Description
本发明涉及用于处理在使用中受到弯折(flexing)的产品(item)以降低其在使用过程中随时间对水渗透的易受性的方法,以及涉及被这样处理的产品。
等离子体沉积技术已经非常广泛地用于在一定范围的表面上(特别是在织物表面上)沉积聚合物涂层。该技术被认为是与常规湿化学方法相比产生很少废物的清洁的干技术。使用该方法,由经受电场的有机分子产生等离子体。当该方法是在基材存在的情况下进行时,该等离子体中的化合物的基团聚合在该基材上。
常规聚合物合成容易产生包含具有与该单体组分非常类似的重复单元的结构,而使用等离子体产生的聚合物网络能够非常复杂。所得到的涂层的性质能够取决于该基材的性质以及所用单体的性质及其沉积的条件。
WO2007/083124中描述了等离子体聚合技术在处理一定范围的时装附件(包括鞋)中以保护特别是精细织物不受油或水的损害以及使产品(例如鞋)基本防水的应用。
本发明人现在已经发现通过使用等离子体增强技术,不仅能够实现高度的防水保护,而且显著增强了该产品在使用中防水渗透的耐久性。
因此,本发明提供了用于处理在使用中受到弯折的产品以降低其在使用过程中随时间对水渗透的易受性的方法,所述方法包括在产品表面上形成防水涂层或表面改性。
该防水涂层可以通过电离或活化技术(例如等离子处理)形成。
该防水涂层可以通过其他方法涂覆,例如通过浸渍或衬垫涂覆(padapplied)。该防水涂层可以包括含氟聚合物,例如聚四氟乙烯(PTEE)。可替代地,该防水涂层可以包括烃或硅基涂饰(finish)。实例包括Dupont制造的TeflonTM和Ciba制造的OleophobolTM。
借助本发明,提供了用于提高产品在使用中弯折过程中抗水渗透的耐久性的方法。这在例如在每天的使用过程中受到相当大的弯曲应变的鞋类产品(例如鞋,特别是运动鞋,例如跑鞋或训练鞋)的情况下是特别有利的。
鞋类产品例如鞋的鞋面(upper)典型地包括缝合部,用于连接该鞋面的不同组件部分或用作装饰部件。由于美学原因,该缝合部通常提供在该鞋的前部,以及大部分的缝合部容易位于该鞋类产品的弯折位置处。在使用过程中,该鞋类产品的弯折导致由该缝合部产生的针孔扭曲及其尺寸的增大。本发明的方法提供了防水涂层,其对由于弯折而使得该鞋面的针孔扭曲或尺寸增大是具有耐久性的。
本发明的方法为鞋类产品或构造鞋面提供了防水涂层,同时使该鞋类产品或构造鞋面保持透气。
通过处理整个鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面,导致防水性的提高。进一步,对整个鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面的处理确保了对具有孔(例如针孔和接缝(seam))的该鞋面的区域的处理。这些是在弯折过程中受到应力的区域。
然而该方法可以适宜地用于其他在使用中受到弯折以及在使用中需要高度防水保护以及对于抗水渗透具有耐久性的产品。适合的产品包括例如帐篷、遮阳篷(awning)、雨伞和睡袋。
依照本发明的方法对该产品的抗水渗透的耐久性的提高具有以下优点:其能够使用较廉价的产品而不会损害所达到的防水保护的程度和耐久性。在运动鞋的情况中,例如依照本发明的方法处理该鞋避免了对用于引入物理屏障(例如膜)的复杂制造技术的需求,并意味着能够使用更廉价的鞋。
在一种实施方案中,该产品包括鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面。因此,可以处理整个鞋类产品,例如整个鞋。可替代地,可以处理构造鞋面,例如鞋的构造鞋面,然后将其结合到鞋底上以形成鞋类产品。该鞋类产品或构造鞋面可以进一步包括鞋带(lace)。
在一种实施方案中,所用的该电离或活化技术是等离子体处理,特别是等离子体沉积。
因此,依照一种实施方案,本发明的方法包括将该产品暴露于气态的等离子体中足够的时间段以在该产品表面上产生保护层。
术语“保护层”表示层,特别是聚合物层,其提供对液体损害的一些保护,特别是防液体的(例如防油或防水的)保护。保护该产品避免其损害的液体来源包括环境液体,例如水,特别是雨水,以及其他可能意外洒落的油或液体。
可以适宜地使用任何经过等离子体聚合以在该产品表面上形成防水聚合物涂层的单体化合物或气体。可以使用的适合的单体包括现有技术中已知能够通过等离子体聚合在基材上产生防水聚合物涂层的那些,包括例如具有反应活性官能团的碳质化合物,特别是基本上以-CF3占主导的全氟化合物(参见WO97/38801)、全氟化烯烃(Wang等,Chem Mater1996,2212-2214)、任选包含卤素原子的含氢不饱和化合物或至少10个碳原子的全卤代有机化合物(参见WO98/58117)、包含两个双键的有机化合物(WO99/64662)、具有任选取代的至少5个碳原子的及任选地插入杂原子的烷基链的饱和有机化合物(WO00/05000)、任选取代的炔(WO00/20130)、聚醚取代烯烃(US6482531B)和包含至少一个杂原子的大环(US6329024B),此处通过参考将所有这些的内容引入。

适宜地,本发明的方法中所用的炔化合物包括碳原子链,包括一个或多个碳碳三键。该链可以任选地插入杂原子,且可以具有包括环和其他官能团的取代基。适合的链可以是直链或支链,具有2~50个碳原子,更适宜地6~18个碳原子。它们可以作为原料存在于所用的单体中,或者可以一旦施加等离子体就例如通过开环在单体中产生。
特别适合的单体有机化合物是式(VIII)的那些:

等离子体聚合以有效方式发生的精确条件将根据一些因素例如该聚合物的性质、处理的产品等而改变,并将使用本领域已知的常规方法确定。
适用于本发明的方法中的等离子体包括非平衡等离子体,例如由射频(RF)、微波或直流电(DC)产生的那些。其可以如本领域中已知的那样在大气压或低于大气压下操作。然而特别地,其是由射频(RF)产生的。
可以使用各种形式的装置来产生气态等离子体。通常其包括在其中可以产生等离子体的容器或等离子体腔室。这种装置的特别实例例如描述于WO2005/089961和WO02/28548中,但很多其他常规等离子体产生装置也可以。
在该方法中,通常而言,将待处理的基材和一种或多种单体一起放入等离子体腔室内,该单体能够产生目标聚合物质,在基本气态的条件下,在该腔室内激发辉光放电,并施加适合的电压,该电压优选可以是脉冲的。
此处所用的术语“在基本气态条件下”表示单独或混合的气体或蒸汽,以及气溶胶。
该等离子体腔室内存在的气体可以仅包括单体化合物的蒸汽,但其可以与载气相结合,特别是惰性气体例如氦气或氩气。特别地,如果需要载气,氦气是优选的载体,因为这样能使单体的断裂最小化。
当用作混合物时,适宜地依照本领域常规的程序确定该单体蒸汽与载气的相对量。单体的添加量将在一定程度上取决于所用特定单体的性质、基材的性质、等离子体腔室的尺寸等。通常,在常规腔室的情况下,单体的释放量为50~1000mg/分钟,例如速率为10~150mg/分钟。然而将认识到该速率将非常取决于所选择的反应器尺寸以及需要立即处理的基材的数量;这又取决于例如所需的年生产量和资本支出的考虑。
载气(例如氦气)适宜地以恒定速率加入,例如以5~90标准立方厘米/分钟(sccm)的速率,例如15~30sccm。在一些情况中,单体和载气之比将在100∶0~1∶100范围内,例如在10∶0~1∶100范围内,特别为约1∶0~1∶10。选择的精确比将使得确保达到该方法所需的流速。
在一些情况下,可以将预先连续功率的等离子体在该腔室内冲击例如15秒~10分钟。这可以用作表面预处理或活化步骤,确保该单体本身容易附着(attach)到该表面上,以使得随着聚合的发生,沉积物在该表面上“生长”。该预处理步骤可以在将单体引入该腔室中之前在仅存在惰性气体的情况下进行。
然后至少在该单体存在时,将该等离子体适宜地切换为脉冲等离子体以进行聚合。
在所有情况中,适宜地通过施加高频电压(例如13.56MHz)激发辉光放电。这是使用电极施加的,其可以在该腔室内部或外部,这通常分别用于大的和小的腔室。
适宜地,以至少1标准立方厘米/分钟(sccm)且优选在1~100sccm范围内的速率供给该气体、蒸汽或气体混合物。
在单体蒸汽的情况中,适宜地以80~1000mg/分钟供给,同时施加连续的或脉冲的电压。然而对于工业规模的应用,具有固定单体总释放量可能是更适合的,该单体总释放量将根据限定的工艺时间而改变,且还取决于单体的性质和所需要的技术效果。
可以使用任意常规方法将气体或蒸汽释放到该等离子体腔室中。例如,可以将其抽吸、注射或泵送到该等离子体区域中。特别地,当使用等离子体腔室的情况下,可以作为通过使用排气泵造成的腔室内压力降低的结果将气体或蒸汽抽吸到该腔室内。可替代地,可以将其泵送、喷雾、滴落、静电电离或注射到腔室内或通过任何其他已知的用于将液体或蒸汽输送到腔室内的方法输送。
适宜地使用式(I)化合物的蒸汽实现聚合,其保持在0.1~400毫托的压力下。
施加的电场适宜地为5~500W的功率,适宜地为约10~200W峰值功率,作为连续或脉冲场施加。如果需要脉冲,其可以以产生非常低的平均功率的顺序施加,例如以其中接通时间∶断开时间(time on∶time off)的比率在1∶500~1∶1500范围内的顺序。这种顺序的特别实例是其中通电20~50μs(例如约30μs)然后断电1000μs~30000μs(例如约20000μs)的顺序。这样得到的典型的平均功率为0.01W。
处理一批鞋所需的总RF功率适宜地施加30秒~90分钟,优选1分钟~10分钟,这取决于式(I)的化合物的性质和在该批次中增强的产品的类型和数量。
适宜地,所用的等离子体腔室的体积足够容纳例如帐篷和睡袋的产品。
WO2005/089961中描述了特别适合的用于依照本发明处理产品的装置和方法,其内容由此通过参考引入。
特别的,当使用这种类型的高容量腔室时,用作为脉冲场的电压产生等离子体,以0.001~500W/m3的平均功率,例如以0.001~100W/m3的平均功率,适宜地以0.005~0.5W/m3的平均功率。
这些条件特别适用于在大腔室中3)沉积良好质量的均匀涂层,所述大腔室例如在其中该等离子体区域具有大于500cm3、例如0.1m3或更大、例如0.5m3-10m3、适宜地为约1m3的容积的腔室。这样形成的层具有良好的机械强度。
该腔室的尺寸将选择以容纳所处理的特定产品。例如,通常圆柱形腔室可以适用于广泛的应用,但如果需要,可以构造细长形或矩形腔室,或者实际立方体形或任何其他适合形状。
该腔室可以是可密封的容器,以允许批量处理,或者其可以包括用于产品的入口和出口,以使其用于半连续工艺。特别地在后一种情况中,使用高容量泵保持在该腔室内产生等离子体放电所需的压力条件,如例如在具有“哨声泄露(whistling leak)”的装置中常见的那样。然而还将可以在大气压下或接近大气压下处理鞋类产品,不需要“哨声泄露”。
施加的电场适宜地为20~500W的功率,适宜地为约100W的峰值功率,作为脉冲场施加。该脉冲可以以产生非常低的平均功率的顺序施加,例如以其中接通时间∶断开时间的比率在1∶3~1∶1500范围内的顺序,这取决于所用的单体气体的性质。尽管对于难于聚合的单体,接通时间∶断开时间的范围可以在该范围的较低端,例如1∶3~1∶5,但很多聚合能够在1∶500~1∶1500的接通时间∶断开时间范围进行。这种顺序的特别实例是其中通电20~50μs(例如约30μs)然后断电1000μs~30000μs(例如约20000μs)的顺序。这样得到的典型的平均功率为0.01W。

现在将通过实施例特别描述本发明。
实施例
将四对高尔夫球鞋放置在具有~300升的处理容积的等离子体腔室中。将该腔室通过质量流量控制器和/或液体质量流量计和混合注射器或适合的单体储罐(monomer reservoir)连接到所需气体和或蒸汽的供给装置。
在让氦气以20sccm进入该腔室中直至达到80毫托的压力之前将该腔室抽空到3~10毫托基础压力。然后使用RF在13.56MHz在300W冲击连续功率等离子体4分钟。
在该期间,将式为
的1H,1H,2H,2H-十七氟癸基丙烯酸酯(CAS#27905-45-9)以120毫克/分钟的速率引入该腔室中,并将该等离子体切换为峰值功率为100W的以30微秒接通时间和20毫秒断开时间的脉冲等离子体40分钟。当完成该40分钟时,将该等离子体电源连同该处理气体和蒸汽一起关闭,将该腔室再次抽空到基础压力。然后将该腔室排空到大气压,并取出鞋。
依照标准测试方法,测试其在拉伸弯曲(以20mm浸没深度50000次弯折)之后对抗水渗透的耐久性。将该结果与未经处理的相同鞋进行比较。
从图1中呈现的数据中能够看到,在大多数情况中,经处理的鞋在水渗透发生之前的弯折数显著高于未经处理的鞋。在该图中,A柱显示了对于依照上述方法处理的有膜的(membrane)接缝密封的防水皮鞋(无阴影的)与未经处理的鞋(阴影的)相比的结果。B、C和D柱显示了对于没有膜的缝合密封的防水皮鞋(B)、仅防水皮鞋(即没有膜或缝合密封)(C)和非防水皮鞋(D)和相应未经处理的对照物得到的数据。在所有情况中,经过处理的鞋对水渗透的耐久性超过了工业标准需要,而所有未经处理的鞋(包括包含膜的那些)都呈现出不合格的对抗水渗透的耐久性。
Claims (16)
1.用于处理在使用中受到弯折的鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面以降低其在使用过程中随时间对水渗透的易受性的方法,所述方法包括在该鞋类产品或构造鞋面的表面上形成防水涂层或表面改性。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中该防水涂层或表面改性是由电离或活化技术形成的。
3.权利要求1或2的方法,其中该鞋类产品或构造鞋面进一步包括鞋带。
4.权利要求1~3中任意一项的方法,其中该鞋类产品或构造鞋面是运动鞋或运动鞋的构造鞋面。
5.前述任意权利要求的方法,其中该电离或活化技术是等离子体处理。
6.权利要求4的方法,其中该等离子体处理使用等离子体,该等离子体包括经过等离子体聚合以形成防水聚合物的单体化合物,和该鞋类产品或构造鞋面暴露足够的时间段以使在其表面上形成聚合物层。
7.权利要求5或6的方法,其中该鞋类产品或构造鞋面暴露于等离子体沉积腔室中的脉冲等离子体。
9.权利要求8的方法,其中该式(I)的化合物是式(II)的化合物:

其中R5是如权利要求8所定义的或式(III)的化合物:

其中n和R5是如权利要求8所定义的,和R7是氢、C1-10烷基或C1-10卤代烷基。
11.权利要求8的方法,其中该式(IV)的化合物是1H,1H,2H,2H-十七氟癸基丙烯酸酯。
12.前述任意一项权利要求的方法,其中将该待处理的鞋类产品或构造鞋面与一种或多种单体一起放置在等离子体腔室内,该单体能够产生基本上为气态的目标聚合物质,在该腔室内激发辉光放电并施加适合的脉冲电压。
13.权利要求12的方法,其中以如下顺序施加脉冲,其中接通时间:断开时间的比率是在1∶500~1∶1500范围内。
14.等离子体聚合沉积方法用于降低鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面在使用过程中随时间对水渗透的易受性的用途。
15.经过等离子体聚合以形成防水聚合物的单体化合物用于降低鞋类产品或鞋类产品的构造鞋面在使用过程中随时间对水渗透的易受性的用途。
16.经过权利要求1~13中任一项的方法处理的鞋或构造鞋面。
