Abstract

Description
本发明涉及一种用于纳入器件中的在透明导电电极上产生的界面层。
已知许多电子器件与光的产生或改变有关并且包含位于两个基本上平坦的电极之间的活性区域。为了便于来自(或至)器件的光透射,至少一个电极必须是透明的。
这样的器件包括有机发光二极管(OLED)以及电致变色器件。
在OLED中,包含一个或多个有机化合物层的发射场致发光层位于电极之间,并且在响应外加电压时发射光。
在电致变色器件中,组合呈现出电致变色性质的材料堆叠体位于电极之间,并且在响应外加电压时改变颜色和/或不透明度。
通常通过如下方法制作本发明所涉及的类型的器件:提供透明传导电极,其包含透明基材和传导涂层堆叠体,并且在其上建立包含器件的活性区域和另外的电极(其也可以是透明的)的连续层。透明传导电极通常通过在基材上沉积涂层的传导堆叠体来实现,使用技术例如化学气相沉积(CVD)技术,其对于所属领域的技术人员是熟知的,例如参见US7,968,201。
传导堆叠体通常包含透明传导氧化物(TCO)即掺杂的金属氧化物作为最上层(即离基材最远的层)。除了提供必要的电性质和机械稳定性之外,TCO还应该提供合适的表面,用于在制作器件的其余部分时沉积另外的层。透明传导氧化物材料的例子包括氟掺杂的氧化锡(SnO2:F),掺杂有铝、镓或硼的氧化锌(ZnO:Al,ZnO:Ga,ZnO:B),掺杂有锡的氧化铟(ITO)以及锡酸镉。
令人遗憾的是,这些表面可为固有地粗糙的,这可造成局部的短路,其自一个区域向离短路点至多几毫米处引出电流。这导致所不需要的美观影响,以及降低器件的性能。
此外,在TCO上沉积的器件中的缺陷例如针孔可导致类似的问题。
本发明解决了这两个问题。
根据本发明,透明电极包含所附的权利要求1中所提出的特征。
发明人显示了在电极堆叠体(TCO)的顶部和器件的活性区域之间的薄界面层的纳入克服了与TCO的粗糙相关的问题。界面层材料的例子包括TiO2、SiO2、SnO2、ZnO以及包括任何这些的混合物。当包括这样的界面层时所获得的优良器件性能是出乎预料的,因为这些材料具有高的电阻。
在一个优选实施方案中,该界面层包含厚度大于5nm的TiO2层。

优选地,界面层选自TiO2、SiO2和ZnO。更优选地,界面层包含厚度小于5nm的TiO2。

参照图1,本发明所涉及的类型的透明传导电极通常包含玻璃基材1,该玻璃基材支承涂层2、3和4的导电堆叠体。在所示的例子中,基于NSG的TECTM系列的涂覆玻璃,该堆叠体包含SnO2底层2和SiO2底层3以及SnO2:F的TCO层4。
TCO层4通常具有粗糙表面(但是这里为了说明性的目的,粗糙度的比例被夸大),其可在器件工作期间导致如先前提及的问题。
参照图2,根据本发明的电致变色器件包含透明电极1-4,离子储存层5,离子导体(电解质)层6,电致变色材料层7以及另外的透明传导层8。通常还会包括透明材料例如玻璃或塑料的另外层9。
在工作期间,在透明传导层4和8之间施加电势,其引起在电致变色层和离子储存层7和5中发生氧化还原反应,通过穿过离子导体层6的离子迁移进行电荷补偿。通常,在离子导体层6中使用Li+离子。
这些反应伴随有电致变色层7的颜色/透射的变化。
可以通过所属领域的技术人员熟知的技术来沉积各种层,例如溅射、PECVD(等离子体增强化学气相沉积)或溶液沉积。此外,本领域技术人员将意识到,一些电致变色器件可以将附加层纳入在该例子中所示的那些中。
根据本发明,该器件在TCO层4和离子储存层5之间纳入另外的界面层10。在这个例子中,界面层包含TiO2并且包括该界面层减轻了与TCO层4的粗糙度相关的问题。
参照图3,根据本发明的OLED器件包含透明电极1-4,空穴注入层(HIL)11,空穴传输层(HTL)12,一个或多个发射层13,空穴阻挡层(HBL)14,电子传输层(ETL)15和另外的电极16。
在工作期间,在电极之间施加电压并且发射层的区域中的电子空穴重组产生“电子空穴对”(电子-空穴组合的结合状态),其在衰减时产生可见区域内的发射。由此产生的光穿过透明基材1离开器件。
根据本发明,该器件在TCO层4和HIL5之间纳入另外的界面层10。在这个例子中,界面层包含TiO2并且包括该界面层减轻了与TCO层4的粗糙度相关的问题。
实施例1-9
在3.2mm玻璃基材上制备一系列样品。每个样品包含不同厚度的SiO2(仅实施例9)/SnO2/SiO2/SnO2:F层的堆叠体,其中顶部是TiO2、SnO2或SiO2的界面层。在表1中详细描述了样品(层厚度以埃计),连同观察的薄层电阻和透射率的指示。

注意到TiO2和SiO2的电阻率均超过1MΩ.cm。当将这些堆叠体纳入实际器件中时,透射值可能变化,因为反射率受邻近的层影响。
实施例10
在玻璃基材上沉积透明传导氧化物,具有玻璃/SnO2(60nm)/SiO2(15nm)SnO2:F(720nm)的结构。在顶部沉积25nm的未掺杂的氧化锡。表2显示了具有和没有额外的未掺杂的氧化锡层的性质。出乎预料的是,涂层的薄层电阻基本上不受添加高电阻层的影响。

实施例11-16
进行一系列实验以在各种基材上沉积ZnO层从而进一步调查这种材料作为根据本发明的界面层的适合性。
对于实施例11-15,利用如图4所示的“动态”实验室规模涂覆机完成沉积。在这个装置中,预混合的前体在它们到达挡板工段18之前朝向穿过加热线17的涂覆机移动,挡板工段18在前体流进入密封的涂覆工段之前使前体流均衡。玻璃基材19位于在加热的碳块20上,其使用插入碳块内部的加热元件(未示出)或者通过围绕密封的涂覆工段的感应线圈(未示出)被加热至所需的温度。随后将任何未反应的前体或者副产物引导至鱼尾排气装置21并且继续朝向焚烧炉22。箭头表示气体混合物移动的方向。

Claims (12)
1.被纳入电致变色器件中或有机发光二极管中的透明传导电极,包含:
位于透明基材上的导电涂层堆叠体,该堆叠体从该透明基材按顺序包含:
至少两个底层(2,3),其中底层之一包含SnO2层并且另一底层包含SiO2层;和
直接位于该至少两个底层上的透明传导氧化物层(4)即TCO层,其中该TCO层包含具有2300埃至3400埃的厚度的氟掺杂的氧化锡;并且
其中该电极包含直接位于该TCO层上的界面层(10),并且
其中该界面层包含TiO2、SiO2、SnO2或ZnO的层,并且
其中该透明传导电极包含在13.6至20.0ohm/sq范围内的薄层电阻。
2.根据权利要求1所述的电极,其中该界面层包含厚度大于5nm的TiO2层。
3.根据权利要求1所述的电极,其中该界面层包含ZnO,厚度在25和80nm之间。
4.制造根据权利要求1至3中任一项的用于电致变色器件或有机发光二极管的透明传导电极的方法,包括以下步骤:
i)在透明基材上沉积至少两个底层,其中底层之一包含SnO2层并且另一底层包含SiO2层;
ii)在该至少两个底层上直接沉积透明传导氧化物层即TCO层,其中该TCO层包含具有2300埃至3400埃的厚度的氟掺杂的氧化锡;并且
其特征在于在该TCO层上沉积界面层,其中该界面层包含TiO2、SiO2、SnO2或ZnO的层,并且其中该透明传导电极包含在13.6至20.0ohm/sq范围内的薄层电阻。
5.根据权利要求4所述的方法,其中通过化学气相沉积(CVD)沉积底层、TCO层和界面层。
6.根据权利要求5所述的方法,其中在浮法玻璃制造工艺期间在连续的玻璃带上沉积底层、TCO层和界面层。
7.根据权利要求5所述的方法,其中通过等离子体增强CVD沉积底层、TCO层和界面层。
8.根据权利要求4所述的方法,其中通过溅射来沉积底层、TCO层和界面层。
9.根据权利要求4所述的方法,包括沉积TiO2界面层至厚度大于5nm的步骤。
10.根据权利要求4所述的方法,包括沉积ZnO界面层至厚度在25和80nm之间的步骤。
11.根据权利要求4所述的方法,进一步包括将界面层暴露至紫外线(UV)辐照的步骤。
12.位于电致变色器件或有机发光二极管中的透明基材上的导电涂层堆叠体作为透明传导电极的用途,所述导电涂层堆叠体从该透明基材按顺序包含;
至少两个底层(2,3),其中底层之一包含SnO2层并且另一底层包含SiO2层;和
直接位于该至少两个底层上的透明传导氧化物层(4)即TCO层,其中该TCO层包含具有2300埃至3400埃的厚度的氟掺杂的氧化锡;
该电极的特征在于直接位于该透明传导氧化物层上的界面层(10)并且其中该界面层包含TiO2、SiO2、SnO2或ZnO的层,并且其中该透明传导电极包含在13.6至20.0ohm/sq范围内的薄层电阻。
