Abstract

本发明公开一种显示驱动装置。显示驱动装置包含数据处理单元、第一设定单元、第二设定单元、对映单元及源极驱动单元。数据处理单元接收并处理包含多条数据线的影像数据。第一设定单元产生对应于第一伽玛电压值的第一设定信号。第二设定单元产生对应于第二伽玛电压值的第二设定信号。对映单元根据第一设定信号及第二设定信号将第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值分别对应于多条数据线中的奇数条数据线及偶数条数据线。源极驱动单元分别输出第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值至显示面板的多条显示线中的奇数条显示线及偶数条显示线。

显示驱动装置
技术领域
本发明与显示器有关,尤其是关于一种应用于显示器的显示驱动装置。
背景技术
一般而言,使用者会希望液晶显示器能够提供较大的视角。为了达到此一目的,在同一液晶显示面板上会有不同的液晶排列及旋转方向的架构设计,亦即不同的液晶域(Liquid crystal domain)设计。
举例而言,如图1所示,目前常用的一种架构是将位于液晶显示面板的奇数条显示线LOD与偶数条显示线LEV的液晶LC调整为具有不同的旋转方向,由以让使用者的视角变大。此外,奇数条显示线LOD与偶数条显示线LEV的电极E亦与液晶LC的排列不同。
于实际应用中,虽然奇数条显示线LOD与偶数条显示线LEV上的液晶LC排列及旋转方向不同有助于增大视角,但却也使得奇数条显示线LOD与偶数条显示线LEV发出的光线射至使用者眼睛时的亮度会有所不同,导致使用者眼睛对奇数条显示线LOD与偶数条显示线LEV的感受不同而会有液晶显示面板出现细横纹的感觉。
发明内容
有鉴于此,本发明提出一种显示驱动装置,以有效解决现有技术所遭遇到的上述种种问题。
根据本发明的一具体实施例为一种显示驱动装置。于此实施例中,显示驱动装置耦接并驱动显示面板。显示面板是包含多条显示线。显示驱动装置包含数据处理单元、第一设定单元、第二设定单元、对映单元及源极驱动单元。数据处理单元用以接收并处理影像数据。影像数据是由多条数据线构成。第一设定单元用以产生对应于第一伽玛电压值的第一设定信号。第二设定单元用以产生对应于第二伽玛电压值的第二设定信号。对映单元分别耦接数据处理单元、第一设定单元及第二设定单元,用以分别根据第一设定信号及第二设定信号将第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值分别对应于多条数据线中的奇数条数据线及偶数条数据线。源极驱动单元耦接于对映单元与显示面板之间,用以分别输出第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值至显示面板的多条显示线中的奇数条显示线及偶数条显示线。
于一实施例中,第一伽玛电压值不同于第二伽玛电压值。
于一实施例中,该多条数据线中的奇数条数据线及偶数条数据线会分别对应不同的伽玛电压值。
于一实施例中,显示面板的该多条显示线均由多个液晶单元构成,该多条显示线中的奇数条显示线及偶数条显示线会分别对应不同的伽玛电压值,致使奇数条显示线的液晶单元的旋转角度不同于偶数条显示线的液晶单元的旋转角度。
于一实施例中,奇数条显示线所显示的奇数条数据线与偶数条显示线所显示的偶数条数据线之间的亮度差异会因此获得补偿而避免细横纹的产生。
于一实施例中,显示驱动装置进一步包含多工器。多工器耦接于第一设定单元、第二设定单元及对映单元之间,用以分别接收第一设定信号及第二设定信号并根据计数信号选择性地输出第一设定信号或第二设定信号至对映单元。
于一实施例中,当计数信号所计数的是奇数时,多工器是输出第一设定信号至对映单元;当计数信号所计数的是偶数时,多工器是输出第二设定信号至对映单元。
于一实施例中,显示驱动装置进一步包含计数器。计数器耦接多工器,用以提供计数信号给多工器。
相较于现有技术,根据本发明的显示驱动装置不仅仍能达到增大视角的功效,还能有效避免使用者眼睛对于液晶显示器的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线有不同的视觉感受,使得使用者不会觉得液晶显示面板出现细横纹,故能提升液晶显示器的显示品质及使用者的满意度。

具体实施方式
根据本发明的一较佳具体实施例为一种显示驱动装置。于此实施例中,显示驱动装置可以是源极驱动器,用以耦接并驱动显示面板的多条显示线,但不以此为限。
请参照图2,图2为此实施例中的显示驱动装置的功能方块图。如图2所示,显示驱动装置1耦接显示面板2。显示面板2包含多条显示线(图未示)。
于此实施例中,显示驱动装置1包含数据处理单元10、第一设定单元11、第二设定单元12、计数器13、多工器14、对映(Mapping)单元15及源极驱动单元16。其中,数据处理单元10耦接至对映单元15;第一设定单元11及第二设定单元12均耦接至多工器14;多工器14耦接至对映单元15;对映单元15耦接至源极驱动单元16;源极驱动单元16耦接至显示面板2。
当数据处理单元10接收到影像数据DAT时,数据处理单元10会对影像数据DAT进行影像处理后输出至对映单元15。其中,影像数据DAT是由多条数据线构成。
第一设定单元11与第二设定单元12是分别用以产生对应于第一伽玛电压值的第一设定信号S1与对应于第二伽玛电压值的第二设定信号S2至多工器14。需说明的是,第一设定单元11与第二设定单元12是用以分别对于影像数据DAT的多条数据线中的奇数条数据线与偶数条数据线进行其伽玛电压值的设定。也就是说,本发明的影像数据DAT的奇数条数据线与偶数条数据线的伽玛电压值是分别通过不同的设定单元(第一设定单元11与第二设定单元12)进行设定,由以使得影像数据DAT的奇数条数据线与偶数条数据线的亮度可分别进行不同的调整。
接着,当多工器14分别从第一设定单元11与第二设定单元12接收到第一设定信号S1与第二设定信号S2时,多工器14会根据计数器13所提供的计数信号C选择性地输出第一设定信号S1或第二设定信号S2至对映单元15。
需说明的是,当计数信号C所计数的是奇数时,多工器14会输出第一设定信号S1至对映单元15;当计数信号C所计数的是偶数时,多工器14会输出第二设定信号S2至对映单元15。
举例而言,当计数器13所提供的计数信号C的计数值为1时,计数值是属于奇数,此时多工器14即会根据计数器13所提供的计数信号C将第一设定信号S1输出至对映单元15。
同理,当计数器13所提供的计数信号C的计数值为2时,计数值是属于偶数,此时多工器14即会根据计数器13所提供的计数信号C将第二设定信号S2输出至对映单元15。其余情形均可依此类推,故于此不另行赘述。
当对映单元15从多工器14接收到对应于奇数条数据线的第一设定信号S1时,对映单元15即会根据第一设定信号S1相对应地将第一伽玛电压值对应于多条数据线中的奇数条数据线。
同理,当对映单元15从多工器14接收到对应于偶数条数据线的第二设定信号S2时,对映单元15即会根据第二设定信号S2相对应地将第二伽玛电压值对应于多条数据线中的偶数条数据线。
需说明的是,由于本发明中的第一伽玛电压值不同于第二伽玛电压值,致使多条数据线中的奇数条数据线与偶数条数据线会分别对应不同的伽玛电压值而具有不同的亮度,故可分别通过不同的第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值对于奇数条数据线与偶数条数据线的伽玛值曲线进行亮度的调整。
举例而言,如图3所示,假设某条数据线原本的伽玛值曲线为第一伽玛值曲线GC1,无论是奇数条数据线或偶数条数据线,其均可视实际需要而通过不同的伽玛电压值向上调整为具有较高亮度的第二伽玛值曲线GC2或向下调整为具有较低亮度的第三伽玛值曲线GC3。
然后,源极驱动单元16即会分别输出第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值至显示面板2的多条显示线中的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线。也就是说,源极驱动单元16会分别输出第一伽玛电压值至显示面板2的第一条显示线、第三条显示线、第五条显示线、…等奇数条显示线且源极驱动单元16会分别输出第二伽玛电压值至显示面板2的第二条显示线、第四条显示线、第六条显示线、…等偶数条显示线。
需说明的是,由于显示面板2的多条显示线均由多个液晶单元构成,如上所述,当显示面板2的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线分别对应不同的第一伽玛电压值与第二伽玛电压值时,将会使得位于奇数条显示线的该些液晶单元的旋转角度不同于位于偶数条显示线的该些液晶单元的旋转角度。由此,当显示面板2显示影像数据DAT时,显示面板2的奇数条显示线所显示的影像数据DAT的奇数条数据线与显示面板2的偶数条显示线所显示的影像数据DAT的偶数条数据线之间的亮度差异即可因此获得补偿,致使显示面板2的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线发出的光线射至使用者眼睛时的亮度能尽量趋于一致,因此,使用者眼睛对于显示面板2的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线所显示的影像数据DAT的感受会大致相同,故不会觉得显示面板2所显示的影像数据DAT中有细横纹出现。
相较于现有技术,根据本发明的显示驱动装置不仅仍能达到增大视角的功效,还能有效避免使用者眼睛对于液晶显示器的奇数条显示线与偶数条显示线有不同的视觉感受,使得使用者不会觉得液晶显示面板出现细横纹,故能提升液晶显示器的显示品质及使用者的满意度。
由以上较佳具体实施例的详述,是希望能更加清楚描述本发明的特征与精神,而并非以上述所公开的较佳具体实施例来对本发明的范畴加以限制。相反地,其目的是希望能涵盖各种改变及具相等性的安排于本发明权利要求的范畴内。

Claims (8)

1.一种显示驱动装置,耦接并驱动一显示面板,该显示面板包含多条显示线,其特征在于,该显示驱动装置包含:
一数据处理单元,用以接收并处理一影像数据,其中该影像数据是由多条数据线构成;
一第一设定单元,用以产生对应于一第一伽玛电压值的一第一设定信号;
一第二设定单元,用以产生对应于一第二伽玛电压值的一第二设定信号;
一对映单元,分别耦接该数据处理单元、该第一设定单元及该第二设定单元,用以分别根据该第一设定信号及该第二设定信号将该第一伽玛电压值与该第二伽玛电压值分别对应于该多条数据线中的奇数条数据线及偶数条数据线;以及
一源极驱动单元,耦接于该对映单元与该显示面板之间,用以分别输出该第一伽玛电压值与该第二伽玛电压值至该显示面板的该多条显示线中的奇数条显示线及偶数条显示线。
2.如权利要求1所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,该第一伽玛电压值不同于该第二伽玛电压值。
3.如权利要求2所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,该多条数据线中的奇数条数据线及偶数条数据线会分别对应不同的伽玛电压值。
4.如权利要求2所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,该显示面板的该多条显示线均由多个液晶单元构成,该多条显示线中的奇数条显示线及偶数条显示线会分别对应不同的伽玛电压值,致使该奇数条显示线的液晶单元的旋转角度不同于该偶数条显示线的液晶单元的旋转角度。
5.如权利要求4所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,该奇数条显示线所显示的该奇数条数据线与该偶数条显示线所显示的该偶数条数据线之间的亮度差异会因此获得补偿而避免细横纹的产生。
6.如权利要求1所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,进一步包含:
一多工器,耦接于该第一设定单元、该第二设定单元及该对映单元之间,用以分别接收该第一设定信号及该第二设定信号并根据一计数信号选择性地输出该第一设定信号或该第二设定信号至该对映单元。
7.如权利要求6所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,当该计数信号所计数的是奇数时,该多工器是输出该第一设定信号至该对映单元;当该计数信号所计数的是偶数时,该多工器是输出该第二设定信号至该对映单元。
8.如权利要求6所述的显示驱动装置,其特征在于,进一步包含:
一计数器,耦接该多工器,用以提供该计数信号给该多工器。
