Description
目前在中空玻璃密封剂市场中应用的有多种类型的热应用玻璃密封剂。一种类型是两组分化学硫化密封剂。另一类型是单组分硫化密封剂。又一类型是非硫化的热熔的、基于丁基橡胶的密封剂。本发明涉及改良的高性能的、非硫化的、热熔窗密封剂,其不需要丁基聚合物。该新颖的密封剂适宜用作用于制造中空玻璃结构的边缘密封剂。
两组分密封剂不可逆地硫化以形成固体热固性弹性密封剂。在这些密封剂应用中,组分的比率及其混合是重要的且必须是精确的。若组分的比率存在任何误差,或发生任何不适当的混合,密封剂将不会正确地硫化和/或将不能充分地化学粘附于衬底。反应是不可逆的且不能终止。当正在应用密封剂时或若在可能的设备停机过程中发生硫化,若反应发生得过慢或过快,这将会产生问题。因此,必须彻底清除应用设备的混合的密封剂,否则密封剂将在设备中硫化。清除浪费了材料和时间,从而增加了终产物的成本。并且,若密封剂未被正确硫化,其不具有足以将窗支撑在一起的机械性质。对窗任何过早装卸或移动导致密封剂过早粘着失败,和/或密封剂与衬底粘合脱层。而且,密封剂的缓慢硫化需要窗制造设施具有暂存区以允许密封剂正确硫化。这损失了时间和空间,导致了更高的成本。

利用这些密封剂的中空玻璃窗单元包括两个平行的窗格、由一个或多个间隔条隔开,从而在窗格之间形成空腔。第一密封剂存在于间隔条和每个窗格之间,紧邻空腔。第二密封剂还可存在于每个窗格和每个间隔条之间,未紧邻空腔。本发明的密封剂组合物可以是第一密封剂和第二密封剂中任一或二者,即使其通常为第一密封剂。第一密封剂是单独的密封构建,涉及仅将一种类型的密封剂应用于间隔物的全部三面。窗格之间的空腔填充有隔离气体,诸如空气、二氧化碳、六氟化硫、氮气、氩气、氪、氙和类0似的气体。玻璃压条通常位于窗格和窗框之间。窗格可从多种材料中的任何来制造,比如玻璃,例如,浮法玻璃、退火玻璃、回火玻璃、太阳能玻璃、有色玻璃和低能玻璃、丙烯酸树脂、聚碳酸酯树脂及其类似物。
利用手工喷涂、自动挤压或自动三面挤压可将密封剂应用于隔离物(spacer)。通常将作用为吸收大气水分的干燥剂组合物或热熔基质与密封剂化合物共同使用,并首先应用于隔离物构建或掺入到隔离物构建的内部中。在手工喷涂应用方法中,应用了先前暂存的隔离物和玻璃嵌板。然后将玻璃的嵌板与隔离物粘合,其需要通过使用手工喷涂将密封剂从批量分料器人工分配。可用机械分配或经由其他机械自动化技术相似地分配密封剂。还可使用三面挤压方法,从而将密封剂应用于隔离物的两面和外面,然后将其置于两个玻璃嵌板之间,构建了中空玻璃部件。一旦制造了该部件,通过加热的或非加热的滚压机压缩复合物。利用加热的滚压机时,玻璃的表面温度通常被加热到约60℃和90℃之间,且利用压力密封直至单元为设定的厚度。然后将该单元冷却至室温。使用加热和压缩的组合来获得合适的粘合和所需要的单元厚度。若在密封过程中已使用了排气孔来减少单元的内部压力,则随后利用所述密封剂将该孔密封。
本发明的组合物包括约以重量计约2%至50%的聚烯烃聚合物,其由茂金属催化的聚合作用来制备。优选地组合物包括以重量计约5%至40%,且最优选地以重量计约9%至30%的茂金属催化的聚烯烃聚合物。茂金属催化的聚烯烃聚合物发挥作用以为制备物提供在高达60-80℃的温度下抵抗凹陷所需的粘结强度和热抗性,这是对于在夏季暴露在阳光下的窗的预期。其通过提供贯穿从0℃到80℃的工作温度范围的基本上线性的储能模量(G’)来实现。用于本发明的茂金属催化剂技术聚烯烃聚合物是较大组的链烯烃中的弹性聚合物。链烯烃是不饱和烃类,且聚烯烃中最常用的单体是含多达10个碳原子的乙烯和α-链烯烃。主要的链烯烃单体包括乙烯、丙烯、丁烯-1,4-甲基戊烯、己烯、辛烯及其组合。聚烯烃包括乙烯聚合物、丙烯聚合物及其组合,所述组合包括与其他C4-C10α-链烯烃的组合。弹性聚烯烃通常包含乙烯和丙烯,且可包含其他C4-C10烯烃单体单元。一些特别优选的聚烯烃聚合物是乙烯与至少一种其他烯烃单体的共聚物,称作“基于乙烯的”,因为主要的单体是乙烯,比如乙烯-丙烯共聚物和乙烯-辛烯共聚物或丙烯与至少一种其他烯烃单体的共聚物,称作“基于丙烯的”,因为主要的单体是丙烯,比如丙烯-乙烯共聚物。虽然任何聚合物均落入以上本文所描述的性质范围中,用于本发明的优选的聚烯烃聚合物可获自Dow Chemical Co.,商品名为Engage或Versify,和获自ExxonMobil Chemical,商品名为Vistamaxx,等等。
本发明的组合物还包括以重量计约5%至50%的无定型聚α烯烃(APAO)聚烯烃聚合物,其由Ziegler-Natta催化的聚合作用来制备。优选地,组合物包括以重量计约8%至40%的APAO聚合物,和最优选的约12%至30%的APAO聚合物。APAO聚合物起作用以为制备物提供粘合强度和热抗性。按照ASTM D-3236,APAO聚合物在190℃下具有1,000和50,000厘泊(cP)之间的布络克菲尔德粘度(Brookfieldviscosity)。用于本发明的Ziegler-Natta催化剂技术APAO聚烯烃聚合物组分由若干不同种类的无规的、低分子量的、低熔体粘度的和基于基本上无定型的丙烯的聚合物组成。术语“基本上无定型的”在本文中定义为具有如通过针对高结晶度聚丙烯标准的差示扫描量热法所确定的小于30%的结晶度。这些聚合物可以为丙烯的同聚物或丙烯与一个或多个α-烯烃共聚单体的共聚物,所述共聚单体比如,例如,乙烯、丁烯-1、己烯-1和辛烯-1。本发明的范围中的共聚物的平均分子量在从约4,000至约150,000g/mol的范围中,优选地在从约10,000至约100,000g/mol的范围中。如通过ASTM E-28所确定的,所述聚合物在约80℃和190℃之间具有环球法软化点,和如通过ASTMD-3418所确定的,具有从约-5℃至-40℃的玻璃化转变温度。虽然可使用落入本文以上所描述的物理性质范围中的任何APAO聚合物,最优选的APAO选自由以下组成的组:丙烯同聚物、丙烯-乙烯共聚物、丙烯-丁烯-1共聚物和丙烯-乙烯-丁烯-1三元共聚物。用于本文以上所描述的种类的本发明中的适宜的APAO聚合物可从商业上获自Eastman Chemical Company of Kingsport,Term.,商品名Eastoflex,或获自Evonik Industries,商品名Vestoplast或获自Rextac LLC,商品名RT,等等。
本发明的组合物还包括以重量计约2%至25%的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物。优选地,组合物包括以重量计约5%至20%的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物,更优选地以重量计约8%至20%,和最优选地以重量计约9%-15%的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物。A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物起作用以提供低温柔性。用于本发明的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物可选自多种A-B-A嵌段共聚物。在嵌段共聚物中,A嵌段是由聚(乙烯芳族单体)组成的非弹性嵌段,比如苯乙烯。在嵌段共聚物中,B嵌段是弹性嵌段组分,其优选地为至少部分氢化的和最优选地至少基本上氢化的。B嵌段包括但不限于,聚丁二烯、聚(乙烯-丁烯)、聚异戊二烯、聚(乙烯/丙烯),等。A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物可包括选自由以下组成的组的接枝基团:乙烯化的不饱和羧酸、乙烯化的不饱和羧酸酐,及其衍生物。用于本文的嵌段共聚物包括芳族和脂族嵌段共聚物,比如苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯(SIS)、苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯(SBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丁烯-苯乙烯(SEBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丙烯-苯乙烯(SEPS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-乙烯-丙烯-苯乙烯(SEEPS)、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯(SIBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丁烯(SEB)和苯乙烯-乙烯-丙烯(SEP)嵌段共聚物,其具有共聚物中以重量计从约15%至约50%的苯乙烯含量。用于本文以上所描述的种类的本发明中的适宜的A-B-A共聚物可从商业上获自Kraton Polymers LLC,商品名Kraton,和获自Kuraray Co LTD,商品名Septon,等等。
本发明的组合物任选地还可包括以重量计约0%至25%的A-B型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物。若包括的话,组合物优选地包括以重量计约2%至20%,更优选地约5%至20%,和最优选地约9%至15%的A-B型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物。A-B型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物起作用以提供低温柔性。用于本发明的A-B型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物可选自多种A-B二嵌段共聚物。二嵌段共聚物橡胶是A-B型的共聚物,其中A代表由聚(乙烯芳族单体)诸如苯乙烯组成的非弹性嵌段,和B嵌段包括但不限于聚丁二烯、聚(乙烯-丁烯)、聚异戊二烯、聚(乙烯/丙烯),等。二嵌段共聚物橡胶通过以下制成:将单体之一聚合以完成必要步骤,且然后添加第二单体。因此,利用仲丁基锂催化剂可对丁二烯进行阴离子聚合。然后,在聚合物链终止之前,添加苯乙烯并允许继续进行聚合作用。在锂催化剂存在下还可通过分别聚合的每个单体来制备二嵌段共聚物,且随后在双官能偶联剂的存在下通过使锂终止的嵌段反应而将分离的嵌段组合在一起。用于本文以上所描述的种类的本发明的适宜的A-B聚合物是苯乙烯-丁二烯(SB)和苯乙烯-异戊二烯(SI)嵌段共聚物,其从商业上可获自Total Petrochemicals,商品名Finaprene,和获自Dynasol,商品名Solprene,等等。
本发明的组合物还包括以重量计约2%至25%的非茂金属催化的基于乙烯的共聚物。优选地,组合物包括以重量计约3%至20%,更优选地约4%至20%,和最优选地约5%至15%的非茂金属乙烯共聚物。非茂金属乙烯共聚物由于其低玻璃化转变温度(Tg)而起作用以提供低温柔性。用于本发明的非茂金属乙烯共聚物组分可选自乙烯的共聚物和三元共聚物中的任何。乙烯共聚物的例子包括乙烯乙酸乙烯酯、乙烯甲基丙烯酸酯、乙烯丙烯酸乙酯、乙烯丙烯酸正丁酯、乙烯丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸乙烯酯、甲基丙烯酸乙烯甲酯、丙烯酸乙烯2-乙基己基酯,及其组合。有用的乙烯乙酸乙烯酯共聚物表现出小于400g/10分钟的熔体指数。适宜的非茂金属基于乙烯的共聚物还包括以重量计至少14%至约以重量计约50%的乙酸乙烯酯含量。用于本文以上所描述的类型的本发明的适宜的乙烯乙酸乙烯酯共聚物可从商业上获自AT Plastics,商品名ATEVA,等等。
本发明的组合物还包括以重量计约10%至50%的增粘剂。优选地,组合物包括约12%至40%,更优选地约15%至35%的增粘剂。在组合物中使用增粘剂以改良特性粘合,且应该进行选择以最小化挥发性有机化合物(VOC)的释放,该释放可在IG单元的封闭的气隙中积累并在玻璃上冷凝而形成雾。用于本发明的增粘剂组分可选自任何的松香衍生物,包括木松香、妥尔油及其衍生物,松香酯树脂、天然的和合成的萜烯树脂,以及脂族树脂、芳族树脂或混合的脂族-芳族树脂。另外的具有芳族成分的增粘剂组分可从每个具有芳族基团和可聚合的不饱和基团的单体来制备。适宜的单体是,例如,苯乙烯、α-甲基苯乙烯、甲基苯乙烯、甲氧基苯乙烯、叔丁基苯乙烯、氯苯乙烯、包括甲基茚的茚单体,和其他的单体。脂族单体通常是包含C5或C6环戊基或环己基基团且具有一系列芳族的环式取代基的天然的和合成的烯烃。用于这些增粘剂的另外的单体是1,3-丁二烯、顺-1,3-戊二烯、反-1,3-丁二烯、2-甲基-1,3-丁二烯、2-甲基-2-丁烯、环戊二烯、双环戊二烯、萜烯、萜烯-酚树脂和其他单体。可使用的另外的增粘剂组分是苯并呋喃-茚树脂、对叔丁基苯酚乙炔树脂、苯酚-甲醛树脂、二甲苯-甲醛树脂、单烯烃或二烯烃的寡聚物、芳族或环脂族烃类树脂、氢化的烃类树脂、烃类树脂、氢化的木松香、氢化的油树脂,及其与单官能或多官能醇类的酯类。本领域中的技术人员将意识到其为代表性的,而非排他性的列表。优选的为氢化的烃类树脂,且用于本文以上描述的类型的本发明的适宜的氢化的烃类树脂可从商业上获自ExxonMobil Chemical,商品名Escorez,以及获自EastmanChemical Co.,商品名Eastotac,等等。
本发明的组合物中的增塑剂以按重量计从约5%至25%的量存在。优选地,组合物包括以重量计约8%至20%,更优选地约8%至15%,和更优选地约10%至15%的增塑剂。用于本发明的增塑剂组分可选自任何矿物基的油,石油基的油、液态树脂、液态弹性体、聚丁烯、聚异丁烯、邻苯二甲酸酯和苯甲酸酯增塑剂,以及环氧化的豆油。增塑剂宽泛地定义为可将其添加到热塑性橡胶和其他树脂中以改良最终密封剂的可挤压性、柔性、可加工性和拉伸性的典型有机组合物。可使用在室温或应用温度下塑变的且与本发明的组合物相容的任何材料。优选地,增塑剂在大于约40℃的温度下具有低挥发性,且因此优选地具有高于180℃的闪点,和最优选地高于200℃的闪点。最常用的增塑剂是油,其主要为烃油,低芳族含量且在性质上是石蜡族的或环烷族的。油优选地为低挥发性、透明的且尽可能具有少的颜色和气味。
本发明还考虑了烯烃寡聚物、低分子量聚合物、植物油及其衍生物和相似的增塑油的使用。优选的是石油基的油,且用于本文以上所描述的种类的本发明的适宜的石蜡矿物油是可从商业上获自Sonneborn,Inc.,商品名Hydrobrite,和聚丁烯可获自Ineos,商品名Indopol。
无机填充剂任选地以按重量计从约0%至75%的量存在于组合物中。优选地组合物包括约10%至70%,更优选地约15%至60%,和最优选地为约20%至50%的无机填充剂。无机填充剂为组合物提供了加固和粘结强度。用于本发明的无机填充剂组分可选自作为矿物的采矿结果而获得的任何精制的或加工的材料,包括滑石、粘土、二氧化硅、云母、石灰石、大理石和白垩。在所列的多种矿物中,优选地是从方解石加工的碳酸钙,其天然存在于石灰石、大理石和白垩中。
在本文以上所描述的类型的本发明中特别有用的可从商业上获自Imerys Performance minerals,尤其是商品名Camel-Wite的碳酸钙。
组合物还可任选地包括以重量计约0%至5%的有机硅烷粘附促进剂。优选地,组合物包括以重量计约0.1%至4%的有机硅烷粘附促进剂,更优选地约0.2%至3%,和最优选地约0.4%至2%。这些化合物起作用以提高对于衬底诸如见于IG单元中的玻璃和金属的粘附。可任选地将硅烷粘附促进剂添加到本发明的组合物。优选地环氧基官能的硅烷化合物可从商业上获自Degussa,商品名Dynasylan Glymo,和获自Momentive Performance Materials,商品名Silquest。
组合物可包括以重量计从约0%至5%的量存在的抗氧化剂稳定剂。优选地以重量计从约0.1%至2%的抗氧化剂稳定剂掺入到组合物中。还可添加稳定剂或抗氧化剂以保护组合物免于由于与氧的反应导致的降解,所述氧由诸如热、光或来自原材料诸如增粘性树脂的残余催化剂所诱导。这样的抗氧化剂可从商业上获自BASF且包括Irganox565、Irganox 1010和Irganox 1076,所有的受阻酚类抗氧化剂。这些是主要的抗氧化剂,其用作自由基清除剂,且可单独地使用或与其他抗氧化剂诸如亚磷酸盐抗氧化剂如可从BASF获得的Irgafos 168一起使用。亚磷酸盐抗氧化剂被认为是第二抗氧化剂,主要用作过氧化物分解剂,且通常并不单独使用,而与其他抗氧化剂组合使用。其他可获得的抗氧化剂是Cyanox LTDP,硫醚抗氧化剂,可获自CytecIndustries,Ethanox 330,受阻酚类抗氧化剂,可获自Albemarle,和Naugard 445,固体芳族胺抗氧化剂,可获自Chemturea。许多其他的抗氧化剂是可获得的,以用于其自身的用途,或与其他抗氧化剂组合使用。将这些化合物以在组合物中以重量计达约2%且对粘合剂的物理性质无影响的少量添加到密封剂。
还可添加的对物理性质具有可忽略的影响的其他化合物为添加颜色的色素,比如炭黑和二氧化钛、荧光剂、耐候性改良剂诸如紫外线(UV)吸附剂如TinuvinTM P、327和328,和UV清除剂诸如来自Ciba-Geigy的TinuvinTM 770,和仅少数的除臭剂。诸如这些的添加剂是本领域技术人员已知的。通常将UV稳定剂以按重量计从约0%至3%的量来掺入,和优选地按重量计约0.1%至2%的量来掺入。其他添加剂,比如色素,可以按重量计约0%至10%的量来掺入,和优选地按重量计约0.1%至5%的量来掺入。
还可将丁基橡胶聚合物组分以按重量计约0%至10%的增量百分比水平掺入到所述密封剂中,优选地小于按重量计5%。
优选实施方案的描述
本发明的组合物包括约2%至50%的基于茂金属催化剂技术的聚烯烃聚合物,约5%至50%的基于Ziegler-Natta催化剂技术的APAO聚烯烃聚合物,约2%至25%的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物,约0%至25%的A-B型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物,约2%至25%的非茂金属催化的基于乙烯的共聚物,约10%至50%的增粘剂,约5%至25%的增塑剂、约0%至5%的有机硅烷粘附促进剂、约0%至75%的无机填充剂、约0.1%至3%的抗氧化剂,约0%至3%的另外的UV稳定剂和热稳定剂,和0%和10%之间的另外的添加剂。本说明书中所列的所有百分比均是以重量计的百分比。

Claims (15)
1.一种热熔密封剂组合物,其用作中空玻璃窗单元中的边缘密封剂,包括:
a.以重量计约2%至50%的聚烯烃聚合物,其通过茂金属催化的聚合作用生成;
b.以重量计约5%至50%的无定型聚α烯烃聚合物;
c.约2%至25%的A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物;
d.约2%至25%的非茂金属催化的基于乙烯的共聚物;
e.约10%至50%的增粘剂;
f.约5%至25%的增塑剂;
g.约0.1%至3%的抗氧化剂稳定剂。
2.如权利要求1所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述聚烯烃聚合物是基于乙烯的且选自乙烯-丙烯共聚物和乙烯-辛烯共聚物。
3.如权利要求1所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述聚烯烃聚合物是基于丙烯的共聚物。
4.如权利要求3所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述基于丙烯的共聚物是丙烯-乙烯共聚物。
5.如权利要求1所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述无定型聚α烯烃聚合物是基于丙烯的聚合物,选自丙烯的同聚物或丙烯与一种或多种C2至C10α烯烃共聚单体的共聚物。
6.如权利要求5所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述基于丙烯的聚合物具有约80℃和190℃之间的软化点,和从约-5℃至-40℃的玻璃化转变温度。
7.如权利要求1所述的密封剂组合物,其中所述A-B-A型苯乙烯嵌段共聚物选自苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯(SIS)、苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯(SBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丁烯-苯乙烯(SEBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丙烯-苯乙烯(SEPS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-乙烯-丙烯-苯乙烯(SEEPS)、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯(SIBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯-丁烯(SEB)和苯乙烯-乙烯-丙烯(SEP)。
