技术领域
本发明大体上涉及由聚合物膜卷材形成的包装,并且更具体地涉及一种形成包括横向于包装的纵向轴线地定位的底部撑板的底部带有撑板的包装的方法,对于包装的构造及其利用一对相配合的热封颚(jaws)形成的方法,允许使用联合的形成、装填和密封设备。
背景技术
由塑料形成的包装,为了所有方式的食物和非食品的方便和有效包装,在市场上的广泛应用中已经发现了聚合物膜材料。该种特性的包装典型地是通过折叠和密封聚合物材料的卷材以形成具有前后包装面板的包装本体、利用所述包装板在其边沿处相互联接到一起而形成的。取决于所述形成方法,前后包装面板可通过折叠包装本体的部分或者在密封(典型地,热封)处将包装板相互联接到一起而被相互联接到一起。
该类未装有撑板的包装有时称为“枕头包”,并且不包括两侧的撑板或者顶部或底部的撑板。然而,对于许多应用,形成带有撑板的包装是所希望的,所述包装提供了在包装本体的一个或多个边缘处具有向内延伸的褶状撑板的包装。例如,侧面装有撑板的包装包括包装本体的相反侧面处的向内延伸的侧面撑板,该侧面撑板将前后包装面板的相应侧向边沿相互联接到一起。

如将通过该典型的形成技术意识到,每个包装本体的高度或者竖直尺寸近似等于聚合物卷材的宽度的二分之一,小于底部撑板的尺寸。因此,所形成的任一包装的最大高度实质上由形成设备能够处理的聚合物材料的卷材的最大宽度限制。
本发明预期到一种形成底部带有撑板的包装的方法,包括操作一对相配合的热封颚,其阐明了底部带有撑板的包装的常规成形中的缺点。这通过形成每个具有横向于聚合物膜卷材和每个包装的纵向轴线定位的底部撑板的包装来实现。可以轻易且高效地形成任何所选高度的底部带有撑板的包装。
发明内容
一种形成体现本发明原理的底部带有撑板的包装的方法包括提供一对相配合的热封颚,以便于通过利用一种成形、装填和密封设备来高效地形成包装,诸如结合有包装的装填。
本方法包括形成由具有纵向轴线的柔性卷材(web)所形成的包装本体。所述柔性卷材被折叠以限定出包装本体的前包装面板和后包装。所述前后包装面板在包装本体的相应侧向侧部处被相互联接到一起,柔性卷材沿着平行于柔性卷材的纵向轴线延伸的接缝被联接到自身上。
特别是,根据本发明所形成的包装包括定位在前后包装面板之间的底部撑板,具有从前后包装面板的下边缘向上并向内延伸的底部撑板。通过根据本发明形成的本包装,底部撑板横向于包装本体的纵向轴线并且横向形成包装本体的柔性卷材的纵向轴线地被定位在包装本体内。因此,包装本体可以非常高效地按任何所选高度地形成,不一定受形成包装的柔性卷材的宽度的限制。根据其不渗透液体的特性和热封性能,可以应用合适的聚合物材料。

单独的衬被按与柔性卷材纵向地间隔开的关系地联接,所述单独的衬之间的间距相当于形成的底部带有撑板的包装的长度,每个单独的衬的侧向延伸的边缘部分朝向相应包装的底部定向。折叠的、形成衬的卷材的内表面不可用热的方法粘接到自身上,即,不能热封到自身上是目前优选的,因此便于形成底部撑板,所述底部撑板展开或打开以允许包装被形成为大致自站立式的。
在单独的衬被联接到柔性卷材上之后,所述柔性卷材被折叠并且沿着其侧向边沿联接以形成大体管状的、折叠的柔性卷材。所述单独的衬按间隔开的关系被大体定位在折叠的柔性卷材内部。柔性材料卷材的折叠形成了每个底部带有撑板的包装的包装本体,每个包装本体包括联接在其相反侧处前包装面板和后包装面板。
本发明预期到,设置一对相配合的密封颚以用于热封每一个单独的衬以在每个包装中形成底部撑板。特别是,所述密封颚包括相应的、相配合的、U形密封面,每个包括:(1)一对侧部密封面以将每个单独的衬的相反的侧向边沿热封到相应的前后包装面板的其侧向边沿处,和(2)横向密封面,其在所述侧部密封面之间延伸以分别将每个衬的横向延伸的边缘在所述包装中的每一个的底部处热封到前后包装面板上。
其次,按间隔地切割折叠的柔性卷材,所述间隔各在长度上相应于形成的底部带有撑板的包装中的每一个的长度。单独的衬被大体定位在折叠的柔性卷材内部,单独的衬为被形成的包装中相应的一个提供了底部撑板。
高效的包装形成是通过将所述单独的衬中的每一个构造成具有小于柔性材料的折叠卷材的宽度的长度来推进的。这提供了具有小于包装的宽度的一宽度的底部撑板的形成,以允许在包装的底部撑板的相反侧边缘处在每个包装的前和后包装面板之间形成侧部密封。这些侧部密封中的每一个叠覆包装的底部撑板的相应端部。
在本发明的本优选实践中,密封颚各自进一步具有与相应的U形密封面间隔开的横向的顶部密封面。热封颚的顶部密封面配合来将前后包装面板相互热封到一起以形成顶部密封,在所述包装中的相邻的一个中,同时具有由U形密封面形成的热封。预期到,当该对密封颚处于封闭定向(至少等于每个折叠的单独衬的厚度的尺寸)时,顶部密封面中的至少一部分之间的间距小于所述U形密封面之间的间距。通过按该方式给顶部密封面定尺寸,可以实现包装的高效的热封,尽管在各个包装的不同部分中的厚度方面有变化,该变化可能取决于任何特定包装部分处的膜的具体的股或层数而变化。
类似地,所述密封颚可以被构造成当密封颚处于封闭位置时U形密封面的横向密封面之间的间距大于U形密封面的侧部密封面之间的间距。此外,该作用确保了高效的密封和包装的形成,尽管在包装的各个部分的厚度方面存在差别,诸如在包装的纵向接缝处各个包装中相对增加的厚度,该处形成包装的材料卷材被联接至本身。取决于纵向接缝的具体构造,包装可能是两倍层厚,诸如具有支靠后包装面板折叠的所谓的翅形密封的情况。
伴随典型的包装形成,每个单独的撑板形成衬的一部分延伸到相邻的一个包装的顶部密封部位中并变为其的一部分。此外,对于借助于股或层数方面的差别来适应包装厚度方面的变化,预期到,当密封颚处于所述封闭位置时,密封颚可以被构造成,使得顶部密封面包括由与U形密封面的横向密封面之间的间距相同的尺寸间隔开的第一部分和由与U形密封面的侧部密封面之间的间距相同的尺寸间隔开的第二部分。

本热封布置的多方面用途通过将密封颚构造成为了制造无撑板式包装(诸如,所谓的枕头包)而可被轻易修改地来促进。为此,每个密封颚的侧部密封面可以由每个密封颚的可除去部分来提供。类似地,每个颚的顶部密封面的至少一部分是由所述颚的可除去部分来提供。通过简单地除去所述可除去的颚部分,所述颚可以被轻易地在构造成用于形成没有底部撑板的包装,诸如,所谓的枕头包。
经验已经显示出,对于一些应用,底部带有撑板的包装的内容物可能趋向于使包装的底部撑板上方的部位中的包装向外变形或者膨胀。为了使该效应最小化,密封颚中的每一个的那对侧部密封面可以设置有用于将所述前后包装面板相互热封到形成底部撑板的单独的衬中的相应一个上的密封面。
形成包装本体和底部撑板的材料的具体成分可以被选为适合于具体的应用。例如,形成衬的卷材(其形成底部撑板)可以由不同于形成包装本体的柔性卷材的材料制成。

首先参见图1和2,其中示出了一种体现本发明原理的底部带有撑板的包装10。如将进一步描述的,底部带有撑板的包装10被构造成便于成型和在联合的所谓的形成、装填和密封打包机上装填,如现有技术中已知的。典型地,本发明可以通过以柔性卷筒纸、聚合物膜材料部分地形成本包装来实践,具有定位于其上的单一的衬,所述柔性卷筒纸、聚合物膜材料被提供给所述成形、装填和密封设备。随着给每一个包装装填以所希望量的产品而完成每个包装的成型。
进一步参见图1和2,其中所示的底部带有撑板的包装10包括由具有纵向轴线的柔性薄膜卷材所形成的包装本体12,其中所述柔性卷材已经被折叠以限定出包装本体12的前包装面板14和后包装面板16。所述前后包装面板14和16在包装本体12的相应侧向侧边沿(margins)处相互联接。在所示实施例,所述前后包装面板在其中形成本体的柔性薄膜卷材已经大体在其纵向轴线处在包装的一个侧边缘处被折叠处相互联接到一起。形成包装本体12的所述柔性薄膜卷材被沿着平行于柔性卷材的纵向轴线延伸的纵向接缝联接到本身上。虽然接缝18已经大体示出在包装的侧向侧边缘(edge)处,但是沿着纵向轴线形成相反的折叠,柔性卷材可以另外被联接到本身上,诸如,沿着定位在后包装面板16中的纵向接缝18’,如图2中的假想线所示。
根据本发明,包装10底部撑板20,所述底部撑板被定位在前后包装面板14和16之间,并且自所述前后包装面板向上并向内地延伸。如将进一步描述的,褶状底部撑板20是由定位在形成包装本体的柔性卷材内部的衬材料形成的。
底部撑板20被一对侧部密封22在包装本体的相反的侧向边沿处联接至包装本体并且与包装本体整体成形。在所示实施例中,侧部密封22中的一个与包装10的纵向接缝18重合并且可以由包装10的纵向接缝18提供。对于一些应用,邻近底部撑板20形成未延伸过包装的全长的侧部密封22可能是所希望的。一对底部端密封23分别将底部撑板20的边缘联接到前后包装面板14和16上以为包装提供底部密封,前后包装面板的上边缘部分联接在热密封的顶端密封30处。借助于所述成型技术,底部撑板20(包括撑板的被密封在侧部密封22处的那些部分)延伸小于前后包装面板14、16的宽度。在上述底部带有撑板的包装中,所述底部撑板典型地延伸包装的完全宽度,以使撑板的长度与前后包装面板的宽度相同。
如将意识到的,可以设置至包装10的内容物的通路以将包装构造成包括合适的优选削弱部位,诸如,划线等。对于一些应用,提供具有可再封闭的紧固件组件(诸如,在前面提到的专利中所公开的)的包装的前面板可能是所希望的。可以如所希望地提供其他合适的打开布置。
现在参见图3-9,将描述底部带有撑板的包装10的形成。为了包装的形成,提供优选包括可热封的聚合物材料的柔性卷材40,柔性卷材典型地沿着其纵向轴线的方向前进。本底部带有撑板的包装的成型进一步通过提供柔性的、形成衬卷材42、还优选包括合适的聚合物的可热封的材料的作用来实施。如可能希望的,形成衬的卷材的成分可能不同于用于形成包装的本体的柔性卷材40。目前预期到,形成衬的卷材的仅一侧是可热封的,以使得被折叠的形成衬的卷材的内侧表面不会被热封到自身上。这允许最后打开并伸开底部撑板20的支腿以使包装10可能采用大体自站立的定向。
如图3所示,形成衬的卷材42可设有管状构造。单独的衬44是从形成衬的卷材42上剪下的,并且被横向于形成包装本体的柔性卷材40的纵向轴线地定位。对于一些应用,诸如利用合适的粘合剂封闭或者密封每个单独的衬44可能是所希望的。当正在形成包装时,包括在穿过联合的形成、装填和密封设备前进期间,保存衬处于大致被封闭的、变平的构造这可能是所希望的。

在将每一个单独的衬44联接到柔性卷材40上之后,折叠柔性卷材并且将其侧向边沿联接到一起以形成折叠的柔性卷材。如此,形成了用于每个底部带有撑板的包装的包装本体。通过折叠柔性卷材40,形成每个包装的前后包装面板14和16。可以将被折叠的柔性卷材40联接到自身上以便形成纵向接缝18,具有在折叠的卷材的侧向边沿处被相互联接到一起的前后包装面板。如同所示,单独的衬44被定位在折叠的柔性卷材40内。
目前预期到,在一种成形、装填和密封机上包装期间,如果希望,以该方式成型可能是有效的,或者可以形成单独的包装以为随后填充。取决于具体的成型技术,侧部密封22一般在装填之前形成,所述侧部密封中的每一个叠覆底部撑板20的相应端部,在各包装的内容物已经被定位于其中之后形成端部密封23中的一个。

为此,密封颚50中的每一个包括相应的U字形密封面,包括:(1)一对侧部密封面52以每个单独衬44的相反的侧向边沿在其侧向边沿处热封到相应的前后包装面板上,和(2)横向密封面54,其在所述侧部密封面之间延伸以分别将每个衬44的侧向延伸的边缘在所述包装中的每一个的底部处热封到前后包装面板上。
在优选形式中,相配合的密封颚50被构造成在包装的相邻的一个中形成顶部密封30,同时热封每个单独的衬以形成包装中的一个的底部撑板。因此,密封颚50中的每一个进一步包括与相应的U形密封面间隔开的横向的、顶部密封面56,所述U形密封面包括侧部密封面52和横向密封面54。
为了便于在包装成型期间高效的热封,当该对密封颚处于封闭定向时,顶部密封面56之间的间距比U形密封面之间的间距小等于每个折叠的单独衬44的厚度的尺寸。该关系在图6、7和8中图解表示地示出,其中折叠的衬44的厚度(例如,包装的折叠的撑板20的厚度)被显示为GT

本发明的附加特点为本发明的实践推进了多功能性和柔性。具有不同尺寸或者配置的底部撑板的包装可以通过设置具有允许可被轻易地改变的热封的具体构造特征的密封颚来轻易地形成。如图10A、B到图12A、B中所示的所述特征包括为密封颚中的每一个设置可除去的密封颚部分,所述部分提供了U形密封面的至少一部分。

经验已经显示出,对于一些应用,底部带有撑板的包装的内容物可能趋向于使包装的底部撑板上方的部位中的包装向外变形或者膨胀。图15中所示的包装10中示出了该效应,其中包装的内容物趋向于使底部撑板20上方的包装向外膨胀。为了使该效应最小化,密封颚中的每一个的那对侧部密封面可以设置有用于将所述前后包装面板相互热封到形成底部撑板的单独衬中的相应一个上的延伸或者延长的密封面。

应当注意到,对于根据本发明所形成的一些包装,诸如图16所示的,使包装的侧部密封形成为具有锥形的或者变化宽度、具有设置于包装的下部部分的更宽密封部位和定位于所述更宽部位上方的更窄密封部位可能是所希望的。所述密封可以被成锥形或者被修圆以提供该效应,该布置产生用于包装内容物的小袋状内部部位。
还应当注意到,用于实践本发明的密封颚的所示实施例优选设有用于产生特种密封构造的密封面。与密封颚50的横向密封面54有关,预期到,产生竖直地定向的密封部位,因为水平地定向的密封部位在有些情况下可能趋向于卷曲和变形,这可能损坏其中采用自站立式构造的底部带有撑板的包装。与此相反,侧部密封面52优选产生带交叉影线的密封部位,其被认为使这些部位处的任何渗漏或者破损最小化,并且其可以提供与侧向延伸的密封部位相比高级的密封。当然,将理解的是,具体的密封构造可以随本发明变化。
虽然本发明的各个实施例影响用于形成底部带有撑板的包装的底部密封和侧部密封两者的成型,但是将意识到,对于许多所公开的实施例,密封颚的侧部密封面52可以被移动、除去或者定位在形成的包装的宽度之外。这理想地允许包装形成设备形成传统的、非底部带有撑板的包装,诸如所谓的“枕头包”或者一般的侧部带有撑板的包装。
为此,图17A是类似于图5的简图,示出了一种其中密封颚的可除去部分提供了密封颚的一对侧部密封面的密封颚构造。如同所示,所述密封颚50包括可除去部分451,所述可除去部分提供了密封颚的侧部密封52。如将注意到的,所述侧部密封面52在该实施例中被构造成用于形成包装的侧部密封22,所述侧部密封在从包装的底部朝向相应的底部撑板20延伸的部位中互相面对面地向内成锥形,理想地固定并增强包装的该部位,并形成了具有小袋状内部的包装。
还将注意到的,在该实施例中,密封颚的横向密封面54被构造成当所述颚处于封闭定向时密封颚的横向密封面54之间的间距大于所述密封颚的侧部密封面52之间的间距。密封颚的该构造理想地适应在包装的具有不同数量的股或层的薄膜或者其他包装材料的部位处在包装厚度方面的变化。例如,在所示实施例中,横向密封面54可以相对于侧部密封面52凹进等于两倍薄膜厚度的尺寸,该尺寸大致相应于形成相应的底部撑板20的每个折叠的单独衬44的厚度。在该实施例中,顶部密封面56包括相对于侧部密封面52类似地凹进的部分56’,在该情况下以适应包装的顶部密封30的、形成撑板的衬44从相邻包装延伸到其中的部分和顶部密封的、衬44未延伸到其中的那些部分之间的包装厚度方面的变化。
图17B是类似于图17A的不完全的简图,示出了一种其中密封颚的顶部密封面56的至少一部分是由密封颚的可除去部分156提供的密封颚的构造。有利地,密封颚的该所示构造增加了多方面的用途,因为可除去部分451和156的除去构成了用于热封无撑板的、“枕头包”式包装的密封颚,在不更换密封颚的情况下。在本发明的范围内,可除去部分451和156中的一者或两者可以被适当地用垫片调整等以便适应比较厚的包装材料的密封。
图18是底部带有撑板的包装的一部分的简图,具有所示的截面投影图,显示了在不同股或层数的包装材料的部位处包装厚度方面的典型变化。通过该图解,显示了包装厚度方面的变化,如上文将意识到如所描述的密封颚的间隔和构造。
在该图解中,底部带有撑板的包装10被显示成在包装的纵向接缝18’处具有所谓的翅形密封。如同所示,该类密封通常处于两个层厚,其与前后包装面板的两个层和折叠撑板20的两个层一起产生了为六个层厚的包装的一些部分。所示包装的相邻部位是四个层厚,而包装的沿着侧向边沿的部位、侧向向外的底部撑板20是两个层厚。
密封颚50的密封面的某些部分的凹进构造适应包装厚度方面的这些变化。经验已经表明,包装的改变包装薄膜材料的两个层厚的那些部分之间的变化可能适应平坦的密封面。因此,参见图17A,侧部密封面52可以有效地密封包装的叠覆撑板20的那些部分(该部分是四个层厚)和包装的向撑板外的侧向边缘(该边缘是两个层厚)。类似地,相对凹进的横向密封面54和顶部密封面56’可以适应包装的纵向接缝18’沿着其延伸的部分(该部分在撑板20的部位中是六个层厚)和底部撑板20延伸入其中的相邻部位(该相邻部位是四个层厚)之间的厚度方面的变化。将注意到,当形成如图18中所示的包装时,在包装卷材的各个侧部设置密封颚的缓冲区域,该区域具有两个薄膜层的厚度。然而,这些区域不决定包装的密封特性和强度,虽然所示实施例确保了在包装的所需要的那些部分中维持所希望的密封完整性。所示布置的结果是促进了高效的包装形成,特别是当有一种成形、装填和密封机实施时。

Claims (14)

1.一种制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供具有纵向轴线的柔性材料卷材,
提供多个折叠的、单独的衬;
按沿所述柔性卷材的纵向间隔开的关系地将所述单独的衬联接到所述柔性卷材上,在所述单独的衬之间具有相应于被形成的所述底部带有撑板的包装中的每个的长度的间距,具有每个单独的衬的朝向所述相应包装的底部的侧向延伸的边缘部分;
折叠所述柔性材料卷材并且联接其侧向边沿以形成折叠的柔性卷材,并且从而形成用于所述底部带有撑板的包装中的每个的包装本体,每个包装本体包括在其相反的侧部边沿处联接的前包装面板和后包装面板,所述单独的衬大致被定位在所述折叠的柔性卷材内,以在所述包装中相应的一个中形成底部撑板;
提供一对相配合的密封颚以用于热封所述单独的衬中的每个以在所述包装中的每一个中形成底部撑板,所述密封颚包括相应的、相配合的U形密封面,每个包括:(1)一对侧部密封面以将每个单独的衬的相反的侧向边沿在其侧向边沿处热封到相应的前后包装面板上,和(2)在所述侧部密封面之间延伸的横向密封面以在所述包装中的每个的底部处将每个衬的所述侧向延伸的边缘部分分别热封到所述前后包装面板上,和
在各在长度上相应于所述底部带有撑板的包装中的每个的所述长度的间隔处切割所述折叠的柔性卷材以形成所述底部带有撑板的包装。
2.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
所述密封颚各进一步包括与所述相应U形密封面间隔开的横向的、顶部密封面,所述密封颚的所述顶部密封面相配合来将所述前后包装面板相互热密封到一起以在所述包装的相邻的一个中形成顶部密封,同时具有由所述U形密封面所形成的热密封。
3.一种根据权利要求2所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
当所述对密封颚处于封闭定向时,所述顶部密封面的至少一部分之间的间距比所述U形密封面之间的间距小至少等于每个折叠的单独衬的厚度的尺寸。
4.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
当所述对密封颚处于封闭定向时,所述U形密封面的所述横向密封面之间的间距大于所述U形密封面的所述侧部密封面之间的间距。
5.一种根据权利要求2所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
当所述密封颚处于所述封闭位置时,所述顶部密封面包括间隔开与所述横向密封面之间的间距相同的尺寸的第一部分和间隔开与所述侧部密封面之间的间距相同的尺寸的第二部分。
6.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,包括
使所述侧部密封中的每个形成具有至少GSS的尺寸,所述侧部密封面中的每个具有大于GSS的横向尺寸,其中所述单独的衬中的每个具有侧向尺寸以形成具有宽度GW的相应撑板,所述密封颚中的每个的所述侧部密封面之间的间距小于或等于GW减去两倍GSS
7.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,包括:
在所述单独的衬已经被联接到其上之后间歇地使所述柔性的材料卷材前进,其中所述柔性的材料卷材被前进而具有尺寸TLD的公差范围,
其中所述撑板中的每个具有高度GH,并且所述U形密封面的所述侧部密封面中的每个从所述相应的横向密封面向上延伸大于或等于GH加上两倍TLD的尺寸。
8.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,包括:
在所述单独的衬已经被联接到其上之后间歇地使所述柔性的材料卷材前进,其中所述柔性的材料卷材被前进而具有尺寸TLD的公差范围,
所述方法包括在被形成包装中相邻的一个中形成顶端密封和底端密封,其中包装中相邻的一个的顶端密封和底端密封之间的间距等于或者大于至少两倍TLD

13.一种根据权利要求2所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
所述密封颚中的每一个的顶部密封面的至少一部分包括至少一个可除去部分以用于允许形成不带撑板的包装。
14.一种根据权利要求1所述的制造底部带有撑板的包装的方法,其中
