背景技术
蠕动泵由于其输送相对高精确度的给药剂量的能力而广泛用于各种设备中。蠕动泵通常使用具有壁的弹性管,壁限定出具有在特定承受范围内的直径的流体流动腔。管通常使用硅树脂或类似聚合物制成,这允许压缩并相对快速地恢复到管的原始形状。在流体输送过程中,管保持与泵构件接合,泵构件有选择地压缩管的一部分以从流体流动腔的一部分中排出液体,并推动流体穿过腔下游。一旦泵构件与管的部分脱开,管恢复到其原始形状,并且腔充满附加流体。
在线性或曲线蠕动泵中,大致如图1A中的10所示,管件14可围裹或拉伸绕过多个连接构件或泵爪18。连接构件18继而延伸进入管14以塌缩管并向下游推动流体。随着连接构件18缩回,弹性管14回到其正常横截面,以此允许腔盛满将在下一个循环中被推动的流体。由连接部件18塌缩的管14段提供相对已知的腔中的溶液体积。因此,连接部件的每个循环推动一定量的流体并且多次重复循环将输送所需的剂量。曲线泵的操作的更具体说明可见于美国专利6,164,921。
在转动式蠕动泵中,如图1B所示,管14通常锚固在泵体20的相对两端14a和14b。锚固可通过连接弹性管14至其它管的连接件24完成。(硅树脂管通常比其它类型的管更贵,所以仅在位于泵上的部分使用硅树脂管是经济的做法)。在相对端14a和14b之间,管被围绕在具有多个连接构件或辊子38、38a、38b的转子28周围。随着辊子绕着转子移动,辊子将挤压管并塌缩腔(如辊子38a所示的)。这导致相对已知的流体量被布置在辊子38a和38b之间的管部分14c的腔中。随着辊子38a继续移动进入辊子38所示的位置,辊子塌缩管并推动腔中的流体向前。因此每个转子28的第三次旋转都向下游输送大致已知量的流体。因此,使用者可通过简单地控制转子转动次数来获得所需剂量。转动式蠕动泵的更详细功能可见于美国专利5,720,721。
尽管蠕动泵是相对精确的,但是它们的精确度很大程度上取决于管的物理性能和沿着管的物理状态。例如,美国专利5,720,721中教导置于转子上游和下游的多个压力传感器42以探测管内的压力变化,压力变化可影响管每次转动推动的流体量。气泡探测器46也可被用于确保适量的液体被推动和/或不存在不期望的空气等等。
除了管中的压力和被泵出的流体内的材料之外,管自身的物理参数也对精确度有影响。这些物理参数可包括限定出腔的壁的厚度、腔的直径(即管的内径)、管的长度和管的材料性能,例如硬度计等级(总体与管的压缩性能相关)和杨氏模量(总体与管的拉伸性能相关)。
各个物理参数或性能能够影响泵输送的流体的精确度。例如,如果管具有比另一个管大的内径,由于更大的横截面区域,它将随着蠕动泵的每个循环运送较大体积的流体。同样地,管的塌缩性的变化将影响随着泵的每个循环通过管的溶液量。此外,长度是重要的,因为拉伸管将自然地减少管的内径,并且减少随着每个泵循环推动的流体量。然而,更易拉伸的管实际上可随着每个循环输送稍高的流体量。
因为管的物理参数对通过泵的实际流量有显著影响,常见的是对于制造用于医用泵或其它泵的蠕动泵盒或供给管路要求高度精确度以要求管原料在一定参数内。例如,制造场内饲喂泵盒或注射泵盒的公司可采购管并要求其被交付时具有长5英寸±0.040英寸、具有0.200英寸±0.003英寸的外径、0.120英寸±0.003英寸的内径并具有邵氏硬度50±5的硬度计等级。
在管规格中所允许的变化相对较小时,各个变化具有对泵的容积精确度的影响。例如,管壁厚度的不同可产生在输出值中2%的不同。同样地,管的硬度计等级或杨氏模量的不同可产生在输出值中2%的不同。当各个变化叠加时,管的差异可产生在泵的总输出流量中5-10%之间的不同。
需要理解的是泵的精确度可通过进一步减少管必须符合的公差而增加,这需要生产商提供更接近符合公差的管,这通常导致更高的管采购价格,因此对于终端用户增加了蠕动泵设备的价格。
因此,当对于在使用符合预定参数组的管时,提高了蠕动泵的精确度的方法的需要。
发明内容
根据本发明的主旨,已经发现可通过至少部分根据物理特性,而不是在环境状态下的一系列预定长度切割管,来实现在蠕动泵中流体输送中的精确度的提高。
根据本发明的一个方面,管受到预定或已知的力而拉伸。拉伸的管之后被切割至预定长度并释放。一旦释放,管回到非拉伸状态。具有各种不同直径和弹性的管将具有稍微不同的长度。然而,结合到饲喂盒的管提供更稳定的剂量,因为管的物理性能改变至少部分由长度的不同抵消。

现参考图2,如图所示为形成在蠕动泵中使用的管段的方法的流程图。方法的第一步是选择在总公差内的原料管。例如,肠内饲喂泵盒的生产商可订购具有0.200英寸±0.003英寸的外径和0.120英寸±0.003英寸的内径且具有邵氏硬度50±5硬度等级的管。
弹性管的选择原料可以成卷的形式或按规格裁切段的形式。无论何种,管应大致符合生产商规定的公差规格。在实施本发明的步骤之前将允许管在给定的准确范围内。
一旦原料被选定,管被支撑或锚固。这可以通过将管连接至支撑件或通过将管连接至连接件、例如蠕动泵盒的连接件或转接器来完成。

管段114a被拉伸到长度L1,长度可能因为管物理特性的差异而在每个管段之间稍有不同。在一个样品组的管中的差异的范围在0.04英寸每英寸管的区域内。一旦管段114a被拉伸,切割设备130被用于在预定位置切割管。切割可在距与力施加器122相连的远端预定距离处,因此形成切割管段。在可选实施例中,管段可在距离支撑件或锚固件118预定长度处切割,如L2所示,并且也在支撑件或锚固件处切割。需要理解的是,如果管段114a仅被拉伸使得切割管段为所需长度,L1和L2可以是相等长度。
一旦管段114a被切割,施加在管段上的力可被移除,并且它们将恢复至环境状态,如114b所示。六英寸拉伸管段可为大约例如4.9至5.1英寸,并且被使用以形成饲喂泵盒,注射泵盒等等。管段在一般环境状态下(即没有纵向拉伸)通常安装在泵盒内,在有些应用中管段可在泵盒内被预拉伸。
如在此使用的那样,盒可包括用于转动式蠕动泵的管段,转动式蠕动泵通常包括安装在连接件上的管段114b的一端,连接件的位置彼此相邻,使得管段形成大体U形(至少当其安装在泵上时)。然而,对于线形泵,盒可简单地是管在每一端安装至一个连接件上。术语“盒”应被视为覆盖在蠕动泵中使用的这样结构及其它结构。
现参照图4A和4B,如图所示为被切割的管段114a和根据本发明的蠕动泵盒的其它部分,管段114a可在第一端114d与连接件140(图4A)、160(图4B)相连,由此分别形成饲喂泵盒144、164的一部分。连接件140、160的一部分通常延伸进入管段114a,并由虚线示出。
盒连接器140、160可被保持,并且管段114a可受到已知力,例如重物122。已知力可以是例如4至6磅之间。管段114可由切割机构130在距连接件140预定距离处切割。切割段114e可与另一连接件150相连,由此形成蠕动泵盒管环。
在盒144可作为转动式蠕动泵盒时,其它构造也可被制造。例如,对于线形或曲线形蠕动泵,连接件160、170通常被置于管段114a的相对端,如图4B所示。连接件160、170可安装在线形或曲线形泵机构的相对侧以牢固地保持管段114a,同时由泵机构在其上起作用。
图5所示是形成用于提高根据本发明的主旨的蠕动泵的管段的精确度的可替代方法。原料管可被支撑或锚固。这可以通过连接管的一端至连接件或通过支撑或锚固来自批量管的管段来进行。然后,管段在所需管段的适当相对端之外被抓取,并且施加力直到管段达到预定长度。测量器或应变计测量得到所需长度需要的力的大小。管接着在与得到预定长度所需的力的大小相关联的位置处被切割。
现参照图6,如图所示是根据达到预定长度的压力的不同位置处切割的管。原料110可被用于供给管114。原料可以是成卷的管,或者可以是笔直管件。在此的任何例子中的原料甚至可以是刚刚挤制的管。
管段114b可被支撑件或锚固件118捕获。如先前所述,这可在之后被切割的连续管件上进行,或管的一端可安装在锚固件上,例如蠕动泵盒的连接件。管段114a的自由端(或远点)由力施加器122固定,力施加器122施加的力由箭头126指代。管拉伸至预定长度L3,长度L3可以是例如5.5英寸。拉伸管段114a至所需长度需要的力可由测量器或应变计134监控。切割机构130的位置可根据拉伸管段114a至所需长度需要的力而调整,并且切割机构切割管段。如果管段的相对一端114a还没有被切割,比如装在支撑件或锚固件上的件,相对一端例如通过支撑件或锚固件118被切割。切割的管段114b可以先于连接到盒的连接件等之前恢复到它们的环境长度。
作为上述的替代,管可拉伸到至少部分根据管的物理特性被选择的已知长度,物理特性的例子如,管的杨氏模量或硬度计等级,精确的管尺寸等。例如,如果管具有已知邵氏硬度80,管可延伸至长度A,同时具有已知邵氏硬度70的管可延伸至长度B。可制作表格以提供根据实验检验的所需调整以提供用于已知物理参数的所需的力。
现参照图7A和7B,如图所示为用于转动式蠕动泵和线性或曲线蠕动泵的蠕动泵盒144、164。在每个构造中,管段114a的自由端114d可与被支撑或保持在所需位置上的连接器140、160相连。管段114a可被力施加器122拉伸,以拉伸管段至预定长度。用于拉伸管段114a所需要的力的大小由测量器或应变计134测量。
切割机构130然后被调整以在用于拉伸管至所需长度所需要的力相关的长度切割。因此,例如,管段可依靠仅4磅的拉力得到预定长度。切割机构130可被移动至位置A并进行切割。与此相反,另一个管段(来自另一批或者甚至内部批量)可能要求5磅的压力以拉伸管至所需长度。这可与被移动至距离管的端部稍远的位置并且之后进行切割的切割机构130有关。这导致管段114a的长度稍有不同。长度的不同帮助最小化在得到管的公差内的管之间的精确度差异。不同长度的管段114a减小泵盒144、164中的精确度差异。

类似地,一种提高泵盒的精确度的方法可包括:选择成批量的管;拉伸出管段;切割管段;并且将管段的至少一端连接至连接件以形成泵盒。方法还包括:在拉伸管段之前,将管段与泵盒的连接件相连;在预定力下拉伸管段;和/或管段拉伸至预定长度,或任何的它们组合。
因此,本发明公开了一种用于形成肠内饲喂和注射泵盒的改进方法。需要理解的是可对本发明进行许多改变而不偏离本发明的范围。
Claims (20)
1.一种用于形成蠕动泵盒的方法,所述方法包括:
将至少一个连接件连接到管段;
施加预定力以拉伸已连接的所述管段;
以预定长度切割已连接的所述管段;以及
将所述至少一个连接件和所述管段连接到蠕动泵盒。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括使所述管段受到在4磅至6磅之间的力的作用。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括切割所述管段,使得在周围环境状态下的所述管段在4.9英寸至5.1英寸之间。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述管段具有0.200英寸±0.003英寸的外部直径和0.120英寸±0.003英寸的内部直径。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述管段在管的一端处连接至所述至少一个连接件。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,从批量原料拉制出所述管段,并且其中所述管段在拉伸之前在一端处被支撑或锚固。
7.根据权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,所述批量原料是在预定变化范围内的成卷的管。
8.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述预定长度至少部分地根据所述管段的物理特性。
9.一种用于形成蠕动泵盒的方法,所述方法包括:
将连接件连接到管段;
向已连接的所述管段施加力以将所述管段拉伸至预定长度;
在与将所述管段拉伸至所述预定长度所需的力相关联的位置处切割已连接的所述管段;以及
将所述连接件和所述管段连接至蠕动泵盒。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括使所述管段受到在4磅至6磅之间的力的作用。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括切割所述管段,使得在周围环境状态下的所述管段在4.9英寸至5.1英寸之间。
12.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述管段具有0.200英寸±0.003英寸的外部直径和0.120英寸±0.003英寸的内部直径。
13.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,在拉伸之前将所述管段在管的一端处连接到连接件。
14.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,从批量原料拉制出所述管段,并且其中所述管段在拉伸之前在一端处被支撑或锚固。

16.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述批量原料是在预定范围变化内的成卷的管。
17.一种用于提高泵盒中的精确度的方法,方法包括:
选择批量的管;
将第一连接器连接至所述管的第一端;
拉伸已附接的所述管的一管段;
切割已附接的所述管段;以及
通过将所述管的第二端与第二连接件相连以形成所述泵盒。
18.根据权利要求17所述的方法,其特征在于,在预定力下拉伸所述管段。
19.根据权利要求17所述的方法,其特征在于,将所述管段拉伸至预定长度。
20.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述预定长度至少部分地根据所述管段的物理特性。
