Abstract

Description
技术领域

背景技术
有时移动打印机会在操作过程中掉落。处理这种情况的典型方法公开在公开号为20080144270的美国专利申请中，该申请公开了具有读/写头的数据存储设备。加速度传感器被用来探测具有这些存储设备的便携设备的自由落体状况。每当探测到自由落体状况，为了安全起见这些存储设备的读写头就被收起。因此，需要传感器持续地监测以确定读数何时在阈值以下以恢复打印机的操作。
发明内容
因此，一方面，本发明包含了一种成像系统，该系统包括：构造成在第一位置操作的热打印头；至少一个传感器，所述至少一个传感器构造成探测运动的外貌（例如，成像系统的运动何时达到预定极限）并且当信号高于第一预定阈值时促使控制器停止热打印头的操作并且将热打印头移动到第二位置；以及所述至少一个传感器还被构造成探测成像系统的运动何时低于所述预定极限并且促使所述控制器将热打印头移动到所述第一位置以恢复操作。
在另一方面，本发明包括一种成像系统，该成像系统包括构造成在第一位置操作的热打印头；构造成探测所述成像系统的运动的外貌并输出信号的至少一个传感器；以及控制器，所述控制器用于在所述信号高于第一预定阈值时停止所述热打印头的操作并且将所述热打印头移动到第二位置，并且当所述信号低于第二预定阈值时将所述热打印头移动到所述第一位置以恢复操作。在示例性实施例中，所述第一预定阈值和所述第二预定阈值是相同的。
在又一个方面中，本发明包括用于成像系统中的主动连贯性控制和损伤保护的方法，包括启动成像系统中的打印工作，通过位于所述成像系统的不同位置处的至少一个传感器运动值进行计算以确定所述运动值是否大于预定值，如果所述传感器运动值大于预定值，那么将所述成像系统的热打印头从第一操作位置移动到第二非操作位置，持续地监测所述至少一个传感器运动值以确定所述成像系统的运动何时低于所述预定值，并且将所述热打印头从所述第二位置移动到所述第一位置以恢复所述打印工作。
在又一个方面中，本发明包括用于成像系统中的损伤保护的方法，包括启动成像系统中的打印工作，通过所述成像系统的运动值的至少一个传感器外貌进行计算以确定所述运动值的外貌是否大于预定值，如果运动值的传感器外貌大于预定值，就将成像系统的热打印头从第一操作位置移动到第二非操作位置，监测所述运动值的至少一个传感器外貌以确定成像系统的运动何时低于所述预定值，并且将所述热打印头从第二位置移动到第一位置以恢复打印工作。
在又一个方面中，本发明包括一种方法，该方法包括计算通过成像系统上的至少一个传感器测量的运动外貌，如果计算出的运动外貌超过第一预定阈值，就利用成像系统的控制器停止成像系统中的热打印头的操作并且移动该热打印头，并且在计算出的运动外貌超过所述第一预定阈值并且此后低于第二预定阈值之后，将所述热打印头移动到第一操作位置。在一个示例性实施例中，第一预定阈值和第二预定阈值是相同的。在另一个示例性实施例中，运动外貌包括振动、撞击和加速。在又一个示例性实施例中，第一预定阈值时1G力。在又一个示例性实施例中，所述至少一个传感器是多轴加速度计。在又一个示例性实施例中，方法包括计算由成像系统的不同位置上的至少三个传感器测量的运动外貌（例如，在成像系统的角上的四个传感器）。在又一个示例性实施例中，方法包括在将热打印头移动到第一操作位置之后恢复打印工作。

具体实施方式
本发明是成像系统自由落体探测和保护机制。诸如打印机的成像系统可能在打印过程中受到振动或自由下落。对于移动打印机来说这更可能发生。在这种情况下，打印性能会受到不利影响或者打印机中的热打印头（TPH）可能受损。本公开描述的系统和方法通过使用多个传感器测量多个轴线上的G力以确定再次启动操作是否安全来解决这个问题。
图1是成像系统的透视图（例如，移动打印机100）。图2示出了用在移动打印机100中的热打印头200的示意图。热打印头200包括加热电阻器阵列202、基板204、控制部分206（例如，控制器）、连接器208、驱动集成电路（IC）阵列210和热敏电阻212。控制部分206包括微处理器，该微处理器具有软件以控制移动打印机100的操作以及热打印头200的操作。基板204由绝缘材料制成，例如陶瓷，并且例如是长方形的。驱动IC阵列210和热敏电阻212可被布置在安装于基板204上的印刷电路板或柔性电路上。细长的加热电阻器阵列202也被形成在基板204上并且通过连接器208与控制部分206连接。加热电阻器202也与多个电极（未示出）连接。这些电极可沿着加热电阻器202等间距地分开，从而允许加热电阻器202的多个划分部（加热点）被选择性地供能。驱动IC阵列210通过借助上述的电极对加热电阻器阵列202选择性地施加能量而提供了对打印操作的控制。控制部分206将执行打印操作必需的信号发送给驱动IC阵列210。这些信号例如包括打印数据信号、时钟信号、锁存信号、和选通信号。驱动IC阵列210具有选通信号端头210a，选通信号通过连接器208的选通信号端头208a被发送给选通信号端头210a。选通信号确定对加热电阻器202供能的持续时间。在选通信号呈现为“高”水平时，驱动IC阵列210使能量能被选择性地供给到加热电阻器202。基板204设有热敏电阻212。热敏电阻212通过连接器208的热敏电阻端头208b与热打印机的控制部分206相连。连接器208建立了热打印头200与移动打印机100之间的电连接。控制部分206基于热敏电阻212的电阻值获得关于基板204的温度的信息。如果热敏电阻212的电阻值极小（意味着基板204处于异常高的温度），控制部分206可停止向驱动IC210发送打印命令以防止热打印头200操作异常或被损坏。
图3是移动打印机100的内部的俯视图，传感器（例如，多轴加速度计）214（或多个传感器）位于移动打印机100内（或上）。在移动打印机100的布局中，热打印头200位于前液晶显示器（LCD）216附近。传感器214被安装在印刷电路板（PCB）218上并挨着热打印头200。为了具有更好的敏感性，这些传感器通常被安装在打印机的角侧。多轴加速度计能单独地探测例如运动的x坐标和y坐标。
目前，还没有用于打印机在打印过程中的定位或运动的探测和控制机制，所以在打印工作开始时，不管打印机是静止还是下落，移动打印机100都能保持打印。当下落的打印机到达地面时，会有一个G力（约9.8米每二次方秒）冲击并且打印质量（PQ）可能受影响，因为热打印头不是位于其最优位置。而且，热打印头可能因冲击力而受损，这取决于下落距离和移动打印机100接触地面的表面。
通常，单个传感器214（例如多轴加速度计）可被安装在移动打印机100内以感测打印过程中的任何振动、撞击、加速度、或自由落体活动。替换地，多个加速度计214可被使用以还探测打印机的朝向或通过对多个加速度计的返回值取平均来提高所采集的数据的准确性。以这种方式，能够监测移动打印机100的运动的不同外貌—振动、加速、撞击、和/或自由下落。基于控制部分206中的软件所设置的运动阈值，在超出阈值极限时打印功能可被暂停或停止。在冲击结束之前，热打印头200可被略微抬起并被放置在冲击吸收位置以包括热打印头不受冲击损伤。当冲击结束时，打印工作可被恢复。以这种方式，打印中断被最少化，同时维持了打印质量并防止了热打印头200的损伤。
图4是在控制部分206中发生的主动打印连贯性控制和损伤保护的过程的流程图描述400。当打印工作开始时402，一个或多个传感器214将G力值返回给打印机控制器404。G力值可根据打印机100的操作环境而变化。例如，打印机100可能受多个不同的运动外貌的影响，单独地或者共同地，这些运动外貌例如是振动、加速、撞击和/或下落。当一个或多个传感器214的计算值超过预定极限（或阈值）406时，热打印头200将被从第一位置升到第二安全位置并且打印工作被暂停408。可有多个不同的预先定义的极限以用于所述不同运动外貌中的每一个。例如，自由落体运动与振动和撞击截然不同。因此每种类型的运动可具有不同的阈值，该阈值可能超过自由下落、撞击、振动等每一个的预定阈值。在另外的实施例中，不同的运动外貌可被累积地计算以达到预先定义的极限从而暂停打印工作。传感器214将持续地监测G力值，直到它们落入正常操作状况的极限410内。热打印头200此时可回到正常（或第一）位置并且打印工作可恢复412。
通过利用本文公开的系统和方法，在可能出现坏打印质量的情况下，可消除异常打印。它还保护热打印头200不受打印过程中出现大冲击时可能造成的损伤。

Claims (10)

控制器，其在所述信号高于第一预定阈值时停止所述热打印头的操作并将所述热打印头移动到第二位置，以及在所述信号低于第二预定阈值时将所述热打印头移动到所述第一位置以恢复操作。
