Abstract
本发明是有关于一种光互连模块和系统,该光互连模块包括:外壳,形成侧壁和侧壁内的空腔;光纤互连部,形成于模块的侧壁中并具有多光纤连接器;光纤连接器站,形成于光纤互连模块的侧壁中并具有多个光纤连接器;空腔内的光通路和多光纤连接器与设置在光纤连接器站内的多个光纤连接器之间的光通路通过设置于空腔中的光纤完成光学互连形成光纤对;光纤对选路到各连接器站,光纤对与至少两条光通路通过利用光纤接线方案以下述方式进行光学互连:光纤接线方案用于将光纤从多光纤连接器选路到光纤连接器站的光纤连接器,至少80%的光纤对与从多光纤连接器中彼此不紧邻的光通路中选出的光通路光学互连。

本申请是申请日2003年9月23日、申请号03821911.5的专利申请的分案申请。
技术领域
本发明涉及一种光纤互连模块,例如用于局域网(LAN)的互连模块。
背景技术
普通的光缆是由传导光线的光纤构成的,用于传输语音、视频和数据信息。光纤带是由一带状公共层包覆的一组光纤构成。该公共层可以是紫外(UV)光固化型的。通常,该带状公共层随着一组按照平面阵列排列并且分别着色的光纤挤出,然后采用紫外光源照射使该带状公共层固化。经过固化的带状公共层对光纤起到保护作用并且将每根光纤对正并固定在平面阵列中对应的位置上。光纤带可以连接到多纤连接器,例如,MTP连接器。MTP连接器可以应用于局域网设备中,例如,数据中心和服务器之间的并行光导缆互联。
本发明是针对局域网环境中使用MTP连接器的光纤互连提出的技术方案。现有的组网解决方案采用点对点系统进行配置,例如采用12芯MTP连接器组件。光纤极性根据系统中一给定光纤的由发送到接收的功能来确定。光纤极性的问题是通过在光纤进入环氧插头中的MTP连接器之前在组件的一端将光纤进行交叉,或者通过“A”和“B”型分线模块来处理,其中,光纤在“B”模块中被交叉,而“A”模块中保持平直。
MTP组件用于互连结构时可能会产生系统问题。MTP组件互连后光纤极性在系统外又回到原状。图1所示为现有的模块“A”,其具有按以下方式配对的六个光纤对:1-2、3-4、5-6、7-8、9-10和11-12。所有的光纤对中的光纤在光纤带中都设置为相互紧邻。紧邻的光纤对在模块A中被引向多纤或单纤连接器13,1紧邻2、3紧邻4,如此延续。模块A应用于一采用“A”和“B”型模块方案的系统中,在该系统中,模块“B”中的光纤根据模块A进行交叉以便解决或者说是纠正光纤的极性问题。现有的MTP连接器是的连接方式是键向上与键向下相互配对连接。
按照本发明提出的光纤顺序对模块进行接线的构思是在试图解决采用“A”和“B”模块方法或接入连接器交叉光纤的过程中存在的安装时易混淆、复杂性和存储问题的过程中产生的。按照本发明对模块进行接线就不再需要使用“A”和“B”模块方案,本发明的模块在系统中是通用的。
发明内容
本发明的技术内容如下:提出一种光纤互连模块,具有:一外壳,形成侧壁和侧壁内用来容纳和支撑光纤以及连接器的空腔;一光纤互连部,形成于上述模块的一例壁中,上述光纤互连部具有一多纤连接器,其中形成有多条光通路,这些光通路排列为一平面阵列,与至少一条其他光通路紧邻,以便与光纤带中的光纤对齐;一光纤连接器站,形成于上述模块的一侧壁中,其具有多个光纤连接器;上述光通路和上述光纤连接器通过设置于上述空腔中的光纤实现光学互连,光纤对由光纤形成,其中至少一个光纤对被选路到与所述光通路进行光通信的对应连接器站,该光纤对与至少两条所述光通路光学互连,所述两条光通路选自彼此不紧邻的光通路。根据本发明的另一方面,提出一种光纤组件,其包括至少两个光学互连模块;上述模块之间通过光通路及光纤带实现光学互连,所述光通路通过连接器和在与该连接器上相同位置上具有定位键的适配器建立;上述连接器和适配器上相同的相对位置上有定位键与其耦合;并且位于上述模块外部的光纤的极性没有被反转。

具体实施方式
本发明的一实施例是一种用于连接到MTP或者MPO光纤连接器的光纤带(例如,具有12根光纤的光纤带)的光纤组网模块。图2所示为本发明一示例性模块60。模块60与光纤带20光学连接,该光纤带20可以是由12根不同颜色的光纤21-32阵列构成。
模块60包含一外壳,由侧壁61和侧壁内形成的空腔62构成,空腔62用来容纳和支撑光纤和连接器。
模块60还包含一光纤互连部,该光纤互连部具有光纤连接器。该连接器为优选MTP或MPO连接器40。连接器40为环氧抛光兼容多芯连接器,例如,康宁光缆系统公司生产的‘LANScape(注册商标)系列中的部分型号。环氧抛光连接器是一种能够实现小空间大密度的12芯连接器,其内包含多条光通路,该些光通路通常按平面阵列排列。这些光通路紧邻至少另一条光通路,与光纤带中的光纤光学对正。该MTP连接器为多模或单模设备而设计,并采用推/拉设计以便于插拔。MTP连接器可以与现有的SC型连接器具有相同的大小尺寸,但是却能够提供高出12倍的光纤密度,非常有利于降低成本和节省空间。MTP连接器包含一个用来定向以便与任何所需的光纤适配器耦合的键。光纤连接器适配器41(参见图3-4)可以设置于模块外部的连接器与模块内部的连接器之间。也可以使用其他的连接方案。优选使用光纤带扇开工具来处理来自模块内部连接器与连接器站之间的光纤。
请参阅图2所示,为一示例性光纤接线方案,用于将光纤从连接器20选路到位于连接器站51-56的单纤或多纤连接器,连接器站51-56设定在模块60的分支部50。每个连接器站51-56包括一个或者多个连接器。在模块中,一种示例性选路方案如下:1号光纤(蓝色)与12号光纤(浅绿色)配对;2号光纤(橙色)与11号光纤(玫瑰红色)配对;3号光纤(绿色)与10号光纤(紫色)配对,依此类推,最后剩下的光纤编号/颜色的光纤对为6号光纤(白色)与7号光纤(红色)。请参阅图2所示,光纤对定义如下:21-32、22-31、23-30、24-29、25-28、26-27。选路到各连接器站51-56的光纤对中至少有一对,但更好的是至少有80%的光纤对是由光纤带20中非相邻的光纤组成的。换句话说,位于连接器站51-56的光纤连接器和连接器40的光通路通过设置于模块60的空腔62中的光纤完成光学互连的,这些光纤组成光纤对。至少其中一个光纤对与连接器40中对应的光通路进行光通信,并被选路到对应的连接器站,从光通路中选定的两条光通路是彼此不紧邻的两条光通路。优选的是上述80%的光纤对能够与彼此不紧邻的光通路互连。
使用本发明的模块,可以在网络中部署组件之间的互连,例如在局域网中。对于多跨度的组件也可以完成互连。为了极性校正而在MTP连接器一端紧前的母线组件中的光纤交叉是不必要的,从而使其复杂性/成本的降低。最后,在模块中通用的束线使网络中不再需要两种不同类型分支模块。由一个或多个MTP或MPO母线组件和一个(通用的)装于一模块中或自身使用的分支束线组成。例如,两个MPO连接器经由一个MPO适配器匹配,每个MPO的定位键位于相同的相对位置,即,键向上(key up)或键向下(keydown)。图3和图4分别所示为示例性系统80、90,该系统应用根据本发明的模块60,主要包括配有相关适配器41的MTP或MPO连接器40和光纤带20。所有在连接器站50的双芯连接器和MPO连接器40在相同位置与键41a连接,即,所有键41a向上或所有键41a向下。在系统80、90中,极性没有反转,1到12号光纤在模块之间没有交叉。换句话说,在适配器或模块之间的其他位置上光通路没有交叉。例如,从一个模块到包括模块60外部的连接器40在内的另一个模块,光通路仍保持其标色,即蓝色仍与蓝色在一起(1-1),橙色与橙色仍然在一起(2-2),绿色与绿色仍然在一起(3-3),如此等等。
为了在缆线系统中实现反转光纤带定位,可以采用以下步骤:
a)为给定的光纤带中的每根光纤分配一序号,如上所述。
b)如图3中所示,按如下安装MPO连接器:
1)在缆线的一端,将光纤带按光纤从左到右的顺序号装入连接器(例如,1,2,3,4……12),且键向上(key up)
2)在缆线的另一端,将光纤带按光纤从左到右的逆序号装入连接器(例如,12,11,10,9……1),且键向上(key up)
将带状缆线转接到多双工系统,完成反转光纤对定位。这种转接可以通过转接模块或转接组件(如图3-4所示)实现,具有MPO连接到双芯连接器或者双工单芯连接器。如果使用转接组件,光纤在连接器中的定位方式与在对应模块中的方式相同。
以上所述,仅是本发明的较佳实施例而已,并非对本发明作任何形式上的限制,虽然本发明已以较佳实施例揭露如上,然而并非用以限定本发明,任何熟悉本专业的技术人员,在不脱离本发明技术方案范围内,当可利用上述揭示的结构及技术内容作出些许的更动或修饰为等同变化的等效实施例,但是凡是未脱离本发明技术方案的内容,依据本发明的技术实质对以上实施例所作的任何简单修改、等同变化与修饰,均仍属于本发明技术方案的范围内。
Claims (8)
1.一种光纤互连模块,其特征在于其包括:
a)一外壳,形成侧壁和侧壁内用来容纳和支撑光纤以及连接器的空腔;
b)一光纤互连部,形成于上述模块的一侧壁中,上述光纤互连部具有一多光纤连接器,其中所述多光纤连接器形成有多条光通路,所述多光纤连接器的这些光通路排列为一基本上平面的阵列,其中所述光通路与至少一条其他光通路紧邻,使得第一光通路紧邻第二光通路,第二光通路紧邻第三光通路,第三光通路紧邻第四光通路,第四光通路紧邻第五光通路,第五光通路紧邻第六光通路,第六光通路紧邻第七光通路,第七光通路紧邻第八光通路,第八光通路紧邻第九光通路,第九光通路紧邻第十光通路,第十光通路紧邻第十一光通路,第十一光通路紧邻第十二光通路,以便将能与所述光纤互连模块的所述多光纤连接器连接的光纤光学对齐;
c)一光纤连接器站,形成于上述光纤互连模块的一侧壁中,光纤连接器站具有多个光纤连接器,多个光纤连接器附接到在所述光纤互连模块的空腔内所容纳和支撑的并且在所述多光纤连接器和所述光纤连接器站之间扇开的光纤;
d)所述空腔内的光通路和在所述多光纤连接器与设置在所述光纤连接器站内的所述多个光纤连接器之间的光通路通过设置于所述空腔中的光纤完成光学互连作为由光纤形成的光纤对;所述光纤对选路到各连接器站,所述连接器站与所述多光纤连接器的所述光通路进行光通信;所述光纤对与至少两条所述光通路通过利用光纤接线方案以下述方式进行光学互连:所述光纤接线方案用于将所述光纤从所述多光纤连接器选路到位于形成在所述光纤互连模块的输出部分的所述光纤连接器站的所述光纤连接器,至少80%的光纤对与从所述多光纤连接器中彼此不紧邻的光通路中选出的光通路光学互连。
2.根据权利要求1所述的光互连模块,其中所述多光纤连接器是MTP连接器或MPO连接器。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的光互连模块,其中所述光纤是不同颜色的光纤。
4.根据权利要求3所述的光互连模块,其中所述光纤接线方案具有六个光纤对,所述六个光纤对以下述方式标色和配对:蓝色第一光纤与浅绿色第十二光纤配对;橙色第二光纤与玫瑰红色第十一光纤;绿色第三光纤与紫色第十光纤配对,棕色第四光纤与黄色第九光纤配对,蓝灰色第五光纤与黑色第八光纤配对,白色第六光纤与红色第七光纤配对。
5.用于将光纤从多光纤连接器选路到位于形成在模块的输出部分的光纤连接器站的多个光纤连接器的光纤接线方案,多光纤连接器的光通路和所述光纤连接器站处的所述多个光纤连接器的光通路通过设置于模块的空腔中的光纤完成光学互连,且由光纤形成多个光纤对;所述光纤对与多光纤连接器内的各光通路以及所述光纤连接器站处的所述多个光纤连接器的各光通路进行光通信;其中
所述多个光纤对以下述方式进行光学互连:至少80%的光纤对与从所述多光纤连接器中彼此不紧邻的光通路中选出的光通路光学互连,从而所述多个光纤对控制传送以接收光纤极性从而不需要不同的模块。
6.根据权利要求5所述的光纤接线方案,其中所述多光纤连接器是MTP连接器或MPO连接器。
7.根据权利要求5或6所述的光纤接线方案,其中所述光纤是不同颜色的光纤。
8.根据权利要求7所述的光纤接线方案,具有六个光纤对,所述六个光纤对以下述方式标色和配对:蓝色第一光纤与浅绿色第十二光纤配对;橙色第二光纤与玫瑰红色第十一光纤;绿色第三光纤与紫色第十光纤配对,棕色第四光纤与黄色第九光纤配对,蓝灰色第五光纤与黑色第八光纤配对,白色第六光纤与红色第七光纤配对。
