技术领域
本发明涉及一种用于等离子体显示面板的驱动器,更具体地讲,涉及一种可通过在寻址期和维持期设定不同的通路来执行电力传输(powertransmission)的用于等离子体显示面板的驱动器。
背景技术
通常,等离子体显示面板包括多个单元室,每个单元室包括前面板、后面板以及设置在前面板与后面板之间的隔壁。用诸如氖(Ne)或氦(He)的主放电气体和包含少量氙(Xe)的惰性气体来填充每个单元室。多个单元放电室可形成单个像素。
这种等离子体显示面板的一帧被划分成多个子场。按照这样的方式单独地驱动子场,即,每个子场由重置期、寻址期和维持期组成,在重置期将整个屏幕初始化,在寻址期选择放电室,在维持期维持所选择的放电室的放电。
在上述维持期中,执行电力传输。然而,因为维持期是重置期、寻址期和维持期中最短的时间段,所以当显示施加有大负荷的屏幕(例如白屏)时难以供应足够量的电力,还难以将足够量的电力供应到大的显示装置。
发明内容
本发明的一方面提供了一种在寻址期和维持期设定不同的通路来执行电力传输的用于等离子体显示面板的驱动器。

电力转换单元可包括:第一电力开关和第二电力开关,彼此串联连接在输入电力的两个输入端之间,并交替地切换输入电力;变压器,具有初级绕组和次级绕组,初级绕组接收通过第一电力开关和第二电力开关切换的电力,次级绕组相对于初级绕组形成匝数比,变压器根据所述匝数比转换被切换的电力的电压电平。

参照图1,根据该实施例的等离子体显示面板驱动器100可包括电力供应部件(power supply part)110、驱动部件120和通路设定部件130。
电力供应部件110将商业AC(交流)电力转换成具有预定电压电平的驱动电力(driving power),并将驱动电力供应到驱动部件120。为此,电力供应部件110可包括切换并转换电力的电力转换单元113。电力供应部件110还可包括整流/平滑单元111和功率因数校正单元112,整流/平滑单元111对商业AC电力进行整流和平滑,功率因数校正单元112校正被整流和平滑的电力的功率因数,从而将DC(直流)电力提供到电力转换单元113。
电力转换单元113可包括半桥式第一电力开关(power switch)R、半桥式第二电力开关F和变压器T。第一电力开关R和第二电力开关F在功率因数校正单元112的DC电力VPFC的输入端之间彼此串联连接,并交替地切换DC电力VPFC。变压器T转换通过第一电力开关R和第二电力开关F切换的电力的电压电平。

通常,显示装置上显示的一个屏幕由30或60帧组成。在屏幕上显示的每一帧具有多个子场。每个子场由重置期、寻址期和维持期组成,在重置期将等离子体显示面板的放电初始化,在寻址期选择将要放电的等离子体显示面板,在维持期维持所选择的等离子体显示面板的放电。
各个子场可具有不同的维持期,所述不同的维持期可以需要不同的电力电平。因为在特定的维持期中电力会不足,所以需要设定具有另外的电力的电力传输通路。
因此,根据该实施例的驱动器100可包括通路设定部件130。
上述通路设定部件130可包括第一开关单元131、整流单元132和第二开关单元133。
第一开关单元131可包括彼此串联连接的第一开关131a和第二开关131b。整流单元132可包括彼此串联连接的第一二极管132a和第二二极管132b。
第一开关单元131可以与变压器T的次级绕组Ns的一端以及第一X电极开关Xs和第二X电极开关Xg的连接节点串联电连接。第一开关单元131的第一开关131a和第二开关131b中的每个开关包括体二极管。第一开关131a的体二极管的阳极可以连接到第二开关131b的体二极管,而第一开关131a的体二极管的阴极可连接到整流单元132。第二开关131b的体二极管的阳极可以连接到第一开关131a的体二极管的阳极。第二开关131b的体二极管的阴极可连接到第一X电极开关Xs和第二X电极开关Xg的连接节点。

第二开关单元133可以电连接在第一Y电极开关Ys和第二Y电极开关Yg的连接节点与等离子体显示面板的Y电极之间。第二开关单元133的体二极管的阳极可以连接到等离子体显示面板的Y电极,而第二开关单元133的体二极管的阴极可以连接到第一Y电极开关Ys和第二Y电极开关Yg的连接节点。

参照图2A,根据该实施例的驱动器100可以在维持期向等离子体显示面板Cp提供电力,从而使等离子体显示面板Cp放电。
也就是说,当电力转换单元113的第一电力开关R导通,电力转换单元113的第二电力开关F截止,驱动部件120的第一Y电极开关Ys、第二Y电极开关Yg、第一X电极开关Xs和第二X电极开关Xg截止时,第二开关单元133和第一开关单元131的第二开关131b闭合,而第一开关131a断开,使得从电力转换单元113传输的驱动电力可被供应到等离子体显示面板Cp,如图2A中的标号①所示。

另一方面,如图2B中的标号②′所示,当第一电力开关R截止,第二电力开关F导通,第一Y电极开关Ys、第二Y电极开关Yg、第一X电极开关Xs和第二X电极开关Xg截止时,第一开关单元131的第一开关131a和第二开关131b以及第二开关单元133断开,而整流单元132的第一二极管132a和第二二极管132b闭合,使得来自电力转换单元113的驱动电力可被传输到电容器Vs,如图2B中的标号②所示。
如上所述,根据本发明的示例性实施例,因为设定了不同的通路使得在寻址期和维持期期间可单独地传输电力,所以在显示施加有大负荷的屏幕(例如白屏)时能够供应足够量的电力,或者还能够将足够量的电力供应到大的显示装置。

Claims (12)

1.一种用于等离子体显示面板的驱动器,所述驱动器驱动形成单个帧的多个子场,所述单个帧显示在屏幕上,所述多个子场中的每个子场包括重置期、寻址期和维持期,在重置期将等离子体显示面板的放电初始化,在寻址期选择将要放电的等离子体显示面板,在维持期维持所选择的等离子体显示面板的放电,所述驱动器包括:
电力供应部件,将商业交流电力转换成预定的驱动电力;
驱动部件,在维持期切换来自电力供应部件的驱动电力,从而将被切换的驱动电力供应到等离子体显示面板;
通路设定部件,设定在维持期将来自电力供应部件的驱动电力传输到驱动部件的通路,并设定在寻址期用来自电力供应部件的驱动电力对电容器进行充电的充电通路。
2.如权利要求1所述的驱动器,其中,电力供应部件包括电力转换单元,电力转换单元接收并切换电力,以将电力转换成所述驱动电力。
3.如权利要求2所述的驱动器,其中,电力转换单元包括:
第一电力开关和第二电力开关,彼此串联连接在输入电力的两个输入端之间,并交替地切换输入电力;
变压器,具有初级绕组和次级绕组,初级绕组接收通过第一电力开关和第二电力开关切换的电力,次级绕组相对于初级绕组形成匝数比,变压器根据所述匝数比转换被切换的电力的电压电平。
4.如权利要求3所述的驱动器,其中,驱动部件包括一对Y电极开关和与所述一对Y电极开关并联连接的一对X电极开关,所述一对Y电极开关具有彼此串联连接的第一Y电极开关和第二Y电极开关,所述一对X电极开关具有彼此串联连接的第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关,
第一Y电极开关和第二Y电极开关的连接节点连接到变压器的次级绕组的一端和等离子体显示面板的一端,第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关的连接节点连接到次级绕组的另一端和等离子体显示面板的另一端。
5.如权利要求4所述的驱动器,其中,通路设定部件包括:
第一开关单元,电连接到变压器的次级绕组的所述另一端以及第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关的连接节点;
第二开关单元,电连接到第一Y电极开关和第二Y电极开关的连接节点以及等离子体显示面板的所述一端;
整流单元,与变压器的次级绕组的所述另一端和第一开关单元并联连接。
6.如权利要求5所述的驱动器,其中,第一开关单元包括彼此串联连接的第一开关和第二开关,
整流单元包括彼此串联连接的第一二极管和第二二极管,第一二极管和第二二极管的连接节点电连接到变压器的次级绕组的所述另一端。
7.如权利要求6所述的驱动器,其中,在维持期中,当第一电力开关导通,第二电力开关截止,第一Y电极开关、第二Y电极开关、第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关截止时,第一开关单元的第二开关和第二开关单元闭合,而第一开关断开,使得来自电力转换单元的驱动电力被供应到等离子体显示面板,
当第一电力开关和第二电力开关截止,第一Y电极开关和第二X电极开关导通,第二Y电极开关和第一X电极开关截止时,第二开关单元闭合,而第一开关单元的第一开关和第二开关断开,使得充在所述电容器中的电力向变压器的传输被阻断。
8.如权利要求6所述的驱动器,其中,在寻址期中,当第一电力开关导通,第二电力开关截止,第一Y电极开关、第二Y电极开关、第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关截止时,第一开关单元的第一开关和第二开关以及第二开关单元断开,而整流单元的第一二极管和第二二极管闭合,使得来自电力转换单元的驱动电力被传输到所述电容器,
当第一电力开关截止,第二电力开关导通,第一Y电极开关、第二Y电极开关、第一X电极开关和第二X电极开关截止时,第一开关单元的第一开关和第二开关以及第二开关单元断开,而整流单元的第一二极管和第二二极管闭合,使得来自电力转换单元的驱动电力被传输到所述电容器。
9.如权利要求3所述的驱动器,其中,电力供应部件包括预定的电感,
由于电力供应部件的电感和等离子体显示面板的电容之间的谐振,使得为驱动等离子体显示面板而消耗之后剩余的电力被传输到电力供应部件。
10.如权利要求2所述的驱动器,其中,电力转换单元执行与驱动部件的切换操作联动的切换操作。
11.如权利要求2所述的驱动器,其中,电力供应部件还包括:
整流/平滑单元,对商业交流电力进行整流和平滑;
功率因数校正单元,校正来自整流/平滑单元的电力的功率因数,从而将直流电力供应到电力转换单元。
12.如权利要求9所述的驱动器,其中,所述电感是变压器的漏电感、串联电连接在初级绕组和输入电力的所述两个输入端之间的电感器元件的电感,或者变压器的漏电感和所述电感器元件的电感的复合电感。
