Abstract

本发明提供一种显示单元,该显示单元具备:背光灯,其被配置于显示面板的背面侧;生成用于所述显示面板进行显示的显示用信号的电路;背光灯消耗电力取得单元,其取得与所述背光灯用电源的消耗电力相关的信息;判别单元,其根据由该背光灯消耗电力取得单元取得的与背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息,来判别显示面板的尺寸;以及存储单元,其存储有用于生成与所述显示面板的尺寸对应的显示用信号的设定值,根据通过所述判别单元判别出的显示面板的尺寸,从所述存储单元读出用于生成显示用信号的设定值,并设定给所述显示控制器,不依赖显示面板的尺寸地共用显示控制印制板。

显示单元
技术领域
本发明涉及一种显示单元。
背景技术
如日本特开2011-203399号公报所示那样,组合显示面板和控制显示面板的控制电路而得的显示单元是公知的技术。
如图1所示,显示面板10由光源2(LED背光灯)和液晶面板3(导光板4、偏光滤光片5、阵列基板6、液晶7、公共透明电极8、滤色片9)构成。
显示面板10使由LED背光灯的光源2发出的光通过液晶面板3,遮挡一部分光,使一部分光透过,由此进行有颜色或对比度的显示。为了遮挡一部分光,或使一部分光透过,需要驱动液晶面板3,为了驱动液晶面板3而在显示面板10上安装有驱动控制电路。
向驱动控制电路的输入信号,针对显示面板10的每种尺寸,规格(分辨率(显示于画面的像素数)、点时钟(成为每1个像素的转发基准的时钟)、水平扫描频率(在1秒内能够显示的被更新的行数)、垂直扫描频率(在1秒内被更新的画面数))不同。因此,一般针对每种尺寸变更用于控制驱动控制电路的显示控制器的设定来进行显示。
此外,在LED背光灯的光源2的电流源中,恒流电路或恒压电路成为电源电路。如图2所示,显示单元1由进行显示的显示面板10、控制向显示面板10发送的显示用信号和LED背光灯的光源2的显示控制印制板11、用于固定它们的固定用金属板20构成。省略了显示单元1的壳体部分的图示。
在显示控制印制板11上安装有生成显示控制信号的显示控制器12、对显示控制器12进行设定的中央运算处理装置(以下,称为CPU13)、存储有显示面板10的设定值的存储器14、LED背光灯电源电路15。
在显示控制印制板11上生成的显示用信号,从显示控制印制板11的显示用信号连接器16通过显示用信号电缆17被转发到显示面板10(参照图3的符号24)。在显示控制印制板11上生成的LED背光灯电源,从LED背光灯用连接器18通过LED背光灯用电缆19被供给到显示面板10(参照图3的符号25)。
显示面板10根据其尺寸,分辨率(显示于画面的像素数)、点时钟(成为每1个像素的转发基准的时钟)、水平扫描频率(在1秒内能够显示的被更新的行数)、垂直扫描频率(在1秒内被更新的画面数)不同,因此为了进行正确地显示,需要生成符合显示面板10的规格的显示用信号,发送给显示面板10。在显示用信号不符合显示面板10的规格的情况下,无法进行正确的显示。
在图3中表示显示控制印制板11的结构和处理。CPU13读入显示面板10的识别信息(以下,称为ID)(符号21),从存储器14读入与该ID对应的设定值(符号22),对显示控制器12进行分辨率、点时钟、水平扫描频率、垂直扫描频率等的设定(符号23)。显示控制器12按照所设定的值,生成显示用信号,发送到显示面板10(符号24)。
显示面板10不具有自身的ID,因此CPU13无法从图1的显示用信号连接器16读入显示面板10的ID。而是需要在显示控制印制板11上安装用于识别显示面板10的ID的电路,使CPU13进行读取。在该情况下,按照要组合的显示面板10的种类,需要显示控制印制板11的种类。在显示控制印制板11的种类增多的情况下,制造时需要进行与要出厂的显示单元1的种类对应的生产管理。此外,组装显示单元1时也有可能弄错显示控制印制板11。维护时,根据显示单元1的显示面板10的尺寸而显示控制印制板11不同,因此维护部件的数量增加。此外,更换时也有可能弄错显示控制印制板11。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种不依赖显示面板的尺寸,而能够共用显示控制印制板的显示单元。
本发明的显示单元具有:背光灯,其被配置于显示面板的背面侧;以及显示控制器,其具有生成用于所述显示面板进行显示的显示用信号的电路,该显示单元具备:背光灯消耗电力取得单元,其取得与所述背光灯用电源的消耗电力相关的信息;判别单元,其根据由该背光灯消耗电力取得单元取得的与背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息,来判别显示面板的尺寸;以及存储单元,其存储有用于生成与所述显示面板的尺寸对应的显示用信号的设定值,根据通过所述判别单元判别出的显示面板的尺寸,从所述存储单元读出用于生成显示用信号的设定值,并设定给所述显示控制器。
根据本发明,能够提供一种不依赖显示面板的尺寸,而能够共用显示控制印制板的显示单元。
此外,与所述背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息,可以是对所述背光灯的电源安装测定用电阻而求出的物理量,或是对所述背光灯的电源安装电流传感器而求出的物理量。

具体实施方式
以下,与附图一起说明本发明的实施方式。另外,对于与现有技术相同或类似的结构使用相同符号来进行说明。
显示面板10如图1所示,由光源2(背光灯)、导光板4、偏光滤光片5、阵列基板6、液晶7、公共透明电极8以及滤色片9构成。近年来,大多情况下在作为光源2的背光灯中使用消耗电力较少的LED,该LED背光灯的消耗电流根据显示面板10的尺寸而显著不同,因此可以通过取得与该背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息来确定显示面板10的尺寸。
在使用了LED背光灯的显示面板10中,与背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息即背光灯消耗电流根据显示面板10的尺寸而显著不同。为了解决本发明的课题,测定根据显示面板10而具有显著差异的LED背光灯消耗电流,根据其检测结果来进行显示面板的尺寸的识别。由此,能够与显示面板的尺寸无关地共用显示控制印制板。
以下表示确认过程。图4是本发明的控制印制板的功能框图。
(1)接通装置的电源后,位于显示控制印制板11上的LED背光灯电流测定电路26测定LED背光灯(光源2)的消耗电流。
(2)电流测定电路将电流的测定结果输出到CPU13。
(3)CPU13根据由电流测定电路26测定出的测定值来确定显示面板的尺寸。
(4)CPU13从存储器14读入所确定的显示面板的设定值。
(5)CPU13向显示控制器12设定从存储器14读入的设定值。
图5是在对测定用电阻两端的电压进行测定的情况下,背光灯电流值的测定方法的例子。在向背光灯输出的电源电压的配线图案上串联连接测定用电阻。
(1)电流流向背光灯,通过电压测定电路27对测定用电阻28两端的电压进行测定。
(2)通过AD转换等将测定出的电压值转换为由CPU13读入的数据,向CPU13发送测定结果。
(3)CPU13从存储器14读入电压值与显示面板的尺寸的对比数据,比较对比数据与(2)的测定结果,判断显示面板尺寸。
(4)CPU13从存储器14读入所确定的显示面板的显示控制器12的设定值。
(5)设定显示控制器12。
图6是在利用电流传感器IC进行测定的情况下,背光灯电流值的测定方法的例子。在向背光灯输出的电源的图案上串联连接包含电流传感器IC的电流测定电路。
(1)电流流向背光灯,通过电流测定电路29测定消耗电流。
(2)通过AD转换等将测定出的电流值转换为由CPU13读入的数据,向CPU13发送测定结果。
(3)CPU13从存储器14读入电压值与显示面板的尺寸的对比数据,比较对比数据与(2)的测定结果,判断显示面板尺寸。
(4)CPU13从存储器14读入所确定的显示面板的显示控制器12的设定值。
(5)设定显示控制器12。

Claims (2)

1.一种显示单元,具有:背光灯,其被配置于显示面板的背面侧;以及显示控制器,其具有生成用于所述显示面板进行显示的显示用信号的电路,其特征在于,该显示单元具备:
背光灯消耗电力取得单元,其取得与所述背光灯用的电源的消耗电力相关的信息;
判别单元,其根据由该背光灯消耗电力取得单元取得的与背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息来判别显示面板的尺寸;以及
存储单元,其存储有用于生成与所述显示面板的尺寸对应的显示用信号的设定值,
根据通过所述判别单元判别出的显示面板的尺寸,从所述存储单元读出用于生成显示用信号的设定值,并设定给所述显示控制器。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示单元,其特征在于,
与所述背光灯的消耗电力相关的信息是对所述背光灯的电源安装测定用电阻而求出的物理量,或是对所述背光灯的电源安装电流传感器而求出的物理量。
