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于感测数据权重利用原始应力数据与感测数据之间的加权平均值来校正原始应力数据。感测数据权重可以基于装置的累积驱动时间来计算。
也就是说,如图11所示,当装置的累积驱动时间(图11的横轴)小于或等于阈值时间TH_DT时,感测数据权重(Sdata的权重;图11的纵轴)被设置为0。然而,当装置的累积驱动时间超过阈值时间TH_DT时,感测数据权重被设置为与装置的累积驱动时间成比例地逐渐增大的值。
阈值时间TH_DT可以对应于以下时间点:在该时间点处,制造装置时的像素之间的特性差异变得小于通过数据计数方法获得的像素之间的劣化的预测值的差异。例如,阈值时间TH_DT可以被设置在2000到3000的范围内。
参照图2,紧接在制造装置之后,通过感测方法获得的像素的劣化与通过数据计数方法获得的像素的劣化在误差范围内彼此相同或类似。然而,在阈值时间之后,通过数据计数方法获得的至少一部分像素的劣化变得与通过感测方法获得的像素的劣化不同。
因此,根据本公开的实施方式,能够识别出通过数据计数方法获得的像素的劣化与通过感测方法获得的像素的劣化之间的差异时的时间点可以被设置为图11中的阈值时间TH_DT。此外,在阈值时间之后,基于与装置的累积驱动时间对应的感测数据权重,通过数据计数方法获得的应力数据被校正为通过感测方法获得的感测数据。因此,指示根据数据计数方法获得的像素的劣化的应力数据可以被校正为与指示像素的实际劣化的感测数据类似的数据。因此,由于可以基于校正后的应力数据来生成补偿数据,所以可以提高补偿数据的准确性和可靠性,这使得可以降低发生无补偿或过度补偿的可能性。
如图10所示,当感测数据与对应于该感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差小于阈值时,在步骤S57处,第一补偿数据生成单元550基于由劣化预测单元520生成的像素的原始应力数据来生成补偿数据。
在步骤S57处,第二补偿数据生成单元560基于由劣化预测单元520生成的各个像素的应力数据来生成除了劣化区域之外的其它区域中所包括的像素的补偿数据。
根据本公开的实施方式,基于以数据计数方法为基础获得的每个像素的应力数据来设置劣化区域。当包括在劣化区域中的像素中的应力数据与感测数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,基于校正后的应力数据来生成补偿数据。
另一方面,当对应像素被包括在除了劣化区域之外的其它区域中时,或者当即使像素被包括在劣化区域中,但应力数据与感测数据之差小于阈值差时,在应力数据未被校正而是被保留的同时,基于该应力数据来生成补偿数据。
因此,可以将通过数据计数方法获得的像素的劣化校正到与通过感测方法获得的像素的实际劣化类似的水平。因此,可以提高补偿数据的可靠性和准确性,这使得可以降低发生无补偿或过度补偿的可能性。
此外,仅针对比其它区域劣化得更多的劣化区域,将应力数据校正为感测数据,并且仅针对从劣化区域任意选择的两个或更多个水平行来生成感测数据。因此,可以防止在感测模式下驱动的像素被识别。此外,由于用于生成全部像素的感测数据的时段不需要被增加到装置的驱动开始点或驱动结束时间,所以可以提高装置的便利性。
根据本公开的实施方式,该OLED装置及其驱动方法可以基于通过对与各个像素对应的输入数据进行计数而生成的多个像素的应力数据来检测显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域。然后,该OLED装置和方法可以基于各个像素的应力数据和针对包括在两个或更多个水平行中的像素的劣化的感测数据来生成包括在每个劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据,所述两个或更多个水平行是在与劣化区域对应的水平行当中任意选择的。
具体地,当感测数据与对应于该感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,该OLED装置和方法可以基于感测数据和预定感测数据权重来校正原始感测数据。然后,该OLED装置和方法可以基于校正后的应力数据来生成补偿数据。
这样,该OLED装置和方法可以根据指示包括在基于通过数据计数方法获得的应力数据而检测到的劣化区域中的像素的实际劣化的感测数据来校正应力数据,并且基于校正后的应力数据来生成补偿数据。
因此,可以根据像素的实际劣化来校正根据数据计数方法预测的像素的劣化。因此,可以提高补偿数据的准确性和可靠性,从而防止无补偿和过度补偿。
此外,该OLED装置和方法可以仅生成包括在劣化区域中的部分像素的感测数据,使得可以防止用于生成感测数据的感测模式被识别。
虽然以上已描述了各种实施方式,但是本领域技术人员将理解的是,所描述的实施方式仅作为示例。因此,本文描述的公开内容不应基于所描述的实施方式来进行限制。
Claims (12)
1.一种有机发光显示OLED装置,该OLED装置包括:
显示面板,所述显示面板包括与多个像素对应的显示区域;
选通驱动器,所述选通驱动器被配置为向所述多个像素提供扫描信号和感测信号;
数据驱动器,所述数据驱动器被配置为向所述多个像素提供数据信号,并且感测所述多个像素的劣化;
定时控制器,所述定时控制器被配置为在驱动模式和感测模式中的任一模式下驱动所述选通驱动器和所述数据驱动器;以及
劣化补偿器,所述劣化补偿器被配置为基于各个像素的应力数据来检测所述显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域,并且基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据和针对在与所述劣化区域对应的水平行当中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据,所述应力数据是通过对与所述各个像素对应的输入数据进行计数来生成的,
其中,所述劣化补偿器包括:
数据计数单元,所述数据计数单元被配置为通过对与所述各个像素对应的所述输入数据进行计数来生成所述各个像素的累积数据;
劣化预测单元,所述劣化预测单元被配置为通过根据所述各个像素的所述累积数据预测所述各个像素的劣化来生成所述各个像素的所述应力数据;以及
劣化区域检测单元,所述劣化区域检测单元被配置为基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测所述显示区域中的所述一个或更多个劣化区域,并且
其中,所述劣化区域检测单元基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测各自包括与第一方向平行布置的像素的多个水平行的最大应力数据,基于所述多个水平行的所述最大应力数据来计算劣化阈值数据,检测所述多个水平行当中的具有大于或等于所述劣化阈值数据的所述最大应力数据的劣化水平行,并且选择所述显示区域中的包括所述劣化水平行的所述一个或更多个劣化区域。
2.根据权利要求1所述的OLED装置,其中,所述劣化补偿器还包括:
感测控制单元,所述感测控制单元被配置为接收针对在每个所述劣化区域中任意选择的所述两个或更多个水平行中所包括的所述像素的劣化的所述感测数据;以及
第一补偿数据生成单元,所述第一补偿数据生成单元被配置为基于所述感测数据和所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
3.根据权利要求2所述的OLED装置,其中,当所述感测数据与对应于所述感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,所述第一补偿数据生成单元基于预定感测数据权重和所述感测数据来校正所述原始应力数据。
4.根据权利要求3所述的OLED装置,其中,所述第一补偿数据生成单元基于所述原始应力数据和校正后的应力数据来计算校正比,基于所述校正比来校正包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的应力数据,并且基于包括在所述劣化区域中的所述像素的校正后的应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
5.根据权利要求3所述的OLED装置,其中,所述预定感测数据权重是基于累积的驱动时间来计算的。
6.根据权利要求2所述的OLED装置,其中,所述劣化补偿器还包括第二补偿数据生成单元,所述第二补偿数据生成单元被配置为基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在所述显示区域中的除了所述劣化区域之外的其它区域中的像素的补偿数据。
7.根据权利要求1所述的OLED装置,其中,所述数据驱动器向所述多个像素提供数据信号,所述数据信号是由所述劣化补偿器通过所述补偿数据来进行补偿的。
8.一种用于驱动OLED装置的方法,所述OLED装置包括布置在显示区域中的多个像素,所述方法包括以下步骤:
通过对与各个像素对应的输入数据进行计数来生成所述各个像素的累积数据;
通过根据所述各个像素的所述累积数据预测所述各个像素的劣化来生成所述各个像素的应力数据;
基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测所述显示区域中的一个或更多个劣化区域;
接收针对在每个所述劣化区域中任意选择的两个或更多个水平行中所包括的像素的劣化的感测数据;以及
基于所述感测数据和所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的像素的补偿数据,
其中,检测所述一个或更多个劣化区域的步骤包括以下步骤:
基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来检测各自包括与第一方向平行布置的像素的多个水平行的最大应力数据;
基于所述多个水平行的所述最大应力数据来计算劣化阈值数据;以及
检测所述多个水平行当中的具有大于或等于所述劣化阈值数据的所述最大应力数据的劣化水平行,并且选择所述显示区域中的包括所述劣化水平行的所述一个或更多个劣化区域。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其中,生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据的步骤包括以下步骤:
当所述感测数据与对应于所述感测数据的像素的原始应力数据之差大于或等于阈值差时,基于预定感测数据权重和所述感测数据来校正所述原始应力数据;
基于所述原始应力数据和校正后的应力数据来计算校正比;
基于所述校正比来校正包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的应力数据;以及
基于包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的校正后的应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其中,当累积的驱动时间大于或等于阈值时间时,计算与所述累积的驱动时间成比例的所述预定感测数据权重。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其中,生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据的步骤包括以下步骤:
当所述感测数据与对应于所述感测数据的所述像素的所述原始应力数据之差小于所述阈值差时,基于所述各个像素的所述原始应力数据来生成包括在每个所述劣化区域中的所述像素的所述补偿数据。
12.根据权利要求8所述的方法,该方法还包括以下步骤:
基于所述各个像素的所述应力数据来生成包括在所述显示区域中的除了所述劣化区域之外的其它区域中的像素的补偿数据。
