Abstract

Description
背景技术
磁盘驱动器通常包括多个磁盘,其中在顶部磁盘表面和底部磁盘表面中的每一个上驱动磁头。每个磁头连接到驱动臂的远端,音圈电机(VCM)使驱动臂绕着枢轴旋转以在磁盘上方径向地定位磁头。磁盘包括多个径向间隔的同心磁道,用于记录用户数据扇区和伺服扇区。伺服扇区包括磁头定位信息(例如磁道地址),其由磁头读取并且由伺服控制系统处理以控制驱动臂从磁道到磁道寻道时的速度。

在图1A的实施例中,每个磁盘表面(例如磁盘表面41)包括由多个嵌入伺服扇区221-22n限定的多个磁道20。随着磁头21经过伺服扇区,控制电路18将预放大后的读取信号10解调为位置误差信号(PES)。PES被适当的补偿滤波器滤波以产生施加到音圈电机(VCM)26的控制信号24。VCM26使驱动臂28绕着枢轴旋转,以在降低PES的方向上在磁盘41上方径向地定位磁头21。
在一个实施例中,耦合到第一集成电路8A的读取/写入信号(包括预放大后的读取信号10和第一写入信号12)以及在第一集成电路8A和第二集成电路8B之间的传递信号(包括传递读取信号16和传递写入信号14)包括差分信号,其中差分信号可以由任何合适的差分传输线承载。

在图2A和图2B的实施例中,第一集成电路8A不同于第二集成电路8B仅仅在于第一集成电路8A可以包括以上描述的传递放大器。在替换实施例中,第一集成电路8A可以与第二集成电路8B基本相同,两个集成电路均可以包括传递放大器,其中集成电路之一(或者更多)被配置为传递集成电路。由此方式,可以使用相同的工艺制造集成电路8A和8B,并且按照期望级联和配置。
图3A示出预放大器的实施例,其中对于第一集成电路8A和第二集成电路8B,写入电路基本相同。每个集成电路包括寻址电路42A和42B,用于产生施加到放大器32A1-32An和32B1-32Bn的使能信号44A和44B,以及施加到放大器30A和30B以及放大器34A和34B的使能信号。寻址电路42A和42B基于以上描述的哪个磁头被选择用于写入操作来配置使能信号。在一个实施例中,基于耦合到每个集成电路的磁头配置寻址电路42A和42B。在图3A的示例中,第二集成电路8B耦合到磁头1到n,第一集成电路8A连接到磁头n+1到m,并且寻址电路42A和42B相应地配置。在一个实施例中,响应于每个集成电路8A和8B的外部管脚46A和46B配置寻址电路42A和42B。在图3A的实施例中,第一集成电路8A的寻址电路42A被配置为通过将外部管脚46A接地来寻址磁头n+1到m,并且第二集成电路42B的寻址电路42B被配置为通过使外部管脚46B开路来寻址磁头1到n。
图3B示出预放大器的实施例,其中对于第一集成电路8A和第二集成电路8B,读取电路基本相同。寻址电路42A和42B产生施加到所选择的放大器36A1-36An以及36B1-36Bn中的一个的使能信号48A和48B,产生施加到传递放大器40A和40B的使能信号,以及产生用于针对所选择的磁头选择放大器36A1-36An和36B1-36Bn中的一个的输出的选择信号。
可以采用任何合适的控制电路来实现本发明的实施例,例如任何合适的集成电路或者电路。例如,控制电路可以被实现在读取通道集成电路内,或者实现在与读取通道分离的部件中,例如磁盘控制器,或者可以由读取通道执行以上描述的某些步骤并且由磁盘控制器执行其它步骤。在一个实施例中,读取通道和磁盘控制器被实现为分离的集成电路,在替代实施例中,它们被制造到单个集成电路中或者片上系统(SOC)中。
在一个实施例中,控制电路包括执行指令的微处理器,指令可操作来使微处理器实现本发明的实施例。指令可以存储在任何计算机可读介质中。在一个实施例中,它们可以存储在微处理器外部的非易失性半导体存储器中,或者与微处理器集成在SOC中的非易失性半导体存储器中。在另一实施例中,指令存储在磁盘上并且当磁盘驱动器加电时被读到易失性半导体存储器中。在又一实施例中,控制电路包括适当的逻辑电路,诸如状态机电路。
Claims (25)
1.一种磁盘驱动器,其特征在于它包括:
多个磁盘表面和多个对应的磁头;
预放大器,其包括:
第一集成电路,其耦合到第一组多个所述磁头,所述第一集成电路包括:
用于输出预放大后的读取信号的第一读取-输出;
用于接收第一写入信号的第一写入-输入;
用于响应于所述第一写入信号而输出传递写入信号的写入-输出-传递;以及
用于接收传递读取信号的读取-输入-传递;以及
第二集成电路,其耦合到第二组多个所述磁头,所述第二集成电路包括:
用于输出所述传递读取信号的第二读取-输出;以及
用于接收所述传递写入信号的第二写入-输入;以及
控制电路,其可操作来:
配置所述预放大器以在读取操作期间选择所述多个磁头中的一个,以及配置所述预放大器以在写入操作期间选择所述多个磁头中的一个;
在所述读取操作期间处理所述第一集成电路的读取-输出处的预放大后的读取信号;以及
在写入操作期间将所述第一写入信号施加到所述第一集成电路的写入-输入。
2.根据权利要求1所述的磁盘驱动器,其中:
所述控制电路可操作来产生施加到所述预放大器的第一和第二集成电路两者的至少一个控制信号;以及
所述控制信号可操作来配置所述预放大器以在所述读取和写入操作期间选择所述磁头中的一个。
3.根据权利要求2所述的磁盘驱动器,其中施加到所述第一和第二集成电路两者的控制信号是线或的。
4.根据权利要求1所述的磁盘驱动器,其中所述第一集成电路包括用于响应于所述第一写入信号而产生所述传递写入信号的放大器。
5.根据权利要求4所述的磁盘驱动器,其中所述控制电路还可操作来当在所述写入操作期间选择连接到所述第二集成电路的磁头时使能所述放大器。
6.根据权利要求1所述的磁盘驱动器,其中所述第一集成电路包括用于响应于所述传递读取信号而产生预放大后的读取信号的放大器。
7.根据权利要求6所述的磁盘驱动器,其中所述控制电路还可操作来当在所述读取操作期间选择连接到所述第二集成电路的磁头时使能所述放大器。
8.根据权利要求1所述的磁盘驱动器,其中所述第一集成电路与所述第二集成电路基本相同。
9.一种用于磁盘驱动器的预放大器,所述磁盘驱动器包括多个磁盘表面和多个对应的磁头,所述预放大器,其特征在于它包括:
第一集成电路,其耦合到第一组多个所述磁头,所述第一集成电路包括:
用于输出预放大后的读取信号的第一读取-输出;
用于接收第一写入信号的第一写入-输入;
用于响应于所述第一写入信号而输出传递写入信号的写入-输出-传递;以及
用于接收传递读取信号的读取-输入-传递;以及
第二集成电路,其耦合到第二组多个所述磁头,其中所述第二集成电路包括:
用于输出所述传递读取信号的第二读取-输出;以及
用于接收所述传递写入信号的第二写入-输入;
其中所述预放大器可配置为在读取操作期间选择所述多个磁头中的一个,以及所述预放大器可配置为在写入操作期间选择所述多个磁头中的一个。
10.根据权利要求9所述的预放大器,其中所述第一集成电路包括用于响应于所述第一写入信号而产生所述传递写入信号的放大器。
11.根据权利要求10所述的预放大器,其中当在所述写入操作期间连接到所述第二集成电路的磁头被选择时,使能所述放大器。
12.根据权利要求9所述的预放大器,其中所述第一集成电路包括用于响应于所述传递读取信号而产生预放大后的读取信号的放大器。
13.根据权利要求12所述的预放大器,其中当在所述读取操作期间连接到所述第二集成电路的磁头被选择时,使能所述放大器。
14.根据权利要求9所述的预放大器,其中所述第一集成电路与所述第二集成电路基本相同。
15.根据权利要求14所述的预放大器,其中:
所述第一集成电路包括用于寻址第一组多个所述磁头的第一寻址电路;以及
所述第二集成电路包括用于寻址第二组多个所述磁头的第二寻址电路。
16.根据权利要求15所述的预放大器,其中:
所述第一寻址电路响应于所述第一集成电路的第一外部管脚;以及
所述第二寻址电路响应于所述第二集成电路的第二外部管脚。
17.根据权利要求16所述的预放大器,其中所述第一和第二外部管脚中的至少之一被接地。
18.一种操作磁盘驱动器的方法,所述磁盘驱动器,其特征在于它包括多个磁盘表面,多个对应的磁头,以及预放大器,所述预放大器包括:

配置所述预放大器以在写入操作期间选择所述多个磁头中的一个;
在所述读取操作期间处理所述第一集成电路的读取-输出处的预放大后的读取信号;以及
在所述写入操作期间将所述第一写入信号施加到所述第一集成电路的写入-输入。
19.根据权利要求18所述的方法,还包括产生施加到所述预放大器的第一和第二集成电路两者的至少一个控制信号,其中所述控制信号可操作来配置所述预放大器以在所述读取和写入操作期间选择所述磁头中的一个。
20.根据权利要求19所述的方法,其中施加到所述第一和第二集成电路的控制信号是线或的。
21.根据权利要求18所述的方法,其中所述第一集成电路包括用于响应于所述第一写入信号而产生所述传递写入信号的放大器。
