背景技术

参照图1至图4,本发明的显示装置包括显示面板100、电力模块200、定时控制器300、栅极驱动ICGIC和源极驱动IC500。

每个栅极驱动ICGIC包括栅极脉冲发生器400和栅极脉冲调制器GPM。
栅极脉冲发生器400包括移位寄存器410、电平移位器420、缓冲器430和输出部440。移位寄存器410根据栅极移位时钟GSC,通过使用级联的多个触发器(flipflops)顺序地将栅极起始脉冲GSP移位。电平移位器420将移位寄存器410的输出改变成显示面板上的TFT可以运行的电压电平。
第一栅极脉冲调制器GPM1对由第一栅极脉冲发生器400-1生成的栅极脉冲Gout的电压电平进行调制。图5是示出了由栅极脉冲调制器GPM调制的栅极脉冲的视图。如图所示,栅极脉冲调制器GPM改变了栅极脉冲Gout的下降斜率。图5中示出的用于改变栅极脉冲Gout的下降斜率的信号(下文中,GPM)的操作是公知技术,所以将省略其详细描述。

在第二时间段t2期间,第一栅极脉冲调制器GPM1的第二晶体管T12响应于逻辑部LOGIC1的输出而导通。在第二晶体管T12导通的情况下,栅极脉冲发生器400的输出部440的输出电压经由第二晶体管T12而放电。即,在第二时间段t2期间,栅极脉冲Gout的电压电平从第一电压电平VGH逐渐减小至第二电压电平VGH2,从而生成GPM信号。
如上所述,通过这个过程,通过GPM控制信号GPM使能来停用(关断)第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2的逻辑部LOGIC。
替代于第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2,第二栅极驱动ICGIC2通过使用第一栅极脉冲调制器GPM1来生成GPM信号。
下面将讨论用于第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的GPM信号生成的电压放电路径。
每个栅极驱动ICGIC通过形成在显示面板100上的导电焊盘PAD而连接。在每个栅极驱动ICGIC内形成有第一导电图案L21和第二导电图案L22。第一导电焊盘PAD1将第一栅极脉冲调制器GPM1的第一输出端子n1与第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2的第二输出端子n2连接。第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第一导电图案L21将第一导电焊盘PAD1与第二输出端子n2连接。
因此,第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第二输出部440-2通过如下第一路径pass1接收高电压并输出栅极脉冲:所述第一路径pass1将第一栅极驱动ICGIC1的栅极脉冲调制器GPM的第一输出端子n1、导电焊盘PAD1以及第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第一导电图案L21连接。
第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第二输出部440-2通过经由如下第二路径pass2发出第一电压电平VGH的栅极脉冲来生成GPM信号:该第二路径pass2将第一导电图案L21、第一导电焊盘PAD1以及第一栅极脉冲调制器GPM1的输出和第一测程线RE连接。
第二栅极驱动ICGIC2的第二导电图案L22将第一导电焊盘PAD1与第三栅极驱动ICGIC3电连接。
这样,第二栅极驱动ICGIC2和第三栅极驱动ICGIC3可以在不启用第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2和第三栅极脉冲调制器GPM3的情况下分别生成GPM信号。即,如图2所示,根据本发明的示例性实施方式的显示装置可以在第一测程线与第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2和第三栅极脉冲调制器GPM3不连接的情况下工作。因此,与图6中示出的比较例相比,显示面板的设置有第一测程线的区域可以减小,在该比较例中,所有栅极驱动ICGIC的栅极脉冲调制器GPM被启用。
此外,在图6中示出的比较例中,将所有栅极驱动ICGIC的第一测程线RE通过印刷电路板PCB一起连接至低电压VGL源。因此,将所有栅极驱动ICGIC与低电压源连接的第一测程线RE具有不同的电阻值。例如,如图7所示,如果第三栅极驱动ICGIC3的第一测程线RE的电阻值为R,则第一栅极驱动ICGIC1的第一测程线RE的电阻值为3R。即,因为基于具有不同电阻值的第一测程线RE生成GPM信号,所以每个栅极驱动IC输出具有不同波形的GPM信号。因此,由于栅极脉冲延迟时间的差异,所以栅极驱动ICGIC控制的面板块PB1至PB3发生块变暗(blockdimming)。
相反,在本发明的示例性实施方式中,所有栅极驱动ICGIC通过第一栅极驱动ICGIC1的第一测程线RE生成GPM信号,因此可以避免由于栅极驱动ICGIC的第一测程线的不同电阻值所引起的栅极脉冲延迟时间的差异。
此外,本发明的第二栅极驱动ICGIC2和第三栅极驱动ICGIC3可以通过第一导电焊盘PAD1和第二导电焊盘PAD2而与第一栅极驱动ICGIC1的栅极脉冲调制器GPM1连接。
在图6中示出的比较例中,第二栅极驱动ICGIC2通过第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2的第一晶体管T21接收高电压。因此,由于第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2的第一晶体管T21的导通电阻,所以第二栅极驱动ICGIC2和第一栅极驱动ICGIC1之间存在栅极脉冲输出偏离。
另一方面,根据本发明的示例性实施方式的第二栅极驱动ICGIC2可以通过第一导电图案L21和导电焊盘PAD1生成GPM信号。这可以消除晶体管的导通电阻。
本发明的前述示例性实施方式已经对每个栅极驱动ICGIC配备有栅极脉冲调制器GPM的示例进行了描述。即,本发明的示例性实施方式可以应用于以下常规显示装置:该常规显示装置使用均配备有栅极脉冲调制器GPM的栅极驱动ICGIC。
虽然未示出,但是本发明可以包括第二栅极驱动ICGIC2和第三栅极驱动ICGIC3未配备有第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2和第三栅极脉冲调制器GPM3的示例性实施方式。省略了第二栅极脉冲调制器GPM2和第三栅极脉冲调制器GPM3的这种示例性实施方式可以避免第一测程线RE之间的电阻的差异以及第一晶体管之间的导通电阻的差异。

Claims (6)

1.一种显示装置,包括:
显示面板,其包括第一栅极块和第二栅极块,在所述第一栅极块中设置有第一栅极线组,在所述第二栅极块中设置有第二栅极线组;
第一栅极驱动集成电路IC,其用于生成提供至所述第一栅极线组的第一栅极脉冲;以及
第二栅极驱动IC,其用于生成提供至所述第二栅极线组的第二栅极脉冲,
其中,所述第一栅极驱动IC包括:
用于输出处于第一电压电平的所述第一栅极脉冲的第一栅极脉冲发生器;以及
用于部分地调制所述第一栅极脉冲的第一栅极脉冲调制器。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述第一栅极脉冲调制器包括反相器,所述反相器包括:
第一晶体管,所述第一晶体管与高电压源VGH连接,以向所述第一栅极脉冲发生器提供所述第一电压电平;以及
与低电压源VGL连接的第二晶体管,
其中,所述低电压源VGL通过所述显示面板上的第一测程线与所述第二晶体管连接。
3.根据权利要求2所述的显示装置,其中,所述第一栅极脉冲发生器通过所述第一栅极驱动IC和所述第一测程线与所述低电压源连接。
4.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述第二栅极驱动IC包括:
用于输出处于所述第一电压电平的栅极脉冲的第二栅极脉冲发生器;以及
第二栅极脉冲调制器,其用于部分地调制从所述第二栅极脉冲发生器输出的栅极脉冲的电压电平,
其中,所述显示装置还包括定时控制器,所述定时控制器输出用于启用所述第一栅极脉冲调制器并且禁用所述第二栅极脉冲调制器的栅极脉冲调制GPM控制信号。
5.根据权利要求4所述的显示装置,还包括第一导电焊盘,所述第一导电焊盘形成在所述第二栅极驱动IC的一侧上,并且与所述第一栅极驱动IC电连接,
其中,所述第一导电焊盘与所述第一栅极脉冲调制器的输出端子以及所述第二栅极脉冲调制器的输出端子连接。
6.根据权利要求5所述的显示装置,还包括第三栅极驱动IC,所述第三栅极驱动IC包括第三栅极脉冲发生器和第三栅极脉冲调制器,
其中,所述显示面板还包括将所述第一导电焊盘与所述第三栅极驱动IC连接的第二导电焊盘。
