背景技术

发明内容
本发明提供了用于各种热熔性粘合剂的整体包装膜。由于在粘合剂熔化阶段整体包装膜易于与热熔性粘合剂混溶,且对粘合剂性能没有副作用,因此不需要除去整体包装膜。
申请人发现包装膜的化学组成、熔融粘度、熔融强度、峰值熔融温度、偏移熔融温度(offset melt temperature)和储能模量的特定组合对于形成适用于各种热熔性粘合剂的、化学兼容并可混溶的整体热熔性粘合剂包装膜是至关重要的。
在一个实施方式中,整体包装膜包含这样的聚合物共混物,该聚合物共混物包含至少70重量%的丙烯含量;并且该包装膜具有(a)在200℃下约200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(b)约90-140℃的熔融峰值温度范围;(c)小于149℃的Tm偏移温度;和(d)100℃下约1×106to 1×108Pascal的储能模量(G’)。

再一实施方式涉及用包装膜包装热熔性粘合剂形成整体热熔性粘合剂包装的方法。该方法包含步骤:(1)制备整体包装膜作为包封容器;(2)将热熔性粘合剂在熔融状态下泵送或倒入整体包装膜中,并将该整体包装膜与热沉直接接触;(3)密封该整体包装膜;和(4)将该密封包装冷却。所述整体包装膜包含这样的聚合物共混物,所述聚合物共混物包含(a)约70-约99重量%的丙烯含量和(b)约1-约30重量%的丁烯和/或乙烯含量。整体热熔性粘合剂包装是密封、非粘性包装,该包装在运输期间耐脏和其它污染物。
具体实施方式
术语“烯烃热熔性粘合剂”通常用于是指所有聚烯烃基热熔性粘合剂,包括但不限于由无定形烯烃、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚丁烯和它们的共聚物制成的热熔性粘合剂。
术语“包裹”、“包封”和“包装”在本文可互换使用,并且是指用一层膜包装热熔性粘合剂块。该膜是非粘性或非粘连(non-blocking)的层,还用于防止粘合剂污染,用于方便运输和加工。
术语“整体包装膜”是指包围热熔性粘合剂块的包装膜,并且在加热和使用粘合剂期间可以被加工(在基底上熔融和涂敷),而不用除去该膜。与包装膜类似,整体包装膜也是非粘连的并且防止粘合剂污染。
所述的整体包装膜包含聚合物共混物。该聚合物共混物包含至少两种热塑性聚合物,并且基于聚合物共混物的总重量,该混合物具有至少约70重量%的丙烯含量,并且不高于约99重量%。富含丙烯的共聚物的实例有得自Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd的LMPP400、LMPPS600;得自ExxonMobile Corp的Linxar 127、Vistamaxx 6202、Vistamaxx 6102、Vistamaxx 3980、Vistamaxx3020、Vistamaxx 3000等等。
在一个实施方式中其它热塑性聚合物是丁烯和/或乙烯共聚单体。基于聚合物共混物总重量,其它热塑性聚合物可以占约1重量%-约30重量%。基于聚合物共混物的总重量,乙烯可以占到不高于15 wt%,优选低于10重量%。合适的工业富含丁烯的聚合物包括得自Evonik Industries的Vestoplast308、Vestoplast 408、Vestoplast 508、Vestoplast 520、Vestoplast 608、Vestoplast 703等等。合适的工业的富含乙烯的聚合物包括得自DowChemicals的Affinity GA1950等等。
至少一种热塑性聚合物是金属茂催化的聚合物。合适的聚合物包括金属茂催化的聚乙烯、乙烯-丁烯弹性体和乙烯-辛烯弹性体、塑性体、丙烯-丁烯共聚物、丙烯-乙烯共聚物。
根据需要,膜可以含有用于强化稳定性的抗氧化剂以及其它任选组分,包括增滑剂如芥酸酰胺、防粘连剂如硅藻土、脂肪酰胺或其它加工助剂、抗静电剂、稳定剂、增塑剂、染料、香料、填料如滑石或碳酸钙等。
所述聚合物共混物可以通过本领域已知的任意方式共混。在一个实施方式中,在用于混合和熔融的双螺杆挤出机中将聚合物共混物加工。然后通过本领域已知的任意装置将该熔融共混物浇铸成膜。膜的厚度通常在约0.5mil-约5mil之间变化,优选约1mil-约3mil。具体膜的厚度也随组成和涂敷温度而变化。膜可以是单层或多层膜。
已发现包装膜必须具有特定的性能组合以形成可以与各种热熔性粘合剂化学物质化学兼容的整体热熔性粘合剂包装,同时保持作为热熔性粘合剂的包装膜的整体性。这种包装膜需要(a)在200℃下约200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(b)约90-140℃的峰值熔融温度(Tm)范围;(c)低于149℃的熔融温度(Tm)偏移温度;和(d)在100℃下约1×106-约1×108Pascal的储能模量(G’)范围。
峰值熔点和偏移可以通过本领域已知的各种方法测定。本文报道的峰值熔点和Tm偏移值是用DSC(差示扫描量热法)测定的。除非另有说明,用2920DSC TA仪器将约5mg的膜样品密封入折边的(crimped)氧化铝盘中,将样品冷却至-40℃,然后以10℃/min的速度加热至180℃。将第二次加热循环的吸热熔融峰用于评价峰值熔点和熔融热,并且熔融峰值的末端为Tm偏移温度。
包装膜必须包含所有上面性能以便形成包装膜、保持膜的整体性,同时包封熔融的粘合剂,获得用于熔融粘合剂的非粘性屏障层密封并在熔融时在没有任何搅拌下完全溶解在热熔性粘合剂中。包装膜在升温、模拟箱式汽车条件(35-45℃)的温度下不粘连。包装膜在大于约149℃的温度下在没有任意搅拌或其它能量下5小时内熔融。包装膜可以与各种和多重热熔性粘合剂熔融在一起并且可以共混到熔融的热熔性粘合剂中,对粘合剂的性能没有副作用。
另一实施方式涉及物品,包括用包装膜包围的热熔性粘合剂。该物品是形成为枕头、圆柱体、袋、块、盒或chub的整体热熔性粘合剂包装。
整体热熔性粘合剂包装的热熔性粘合剂包含各种热塑性聚合物。该热熔性粘合剂主要由包括聚-α-烯烃、橡胶、苯乙烯嵌段-共聚物、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、乙烯-乙酸丁烯酯共聚物、和/或它们的混合物的聚合物组成。热熔性粘合剂任选可以包含增粘剂、增塑剂、油、蜡和添加剂。
在一个实施方式中,整体热熔性粘合剂包装中的包装膜不高于约2重量%,并优选约0.1-约1.5重量%,以防过度稀释粘合剂性能。通常,每个包装膜具有约0.5mil-约5mil,优选约1mil-约3mil的厚度范围。
整体热熔性粘合剂包装的包装膜可以混入各种热熔性粘合剂中,而没有任何部分的膜通过飘浮在热熔性粘合剂表面上或者粘附在熔融罐壁上而与熔融的热熔性粘合剂分离。
通常为了形成可混溶的、化学上可兼容的和不分离的粘合剂,基于热熔性粘合剂中使用的主要聚合物选择包装膜。如果不能获取可兼容的热熔性粘合剂和包装膜,会导致部分膜飘浮在热熔性粘合剂表面上或者粘附到熔融罐壁上。已发现本发明的包装膜可混溶入多重热熔性粘合剂化学物质,例如,聚烯烃、橡胶、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、聚酰胺、聚酯、聚氨酯等,同时形成非粘性外保护。
为了用包装膜包装热熔性粘合剂,将热熔性粘合剂熔融并泵送或倒入圆柱形热塑性膜中,其中所述圆柱形管直接与热沉,例如,冷水或冷却液或冷却气体环境接触。包围和密封该膜可以手工进行,或者更优选通过自动化过程进行。热熔性粘合剂的倒入或泵送是在包装膜的熔点或之上进行,并且包装膜的内面与熔融的热熔性粘合剂熔在一起并共混到熔融的粘合剂中,对粘合剂的性能不会有副作用。将充满熔融的热熔性粘合剂的圆柱体密封并使之固化。任选,在密封过程中使用真空除去空气,最终在膜和热熔性粘合剂之间不存在间隙。最终的单个整体热熔性粘合剂包装可以贮藏、加工和使用,而不会发生各个包装粘在一起、粘附到其它物体上、或者即使暴露于增压和/或高温下也不受污染。
为了最终将整体热熔性粘合剂包装用作粘合剂,将该包装放置到熔融罐中,没有除去膜。在热熔性粘合剂和整体包装膜之间的强界面或相界面,只需要非常小的附加能量即可将膜熔融并混入粘合剂本身。
实施例
实施例1
将样品1-7形成为包装膜。丙烯(PP)和丁烯/乙烯共聚单体含量列于表1。在200℃下在几乎零剪切力下用流变仪测定粘度。将聚合物组分通过双螺杆挤出机使之熔融,然后将其以厚度为1.5mil浇铸在冷棍上,形成膜。膜的混溶性是通过将约10,000g的无定形聚α-烯烃粘合剂(得自HenkelCorporation的LITE 300)在熔融罐中与约0.5重量%(基于粘合剂)的膜样品于160℃下熔融评价的。记录没有任何搅拌下膜样品熔入粘合剂所需的时长。就样品8而言,也使用含有3%乙酸乙烯酯的EVA吹塑膜进行该研究。

膜样品1,熔融粘度低,200℃下小于200,000,不能形成膜。所有其它样品,膜样品2-8,为浇铸成膜。
将膜样品2-6熔入LITE 300,并在小于3小时内变成均质体。膜样品7也变成均质体,但是基于非金属茂聚丙烯的共聚物膜需要5小时以上才能与无定形聚-α-烯烃类热熔性粘合剂混溶。EVA膜(膜样品8)花费24小时以上熔入粘合剂内。而且,EVA膜胶凝化并形成硬胶束,并且一些硬胶束飘浮在热熔罐表面上。这些硬胶束是不希望的,因为它们趋于堵塞喷嘴或缝式喷嘴。
实施例2
对样品膜的熔融温度和熔融模量进行表征以评价它们的熔融强度,并且结果示于表2。用2920DSC(差示扫描量热法)TA仪器测定熔点。将约5-10mg的样品密封在折边的氧化铝盘内,冷却至-40℃,然后用2920DSC TA仪器以10℃/min的速度再将其加热至180℃。使用第二次热循环评价峰值熔点和Tm偏移值。
膜在100℃的储能模量(G’)是通过Rheometric Dynamic Analyzer(RDA III)和TA Orchestrator 7.2.0.2版软件测定的。将粘合剂样品装入直径7.9mm的平行板并以约2mm间隔分开。然后将样品冷却至约-30℃,开始时间程序。该程序实验以5℃间隔升温接着进行每个温度10秒钟的吸入时间。装有样品的对流烘箱用氮气连续吹拂。频率保持在10rad/s。实验开始时的初应变是0.05%(在板的外边缘)。使用软件中的自动应变选项保持整个实验一个精确可测定的扭矩。设定该选项使得软件允许的最大施加应变为30%。该自动应变程序调整每个温升下的应变。通过软件由扭矩和应变数据计算剪切贮藏或弹性模量(G')。
膜样品的膜强度是通过用膜样品包封熔融的LITE Lite300形成包装来评价的。肉眼评价冷却之后包装的质量和强度。如果膜样品保持整体性并形成热熔性粘合剂的包围的话,膜得分“强”。如果有任何孔或热熔性粘合剂破坏了膜样品的整体性的话,膜得分“弱”。

样品1-3在填充阶段破裂,不能获得包装。样品4-8足够强形成了可接受的包装,样品膜没有任何破裂。发现约90-140℃的峰值Tm范围和100℃下约1×106-约1×108Pascal的储能模量使得膜能够经受填充阶段并获得可接受质量的包装。
实施例3
测定样品4-8的可喷雾性。将约10,000g的DISPOMELTLite 300粘合剂样品用厚度为约1.5mil的样品膜包封。将该包装装入热熔罐设施中于160℃下使样品4-6保持3小时(样品7保持10小时,样品8保持24小时)。然后将该熔融粘合剂经四口ITW喷头(Nordson)喷雾,并将偏离滴数(strayglobs)/分钟记录在表3。每个样品膜的Tm偏移也记录在表3。

样品7具有大于10偏离滴/分钟。相反,样品4-6仅有两偏离滴/分钟。与样品7不同,样品4-6的Tm偏移值低于149℃。发现Tm偏移值低于149℃的包装膜是可喷雾性中使偏离最小化的重要因素。尽管样品8也具有低于149℃的Tm偏移值,但是EVA膜与包封粘合剂的不混溶性的限制导致偏离上升。
实施例4
形成具有不同热熔性粘合剂(1,000g)和包装膜(0.5重量%,基于热熔性粘合剂)的热熔性粘合剂包装并列于表4。将每个包装装入热熔罐中并在所列温度下加热,没有任何搅拌。肉眼观察膜在热熔性粘合剂中的混溶性。同样,记录膜样品完全溶解并混溶入粘合剂内所需的时长。

正如上面观察到的,具有如下特征的包装膜:(1)用包含至少70重量%丙烯含量的聚丙烯共聚物制备;(2)200℃下具有约200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(3)具有约90-140℃的熔融峰值温度范围、(4)具有低于149℃的Tm偏移温度;(5)具有100℃下约1×106至1×108Pascal的储能模量(G’),能够与由不同聚合物形成的不同和多重热熔性粘合剂混溶,并且可作为通用包装用于整体热熔性粘合剂包装。

Claims (10)

1.一种热熔性包装膜,包含聚合物共混物,
其中所述聚合物共混物包含至少70重量%的丙烯含量;和
其中所述包装膜具有(a)在200℃下200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(b)90-140℃的峰值熔融温度范围;(c)小于149℃的Tm偏移温度;和(d)在100℃下1×106-1×108帕的储能模量G’范围。
2.如权利要求1所述的包装膜,还包括选自由下面物质组成的组的添加剂:防粘连剂、抗氧化剂、流动改性剂、填料、染料及它们的混合物。
3.如权利要求1所述的包装膜,其中所述聚合物共混物中至少一种聚合物是金属茂催化的聚丙烯聚合物。
4.一种物品,包括如权利要求1所述的包装膜。
5.一种整体热熔性粘合剂包装,包括:
(a)选自由以下物质组成的组的热熔性粘合剂:聚-α-烯烃、橡胶、苯乙烯嵌段共聚物、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、乙烯-乙酸丁酯共聚物、及它们的混合物;和
(b)包装膜,该包装膜包含具有至少70重量%的丙烯的聚合物共混物;并且其中所述包装膜具有(a)在200℃下200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(b)90-140℃的峰值熔融温度范围;(c)小于149℃的Tm偏移温度;和(d)在100℃下1×106-1×108帕的储能模量G’范围;
其中基于所述热熔性粘合剂包装的总重量,所述包装膜在热熔性粘合剂包装中占0.2-2%;和
其中在149℃或更高的温度下没有任何搅拌下所述包装膜100%混溶在所述热熔性粘合剂中。
6.如权利要求5所述的整体热熔性粘合剂包装,其中所述包装膜还包含选自由下面物质组成的组的添加剂:防粘连剂、抗氧化剂、流动改性剂、填料、染料及它们的混合物。
7.如权利要求5所述的整体热熔性粘合剂包装,其中所述聚合物共混物中至少一种聚合物是金属茂催化的聚丙烯聚合物。
8.如权利要求7所述的整体热熔性粘合剂包装,其中所述聚合物共混物包含:
a.70-99重量%的丙烯含量;
b.1-30重量%的乙烯和/或丁烯含量;
9.如权利要求5所述的整体热熔性粘合剂包装,其中所述热熔性粘合剂是基于聚-α-烯烃或苯乙烯嵌段共聚物的粘合剂。
10.形成整体热熔性粘合剂包装的方法,包括步骤:
1).制备包装膜作为包封容器;
2).在150℃或更低的温度,将熔融状态的热熔性粘合剂泵送或倒入该包装膜,其中所述包装膜与热沉直接接触;
3).密封该包装膜;和
4).将该密封包装冷却;和
其中所述包装膜包含这样的聚合物共混物,所述聚合物共混物包括至少70重量%的丙烯;并且该包装膜具有(a)在200℃下200,000-3,000,000cps的粘度范围;(b)90-140℃的峰值熔融温度范围;(c)小于149℃的Tm偏移温度;和(d)在100℃下1×106-1×108帕的储能模量G’范围;
其中所述热熔性粘合剂选自由以下物质组成的组:聚-α-烯烃、橡胶、苯乙烯嵌段-共聚物、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、乙烯-乙酸丁酯共聚物、及它们的混合物;和
其中所述经冷却的密封包装不粘。
