显示装置及其驱动方法

技术领域
本公开内容涉及一种显示装置及其驱动方法。
背景技术
随着信息技术的发展,对用作使用户能够连接信息的媒介的显示装置的需求逐渐增加。因此,诸如有机发光显示器(OLED)、量子点显示器(QDD)、液晶显示器(LCD)和等离子体显示面板(PDP)之类的显示装置被广泛使用。
这种显示装置包括:具有多个子像素的显示面板、用于输出驱动信号以驱动显示面板的驱动器、以及用于产生提供至驱动器的电力的电源单元。
显示装置可设置为小尺寸、中尺寸或大尺寸。显示装置可具有不同构造的显示面板和不同的驱动装置(包括外围装置),并且用于容纳它们的容纳结构可根据尺寸、形状、应用而变化。
近来,显示装置在各种条件下广泛用于各种目的。因而,在努力改进装置的使用时间(驱动时间)方面,已进行了很多努力来降低功耗(电流消耗)。
常规地,为了降低显示装置的功耗并改进使用时间,在显示面板上不显示图像的显示关闭时段中暂时关闭显示面板或减小亮度。此外,在该时段中,可降低显示面板的驱动频率。然而,仍存在常规方法未解决的一些问题。
发明内容
在一个大致方面中,提供了一种显示装置。包括:配置成显示图像的显示面板;配置成向所述显示面板提供数据信号的数据驱动器;配置成向所述显示面板提供栅极信号的栅极驱动器;电源单元,所述电源单元配置成输出要提供至所述显示面板的电源电压;和节能单元,所述节能单元配置成控制所述电源单元,以响应于所述显示面板的显示模式改变所述电源电压的电平。
在另一个大致方面中,提供了一种显示装置的驱动方法,包括:确定显示面板的显示模式是否为节能模式,并且响应于所述显示面板的显示模式是节能模式的确定结果,改变驱动频率和驱动电压,其中改变驱动频率和驱动电压包括:控制电源单元,以减小驱动频率并且改变要提供至所述显示面板的电源电压的电平。

现在将详细参考本发明的实施方式进行描述,附图中图解了这些实施方式的一些例子。
下文中,将参照附图描述本发明的实施方式。
<第一实施方式>
图1是图解根据本发明第一实施方式的显示装置的框图,图2是图解图1中所示的子像素的构造的示图。
如图1中所示,显示装置包括主机系统1000、时序控制器170、数据驱动器130、电源单元140、栅极驱动器150和显示面板110。
主机系统1000包括内置有缩放器的芯片上系统(SoC),主机系统1000将输入图像的数字视频数据转换成适于在显示面板110上显示图像的数据信号并输出数据信号。主机系统1000将各种时序信号连同数据信号一起提供至时序控制器170。
时序控制器170基于从主机系统1000接收的诸如垂直同步信号、水平同步信号、数据使能信号和主时钟之类的时序信号控制数据驱动器130和栅极驱动器150的操作时序。时序控制器170对从主机系统1000接收的数据信号执行图像处理(例如,数据补偿)并将得到的信号提供至数据驱动器130。
数据驱动器130响应于从时序控制器170输出的第一驱动信号DDC进行操作。数据驱动器130将从时序控制器170接收的数字格式的数据信号DATA转换成模拟格式的数据信号并输出得到的信号。
响应于设置在数据驱动器130内部或外部的伽马单元135的伽马电压GMA,数据驱动器130将数字格式的数据信号DATA转换成模拟格式的数据信号。数据驱动器130将数据信号提供至显示面板110的数据线DL1到DLn。
栅极驱动器150响应于从时序控制器170输出的第二驱动信号GDC进行操作。响应于第二驱动信号GDC,栅极驱动器150输出栅极高电压或栅极低电压的栅极信号(或扫描信号)。
栅极驱动器150可沿向前或向后的方向按顺序输出栅极信号。栅极驱动器150将栅极信号提供至显示面板110的栅极线GL1到GLm。
电源单元140输出用于驱动显示面板110的第一和第二电源电压、以及用于驱动数据驱动器130的第三和第四电源电压。此外,电源单元140产生驱动显示面板110所需的电压,比如要被传输至栅极驱动器150的栅极高电压和栅极低电压。
显示面板110包括子像素SP、连接至子像素SP的数据线DL1到DLn、以及连接至子像素SP的栅极线GL1到GLm。显示面板110响应于从栅极驱动器150输出的栅极信号和从数据驱动器130输出的数据信号DATA显示图像。显示面板110包括下基板和上基板。子像素SP形成在下基板与上基板之间。
如图2中所示,一个子像素包括连接至栅极线GL1和数据线DL1(或形成在栅极线GL1与数据线DL1的交叉部分处)的开关薄膜晶体管SW、以及响应于通过开关薄膜晶体管SW提供的数据信号DATA而操作的像素电路PC。
根据子像素SP的像素电路PC的构造,显示面板110由液晶显示面板或有机发光显示面板实现。当显示面板110由液晶显示面板实现时,显示面板110以扭曲向列(TN)模式、垂直取向(VA)模式、面内切换(IPS)模式、边缘场切换(FFS)模式、或电控双折射(ECB)模式进行操作。
当显示面板110由有机发光显示面板实现时,显示面板110可作为顶部发光型、底部发光型或双侧发光型进行操作。
前述显示装置可由电视、机顶盒、导航系统、视频播放器、蓝光播放器、个人电脑(PC)、可穿戴装置、家庭影院、移动电话等实现。
此外,显示装置的显示面板可选自液晶显示面板、有机发光显示面板、电泳指示显示器、量子点显示面板和等离子体显示面板。为了便于描述,作为显示装置的显示面板,下面描述有机发光显示面板。
以下描述的显示面板可设置为小尺寸、中尺寸或大尺寸。然而,在下面的内容中,将以小尺寸显示装置作为例子,与中尺寸或大尺寸显示装置相比,小尺寸显示装置更强烈地需要降低功耗。
下文中,作为本发明实施方式的小尺寸显示装置的示例,描述智能手表。此外,子像素是红色子像素、绿色子像素和蓝色子像素(RGB)。然而,本发明的方面不限于此。
图3是图解根据本发明第一实施方式的智能手表的显示装置的框图,图4是图3中所示的智能手表的显示面板的俯视平面图,图5是图解显示面板根据节能方法如何变化的示图。
如图3中所示,智能手表100包括主机系统HS 1000、时序控制器TCON170、数据驱动器DIC 130、电源单元PIC 140、栅极驱动器150和显示面板PNL110。
智能手表100是小尺寸显示装置。小尺寸显示装置的一些部件被集成,以便降低装置的复杂性。例如,电源单元140包括在数据驱动器130中。然而,这只是示例性的,小尺寸显示装置可以以各种方式实现。就是说,在另一示例中,时序控制器170和数据驱动器130可被集成为一体。
此外,栅极驱动器150与像素阵列一起内嵌于显示面板110中。内嵌于显示面板110中的栅极驱动器150通过薄膜晶体管工艺形成为面板内栅极(GIP)型。
智能手表100包括触摸驱动器190,触摸驱动器190是辅助用户施加输入的触摸型输入装置。此外,显示面板110包括触摸传感器和传感器线,触摸传感器使用触摸驱动器190感测触摸输入的位置,传感器线将触摸传感器和触摸驱动器190电连接。
触摸驱动器190利用由自电容触摸传感器或互电容触摸传感器实现的触摸传感器检测手指的触摸位置信息。触摸驱动器190将检测的手指的触摸位置信息传输至主机系统1000。主机系统1000执行与从触摸驱动器190接收的触摸位置信息相关的应用程序。
如图4中所示,显示面板110例如具有圆形形状。然而,这仅仅是示例性的,显示面板110可以是各种形状,比如正方形、矩形、多边形和椭圆形。
红色子像素、绿色子像素和蓝色子像素(R、G、B)以及触摸传感器(未图示)设置在显示面板110的显示区域上。焊盘部111a可设置在显示面板110的非显示区域(或边框区域)BZ上。焊盘部111a被描述为设置在显示区域AA的上部区域中,但其也可设置在显示区域AA的下部区域中。
数据驱动器130安装在柔性印刷电路板(膜)180上。柔性印刷电路板180例如通过各向异性导电膜(ACF)电连接至焊盘部111a。不仅数据驱动器130,驱动显示面板110所需的其他部件也可进一步安装在柔性印刷电路板180上。
如图5中所示,为了改进使用时间(驱动时间),小尺寸或中尺寸显示装置在显示面板上不显示图像的显示关闭时段中暂时关闭显示面板或减小亮度。此外,在该时段中,可降低显示面板的驱动频率。
在图5中,与显示面板上显示图像的显示开启时段对应的时段(a)和(d)可定义为正常模式,因为在该时段中执行正常的驱动操作。另一方面,与显示面板上不显示图像的显示关闭时段对应的时段(b)和(c)可定义为节能模式,因为在该时段中执行节能操作。
近来,显示面板在各种条件下用于各种目的。因而,在努力增加显示装置的使用时间(驱动时间)方面,已进行了很多努力来降低功耗(电流消耗)。然而,仍存在常规方法未解决的一些问题。
下文中,提供与根据本发明第一实施方式的用于降低功耗的节能单元的构造有关的描述。
图6是图解根据本发明第一实施方式的装置的示例的示图,图7是图解根据本发明第一实施方式的变形例的装置示例的示图。
如图6中所示,根据本发明第一实施方式的时序控制器170输出伽马电压变化信号CVREG、第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD和栅极电压变化信号CGVC。
从时序控制器170输出的伽马电压变化信号CVREG、第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD和栅极电压变化信号CGVC传输至数据驱动器130。电源单元140设置在数据驱动器130内部。因此,从时序控制器170输出的伽马电压变化信号CVREG提供至数据驱动器130,而第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD和栅极电压变化信号CGVC提供至电源单元140。栅极驱动器150输出扫描信号SCAN。
如图7中所示,根据本发明第一实施方式的变形例的时序控制器170输出伽马电压变化信号CVREG、第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD和栅极电压变化信号CGVC。
从时序控制器170输出的伽马电压变化信号CVREG提供至数据驱动器130。从时序控制器170输出的第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD和栅极电压变化信号CGVC提供至电源单元140。
数据驱动器130基于第三电源电压VCC和第四电源电压GND产生要提供至伽马单元的基准电压。
如图6和7中所示,伽马电压变化信号CVREG定义为用于改变提供至伽马单元的基准电压的电平的信号(伽马单元被描述为例如包括在数据驱动器中)。第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD定义为用于改变从电源单元140输出的第一电源电压的电平的信号。栅极电压变化信号CGVC定义为用于改变从电源单元140输出的栅极高电压VGH和栅极低电压VGL的电平的信号。
栅极驱动器130响应于伽马电压变化信号CVREG增加或减小要提供至伽马单元的基准电压(例如,VREG1OUT)的电平。如果要提供至伽马单元的基准电压(VREG1OUT)的电平发生变化,则响应于基准电压(例如,VREG1OUT)而分割的电压的电平以及响应于基准电压(例如,VREG1OUT)而转换的数据电压的电平发生变化,因此显示面板的亮度也发生变化。就是说,从数据驱动器130输出的数据信号DATA(下文中,称为数据电压)的电平发生变化。
电源单元140响应于第一电源电压变化信号CEVDD增加或减小第一电源电压EVDD的电平。如果第一电源电压EVDD的电平发生变化,则例如提供至有机发光二极管的驱动电压也发生变化,因此显示面板的亮度也发生变化。
电源单元140响应于栅极电压变化信号CGVC增加或减小栅极高电压VGH和栅极低电压VGL的电平。如果栅极高电压VGH和栅极低电压VGL的电平发生变化,则例如开关晶体管的导通/截止电压发生变化,因此显示面板的亮度也发生变化。
同时,时序控制器可分析输入的数据信号以输出上述变化信号,并且可输出这些变化信号中的至少一个。例如,当在显示面板上显示(1)由重复的静止图像构成的图像、(2)其具体部分(具体线)始终不进行任何显示的图像、(3)用户确定的图像、(4)用于屏保的图像时,时序控制器170可输出上述变化信号。然而,本发明的各方面不限于此。此外,为了以适当时序(区段或时间)输出上述变化信号,时序控制器170可改变其他控制信号。
当显示面板从正常模式转变为节能模式或者从节能模式转变为正常模式时执行装置的前述配置和改变电压电平的操作。
更具体地说,当正常模式转变为节能模式或者节能模式转变为正常模式时,本发明改变驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率,以防止亮度的剧烈变化或图案变化。
为了寻求当驱动模式转变时不会导致亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化和闪光的电压改变方法,使用根据本发明实施方式的电压改变方法对图6中所示的装置进行了实验。下文中,研究实验例的问题,并且描述用于解决问题的本发明的实施方式。

在下面的内容中,电压转变方法在图6中所示的装置上实现,但其可在图7中所示的装置或与此类似的任何装置上实现。
如图8中所示,在实验例中,当驱动模式转变时驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率进行变化,以防止亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化和闪光。
正常模式NOR中每帧的驱动频率为60Hz。如果驱动模式从正常模式NOR转变为节能模式PSM,则每帧的驱动频率逐渐减小。在这种情形中,驱动频率可按照60Hz、30Hz、15Hz和7.5Hz的顺序变化,但本发明的各方面不限于此。
然而,如果驱动模式从输入电流节约模式,即节能模式PSM再次切换至正常模式NOR,则驱动频率可直接返回60Hz或可逐渐增加。在这种情形中,驱动频率可按照与上述顺序相反的7.5Hz、15Hz、30Hz和60Hz的顺序变化,但本发明的各方面不限于此。
在实验例中,当显示面板的驱动模式从正常模式NOR转变为节能模式PSM或者从节能模式PSM转变为正常模式NOR时,驱动频率从高频率变为低频率或者从低频率变为高频率。
根据实验结果,一旦当驱动模式转变时驱动频率发生变化,就识别到亮度的剧烈变化和图案变化,由此导致闪光或闪烁。
为解决此问题,在实验例中(在一帧或两帧期间)亮度发生变化的时段中插入用于显示黑色的时段(黑色显示时段),下面提供其详细描述。
在其中驱动模式从正常模式NOR转变为节能模式PSM的转变时间段TT1或其中驱动模式从节能模式PSM转变为正常模式NOR的转变时间段TT2中插入用于在显示面板上显示黑色的黑色显示时段。在转变时间段TT1和TT2的每一个期间,栅极高电压VGH的电平、第一电源电压EVDD的电平以及基准电压VREG1OUT的电平立即减小。另一方面,在转变时间段TT1和TT2的每一个期间栅极低电压VGL的电平增加。
以栅极高电压VGH设为i.V,第一电源电压EVDD设为h.V,基准电压VREG1OUT和数据电压Source_out的每一个设为处于e.V与d.V之间,并且栅极低电压设为0V以下的-kV为例。如图中所示,i.V是最高的正极性电压,-kV是最低的负极性电压。
如实验例中所示,如果驱动电压的电平在其中驱动模式转变的转变时间段TT1和TT2中进行变化,则解决了亮度的剧烈变化和图案变化,与前面的实验相比稍微有点改进。然而,此方法仅在解决亮度的剧烈变化方面是有效的,其并不能解决在黑色显示时段期间闪光的发生。
总之,驱动电压影响显示面板的亮度,因而立即改变驱动电压的电压改变方法不足以有效解决闪光问题。
如图9中所示,在本发明的第一实施方式中,当驱动模式转变时驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率进行变化,以不导致亮度的剧烈变化和图案变化。
为了以本发明第一实施方式中所示的方式实现显示装置,需要以下列方式驱动装置。
首先,分析输入图像,以确定显示面板的显示模式是否是节能模式(确定步骤)。然后,如果显示面板的显示模式对应于节能模式,则根据图像的特性输出信号,以改变驱动电压以及驱动频率(改变步骤)。下文中,基于波形提供其详细描述。
正常模式NOR中每帧的驱动频率为60Hz。如果驱动模式从正常模式NOR转变为节能模式PSM,则减小每帧的驱动频率。在这种情形中,驱动频率可按照60Hz、30Hz、15Hz和7.5Hz的顺序变化,但本发明的各方面不限于此。
如果节能模式PSM转变为正常模式NOR,则每帧的驱动频率可直接返回至60Hz或可逐渐增加。在这种情形中,驱动频率可按照与上述顺序相反的7.5Hz、15Hz、30Hz和60Hz的顺序变化,但本发明的各方面不限于此。
在其中驱动模式从正常模式NOR转变为节能模式PSM的转变时间段TT1或其中驱动模式从节能模式PSM转变为正常模式NOR的转变时间段TT2中插入用于在显示面板上显示黑色的黑色显示时段。
在转变时间段TT1和TT2的每一个中插入有其中栅极高电压VGH的电平、第一电源电压EVDD的电平以及基准电压VREG1OUT的电平立即减小的时段。另一方面,在转变时间段TT1和TT2中栅极低电压VGL的电平增加。
以其中栅极高电压VGH设为i.V,第一电源电压EVDD设为h.V,基准电压VREG1OUT和数据电压设为处于e.V与d.V之间的电压,并且栅极低电压VGL设为0V以下的-kV为例。
如图中所示,i.V是最高的正极性电压,-kV是最低的负极性电压。由于上述电压,显示面板的亮度在正常模式NOR中可表现为400尼特(nit)并且在转变时间段TT1和TT2中表现为0尼特。然而,本发明的各方面不限于此。
在第一实施方式中,在其中驱动模式转变的转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时段中驱动电压的电平逐渐变化。例如,在转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时段中基准电压VREG1OUT的电平逐渐变化。第一转变时间段TT1位于节能模式PSM的起点处,第二转变时间段TT2位于正常模式NOR的起点处。
在正常模式NOR中,在用于进入节能模式PSM的第一转变时间段TT1之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以获得A1梯度(AS1)。在第一转变时间段TT1之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以获得A2梯度(AS2)。
在输入电流节约模式即节能模式PSM中,栅极高电压VGH和第一电源电压EVDD比之前减小,而栅极低电压VGL比之前增加。因此,在输入电流节约模式即节能模式PSM中,基准电压VREG1OUT可在节能模式PSM中设为保持在所减小的电平。然而,如图中所示,基准电压VREG1OUT可设为在预定时间段保持为与正常模式NOR的电平相同。在这种情形中,与第一转变时间段TT1相比,显示面板的亮度可稍微进一步增加(示例:0尼特->40尼特)。
在其中节能模式PSM进入正常模式NOR的第二转变时间段TT2之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A3梯度(AS3)。在第二转变时间段TT2之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A4梯度(AS4)。
在正常模式NOR中,栅极高电压VGH和第一电源电压EVDD比之前增加,栅极低电压VGL比之前减小。因此,在正常模式NOR中,栅极高电压VGH、第一电源电压EVDD、基准电压VREG1OUT和栅极低电压VGL全都返回至驱动显示面板所需的一般正常水平。
如上所述,在本发明第一实施方式中的驱动模式的转变的情形中,通过调节(dimming)驱动电压以及驱动频率而进行渐变。根据实验结果,本发明的第一实施方式证实这种平稳模式转变解决了由亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化、闪烁或闪光导致的问题。
除上述功能以外,本发明的第一实施方式还能够增加当调节驱动电压时增加电压电平的功能、以及响应于具体电压执行开启/关闭操作的功能。此外,当调节驱动电压时可添加帧选项(frame option),因而可以以N帧为单位(N为等于或大于1的整数)或者根据用户对驱动模式的转变来执行调节。
此外,可选择用在黑色显示时段中的帧数量(这意味着可改变黑色显示时段)。此外,通过插入关闭选项,可去除黑色显示时段。在用于去除黑色显示时段的黑色转变关闭操作中,可使闪光的发生最小化。
下文中,描述驱动频率和驱动电压逐渐变化的其他实施方式。然而,随后的其他实施方式是基于第一实施方式的,因而主要描述与第一实施方式的区别。
<第二实施方式>
如图10中所示,在第二实施方式中,当驱动模式转变时驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率发生变化,以防止亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化和闪光。
在第二实施方式中,在其中驱动模式转变的转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中,驱动电压的电平逐渐变化。例如,在转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT的电平和第一电源电压EVDD的电平逐渐变化。第一转变时间段TT1位于节能模式PSM的起点处,第二转变时间段TT2位于正常模式NOR的起点处。
在其中正常模式NOR进入节能模式PSM的第一转变时间段TT1之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A1梯度(AS1)。此外,第一电源电压EVDD逐渐减小,以具有B1梯度(BS1)。
在第一转变时间段TT1之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A2梯度(AS2)。第一电源电压EVDD减小至目标降低电平并且在节能模式PSM中保持目标降低电平。目标降低电平是低于正常模式NOR中的电压的任意电压,目标降低电平通过预备实验被确定为具有适当的电压值。
在其中节能模式PSM进入正常模式NOR的第二转变时间段TT2之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A3梯度(AS3)。此外,第一电源电压EVDD逐渐增加,以具有B2梯度(BS2)。
在第二转变时间段TT2之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A4梯度(AS4)。第一电源电压EVDD保持为正常模式NOR中的原始电压电平。
在上面的描述中,B1梯度(BS1)比B2梯度(BS2)陡。然而,这仅仅是举例说明,B1梯度(BS1)和B2梯度(BS2)可根据显示面板的显示方法或优化程序在至少一个时段中变化。
<第三实施方式>
如图11中所示,在第三实施方式中,当驱动模式转变时驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率发生变化,以防止亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化和闪光。
在第三实施方式中,在其中驱动模式转变的转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中驱动电压的电平逐渐变化。例如,在转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT的电平逐渐变化,第一电源电压EVDD的电平立即变化。第一转变时间段TT1位于节能模式PSM的起点处,第二转变时间段TT2位于节能模式PSM的终点处。
在第一转变时间段TT1之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A1梯度(AS1)。第一电源电压EVDD立即减小。在第一转变时间段TT1之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A2梯度(AS2)。第一电源电压EVDD减小至目标降低电平并且在节能模式PSM中保持目标降低电平。
在第二转变时间段TT2之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A3梯度(AS3)。第一电源电压EVDD立即增加,以保持为原始电平。在第二转变时间段TT2之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A4梯度(AS4)。第一电源电压EVDD保持为原始电平。
<第四实施方式>
如图12中所示,在第四实施方式中,当驱动模式转变时驱动电压的电平以及驱动频率发生变化,以防止亮度的剧烈变化、图案变化和闪光。
在第四实施方式中,在其中驱动模式转变的转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中驱动电压的电平逐渐变化。例如,在转变时间段TT1和TT2之前和之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT的电平和第一电源电压EVDD的电平逐渐变化。第一转变时间段TT1位于节能模式PSM的起点处,第二转变时间段TT2位于节能模式PSM的终点处。
在第一转变时间段TT1之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A1梯度(AS1)。第一电源电压EVDD逐渐减小,以具有B1梯度(BS1)。
在第一转变时间段TT1之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A2梯度(AS2)。第一电源电压EVDD减小至目标降低电平并且在节能模式PSM中保持目标降低电平。
在第二转变时间段TT2之前的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐减小,以具有A3梯度(AS3)。第一电源电压EVDD逐渐增加,以对应于其中基准电压VREG1OUT的变化完成的时段而具有B2梯度(BS2)。B2梯度(BS2)具有比B1梯度(BS1)缓的梯度角。
在第二转变时间段TT2之后的时间段中,基准电压VREG1OUT逐渐增加,以具有A4梯度(AS4)。第一电源电压EVDD从基准电压VREG1OUT的电平开始增加的点到基准电压VREG1OUT的电平结束增加的点逐渐增加。
如本发明的第一到第四实施方式中所示,每个转变时间段TT1或TT2的位置、第一电源电压EVDD的梯度以及基准电压VREG1OUT的梯度通过平稳模式转变、显示面板的显示方法或优化程序而变化。例如,第一转变时间段TT1和第二转变时间段TT2的位置可进行变化。此外,第一电源电压EVDD的电平进行变化的B1梯度(BS1)和B2梯度(BS2)可变为彼此相同或不同。此外,基准电压VREG1OUT的电平进行变化的A1梯度(AS1)和A2梯度(AS2)可变为彼此相同或不同。
如上所述,本发明能够防止在为了节能的目的转变显示面板的驱动模式时的闪光或闪烁,并且能够平稳地转变驱动模式(或改变屏幕)。此外,本发明通过调节驱动电压以及驱动频率能够降低功耗并提高显示质量。

Claims (8)

1.一种显示装置,包括:
配置成显示图像的显示面板;
配置成向所述显示面板提供数据信号的数据驱动器;
配置成向所述显示面板提供栅极信号的栅极驱动器;
电源单元,所述电源单元配置成输出要提供至所述显示面板的电源电压;
伽马单元,所述伽马单元配置成向所述数据驱动器提供伽马电压;和
节能单元,所述节能单元配置成控制所述电源单元,以响应于所述显示面板的显示模式改变所述电源电压的电平,
其中所述节能单元输出伽马电压变化信号,以在所述显示面板的显示模式从正常模式转变为节能模式或者从节能模式转变为正常模式的转变时段之前的时段中逐渐减小伽马单元的基准电压的电平,并且在所述转变时段之后的时段中逐渐增加伽马单元的基准电压的电平。
2.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中所述节能单元输出电源电压变化信号,以在所述显示面板的显示模式从正常模式转变为节能模式的转变时段之前的时段中或者在所述显示面板的显示模式从节能模式转变为正常模式的转变时段之后的时段中逐渐减小或逐渐增加所述电源电压的电平。
3.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中所述节能单元输出电源电压变化信号,以在所述显示面板的显示模式从正常模式转变为节能模式或者从节能模式转变为正常模式的时段中立即减小或立即增加所述电源电压的电平。
4.如权利要求2或3所述的显示装置,其中所述电源电压的电平在所述显示面板的显示模式发生转变的时段中减小至目标电平,然后在节能模式中保持在所述目标电平。
5.如权利要求2或3所述的显示装置,其中所述显示面板在所述显示面板的显示模式发生转变的时段中具有显示黑色的转变时段。
6.如权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中所述节能单元输出下列信号之一:
改变所述电源电压的电平的电源电压变化信号;
伽马电压变化信号,所述伽马电压变化信号改变伽马单元的基准电压的电平;和
栅极电压变化信号,所述栅极电压变化信号改变所述栅极信号的栅极高电压和栅极低电压的电平。
7.一种显示装置的驱动方法,包括:
确定显示面板的显示模式是否为节能模式,并且响应于所述显示面板的显示模式是节能模式的确定结果,改变驱动频率和驱动电压,
其中改变驱动频率和驱动电压包括:
控制电源单元,以减小驱动频率并且改变要提供至所述显示面板的电源电压的电平;和
在所述显示面板的显示模式从正常模式转变为节能模式或者从节能模式转变为正常模式的转变时段之前的时段中逐渐减小伽马单元的基准电压的电平,并且在所述转变时段之后的时段中逐渐增加伽马单元的基准电压的电平,所述伽马单元向数据驱动器提供所述伽马电压。
8.如权利要求7所述的驱动方法,其中改变驱动频率和驱动电压包括:在所述显示面板的显示模式从正常模式转变为节能模式的转变时段之前的时段中或者在所述显示面板的显示模式从节能模式转变为正常模式的转变时段之后的时段中,逐渐减小或逐渐增加所述电源电压的电平。
