Abstract
The invention discloses a device and a method for configuring a network card, wherein the device comprises a network control module, a BMC (baseboard management controller) module, a storage module and a high-speed connection module, the network control module is used for outputting a network interface to the outside and carrying out network bridging to the inside, the BMC module is used for configuring network card information and writing the configured network card information into the storage module, and is also used for reading the configuration information of the storage module when the network card is replaced, the storage module is used for storing the configuration information of the network card, and the high-speed connection module is used for connecting the network control module and the BMC module. After the network card is electrified, starting network service by reading configuration information in a ROM; the network card configuration comprises configuration when the network card is installed for the first time and configuration when the network card is replaced. Compared with the prior art, the invention saves the storage space and improves the working efficiency when the network card is configured.

Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of network card configuration, in particular to a device and a method for configuring a network card.
Background
With the rise and rapid development of data centers, the concept of pooling computing resources, network resources and storage resources is being recognized and applied by the industry, and virtualization, flexibility and ease of maintenance of resources are being further improved.
Network resource pooling firstly needs to be performed on a Network card, the existing Network card configuration basically adopts a fixed MAC (Media Access Control) address, a fixed FCOE (Fiber channel over Ethernet) configuration, a VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) configuration, and the like, and the configuration of the above information needs to be realized by related drive changes under an operating system.
In the process of building the data center, related information of the network card needs to be manually recorded to the server management part, the configuration information of the network card is fixed, once the network card is replaced, the configuration information needs to be synchronously changed and modified correspondingly, the whole process needs to be completed by professional engineers, and a large amount of time is spent.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to overcome the defects in the prior art, the invention aims to provide a device and a method for configuring a network card, which are used for solving the problems that the configuration information of the network card is fixed and a large amount of time is spent on reconfiguration after the network card is replaced.
The technical scheme adopted by the invention for solving the technical problems is as follows: a device for configuring a network card comprises a network control module, a BMC module, a storage module and a high-speed connection module, wherein the network control module is used for outputting a network interface to the outside and carrying out network bridging to the inside, the BMC module is used for configuring network card information and writing the configured network card information into the storage module, the storage module is used for storing the configuration information of the network card, and the high-speed connection module is used for connecting the network control module and the BMC module.
Furthermore, the device also comprises a control switching module, wherein the control switching module is respectively connected with the storage module, the network control module and the high-speed connection module, and is used for switching the control right of the storage module.
Further, the control right of the storage module comprises the control right of the network control module to the storage module and the control right of the BMC module to the storage module.
Further, the configuration information of the network card includes MAC address information, FCOE configuration information, and VLAN configuration information of the network card.
A method for configuring network card, utilize the said apparatus, the said method is after the network card is electrified, through reading the configuration information in ROM, start the network service; the network card configuration comprises configuration when the network card is installed for the first time and configuration when the network card is replaced.
Further, when the network card is installed for the first time, the invention for configuring the network card comprises the following steps:
writing the configuration information of the network card into a FLASH ROM through a BMC;
and the network card reads the configuration information in the FLASH ROM and starts network communication.
Further, when the network card needs to be replaced, the invention for configuring the network card comprises the following steps:
the BMC reads network card configuration information in the FLASH ROM;
storing the read network card configuration information to an SD card in the BMC;
the BMC writes the network card configuration information in the SD card into a network card ROM;
and the replaced network card reads the configuration information in the network card ROM and starts network communication.
The effect provided in the summary of the invention is only the effect of the embodiment, not all the effects of the invention, and one of the above technical solutions has the following advantages or beneficial effects:
1. under the condition that the network card is not used, the BMC module cannot configure the network card, so that the network card cannot occupy MAC address resources, and the storage space is saved.
2. The control right of the BMC module and the control right of the network control module to the storage module are switched through the control conversion module, configuration of the network card and starting of the network card are achieved respectively, and building and maintenance of products are facilitated.
3. The BMC module writes the configuration information of the network card into the storage module, reads the configuration information of the storage module when the network card is replaced, and the network card directly starts network communication through the configuration information without reconfiguring the network card, so that labor is saved and working efficiency is improved.

As shown in fig. 1, the apparatus for configuring a network card provided by the present invention includes a network control module 1, a BMC module 2, a storage module 3, a high-speed connection module 4, and a control switching module 5. The network control module is connected with the high-speed connection module 4 through a PCIE (Peripheral component interconnect express, a high-speed Serial computer expansion bus standard), and is connected with the control switching module 5 through an SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface, Serial bus); the control switching module is also respectively connected with the high-speed connecting module 4 and the storage module 3 through the SPI, and the BMC module is connected with the high-speed connecting module 4.
The network control module 1 is used for outputting a network interface to the outside and performing network bridging to the inside, the BMC module 2 is used for configuring network card information and writing the configured network card information into the storage module 3, and is also used for reading the configuration information of the storage module 3 when the network card is replaced, the storage module 3 is used for storing the configuration information of the network card, and the high-speed connection module 4 is used for connecting the network control module and the BMC module.
The network control module 1 adopts a network chip with model number 82599 of Intel corporation, realizes physical connection with an operating system through two paths of PCIE, and the network chip outputs two trillion network interfaces to the outside, realizes network bridging in the operating system, and provides a network connection interface to the outside. The BMC module 2 is responsible for managing the board card and distributing configuration information of the network card, wherein the configuration information of the network card includes an MAC address of the network card, FCOE configuration information, and VLAN configuration information, and writes the configuration information into the storage module 3. The storage module 3 is a false only memory (FLASH ROM), and can be written with configuration information of the network card repeatedly. The high-speed connection module comprises a backplane connector which is responsible for the connection of the network card and the operating system. The control switching module 5 is a MUX (multiplexer) and is configured to switch the control right of the BMC module 2 and the network control module 1 to the storage module 3.
The invention also provides a method for configuring the network card, which is realized based on the device, and the method starts the network service by reading the configuration information in the ROM after the network card is electrified; the network card configuration comprises configuration when the network card is installed for the first time and configuration when the network card is replaced.
As shown in fig. 2, a flow chart of an embodiment of the method of the present invention is schematically illustrated, and when a network card is installed for the first time, the method for configuring the network card includes the following steps:
s11, writing the configuration information of the network card into a FLASH ROM through the BMC;
and S12, the network card reads the configuration information in the FLASH ROM and starts network communication.
As shown in fig. 3, a schematic flow chart of another embodiment of the method of the present invention shows that, when the network card needs to be replaced, the method for configuring the network card includes the following steps:
s21, the BMC reads the network card configuration information in the FLASH ROM;
s22, storing the read network card configuration information into an SD card in the BMC;
s23, the BMC writes the network card configuration information in the SD card into the network card ROM;
and S24, the replaced network card reads the configuration information in the network card ROM and starts network communication.
By the method, the network card does not occupy MAC address resources when not used, network card information does not need to be reconfigured when the network card is replaced, the network card can start network communication by directly reading the configuration information from the SD card of the BMC, manpower is saved, and working efficiency is improved.
Although the present invention has been described only in relation to the configuration of the network card, other types of cards may also be designed by referring to the technical means described in the present invention.

Claims (4)
1. A device for configuring a network card is characterized in that: the network interface switching device comprises a network control module, a BMC (baseboard management controller) module, a storage module and a high-speed connection module, wherein the network control module is used for outputting a network interface to the outside and carrying out network bridging to the inside;
the device also comprises a control switching module, wherein the control switching module is respectively connected with the storage module, the network control module and the high-speed connection module and is used for switching the control right of the storage module;
the network card configuration comprises configuration when the network card is installed for the first time and configuration when the network card is replaced; when the network card is installed for the first time, the configuration information of the network card is written into the storage module through the BMC module, the network card reads the configuration information in the storage module, and network communication is started; when the network card is replaced, the BMC module reads the network card configuration information in the storage module, the read network card configuration information is stored in the SD card in the BMC module, the BMC module writes the network card configuration information in the SD card into the network card ROM, the replaced network card reads the configuration information in the network card ROM, and network service is started.
2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein: the control right of the storage module comprises the control right of the network control module to the storage module and the control right of the BMC module to the storage module.
3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein: the configuration information of the network card comprises MAC address information, FCOE configuration information and VLAN configuration information of the network card.

A method of configuring a network card using the apparatus of any one of claims 1-3, wherein: after the network card is electrified, starting network service by reading configuration information in a ROM; the network card configuration comprises configuration when the network card is installed for the first time and configuration when the network card is replaced;
when the network card is installed for the first time, the method for configuring the network card comprises the following steps:
writing the configuration information of the network card into a FLASH ROM through a BMC;
the network card reads the configuration information in the FLASH ROM and starts network communication;
when the network card needs to be replaced, the method for configuring the network card comprises the following steps:
the BMC reads network card configuration information in the FLASH ROM;
storing the read network card configuration information to an SD card in the BMC;
the BMC writes the network card configuration information in the SD card into a network card ROM;
and the replaced network card reads the configuration information in the network card ROM and starts network communication.
