Abstract

Description
本发明涉及用于刀具的高强度磨料切割零件,更具体底说,涉及粘结的和粘结的/烧结的切割零件和涂敷有金属的金刚石与立方氮化硼晶体形成的加衬压块,及其生产方法。
由金刚石或立方氮化硼(“CBN”)晶体组成的复合多晶研磨体或压块作为切割零件被广泛地用于钻头尖、磨削或切割工具、切削工具、木工工具和拨丝模等工业领域。这种压块表明了优于单晶切割零件的性质,如更好的耐磨性和抗冲击性。
在被视作“金刚石稳定区域”、其典型取值范围高于40千巴和1200-2000℃的高温高压(“HPHT”)条件下,在促进金刚石-金刚石粘结的催化剂/溶剂存在下使金刚石颗粒烧结在一起可形成压块。
商业上可得到的烧结金刚石压块具有各种微观结构。例如根据U.S.Patent No 3,609,818可以形成对高达约700-750℃的温度稳定的未浸渍的多晶金刚石(“PCD”)压块。在该专利中,使金刚石粉末与石墨粉末和金属催化剂/溶剂(如钴)混合,并经HPHT条件形成一种具有烧结的金刚石-金刚石键的多晶压块。用于烧结金刚石压块的催化剂/溶剂包括钴、镍、铁、其它Ⅷ族金属和含有这些金属的合金。金刚石压块通常具有高于70%(体积)的金刚石含量,典型的是具有80-95%。可以使无衬的压块机械地粘结到刀具体上。
例如,根据U.S.Patent Nos 3,767,371、3,742,489和4,403,015的方法,可以生产出多晶CBN的烧结压块。用于CBN的催化剂/溶剂包括铝或含镍、钴、铁、锰或铬的铝合金。
通过使金刚石粉末层与碳化钨和钴的粉末混合物经HPHT条件下处理,可以使这种压块粘结到基体(如粘结的碳化钨)上。在工艺过程中钴扩散到所说的金刚石粉末中,因此对于金刚石形成金刚石-金刚石键的烧结起着溶剂/催化剂的作用,并且对碳化钨起着粘结剂的作用。通过这种方法,在金刚石层和粘结的碳化钨的界面处形成牢固结合。参见,例如U.S.Patent Nos.3,745,623和4,403,015。
烧结压块的强度和耐磨性可以类似于或优于单晶金刚石,但是这些特性会因受热而衰减,在高于750℃的温度下,它们的切割效率明显变坏。人们相信这是由于在高温下金刚石和催化剂/溶剂相之间的不均匀热膨胀导致的热应力和催化剂引起的金刚石石墨化所造成的。压块和衬底之间的不同的膨胀率还会引起在其界面处分层或破裂。
具有改进热稳定性的压块叙述于U.S.Patent No.4,224,380中,该专利描述了一种从压块中浸出大部分催化剂/溶剂,生产基本无金属的无衬粘合的金刚石-金刚石粘结的磨料压块的方法。该金刚石压块包括70-90%(体积)的金刚石、0.05-30%(体积)的催化剂/粘结剂,和5-30%(体积)的空隙。无衬的或独立式浸出的压块对高达1200℃为热稳定的,并且无明显结构降解现象发生。这种压块以“Geoset”商品名出售。这种压块稍微有点脆。
Geoset的多孔性也可能是脆弱、降低压块强度、耐磨性和抗冲突性的根源。在U.S.Patent 4,636,253中,通过在HPHT处理之前,向金刚石粉末中加入选自元素周期表的ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族的金属或碳化物和铁族金属降低压块的孔隙率。然后浸出大部分铁族金属。通过这种方法,这种压块的空隙率被降低到7%或更低。
具有改进热稳定性的烧结金刚石压块的另一个例子公开于英国专利申请No.2,158,086中。该压块中包括约80-90%(体积)的多晶金刚石物质和约10-20%(体积)的硅和/或碳化硅第二相。在HPHT处理过程中,硅被渗透到压块中。这种压块被认为在真空、惰性或还原气氛条件下能够承受1200℃的温度,但是硅或碳化硅会增加压块的脆性。
影响烧结多晶压块的性质的另一个特性为其晶体的粒度。粒度越小,压块的耐磨性越好,因为在应力状态下只有小颗粒部分削去。小颗粒的压块提供精细研磨,在机械加工应用中是优选的。
但是,具有太细的结构和高度金刚石-金刚石粘合的压块所起的作用更象一个大单晶而不象小晶体的聚集体。所得到的与这种密实的金刚石-金刚石粘合相联系的硬度和高弹性模量使得这种压块易于破裂扩张。因此,足够的应力会引起大规模破裂,而使整个压块破碎。
生产细粒压块所需的细金刚石粉末原料还会引起原料处理和加工问题,这些问题会降低产量并导致产品质量不稳定。致密的粉末阻止催化剂/溶剂的浸透,因而难于烧结细粒晶体。这种细粒晶体的增大的表面积会增加它们对表面杂质的敏感性,同时小粒晶体的清洗和压紧也是困难的。在希望得到较大压块时或在所要求的金刚石原料粒度小于6微米时,这些问题更为严重。细粒金刚石压块也会象上述压块那样受到同样的热限制。
除用于压块中之外,高强度磨料颗粒还被用来浸透磨料切割零件(如砂轮和锔条)。例如,U.S.Patent No.2,818,850公开了用碳化钨粉末、钴和金刚石粉末形成切割零件。还可参见U.S.Patent No.2,796,706。在这种混合物中的金刚石浓度典型地为小于40%。金刚石的存在改进了碳化物基体的切割效率,但具有较高金刚石浓度的高强度磨料压块最好。另外,由于金刚石似乎通过较弱的机械结合力即可被固着在碳化钨基体上,当该支承基体被腐蚀掉时,这种小金刚石磨料易于失去。
为了改进金刚石磨料对碳化物基体的粘合,用金属(如钨、钽、铬、铌或钼)涂敷金刚石颗粒。U.S.Patent No.3,871,840和3,841,852采用化学气相沉积对分散在金属基体中的金刚石磨料进行金属涂敷。这种涂敷的金刚石构成约25%的磨料产物。但是,PCD在硬度、耐磨性和应用范围方面仍是优越的。
最近,U.S.Patent No.4,378,975公开了一种高强度磨料颗粒高达40%(产品体积)的磨料产品。这种颗粒优选地用铬和耐摩外层(如镍/铁基合金)涂敷。使这种颗粒在镍/铬基体合金中粘结在一起,该基体的熔点低于1100℃。这种磨料产品的形成是通过混合经过涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒和合金粉末,在室温下加压形成一种未烧结状态的产品,在远低于金刚石稳定区域,约950-1000℃下,烧结该未烧结状态产品。铬涂层可以高达颗粒重量的10%,而包括耐磨涂层在内,经过涂敷的颗粒的直径可以是未经过涂敷颗粒的2-3倍。产品的低金刚石浓度注定了它的性能与PCD相似,并且其热稳定性低。与不同成分的粉末相连的混合和压实问题可能阻碍金刚石颗粒在这种基体中的均匀分布,这会导致其机械和热性质不均匀。
金属涂层还可被施用于金刚石浓度较高的产品中。例如,U.S.Patent No.3,879,901叙述了固着在可以包括硅的铁合金基体中的由钛和钼涂敷的金刚石磨料形成的65%金刚石的压块。这种基体还可以包括具有10%钴的粘结碳化钨。使这种金刚石磨料与基体粉末混合,在HPHT条件下经加工形成压块。这种压块不加衬底。而由于热失调和逆转变,存在于基体中的钴、铁或镍将会引起热不稳定性,但在这种相对低的金刚石浓度下可能不是个问题。但是,如果提高金刚石的浓度,所得到的产品将可能具有低热稳定性。
U.S.Patent No.3,650,714描述了一种用钛或锆薄层涂敷天然金刚石产品以改进它们与金属、树脂或陶瓷基体的粘结的方法。这种金属涂层可高达经过涂敷的金刚石体积的5%。可以加入镍或铜的附加层以防止钛或锆薄层的氧化,或可以在非氧化气氛中进行后续加工。但是,业已发现,这种薄层会被在后续加工中使用的液体粘合剂渗透,而使这种金属涂层剥蚀。欧洲专利申请No.0,211,642还叙述了具有钛或铬薄层的金属涂层多晶金刚石切割零件改进了对切割刀具的钻头体的碳化钨基体的粘附。
本发明提供了一种热稳定的高强度磨料切割零件及其制造方法。这种切割零件包括许多独立的金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒,其中相邻颗粒之间的金属涂层粘结到相邻的颗粒上,形成粘结基体。在金刚石高强度磨料的情况下,这种金属涂层应为一种碳化物的形成体,可选自ⅣA、ⅤA、ⅥA族的金属或它们的合金。作为涂层的金属优选的是钨、钽和钼,最优选的为钨。
在一个优选实施例中,基体可以进一步包括改进金属涂层之间粘结的粘结剂。为了保持压块的热稳定性,优选的是具有与金刚石相近热膨胀性质的粘结剂,如硅。其次,虽然具有降低的机械和热性能,也可以使用催化剂/溶剂(如钴)或非催化剂金属(如铜)。
视具体情况而定,粒度小于经过涂敷的高强度磨料的未经涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒可被分散在经过涂敷的磨料颗粒之间的空隙中。在粘结剂存在下,这种未经涂敷的颗粒可以粘结在一起,生产出一种粘结的/烧结的切割零件。
根据本发明的另一方面,所说的金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒可能包括具有改进耐磨性的热稳定的多晶细粒烧结聚集体。
本发明的切割零件可以是独立式的或者加衬的。独立式的高强度磨料切割零件可以在侧面上具有可铜焊层,以改进对刀具支承基体的粘合。由于它们具有相当高的热稳定性和铜焊性,根据发明制造的切割零件具有广泛的用途。这种切割零件可用于钻头尖,磨削或切割工具、机械加工工具和木工工具以及拔丝模。本发明的切割零件所含的高强度磨料颗粒至少约为压块体积的70%,最好是至少80%。
根据本发明的方法,将大量的金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒置于模具中,并使其经高温高压处理,使相邻颗粒的金属涂层粘结在一起。在一个优选实施方案中,可以使这种经过涂敷的颗粒在HPHT期间与一种粘结剂相接触,其方法是通过粘结剂粉末与经过涂敷的颗粒混合或者在模中邻近经过涂敷的颗粒附近放置一个粘结剂层以便在HPHT下进行渗透。在另一个实施方案中,可以使未经过涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒在HPHT之前与经过涂敷的颗粒相混合。衬底或可铜焊层的粉末或园片也可以在HPHT之前插入模中。
通过在形成压块之前涂敷这种高强度磨料,基本避免了这种高强度磨料颗粒之间的自身结合。我们相信金刚石-金刚石的粘结是先有技术的压块中存在的一些问题(在冲击负荷下大规模破裂)的原因。这种金属涂层还显著地保护金刚石免于催化剂金属的作用,其中的催化剂金属可以存在于基体中或从衬底中扩散出来。这使得在后面的高温作用期间的金刚石到石墨的石墨化或逆转变,即烧结多晶压块的热不稳定性的一个根源最小化。这种金属涂层还赋予这种压块足够的导电性,使得它可以通过常规的移动式有线放电加工机床(travelling wire electrical dis charge machine)切割。
但是,在本发明的方法中,相邻颗粒的金属涂层之前的粘结是通过烧结形成的,对于高强度磨料颗粒,所得到的结构被称为“粘结的”,因为它们被粘结到基体支承结构上。这里所用的“烧结”指的是在HPHT条件下金刚石-金刚石或CBN-CBN粘合的形成。

本发明的高强度切割零件包括用一种碳化物形成体涂敷的或粘结到一种碳化物形成体上的高强度磨料颗粒,其中的碳化物形成体选自ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族元素或它们的合金。在本发明方法中,在金刚石形成区域的高温高压下使相邻颗粒的涂层粘结到一起,形成由涂敷的金属和/或它的碳化物组成的粘结基体。下面更详细地描述本发明的方法。图1的显微照片表示放大160倍的本发明切割零件的例子。
用于涂敷金刚石颗粒的优选金属有钨、钽和钼。最好的是钨,因为它抗氧化,在形成碳化物的过渡金属中它的热膨胀性最接近于金刚石,并且它具有高熔点。钽和钼在较低的程度上共有这些性质。对于涂敷CBN优选的是钽和钛,因为它们是良好的硼化物和氮化物形成体,并且具有相似于CBN的热膨胀特性。
在暴露于PHT条件下期间或在热处理之前,作为与金刚石的碳(CBN的硼或氮)反应的结果,金属涂敷的内表面形成一种碳化物(硼化物或氮化物)层。取决于涂层的厚度和工艺条件,涂层的其余部分可能反应形成碳化物、硼化物或氮化物,或者如果涂层足够厚,可能会剩余金属。因此使固定金刚石高强度磨料颗粒在一起的结合力可能采取金刚石到碳化物到金属到碳化物到金刚石的形式,或者可能采取金刚石到碳化物到金刚石的形式。在这两种情况下,形成牢固的化学键。虽然并不完全清楚,但是我们相信金刚石和金属碳化物之间的键是金刚石的碳和碳化物之间的原子键。
这种涂层的体积可以是经过涂敷的金刚石体积的4-30%。压块的金刚石浓度大于切割零件体积的约70%,最好大于80%。优选的涂层体积约为经过涂敷金刚石体积的8-12%。10%体积的涂层近似地相当于平均粒径为100微米的金刚石上1.5微米厚的涂层。较厚的金属涂层将会造成压块中较低的金刚石浓度,相应地降低所需的性质,如强度和耐磨性。另一方面,如果该涂层太薄,在本发明方法中的HPHT处理期间可能形成增多的金刚石-金刚石键,而导致潜在的不稳定性如脆性和逆转变。
下面讨论的本发明方法中的经过涂敷的颗粒的压实和处理会引起一些金属涂层的剥落问题,这将使金刚石烧结到相邻的金刚石上。但是并没有足够的能对压块的性质产生破坏性影响的金刚石与金刚石的键合。
最好,这种切割零件的基体进一步包括一种粘结剂,该粘结剂改进粘结结构的强度和降低其空隙率。这种粘结剂润湿金属涂层,有助于涂层之间键的形成。取决于粘结剂,也能与金属涂层发生化学的和/或机械粘合。这种粘结剂可高达压块体积的18%。
优选的粘结剂是硅或含有硅或硼的化合物,如氮化硅(Si3N4),碳化硅(SiC)和硼化硅(BC)。这些优选的粘结剂具有接近于金刚石的热膨胀特性,从而降低了潜在的热应力。另外,这些粘结剂对金刚石只有很小的催化作用,以及任何暴露的金刚石的逆转变为最小。
硅是最优选的粘结剂,因为它的热膨胀与金刚石最符合。事实上,如下面实施例说明的,结合有硅粘结剂的压块具有可与常规的独立式浸出的PCD切割刀具相比拟的热稳定性。硅与基体中的钨和碳化钨反应,形成碳化硅(SiC)和硅化钨(例如Si2W),它提高了压块的整体强度。硅还可以与经过金属涂层剥落而暴露出来的金刚石反应形成碳化物。在先有技术的含硅热稳定压块中经常碰到的脆性问题,通过基体的金属/金属碳化物部分的存在而得到缓解,使得压块为可延展的。
由于金刚石被涂敷,只有极少量的金刚石暴露,我们相信催化剂/溶剂粘结剂(如钴、镍或铁或者其它Ⅷ族金属)也可以用来降低由于在高于750℃的温度下使用期间的逆转变造成的高温不稳定性。在高达约700℃的条件下,利用钴的切割零件比硅的切割零件更坚固。在更高的温度下,由于热不稳定性使切割零件强度减弱。利用钴作粘结剂的独立或切割零件在低于800℃的应用场合将是常规独立式PCD的良好代用品。小于切割零件体积含量4%的催化剂/溶剂就足以获得涂层颗粒间的牢固粘合,这种低浓度稍微使由催化剂粘结剂引起的热不稳定性有所缓和。其中钴作粘结剂的切割零件的横断面分析表明金刚石和钴有些接触,除由于涂层剥落金刚石暴露所造成的接触外。这告诉我们一些钴通过金属/金属碳化物涂层进行扩散。下面讨论的试验表明本发明的含钴的加衬切割零件高达至少1000℃下是热稳定的。这是优于先有技术的加衬PCD切割零件的热稳定性,并且本发明的加衬切割零件提供了一个良好的替换物。利用钴作粘结剂的本发明的其它实施方案可显示出高于1100℃的热稳定性。这些将在下面讨论。
像铜、锡或其它ⅠB、ⅡB、ⅢB或ⅣB族金属和它们的合金这样的金属也可以用作粘结剂。这些金属的熔点比讨论的其它粘结剂低,因此,所得到的压块的热稳定性也比讨论的其它实施方案的压块低。另外,铜和同类金属和合金不与颗粒上的涂层发生化学反应,所以只提供与金属涂层的机械键合。这一原因多少会降低其耐磨性。
硅和钛的组合体(例如硅/钛合金)也可以用作粘结剂,而且具有良好的结果。
在本发明的另一优选实施方案中,切割零件附加地包括一种或多种未经涂敷的粒度较小的高强度磨料颗粒的粉末,它们位于经过涂敷的颗粒之间的空隙中。这些较小的颗粒多达切割零件体积的20%,由此降低其空隙率和其金刚石含量。这种未经涂敷的颗粒在粘结剂存在下烧结在一起,并粘结到第一和第二相的基体上。利用两种不同粒度颗粒的切割零件可以称作为双模态(bimodal)。如果加入另外一种小颗粒高强度磨料粉,这种切割零件可称为三模态(trimodal)。具有粘结/烧结结构的三模态切割零件的放大160倍的显微照片示于图2中。
多模态压块中的粘结金属/金属碳化物结构可以是完全由高强度磨料颗粒上的金属涂层形成的,它与具有少量未经涂敷颗粒的碳形成碳化物。为了改善与未经涂敷颗粒的结合,还可以在HPHT之前向混合物中加入金属(如钨)的细粉。为了达到充分分散,所加入的金属粉末的标称直径应为小于用于分散的最小未经涂敷颗粒粒度的任何粒度。
这种经涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒呈直径小于1微米到近1000微米的近似园球状,典型的是由10-200微米的经涂敷颗粒构成的压块。为了更好地充填,优选使用粒度均匀的经涂敷颗粒,但这并不是必须的。在一个平均直径为90微米的经涂敷颗粒样品中,例如,近80%的颗粒可以是85-95微米,剩余颗粒的粒度在上述范围之外。
这种较小的未经涂敷金刚石可以具有任何小于经涂敷颗粒的粒度。但是,发现采用振动充填方法时,当这种较小的颗粒为相邻较大的颗粒粒度的约1/6-1/9时,混合和充填效果更好。业已发现,这种颗粒粒度之间的关系可以改进当较小颗粒嵌入较大颗粒之间的空隙时的切割零件的充填密度,因此这种关系是优选的。如图2所示,较小的未经涂敷颗粒的存在,会稍微增大较大的经涂敷颗粒之间的距离。
根据本发明的另一方面,这种经过金属涂敷的金刚石颗粒可能自身形成烧结的细粒多晶聚集体,以提高耐磨性。另外,这种压块与讨论的其它实施方案相同。这种聚集体分粒大致均匀,具有约20-1000微米的标称直径。优选的范围为约50-250微米。细粒聚集体的使用相对于常规压块提高了耐磨性,同时粘结基体减小了在细粒烧结压块中经常遇到的破裂扩张的危险性。图3为本发明压块的放大80倍的显微照片,该压块由经过涂敷的细粒烧结金刚石聚集体组成。
独立式切割零件在它的一个或多个侧面具有一可铜焊薄层,以便在室温条件下粘结到刀具的支承碳化钨基体上。该薄层可以是一个0.020英寸层的抗氧化碳化物形成体层,其中的碳化物形成体如钨、钛或钼或它们的碳化物如碳化钨。优选的是碳化物形成体和它们的碳化物,因为它们是耐腐蚀的。它们还与切割零件和基体形成良好的金属键。这种可铜焊层的使用使得在非HPHT条件下即可粘结到刀具基体上。图4a表示了具有和不具有可铜焊层的本发明的独立式切割零件。在PCD压块的相对侧面上具有可铜焊层的夹层结构也可以如图4a所示形成。这种夹层结构在木材加工工业中特别有用。
本发明的切割零件也可以粘结到一个衬底上,形成一个加衬的压块体。粘结的碳化钨是一种优选的衬底。由硅化合物如Si3N4或碳化硅或其它含硅或含硼化物组成的陶瓷基体也可以使用。图4b表示了本发明的加衬底的压块。在图4a和4b中所示的切割零件可用于钻头尖、磨削或切割刀具。机加工和木加工的工具以及拔丝模。类似于图4a和4b中所示压块的金刚石产品也可以用作轴承零件,例如用于油/气定向钻探中使用的井底钻探发动机的轴承。图4a和4b中所示的切割零件可以用一个移动式有线放电加工机床(“EDM”)制成所需的外形或轮廓。一般情况下,这种体系使用垂直走线通过电火花腐蚀来切割导电材料。当切割线接近工件时,从切割线放出电火花,从工件表面侵蚀出小块材料。这种侵蚀出来的材料用去离子水从工件上冲洗掉。
由多晶金刚石压块制成的传统热稳定切割零件不能用EDM机切割,因为它们不具有足够的导电性。Geoset压块不含有任何导电的金属填隙式成分,但是在从De Beers得到的Sgndax-3多晶金刚石压块中Si/SiC的存在使它们不适宜用EDM体系来切割。这些压块的金刚石-金刚石的自身键合特性也使它们难以用EDM切割系统进行切割。它们通常就地形成一种特定的形状,或者用激光切出一形状。但是,本发明的切割零件中的金属基体提供了足够的导电性,使它们能够用常规的EDM机切割出任何所需形状或轮廓。
在本发明的另一方面,根据这里讲的HPHT技术(包括,例如使用在这里所述的粘结剂,然后用机械方法粉碎生产出一种由粉碎的聚集体形成的磨料粒)可以制造出一种热稳定的粘结PCD产品。这种粉碎的聚集体可以进一步球磨以及粉碎成均匀的更细的磨料粒。然后由这种粉碎的聚集体形成的磨料粒可以用各种筛目尺寸的筛子(10/20,20/35,35/50,50/60,60/80等)分级。然后可以用适当的溶剂清洗这种分级的材料,视具体情况而定再利用标准涂敷技术用一种或多种形成碳化物的金属(如钨、钼、铬、钛、铌或锆)层涂敷。这些粉碎的聚集体上的涂层厚度可以约为5-10微米,最好约10-20微米。这种粉碎的聚集料可以化学地结合在基体刀具体中。例如,60/80粒度的粉碎的聚集料在砂轮中是有用的,但是10/20粒度的粉碎的聚集料对于用作锔条和钻头尖是有用的。
本发明的加衬底压块显示出高达至少1000℃的热稳定性,该压块优于热稳定性高达800℃的常规加衬压块。参见下面的实施例1-7,和表Ⅰ。所公开的不同的实施方案以不同的方法提高了热稳定性。例如,如实例1所示,加衬底的三模态压块对于高达1100℃是热稳定的。尽管这种现象的原因并不十分清楚,但是我们相信细粒未经涂敷高强度磨料颗粒和基体的钨和碳化钨的混合物可能形成一个过渡层,其热稳定性介于钴(从衬底扩散到压块中)的基体与金刚石二者之间,而降低了一些热应力。在包括最大直径小于约4微米的细微的未经涂敷的高强度磨料粉的多模态压块中显示了这种在热稳定性方面的改进。
加衬底的压块的热稳定性还可以根据本发明使用一个薄配合层(compliant layer)来改进,其中的配合层的厚度高达500微米,最好是40-100微米,该配合层处于切割零件和衬底之间,在两部分之间起着传热作用。这种配合层包括一种与ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族金属(如钽)混合的粒度为0.5-10微米的细高强度磨料粉。另一方面,这种配合层包括一种平均粒径为0.5-10微的细高级磨料粉,该磨料颗粒已用ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族金属(如钽)的薄层涂敷。这种配合层有助于避免切割零件和衬底之间的离层,也有助防止在HPHT期间钴的扩散。下面实施例3的试验表明了这种类型的压块在1000℃以下是稳定的。
如下面方法中讨论的,利用硅作粘结剂,通过在粘结的碳化钨衬底和压块之间放置硅园片或硅粉末层形成的压块显示出高于1100℃的热稳定性(实施例5)。相信这种硅层阻止HPHT期间钴进入压块的扩散。
硼掺杂的金刚石也可以用作高强度磨料颗粒,并且它们在热稳定性方面可能优于非硼掺杂的金刚石。但是,同时由于质量的不稳定性使得它们的使用不可靠。
为了用在本发明的方法中,高强度磨料颗粒可以用金属通过已知的常规方法(如化学气相沉积或溅射法)涂敷。例如可以在700℃下用六氟化钨进行3小时的钨化学气相沉积。
涂敷后,在真空或还原气氛(如氢)中,通过在950-1150℃下高温焙烧2小时来使这种颗粒清洁。这种高温处理还会引起高强度磨料颗粒与金属涂层之间发生化学键合,形成碳化物、硼化物或氮化物层。
根据本发明制造切割零件的方法是将经过涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒放于一个模中,然后使该模经金刚石形成区域内的高温高压条件处理。合适的模为钽杯,可以轻轻地拍打或振荡该模以便使颗粒沉积。压力和温度分别典型的是40-80千巴和1200-2000℃,时间为5-60分钟。一般优选的是15分钟。这种高压使颗粒层压缩和压实,减少制成压块中空隙率的气孔。在HPHT条件下,金属涂层相互粘结并且粘结到金刚石上形成粘结的基体。
在一个优选的方法中,在HPHT处理之前,将一种粘结剂放入模中。这种粘结剂最好以一个园片的形式放置于模中与高强度磨料颗粒相邻的位置,以便在HPHT处理期间进行渗透。优选的是将这种粘结园片放在高强度磨料颗粒的一侧,因为当它渗透时,粘结剂可以吸收和传递沉淀在压块的一端并可被磨掉的杂质。如果从两端进行渗透,这些杂质倾向于在压块的中间浓缩,而提供潜在的不稳定源。另一方面,这种粘结剂可以涂在被金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒上或通过例如属于本领域公知内容并且将于下文进行进一步详细讨论的振动填充技术与呈粉末状的高强度磨料颗粒粒合。难于在经过涂敷的颗粒中得到粉末的均匀分布,但是这可以通过本方法的高温高压条件得到某种程度的缓解。粘结剂的润湿和HPHT处理的高压会引起轻微的颗粒重排,使得进一步沉积和填充。
当在独立式切割零件中使用硅作粘结剂时,渗透应在金属涂层之间显著粘结之前发生。这可以通过在至少1300℃,55千巴下进行15分钟的HPHT处理来实现。因为在这一压力下硅的熔点为1200-1300℃,所以在金属涂层之间发生显著粘结之前硅将熔化和渗透。这种硅可以通过首先润湿金属涂层来改善它们的粘结。
如果使用象钴这样的催化剂溶剂作粘结剂,在该方法中最好在HPHT之前使粘结剂粉末与经过涂敷的颗粒混合。在此不介绍其渗透,因为难于控制渗入压块中钴的量。
在该方法的另一实施方案中,在HPHT处理之前向模中加入粒度小于经过涂敷颗粒的未涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒。如上所述,如果使用一种粒度的未经过涂敷颗粒,这种较小颗粒的粒度优选的是较大的经过涂敷的颗粒粒度的1/6-1/9。如果要制造三模态切割零件,最好是最小的未经过涂敷的颗粒为中等粒度颗粒粒度的1/6-1/9。这种颗粒的组合体可以均匀地混合并且用例如先有技术中已知的“纯振动充填技术”(True-Vibrational Packing Technigue)紧密地填充。Acoustic Power Systems Corporation生产的由2MHZ Function Wave Tek发生器(型号20)控制的Dual Mode TM能量放大器(Power Amplifier),型号APS114,Perma-Dyne振荡器,型号APS120 S,可用来提供混合和填充所需的适当振动。在下面的实施例中给出了这种机器的操作参数。这种最小的颗粒可能如此细小以致于它们能浮起,而防止了它们在振动期间在其它颗粒之间的分布。这些细颗粒可以悬浮在甲醇中,然后倒入较大颗粒的混合物中。然后使整个混合物振动,甲醇将有助于细颗粒在较大颗粒中的填隙式分布。然后蒸除甲醇。
在本发明方法的另一实施方案中,经过涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒可以是细粒的烧结聚集体。例如,烧结的磨料聚集体可以通过下列方法形成,该方法是粉碎和筛分商业上可得到的热稳定的烧结多晶金刚石压块(如Geoset或Syndax)或烧结的多晶CBN(“PCBN”)(如BZN或amborite)。从其它应用中得到的用过的或破裂的PCD压块也可以用作原料。通过利用商业上的PCD压块或其碎片,可以避免使用细粒粉末中固有的制造问题。
为了制备用于本发明的压块中的多晶聚集颗粒,将烧结的PCD压块粉碎到所需的粒度,然后通过在酸(如王水,一种3份小时硝酸和1份盐酸的浓溶液)中煮沸来彻底清洗。然后将这些磨料粒用去离子水漂洗,之后在高温下干燥。在约1300℃、10-5乇下高真空焙烧1小时除去氧、水和杂质。然后将这种PCD磨料粒视具体情况而定是否用化学添加剂、陶瓷添加剂或金属添加剂处理以降低其空隙率。用常规的涂敷技术进行金属涂敷后,以在此描述的对单晶涂敷颗粒的同样方法,对这种经过涂敷的磨料粒进行处理。
在HPHT处理之前,可以将包括抗氧化剂碳化物形成体或其碳化物的粉末或园片加入到模子中金刚石颗粒的一侧,以便在独立压块上形成可铜焊层。
可以在HPHT之前将一种衬底层材料放置于切割零件的相邻位置以形成一种加衬的压块。这衬底可以包括一种预型的粘结碳化钨园片或与钴混合的碳化钨粉末,或不同陶瓷衬底的园片或粉末。当制造粘结碳化钨加衬的压块时,由于难于控制在HPHT处理期间渗入压块中的钴的量,因此必须容许高于2%(体积)。
通过在HPHT处理之前在衬底和压块颗粒之间放置一个硅园片。可以使来自衬底的钴渗透阻止到某种程度。这种硅应在钴(在55千巴下熔点为1400℃)扩散之前发生渗透。在一种方法中,用10分钟将HPHT槽加热到1300℃,使硅熔化并显著渗透。然后用5分钟将温度提高到1450℃,以便充分地粘合碳化钨衬底以及使该衬底粘结到颗粒上。另一种方法,可以在1450℃下进行15分钟的HPHT处理。
为了提高热稳定性,在HPHT处理之前,还可以将含有细微高强度磨料粉末和金属粉末的混合物或经过金属涂敷的细微高强度磨料粉末的配合层放置于衬底与颗粒混合物之间。也可以使用含硅或硼的化合物的层。
下列实施例说明本发明方法和所得到的产品。在每个实施例中制备的切割零件和压块是由约82%(体积)的金刚石、5%(体积)的金属镀层和12%(体积)的粘结材料组成。实施例1-7包括加衬的压块。耐磨性试验结果列于表Ⅰ中。
实施例1
在一个Lindberg Box炉中,使0.6g的具有150微米标称直径和3微米厚钨涂层的金刚石颗粒通过在真空或还原气氛下于950-1150℃下高温焙烧2小时进行清洁。然后将它们装入一个保护的钽杯中。将该杯放入由Wanetek 2MHz Function Generator Model 20控制的APS 120S永久性磁铁电力振动充填台的固定装置中。将0.16g具有22微米标称直径的未经过涂敷的金刚石颗粒在王水中煮沸清洗,然后用去离子水漂洗。然后将这种未经过涂敷的金刚石颗粒在氢气气氛中于1050℃下干燥和焙烧2小时。将它们加到杯子中,并通过振动使其分散在较大的经过涂敷金刚石颗粒的空隙中。将这种粉末填充在12-24PSi压力下,通过300-500Hz,1-2g加速度。1-5微米的振幅下进行3-5分钟。将0.1g的粒度为0.5-1微米的第三种超细的未经过涂敷金刚石粉末用类似的方法清洗并将其悬浮于甲醇中。将该悬浮液加到杯中,并通过振动使其分散在剩下的间隙中。甲醇有助于这种小颗粒进入混合物的扩散。所得到的混合物的金刚石含量为80%(体积)。
将一个钴粘结的碳化钨衬底园片(钴含量约13-16%(重量)整齐地放在杯内的金刚石层的顶上。将该反应杯装入一个HPHT槽装置中,在55千巴下经15分钟将其加热到1450℃。将得到的三模态碳化钨支承的粘结/烧结体从装置中取出,然后用常规方法如表面研磨、磨光和外径研磨等方法,将其精加工成具有理想形状的产品。
通过检测各种温度下压块的磨损比值(在切割期间磨掉的岩石的体积对磨掉的压块的体积的比值)来测定压块的耐磨性和热稳定性。用一个夹子将精加工的压块装在刀具架上。用该车床湿切Barre花岗岩以测定室温下的磨损比值,其中车床的切削速度为300sfm,(每分钟表面进程)、每圈切削深度0.005英寸进程为0.012英寸。然后将压块取出,在一个封闭的石墨容器内于800℃下热处理20分钟。然后将它再次固定在刀具架上以便进行另外的耐磨性试验。在850-1000℃之间每50℃间隔以及在1100℃和1200℃的温度下重复这种方法。在每次结构降级(如破裂或切割零件与衬底离层等)热处理后,检测产品测定残存热稳定性。热降级并不是经常肉眼可测的,特别是当接近热临界温度时。在这种情况下,热不稳定性是由降低的耐磨性表示出来的。对常规的PCD刀具(如GE2541)和De Beers Improved Syndrill进行类似的试验用于比较。
结果表明尽管有来自衬底的钴的存在,这种三模态的压块在高达1100℃时都是热稳定的,由于介面离层常规的加衬PCD刀具在约825℃下就会损坏。如上讨论的,这种压块所显示的高热稳性可能是由于细高强度磨料晶体起着热膨胀缓冲剂的作用的缘故。
实施例2
将0.9g用3微米钨层涂敷的150微米的金刚石颗粒用上述方法清洗,然后与钴粘结碳化钨园片一同装入钽杯中。使金刚石进行无振动充填,将装好的杯如实例1那样进HPHT处理。所得到的粘结金刚石结构构成了含有小量钴的钨和碳化钨的粘结金属/金属碳化物支承结构。
如实施例1所述的试验表示了低于900℃的热稳定性。它比常规的粘结碳化钨加衬的PCD压块好,但没有实施例1的压块好。
实施例3
将0.4g的具有2微米钨涂层的150微米的硼掺杂的金刚石如上所述清洁处理,然后将其装入一个钽杯中,并在其顶上放入0.65g的50%(体积)的4微米的细金刚石粉末和50%(体积)的1微米的细钽粉末的混合物。在杯中的粉末层上整齐放入钴粘结的碳化钨园片,再进行HPHT处理。
得的压块在碳化钨与衬底的界面处含有一个具有细粒烧结的PCD配合层的粘结的PCD层。根据实施例1中所述方法的试验表明这种样品在高达1050℃时都是热稳定的。
实施例4-7
将下列粒度的钨涂敷的金刚石原料进行清洁处理并装入钽杯中以用于下面的每个实施例中。将一个0.010英寸厚的纯硅层放在金刚石层上,接着在其上放上一个钴粘结的碳化钨园片。HPHT在1300℃进行10分钟,在1450℃下进行5分钟。
实施例

如实施例1所述的试验表明与普通的PCD压块比较具有改进的热稳性和耐磨性。在实施例5-7中表示出较大的改进,它们具有比实施例4更厚的钨涂层。压块的热稳定性是通过防止钴扩散的硅的掺入保持的。衬底与压块之间离层在约1050℃(与常规压块约为850℃时发生离层的情形形成对比)下发生。这种硅粘结剂的附加物降低了该压块的空隙率,改进了它的整体强度。这些结果列于下表1中。类似于实施例4-7,但是不同的金刚石原料和控制的HPHT工艺温度的WC-加衬的切割零件的后续试验表示出高达1150℃的热稳定和更高的磨损比。作为一个实施例,由具有0.7微米厚的W-涂层的平均粒度为40微米的金刚石制成的WC-加衬压块在1200℃损坏之前在各种温度下表示出下列磨损比:2.0×105(室温)、1.6×105(800℃)、1.5×105(1000℃)、1.3×105(1050℃)、2.0×105(1100℃)、1.1×105(1150℃)。
如下面所述的制备下列实施例的独立式压块对其进行试验。用实施例1中所述的方法在900-1200℃之间每间隔100℃对这些样品进行试验的结果列于表Ⅱ中。
实施例8
将0.6g具有2微米钨涂层的175微米硼掺杂的金刚石颗粒和0.25g的22微米的未经过涂敷的金刚石如上所述进行清洁处理,然后使其与作为粘结剂的0.15g标称直径为0.1-0.9微米的Si3N4粉末混合。将该混合物在钽杯中振动,然后如实施例1那样进行HPHT处理。
所得到的独立式粘合的粘结压块与市售的独立式金刚石烧结压块(如GE2102和2164)相比表示出低于1200℃可比拟的热稳定性,但该压块表示出较低的磨损比。Syndax-3压块由于它的高脆性在试验期间破裂了。
实施例9和10
将1.7g的具有0.25微米厚钨涂层的粒度为70微米的硼掺杂的人造金刚石颗粒进行清洁处理后装入钽杯中。将一个钴园片(5.7%(重量)的铁)放在金刚石层的顶上。形成的独立式切割零件具有混合的粘结和烧结结构。这种薄金属涂层和钴造成一些金刚石-金刚石键合。
在实施例10中,用类似的方法制备300g的具有5微米钨涂层的粒径为175微米的硼掺杂的人造金刚石颗粒,随后产生一种具有均匀分散在钨/碳化钨基体中的钴的粘结体。这种较厚的钨涂层防止了金刚石-金刚石键的形成。
试验结果表明在室温下具有可与普通压块相比拟的磨损比,但破坏是在约800℃开始。大规模的结构降级在1000℃左右发生,这可能由于钴与金刚石之间的热膨胀失调及逆转变所致。横断面样品的分析表明钴与金刚石的表面接触,暗示在加工期间有钴通过该金属涂层的扩散,以及由于压实所造成的涂层剥落之类的现象发生。在低温应用中本发明利用钴的独立式切割零件作为常规PCD压块的良好替换物。
实施例11-17
将下列粒度的经钨涂敷的金刚石颗粒进行清洗处理并装入钽杯中,并且在金刚石的顶上或在顶上或底下放入硅粉末或硅的园片(如下面所述的)。在实施例12-14中,还包括所述材料的可铜焊层。

磨损比数据示于表Ⅱ中,它们与市售压块的数据相类似。使用标准银钎料铜焊合金如Handy and Harman Co的Easy-F1045使样品14牢固地铜焊到碳化钨园片上。将其基体放在Ingstron机器的固定装置上对该样品进行剪切试验。向切割零件侧施加一个逐渐增大的力,直到它从基体上分离下来。抗剪强度或造成分离的力为18000psi。
下列实施例说明作为压块的原料,细粒烧结的多晶金刚石压块的应用。将这种聚集体在王水中煮沸清洗,然后用去离子水漂洗。将它们干燥,在约1300℃和10-5乇下真空焙烧1小时,然后用钨涂敷至所述厚度。用上述同样方法清净涂层的颗粒。用实施例1的方法进行试验,这些样品的试验结果列于表Ⅲ中。
实施例18
将0.8g的具有4微米厚钨涂层的200微米PCD粉碎聚集料装入Ta杯中。将钴粘结的碳化钨(含钴6%(重量))衬底园片整齐地安放在金刚石层的上面。
在1450℃和55千巴下HPHT处理10分钟,得到一种碳化钨支承的粘结/烧结压块,将该压块如实施例1中所述的方法进行精加工。
与表Ⅰ中试验的常规加衬刀具相比较,表示出稍高的热稳定性和类似的耐磨性。在每种情况下结构性破坏开始于约900℃。在约825℃时,该压块的界面层在碳化钨/金刚石界面处发生破裂(离层)。

实施例20
将2.4g用4微米的钨涂敷的200微米PCD聚集原料装入钽杯。将一个0.020英寸厚的硅园片放于金刚石层之上,并如上处理。得到一种独立式粘结压块,与表Ⅱ相比表明这种切割零件具有高于市售产品(如GE′s Geose De Beers′ Syndax-3)的耐磨性和热稳定性。

实施例21
在这一实施例中,使用硅钛合金作为粘结剂。制备含90%(重量)的Si和10%(重量)的Ti的Si/Ti合金。将0.020英寸厚的Si/Ti合金园片放置于用1微米厚钨层涂敷的90微米(平均)的金刚石原料之上。对反应杯装置如上所述进行HPHT处理,形成用于耐磨性试验的独立式PCD压块。发现磨损比在室温下为3.1×105,1000℃下为3.4×105和1200℃下为1.8×105。
实施例22
将1.7g平均粒径为90微米的金刚石原料用0.5微米的钼涂敷、在氮气气氛中进行清洁处理,并装入钽杯。将一个0.020英寸厚的硅园片放置于金刚石层之上,并在该Si园片上放置一个0.004英寸厚的钽园片。然后在Ta园片上钳紧该杯来封住物料。然后将装置在约55千巴,约1450℃下处理约15分钟。得到一种独立式粘结压块,并通过(rock lathe granite turning test)进行耐磨性试验。其结果列于下面。

实施例23
如上所述在一个模中制备直径为0.530英寸厚度为0.100英寸的独立式切割零件。然后,将这种切割零件在Charmilles/Andrews Model EF-320移动式有线放电加工机床上以2.8英寸/小时的切割速度切成图4a所示的形状。使用铜和黄铜两种线(直径均为0.01英寸)效果良好。由于它们的高热稳定性、均匀导电性和可铜焊性,这些切割零件可以通过已知常规工具制造方法(如铜焊或基质金属/粘结剂渗透)结合到各种不同类型的工具上。即使没有可粘结层的独立式PCD产品,使用市售的黄铜合金(例如Westgo Co.公司的Incusil和Ticusil两种黄铜合金)证明了它对常规Co/WC基体的可铜焊性。
本发明的切割零件和加衬的压块优于或类似于它们先有技术中的产品。利用硅作粘结剂的本发明独立式切割零件高达1200℃时都是热稳定的,并没有显著结构破坏或明显石墨化的迹象。参见实施例9和11-17。这是可与常规PCD压块(如Geoset和Syndax-3)的热稳定性相比拟的。本发明的具有粘结碳化钨衬底和硅浸渗剂的加衬压块在1000℃以下是热稳定的。利用细金刚石粉末的三模态以及单一粒度细粒加衬压块在高达1150℃时都是热稳定性。没有硅浸渗剂的配合层的使用表明了热稳定性高达1000℃。参见实施例1-7。这些压块与在750-850℃下就发生热破坏的先有技术的加衬PCD压块(如GE2541和Syndrill)(如表1所示)相比表示出了优异的热稳定性。包括经过涂敷的细粒烧结聚集体的切割零件和加衬压块与常规的PCD压块相比,表现出更高的耐磨性,和类似的或更高的热稳定性。参见表Ⅲ。另外,由于基质的存在,本发明比常规的PCD压块更能阻止破裂扩张。这种粘结的金属/金属碳化物支承结构还降低了压块的硬度和弹性模量,与常规的PCD压块比较,改进了它的抗冲击性。这种金属基体还降低了利用硅的先有技术压块的脆性。
Claims (46)
1、一种热稳定的高强度磨料产品,该产品包括许多独立的经金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒,所说的金属选自ⅣA、VA或ⅣA族和它们的合金,所说的涂层在粘结物质中使所说的高强度磨料颗粒粘结在一起形成基体,所说的高强度磨料颗粒包括所说的粘结物质体积的至少70%。
2、一种如权利要求1所述的高强度磨料产品,其中的粘结物质为预定形状的,所说的金属涂层包括所说的粘结物质体积的约4~30%。
3、一种如权利要求1或2所述的高强度磨料产品,其中的涂层将所说的高强度磨料颗粒粘结到粘结物质中形成导电基体,以使得这种物质可以用有线放电机切割。
4、一种如权利要求3所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的基体进一步包括一种粘结剂,该粘合剂位于所说金属涂敷的颗粒之间的空隙中。
5、一种如权利要求4所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的粘结剂为硅。
6、一种如权利要求4所述的高述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的粘结剂为一种硅和钛的混合物。
7、一种如权利要求4所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的粘结剂为一种含硅或硼的化合物。
8、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的金属选自钨、钽和钼。
9、一种如权利要求8所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的金属为钨。
10、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的金属涂层构成所说产品体积的约4-30%。
11、一种如权利要求10所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的金属涂层构成所说产品体积的约8-10%。
12、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的高强度磨料产品,该产品包括粒度小于所说涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒的未经涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒,所说的未经过涂敷的颗粒被分散在所说的经涂敷的颗粒之中。
13、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的高强度磨料产品,其中的磨料产品包括大量的均匀粒度的磨料粒,每个所说的磨料粒包括许多分立的金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒。
14、一种如权利要求13所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的磨料粒的粒度为10/20目。
15、一种如权利要求13所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的磨料粒的粒度为20/35目。
16、一种如权利要求13所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的磨料粒的粒度为35/40目。
17、一种如权利要求13所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的磨料粒的粒度为50/60目。
18、一种如权利要求13所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的磨料粒的粒度为60/80目。
19、一种如权利要求13~18中任一项所述的高强度磨料产 品,该产品包括一个所说磨料粒上的第二金属涂层,所说的第二金属选自ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族或它们的合金,所说的第二金属涂层为5-100微米厚。
20、一种如权利要求19所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的第二金属涂层为10-20微米厚。
21、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的产品,其中的高强度磨料颗粒包括单晶金刚石,多晶金刚石或立方碳化硼。
22、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的产品,该产品包括粘结到所说粘结体上的衬底件。
23、一种如权利要求22所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的衬底件包括含硅化合物的陶瓷基体。
24、一种如权利要求22或23所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的衬底件包括粘结的碳化钨。
25、一种如权利要求22~24中任一项所述的产品,该产品包括所说的粘结体和所说的衬底件之间的配合层。
26、一种如上述任一权利要求所述的产品,以切割零件形式使用时,该零件包括一个可铜焊层,该可铜焊层在所述的切割零件的至少一侧,所说的可铜焊层包括抗氧化碳化物形成体或其碳化物。
27、一种如权利要求26所述的产品,其中所说的可铜焊层包括钨、钼、钛、或碳化钨。
28、一种如权利要求26或27所述的产品,其中所说的可铜焊层位于所说的切割零件的相对侧面上。

30、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是用于磨削工具的切割零件。
31、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是用于机械加工工具的切割零件。
32、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是用于木工工具的切割零件。
33、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是用于拔丝模切割零件。
34、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是用于切削工具的切割零件。
35、一种如权利要求1~28中任一项所述的高强度磨料产品,其中所说的产品是轴承零件。
36、一种生产任一上述权利要求所述的高强度磨料产品的方法,该方法包括:将大量的分立金属涂敷的高强度磨料颗粒放于一个模中,所说的金属为元素周期表中ⅣA,ⅤA或ⅥA族金属或任何所说金属的合金,使所说模中的内含物经高温高压处理,以使所说涂敷的颗粒的金属涂层粘结到相邻涂敷颗粒的金属涂层上形成粘结体。
37、一种如权利要求36所述的方法,该方法包括在对所述的模进行所说的高压和高温处理之前,向所说的模中插入粘结剂。
38、一种如权利要求36或37所述的方法,该方法包括使所说的粘结体粉碎成分立的磨料粒。
39、一种如权利要求38所述的方法,该方法包括筛分选择所说的分立的磨料粒来生产均匀粒度的磨料粒。

42、一种如权利要求36-41中任一项所述的方法,进一步包括用一种经过金属涂敷所说的磨料粒,所说的金属选自ⅣA、ⅤA或ⅥA族或它们的合金。
43、一种如权利要求36-42中任一项所述的方法,其中所说的涂层的高强度磨料颗粒为烧结的多晶聚集体。
44、一种如任一实施例中所述的热稳定的高强度磨料产品。
45、一种如任一实施例中所述的生产高强度磨料粒的方法。
