技术领域

背景技术
玻璃制品是已知的,其特定特性可以在适合的电源的作用下被改变,所述特性更特别地是对于电磁辐射的特别在可见和/或红外范围内的特定波长的传输性、吸收性、反射性,或者替代地是光的散射性。
在建设领域和机动车领域二者中,无论哪里需要在给定时间防止透过玻璃制品观察,具有液晶的电可控玻璃制品在任何地方均可以使用。
文件WO9805998公开了具有液晶的复层玻璃制品,包括:
-两个1m2浮法玻璃片,其具有6mm的厚度,通过由环氧树脂制成的粘合密封连接部在其内表面的边缘上密封,
-两个电极,其由基于SnO2:F的导电层制成,直接位于玻璃板的内表面上,

这种玻璃制品的光学性能和可靠性可以改善。此外,这种玻璃制品昂贵、笨重、庞大并且特别地难于处理。
发明内容
本发明的目的是开发可靠的具有液晶的复层玻璃制品,其具有令人满意的光学性能并且优选是紧凑的。
因此,本发明首先提供具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品,其具有:
-第一和第二平坦浮法玻璃片,其通过密封连接部在其内表面的边缘上密封,所述密封连接部特别地由给定的密封材料、特别实质上有机的密封材料制成,
-第一和第二电极,其在第一和第二玻璃片的内表面上,呈透明导电层的形式且设置有电源,
-以及液晶层,其在第一和第二电极上,通过施加交变电场而在透明状态和半透明状态之间可逆交替,所述层具有在包含端点在内的15μm与60μm之间的平均厚度E,并且加入间隔件、特别是透明的间隔件。
第一和第二玻璃片中每一个的厚度A小于或等于5.5mm,并且涂覆有第一和第二电极的内表面中的每一个具有小于12E/15的以毫屈光度(或mdt)表述的屈光缺陷分值,其中液晶的厚度E以μm表述。
本申请人发现了玻璃板的质量与具有液晶的复层玻璃制品的光学性能之间的关系。
图1示出例如1.7mm的两个标准薄玻璃板10、20的组件,其作为参照玻璃制品,所述两个标准薄玻璃板相互面对并且在其间形成间隙,所述间隙容纳具有15μm厚度的液晶层5。内表面11'、21'具有平面度缺陷,并且液晶的厚度是可变的。
在“关”状态(半透明状态),与液晶层的厚度密切相关的光传输性因此是不均匀的。因此产品的质量不可接受,因为视觉可观察的暗区域和亮区域。
为了确保良好的光学均匀性,涂覆的玻璃板因此应具有受限的屈光缺陷。
根据本发明的玻璃板确保了液晶层在整个表面上充分均匀的厚度,因此其光学性能上的变化几乎没有。这避免了玻璃制品的不合格率并且因此改善了其可靠性。
我们以下将限定屈光缺陷和测量方法。
我们可以通过y(x)定义所探究的每个玻璃片(涂覆或未涂覆)的内表面的轮廓,其中x表示在内表面上的位置。该轮廓的变化可以通过光学反射倍率(opticalreflectionpower)ORP表征,其通过以下关系限定:
y(x)的变化是由于两个现象:

例如,对于具有30mm节距的正弦轮廓y(x)而言,10mdt的屈光缺陷对应于约+/-0.20μm的轮廓变化。在最坏的情况下,两玻璃片组件的空间变化(因而液晶的厚度变化E)则翻倍,即约+/-0.40μm。对于具有15mm的节距的缺陷而言,同样的10mdt屈光缺陷对应于+/-0.05μm的轮廓变化,液晶的厚度变化E因而在最坏的情况下是+/-0.10μm。
浮法玻璃片的屈光缺陷的节距涵盖从数毫米至数十毫米的范围。与液晶厚度E的均匀性密切联系的在“关”状态下的光传输性的均匀性由具有所有节距的所有屈光缺陷得出。
在“关”状态下的光传输性的均匀性还以LC的平均厚度E为条件。厚度E越大,越大的厚度变化可以被容忍。这就是分值根据本发明被构建为平均厚度的函数的原因。
浮法玻璃的屈光缺陷主要与玻璃的推进速率(线的拉拔速率)联系。玻璃推进速率越大,屈光缺陷越大。对于给定的产量(或者每日的吨位)和给定的原始玻璃宽度而言,玻璃推进速率与玻璃片的厚度A成反比。因此,玻璃片越薄,玻璃推进速率越高并且屈光缺陷越大。
因此,不可能使用任意厚度,因为确定玻璃的可能厚度的是玻璃的屈光质量。本发明允许我们在保证最终产品的质量的同时选择薄于6mm的玻璃板。本发明例如允许我们在保证最终产品的光学质量的同时使用最小的可能厚度。例如,2mm玻璃板可以被选择,只要所述玻璃板以低得足以确保屈光缺陷限度的拉拔速率制造。
此外,即使使用6mm玻璃板,如果吨位太高,例如2000吨/天,屈光缺陷也将太大。
呈(多个)层的电极对屈光缺陷不具有明显的影响。因此,如果“裸露的”浮法玻璃是适合的,那么涂覆有电极层的玻璃也将是适合的。
自然地,为了简单和经济起见,优选的是选择适合的浮法玻璃,而不是必须使通过其它制造方法获得的任何玻璃光滑(抛光等)。
本发明此外使得可能的是,制造宽度大于1m的高性能液晶复层玻璃制品。
在优选的实施方式中,
-对于小于30μm的厚度E,特别通过在具有至少550吨/天且优选限制于700吨/天的产量的浮法线上生产的第一玻璃片和第二玻璃片的厚度A在包含端点在内的3mm和5.5mm之间,
或者

根据本发明,开口-补充有附加的密封结构-中断这种具有液晶的复层玻璃制品的连接部,通过特别在液晶层的边缘区域中有助于液晶层的均匀分布,(在关状态下的)光学性能得到改善。
这种开口-补充有附加的密封结构-的发明性的用途本身构成发明。然而,在优选的实施方式中,其与如上文限定的具有受限的厚度A和受限的屈光度分值的玻璃板相联结。
此外,实际上可能的是,使用所有通过术语“NCAP”(向列型曲线排列相)或“PDLC”(聚合物分散液晶)或“CLC”(胆甾液晶)或“NPD-LCD”(非均匀聚合物分散液晶显示器)已知的液晶系统。
所述液晶系统此外可以特别在液晶的液滴中以溶解方式包含二向色着色剂。通过该系统,光的散射性和光的吸收性此时可以共同被调控。
还可能的是,例如使用包含少量交联聚合物的基于胆甾液晶的凝胶,比如描述在专利WO-92/19695中的。更广泛地说,“PSCT”(聚合物稳定的胆甾相织构)因此可以选择。
自然地,液晶系统可以基本扩散在玻璃制品整个表面(除边沿以外)各处或者(至少)扩散在一个有限的区域各处。液晶系统可以是不连续的,呈多个块(例如是像素类型)。
如上文限定的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品可以用作车辆或建筑中的玻璃制品。
根据本发明的玻璃制品可以特别用作:
-在建筑内(在两个房间之间或在区域内)、在地上、空中或水中运动装置内(两个车厢之间,在出租车内,等)的内部隔断,
-玻璃门、窗、天花板、(底板、天花板)贴砖,
-车辆后视镜、侧面玻璃窗、地上、空中或水中运动装置的顶篷,
-投影屏幕,
-商店正面、特别是商店柜台的窗。
自然地,根据本发明的玻璃制品可以形成隔板和其它窗(比如气窗等)的整体或一部分,或者(通过附加额外的玻璃制品)形成复层玻璃制品。
本发明还涉及用于制造如上文限定的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品的方法,包括以下步骤:
-形成密封连接部,包括在设置有第一电极的第一浮法玻璃片上(在边界处)施加密封材料(优选为实质上有机的,特别为环氧树脂),
-(在形成密封连接部之前或之后)将具有平均厚度E的液晶层液体沉积在设置有第一电极的第一浮法玻璃片上和可选地在设置有第二电极的第二浮法玻璃片上,
-在形成密封连接部和沉积液晶层之后,特别通过压延或按压而将第一和第二玻璃片带至接触,
-以及,在将第一和第二玻璃片带至接触之前,通过不连续施加密封材料和/或通过连续施加密封材料并且产生形成开口的中断部,形成密封连接部的多个所述开口,每个所述开口限定侧向连接部末端。
至少两个开口优选定位成面对(具有直边缘或弯边缘的片的)第一片边缘,并且至少两个其它开口面对与第一边缘相反的第二边缘,在压延的情况下,这些边缘对应于压延方向的边缘。
在按压的情况下,特别地,至少两个开口还定位成面对与第一边缘(以及与第二边缘)相邻的第三边缘,并且至少两个其它开口面对与第三边缘相反的第四边缘。
方法此外可以包括施加附加密封材料,其形成在连接部的侧向末端之间的桥接部。
附加密封材料可以由所述密封材料构成,因此形成材料连续性,其优选为实质上有机的,特别为环氧树脂。
优选地,在连接部的侧向末端之间的宽度至少可以是5mm,例如10mm。

具体实施方式
表示在图2中的示例性实施方式示出在第一实施方式中的根据本发明的液晶复层玻璃制品的设计。
在两个浮法玻璃片1和1'上,具有约20nm至400nm的厚度、具有外表面21、31并且由例如铟锡氧化物(ITO)制成的导电层3、4布置在内表面11、21上。ITO层具有在和之间的薄层电阻。代替由ITO制成的层,其它导电氧化物层或者具有类似薄层电阻的银层也可以用于同样的目的。
可以具有约15μm至60μm厚度的液晶层5放置在电极层3和4之间。
液晶层5容纳球形间隔件。间隔件6由透明硬质聚合物构成。例如,来自SekisuiChemicalCo.,Ltd、通过标识“MicropearlSP”已知的产品被证明高度适合作为间隔件。
为了确保液晶层5厚度E的均匀性以及因此确保具有液晶的玻璃制品的光学性能,具有其电极3、4的玻璃板1、1'中的每一个用根据本发明的屈光缺陷分值来选择,所述分值通过阴影镜检术(umbrascopy)在反射中测出。
基本原理与几何光学相关联。布局图表示在图3中。
来自非常薄的源比如投影仪100的光通量投射到(涂覆或未涂覆有电极的)玻璃片11的面上,该面意图为内表面。被投影的图像在从玻璃片的内表面11反射之后在屏幕300上被观察到。所述图像由数码相机200获取以便处理。从第二面12的反射通过用润湿的黑色织物来抑制(neutralize),所述黑色织物放置在玻璃板1后方并且玻璃通过毛细作用结合在所述黑色织物上。
图4指出阴影镜检图像基于玻璃的平面度轮廓Y(x)在屏幕300上形成的原理。玻璃板上的凹区域(会聚缺陷)致使被反射的入射光110的集中并且因此致使在屏幕300上的局部过度照明。玻璃上的凸区域(发散缺陷)致使被反射的入射光120扩散并且因此致使在屏幕300上的局部照明不足。
图5示出局部照度曲线E(x)和平均照度曲线E0(x)的实施例。
当局部照度E(x)等于平均照度E0(x)时,对比度为零,因而Y"(x)=0且光学倍率为零。
当局部照度E(x)大于平均照度E0(x)时,对比度为负且Y"(x)<0。因此包含会聚缺陷,其对应于玻璃板上的凹进。
当局部照度E(x)小于平均照度E0(x)时,对比度为正且Y"(x)>0。因此包含发散缺陷,其对应于玻璃板上的凸出。
已知平面度变化在整个宽度的方向上更明显,为了解释设备的运行原理,我们将考虑在垂直于铸造方向且垂直于玻璃表面的平面内的平面度轮廓。
基于几何光学定律和能量守恒定律可知,在屏幕上测量的对应于玻璃板上横坐标点x的照度E(x)与玻璃板表面的轮廓Y(x)之间存在关系。
基于以下方面进行特定的几何简化:布局呈准正交反射并且源被认为是点源,给出以下关系:

对比度对应于在投影到屏幕上的阴影镜检图像上观察到的“线性度”(这里加引号是因为考虑的是轮廓而不是表面)的视觉感知。
对于图像的每个像素,处理软件计算对比度,并因此计算光学反射倍率ORP。
屈光缺陷分值(以毫屈光度表述)反映光学倍率的均匀性,并且实际上是光学反射倍率在内表面各处分布的标准差σ,由以下关系限定:

分值必须小于12E/15以便确保足够的光学传输质量,也就是说确保在“关”状态下光传输性的良好的均匀性。
例如,对于15μm的厚度E,在具有600吨/天产量的标准浮法线的情况下,在3.5m的原始玻璃宽度的情况下:
-2.1mm玻璃的分值小于22mdt,
-3mm玻璃的分值小于11mdt,
-4mm玻璃的分值小于8mdt。
此外,还可能的是,使用已知的化合物用于液晶层,例如描述在文件US5691795中的化合物。来自MerckCo.,Ltd、以品牌名称“CyanobiphenylNematicLiquidCrystalE-31LV”销售的液晶化合物也被证明特别适合。在本实施方式的情况下,所述产品以10:2的比率混合手性物质,例如4-氰基-4'-(2-甲基)丁基联苯(4-cyano-4'-(2-methyl)butylbiphenyl),并且该混合物以10:0.3的比率混合单体,例如4,4'-二丙烯酰基联苯(4,4’-bisacryloylbiphenyl),以及混合UV引发剂,例如苯偶姻甲基醚(benzoinmethylether)。以这种方式制备的混合物被施加到涂覆的玻璃片其中之一上。在液晶层通过用UV光照射固化之后,其中加入液晶的聚合物网络形成。
作为改型,液晶层不包含稳定聚合物而仅包含包括液晶的化合物和间隔件。因此在不具有单体添加剂的情况下,包括液晶的化合物以3μm至20μm的厚度被如此施加到玻璃片1、1'其中之一上。这种类型的用于液晶层的化合物例如描述在文件US3963324中。
对于液晶层,可能的是使用PDLC,比如化合物4-((4-乙基-2,6-二氟苯基)乙炔基)-4'-丙基(4-((4-ethyl-2,6-difluorophenyl)-ethinyl)-4'-propylbiphenyl)和2-氟-4,4'-双(反式-4-丙基环己基)-联苯(2-fluoro-4,4'-bis(trans-4-propylcyclohexyl)-biphenyl),例如由Merck公司以编号MDA-00-3506销售的。
在边缘上,液晶层由粘合性密封连接部5密封,所述密封连接部同时用于牢固地和永久地结合玻璃片1、1'。
在其边缘密封独立的玻璃片1和1'的粘合性密封材料包含环氧树脂。
如图6所示,密封连接部具有给定的宽度L,并且在其宽度上由多个开口81至84中断,每个开口限定侧向连接部末端71至74'。
更准确地说,密封连接部7在其宽度上由面对玻璃制品的第一边缘的两个开口81至82和面对与第一边缘相反的第二边缘的其它两个开口83、84中断,这些边缘对应于玻璃板优选通过压延的组装的方向的边缘。
对于每个开口,附加密封材料7'在连接部的相邻侧向末端之间形成桥接部,特别包括所述密封材料,因此形成材料的连续性,如图6bis所示。
在初始状态(“关”状态),也就是说在电压施加之前,该液晶玻璃制品100是半透明的,也就是说其允许光学传输但不是透明的。一旦电流接通,液晶层在交变电场的作用下变为透明状态,也就是说其中观察不再被防止的状态。
具有液晶的电可控玻璃制品通过使用详细描述如下的方法制造。
在用于连续涂覆的工业设施中,通过采用磁场增强的反应溅射方法,根据本发明的浮法玻璃片在连续的溅射腔内用具有近乎100nm厚度的ITO层涂覆。
两个相同大小且具有希望尺寸的独立玻璃片由以这种方法涂覆的大玻璃片切割而成,并且为连续处理作准备。
然后,切成希望尺寸的两个独立玻璃片首先经受清洗操作。
混合有间隔件的液晶层然后施加到以这种方式处理的两个玻璃片其中之一上。
由于两个独立玻璃片接下来通过密封连接部在其边缘永久且紧密地彼此连接,所以玻璃片1的边缘部分在约2mm至10mm的宽度上未被涂覆。
用液晶化合物的涂覆借助于被称为逐滴填充的操作实施。为了实施该操作,逐滴倾倒设备被使用,其使得将液晶滴沉积到玻璃基板上成为可能,倾倒的量是精细可调的。
在所述方法的另一实施方式中,为了印刷液晶层,具有网孔的丝网印刷织物被使用,所述网孔的宽度为约20μm至50μm并且其丝线直径为约30μm至50μm。
在液晶层沉积之前或之后,形成连接部7的粘合性层被直接沿着玻璃片24的边缘以相同方式施加。所述连接部例如可以具有从2mm至10mm的宽度。
如图7所示,多个开口81至84在密封连接部中的形成被提供,所述开口具有适于移除多余液晶层的大小和分布,开口81至84各自限定连接部7的两个相邻侧向末端71至74'。
此外,为了做到这一点,密封材料的施加是不连续的,或者是连续的然后接着(通过移除材料7)制造开口。
在此之后施加附加密封材料7',所述附加密封材料形成在连接部的侧向末端71至74'之间的桥接部,优选包括所述密封材料,因此形成密封材料的连续性。
当两个独立的玻璃片因此被按压在彼此上时,粘合性层7被压缩至液晶层的厚度E。
开口81至84因此用来:
-移除多余的液晶层,因此更好地控制层厚度并因此避免光学质量的损失,
-给液晶层除气,以便避免气泡后续形成在层中,因此再次避免光学质量的损失。
至少两个开口优选定位在压延的前边缘上,至少两个开口优选定位在压延的后边缘上。
侧向末端的宽度例如是10mm。液晶层越粘稠,使用的开口数量越多。
接下来实施压延操作,或作为改型,实施按压操作。
如果液晶层包括液晶和单体的混合物,则通过用UV光照射实施聚合操作。
Claims (15)
1.一种具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),具有:
-第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片(1、2),其通过特别由给定的密封材料制成的密封连接部(7)在其内表面(11、12)的边缘上被密封,
-第一电极和第二电极(3、4),其在第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片的内表面上,呈透明导电层的形式且设置有电源,
-以及液晶层(5),其在所述第一电极和所述第二电极上,通过施加交变电场而在透明状态和半透明状态之间可逆交替,液晶层(5)具有包含端点在内的15μm与60μm之间的平均厚度E并且加入间隔件(6),
其特征在于,第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片中的每一个的厚度A小于或等于5.5mm,
并且在于,涂覆有所述第一电极和所述第二电极的内表面中的每一个具有小于12E/15的以毫屈光度表述的屈光缺陷分值,其中液晶的厚度E以μm表述。
2.根据权利要求1所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),其特征在于,
-对于小于30μm的厚度E而言,第一平坦浮法玻璃片(1)和第二平坦浮法玻璃片(2)的厚度A在包含端点在内的3mm和5.5mm之间,
或者
-对于大于或等于30μm的厚度E而言,第一平坦浮法玻璃片(1)和第二平坦浮法玻璃片(2)的厚度A在包含端点在内的2mm和5.5mm之间。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),其特征在于,所述密封连接部(7)具有给定的宽度L并且在其宽度上由多个开口(81至84)中断,每个所述开口限定特别分开至少5mm的侧向连接部末端(71至74'),并且对于每个开口,附加密封材料(7')形成在连接部的侧向末端之间的桥接部,特别包括所述密封材料,因此形成材料的连续性。
4.根据权利要求3所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),其特征在于,所述密封连接部(7)在其宽度上由面对玻璃制品的第一边缘的至少两个开口(81至82)和面对与所述第一边缘相反的第二边缘的至少两个其它开口(83至84)中断。
5.根据权利要求1或2所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),其特征在于,所述密封连接部(7)和/或附加密封材料(7')为实质上有机的。
6.根据权利要求5所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100),其特征在于,所述密封连接部(7)和/或附加密封材料(7')为环氧树脂。
7.根据权利要求1至5中任一项所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100)的用途,用作车辆或建筑中的玻璃制品。
8.用于制造根据权利要求3至6中任一项所述的具有通过液晶实现的可变散射性的复层玻璃制品(100)的方法,包括以下步骤:
-形成密封连接部(7),包括在设置有所述第一电极(3)的第一平坦浮法玻璃片(1)上施加密封材料,
-将具有平均厚度E的液晶层(5)液体沉积在设置有所述第一电极(3)的第一平坦浮法玻璃片(1)上并且可选地沉积在设置有所述第二电极的第二平坦浮法玻璃片(20)上,
-在形成密封连接部和沉积液晶层之后,将第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片(1、2)带至接触,
其特征在于,所述方法包括,在将第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片带至接触之前,形成所述密封连接部的多个所述开口(81至84),每个所述开口限定连接部(7)的侧向末端(71至74’)。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于,所述密封连接部(7)在其宽度上由面对玻璃制品的第一边缘的至少两个开口(81至82)和面对与所述第一边缘相反的第二边缘的至少两个其它开口(83至84)中断,所述第一边缘和所述第二边缘对应于在压延方向上的边缘。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片(1、2)的组装通过压延实施。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,第一平坦浮法玻璃片和第二平坦浮法玻璃片的组装特别通过按压实施,所述密封连接部(7)在其宽度上由面对玻璃制品的与所述第一边缘相邻的第三边缘的至少两个开口(81至82)和面对与第三边缘相反的第四边缘的至少两个其它开口(83至84)中断。
12.根据权利要求8至11中任一项所述的方法,其特征在于,包括施加附加密封材料(7'),形成在连接部的侧向末端(71至74')之间的桥接部。
13.根据权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于,所述附加密封材料(7')包括所述密封材料,因此形成材料连续性。
14.根据权利要求13所述的的方法,其特征在于,所述附加密封材料(7')为实质上有机的密封材料。
15.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述附加密封材料(7')包括环氧树脂。
