Description

本发明涉及基本上不向周围散发可见烟雾的香烟制品。具体地说,本发明是一种不需燃烧烟草即可使人得到吸烟感觉的香烟制品。更详细地说,本发明是这样一种香烟制品,它利用一个多孔陶瓷材料做的不燃套管,来装入载热源和加香料烟雾释放材料。
人们曾经提出许多办法,企图生产不同于传统烟草制品的、能产生供人吸用的烟雾或蒸汽的香烟制品。例如,西格尔的2907686号美国专利提出的一种香烟制品包括一节炭棒、一节浸透香料的单独载体和一节合成“烟雾”形成剂。燃烧的炭棒加热烟雾形成剂。炭棒表面涂一层浓缩糖浆,以便在燃烧时形成一个不透气层。发明者认为,这个不透气层可将吸烟时产生的气体封在里面,并将产生的热量集中。
艾利斯等人的3258015号美国专利提出了另一香烟制品,通过燃烧一种传统香烟形状的烟草来加热一个装有尼古丁源的金属筒,这种尼古丁源可以是重新构成的烟草或烟草浸膏。吸烟时金属筒内的物质释放出的蒸汽与通过筒的开口端吸入、流向此香烟制品燃烧端的空气混合。艾利斯等人的3356094号美国专利提出另一类似的香烟制品,其筒在加热时变脆,这样在周围的烟草烧完时它也断裂,而不会仍然伸着。
已公开的赫恩等人的0177355号欧洲专利申请中提出了一种香烟制品,它通过加热,而不是燃烧一种香味发生物来产生一种含尼古丁的烟雾。这种气味发生物可以用矾土、天然粘土等底质材料或烟草填料制造。气味发生物用热释放香料浸渍,香料包括尼古丁、甘油、薄荷脑等。气味发生物的加热是由热解烟草或其它碳质材料制成的燃料棒燃烧产生的热气体进行的。
巴纳基等人的4714082号美国专利是赫恩等人的专利的一种演变,它使用主节短燃料棒。据说该专利通过增大燃料棒与烟雾发生物之间的热传导而使其性能得以提高。其方法是用绝热材料防止热损耗,用金属导体增大燃料与香味发生物之间的热传导。它用一种玻璃纤维绝缘套套在燃料棒和烟雾发生物外面。
巴纳基等人的发明有许多缺点。首先,弹性玻璃纤维绝缘套在现代的大量生产机器上很难处理。其次,玻璃纤维可能在装运时脱落,在包内移动,落到香烟制品嘴含的那一端,使吸烟者可能把玻璃纤维吸入口中。此外,由于金属热导体本身会将燃料棒产生的热量吸收很多,使用金属热导体的效率可能不高。
理想的是提供这样一种香烟制品,它的加香烟雾释放材料由空气流过碳质热源和热源辐射形成的热气体有效地加热。

本发明的目的是为了克服上述缺点而提供一种新颖的香烟制品,它不需要直接燃烧烟草即可使吸烟者得到吸烟的感觉,而且不向周围散发可见的烟雾。

下面将参照附图对本发明作详细描述。
图1~6和图14所示是本发明香烟制品的一个推荐的实施例。香烟制品10包括一个活性段11、一个间隔管12和一个口含段13,外裹卷烟纸14。下面将详细讨论,活性段11有一个不燃的圆柱形空心陶瓷套管22、碳质热源20和一个香料段21,香料段与流过热源的热气体接触时释放出加香烟雾。烟雾穿过膨胀管12来到口含段13,然后进入吸烟者的口内。
碳质热源20是在纯炭内添一些催化剂或燃烧添加剂。碳质热源20最好用木炭制做,中间做成一条或几条纵向通道。纵向通道的断面最好是多角星形,星角要窄而长。碳质热源20的孔隙应大于50%,炭粒之间的孔隙尺寸约为1~2微米。碳质热源20的重量约为81mg/10mm,密度约为0.2g/cc至1.5g/cc。碳质热源20内炭粒之间的表面积约在50m2/g至2000m2/g之间。
香料段21可包括任何能在与热气体接触时释放出所要求的香味和其它化合物的材料。在一种香烟制品中,香味和其它化合物可以是烟草和烟草产生的化合物,也可以是其它需要的香味。因此,香料段21适用的材料可包括烟草填料或沉积有所需的化合物的惰性物质。在一种推荐的实施例中,香料段21是一种丸状烟草填充层。烟草丸最好是用粒度约为20至400目(最好150目)的粒状烟草材料、烟雾母体(如甘油、1,3丁二醇或丙二醇等能在烟草粒中广泛扩散的物质)和细填料(如碳酸钙或氧化铝,以提高热负荷来防止热气体使烟草丸的温度提高超过其热解温度)在挤压机内混合而成。这些材料混合成混合料,从一个有许多孔的模具内挤出,成为面条状的直径相同的材料。挤压的料条切成小段,最好长度均匀。料丸最好尺寸均匀。混合料各种成份的比例约为:烟草材料15%到95%,烟雾母体5%至35%,填料0%至50%。
如果有充足的氧气,热源20燃烧时主要产生二氧化碳。如以下所述,活性段11的套管22是不燃的,在香烟制品10吸用时不会燃烧。而且, 香烟制品10从结构上使通过香料段21的气体含氧量降低,使香料段21的组份即使在温度高到在其它情况下可以燃烧地步也只能热,而不燃烧。当吸用香烟制品10时,基本上周围没有烟雾。
现在谈谈香烟制品10的结构细节,活性段11装在一个不燃的圆柱形中空陶瓷套管22内,套管有外壁23和内壁24。然而,套管22最好配一个或更多的金属卡箍17,用这种卡箍将碳质热源20固定在悬空状态,使其离开套管22的内壁24,形成一个环形间隙25。卡箍17上可以有孔18,使卡箍17更有柔性,更易于装配活性段11。卡箍17的宽度应足以使热源20能够牢靠地固定在位置上。卡箍17和热源20之间的接触面积足够大,以便热源20烧到卡箍17时会自动熄灭。因此,热源20不会点燃香烟制品10的其余的部分。
香料段21在套管22内的位置,一面是卡箍17和热源20,另一面是一个多孔的或筛状挡网26,该挡网将添味块21的料丸保持在应在的位置上,而又能让热蒸汽进入膨胀管12。图5中示出了一种优选的多孔挡网26。膨胀管12可使香烟制品10有普通香烟的长度,即普通香烟的外观。
卷烟纸14将活性段11与膨胀管12结合在一起。卷烟纸14最好是那种经过处理、将热降解减到最低限度的纸,如氧化镁卷烟纸或其它耐火型的卷烟纸。卷烟纸14最好有足够的孔隙,让空气能够穿透卷烟纸14和套管22,维持热源20助燃烧。卷烟纸14也可以在热源20外的套管22范围穿孔,如用激光穿孔。
最好用圆盘27将活性段11靠近口含端的一端封闭,只留一个孔28,让热蒸汽通过。热蒸汽通过孔28后在膨胀管12内膨胀。气体在膨胀管内膨胀使饱和蒸汽冷却,成为烟雾,将口含段13或口含段13的两个分段29、30上的冷凝作用降到最小,这样会增加吸烟者吸到的烟雾量。膨胀的程度,因而是冷却的程度,可以通过改变孔28的直径和膨胀管12的容积来控制。
口含段13可以是一个空管或加一节过滤段29,口含段13最好包括一个过滤段29和一个烟丝条段30。过滤段29是乙酸纤维素滤嘴201,外裹滤嘴纸202。烟丝条段30是烟草填料203,外包滤嘴纸208,它除了进一步冷却烟雾和略起过滤作用外,还能再增添一些烟草味。烟丝条段30内的烟草填料最好按照标准每英寸切30刀,也可以粗些尽可能减少过滤作用。例如,烟草填料可以按每英寸约切15刀。过滤段13的两个分段29、30用滤嘴纸204卷在一起,整个的过滤段13用卷端纸205卷在香烟制品10的其余部分上。
再谈活性段11的结构,在图2~6内的实施例中有环形间隙25,以便有足够的空气流到热源20,让热源20能持续燃烧,也可使传到外面的热量降到最少。由于同一原因,套管22用多孔陶瓷材料制成,最好其孔隙率至少为40%。多孔陶瓷套管在邻近热源20处可以是透气的,让空气进入,使热源20能持续燃烧。卷烟纸14应有足够的孔隙率,以便使空气能够穿透纸14和套管22来使热源20持续燃烧。活性段11内的空气流是穿过热源20内的流体通道206和周围的空间25并通过孔18进入香料段21的。
最好热源20与空气流接触的表面积尽可能大些,尽量增大对香料段21的对流热传导,使燃烧尽可能完全。由于同一原因,流体通道206不是简单的圆柱形。而且,热源20内的流体通道206有多角形横截面,如各图中所示的八角星形横截面。事实上,推荐的实施例中流体通道206的表面积大于热源20的外表面积。
套管22用陶瓷材料,最好用多孔陶瓷材料制造。套管22可以使用传统的陶瓷加工方法制造,但这种方法须修正到能够使陶瓷套管22得到要求的性能。所用的陶瓷材料是不燃的。所用的陶瓷材料应该是便宜、轻质和多孔的,并在制成套管22后仍具有足够的强度,以便在能经受住破坏荷载和现代化大量生产的机器上高速装配时所加的其它外力。这些性能关系到具体使用的陶瓷材料,其孔隙率、密度和孔隙尺寸。因此在加工后,陶瓷套管22的密度大约应在1.1g/cc到2.0g/cc之间,孔隙率约在40%至60%之间。使用的陶瓷材料粒度约在0.5微米到100微米之间。陶瓷套管的密度最好为大约1.3g/cc,孔隙率最好约为50%,所用的陶瓷材料粒度约为35微米。任何具有上述综合性能的陶瓷材料皆可使用,只要套管有足够的强度,能够在现代化大量生产的机器上装配香烟制品时经受住遇到的冲击和力,而不发生过多的断裂。一种推荐的陶瓷材料是堇青石,这是一种含镁、铝和硅的陶瓷材料。除堇青石外,其它适用的陶瓷材 料还有富铝红柱石、氧化铝和氧化锆。
最后,如图1~3所示,活性段11上可以加一个反射金属端盖15,它卡在套管22的外壁23上,并用卷烟纸14盖住。端盖15有一个或多个孔16,使空气能进入活性段11。孔16最好分布在端盖15的周边上。在推荐的实施例中,有6个按相等角度分布的孔,每个孔的直径皆为0.080英寸。端盖15增大了辐射热反射回到活性段11中去的量,以助于维持热源20°的燃烧,并助于香料段21释放香味。端盖15还能保持住热源20,使其由于某种原因松弛后不会从香烟制品10上掉落下来。考虑热源20在各次吸烟之间的高温下阴燃,并且在吸用时甚至更热,这是很重要的。此外,端盖15留住在热源20燃烧时产生的全部烟灰。另外,端盖15也可以用多孔陶瓷材料制造,例如象套管22所用的陶瓷材料。
本发明建议,香烟制品10的外径为7.8mm,与传统香烟相同。碳质热源20的直径为4.6mm,长度为10mm,而活性段11的总长度为26mm。口含段13的长度为21mm,分为一节10mm长的乙酸纤维素段29和一节11mm长的烟草段30。间隔管12长度为32mm,这样香烟制品10的总长度为79mm,相当于传统长香烟的长度。
图7~13是另外几个实施例。在图7和图8内,香烟制品10的热源20由套管22内壁24的肋70固定在应在的位置上。肋70将碳质热源20保持在离开内壁24的悬空位置;形成一个环形间隙25。肋70由槽71隔开,使空气能流过。在图9和图10内,一个可使空气流过其波纹91的波纹纸带90将热源20固定在套管22内的位置。图11中,一个实心纸圈92将热源20保持在套管22内的位置上。纸圈最好在内表面上有一层金属箔,与热源20接触,以保护纸圈不受热源20产生的热的损坏。图12中的套管22内有两个金属卡箍17,使碳质热源20保持悬空,离开套管22的内壁24,留下环形间隙25。两个卡箍17都可以有孔18,让空气流过。图12内的实施例没有表示端盖15。图1~3所表示的或上面说明的端盖15在需要时可以加在这一实施例上。
图13是本发明的香烟制品的另一个实施例。图13内,一个纸管80将热源20固定在套管22内,它还固定香料段21。管80靠近热源20的一端向内弯曲,如图13所示,以便固定热源20。纸管80最后用一面或两面复铝箔或其它反射材料的纸制做。
如上所述,香烟制品10的结构是这样的,通过香料段21的气体的含氧量低,这样使香料段21的组份甚至在温度高到在其它情况下足以点燃时不会氧化或燃烧。在所有上述的实施例中,都有可能采取措施更进一步使空气不进入香料段21,并更进一步防止香料段21燃烧。例如,套管22的外壁23的香料段21的区域内包一层不透气的材料,如纸(图中未示)。或者,套管22的内壁24在香料段21的区域内可以衬一层不透气材料,如金属箔(图中未示)。
本发明的香烟制品的又一个实施例是在陶瓷套管22内插入一个与活性段11相似,但套在箔-纸夹层套管内的一个单独的活性段。
例1
香烟制品有一个14mm长的碳质热源20,热源的中心有一个八角星形的流体通道206。热源20悬空装在一个14mm长的陶瓷套管22内,套管的材料是堇青石,其密度为1.35g/cc,用一个轴向长度为3mm的实心纸圈92固定住热源。香料段21为100mg的烟草丸装在一个纸管内。香料段21和陶瓷套管22用纸连接在一起,然后与39mm的空心膨胀管12和15mm长的乙酸纤维素过滤段29连接在一起。在FTC状态下吸烟时(FTC吸烟状态是指2秒吸烟(35ml总容量),58秒阴燃),两根这种香烟制品平均产生4.7mg的湿的全颗粒物质。
例2
香烟制品有一个25mm长的陶瓷套管22,套管用堇青石制造,其密度为1.35g/cc。一个10mm长的碳质热源20用金属卡17悬空固定在套管22内。在向着口含端的套管一端,插入一个纸-箔管,纸-箔管内装有100mg的烟草丸,此管用两个穿孔铝卡箍26固定就位。此一活性段11插入一个夹持座中。在FTC吸烟状态下,每50根这种香烟制品平均产生8.2mg湿的全颗粒物质(标准偏差=0.21)和0.29mg尼古丁(标准偏差=0.14)。

Claims (31)

1、一种香烟制品,它有一个口含端和与口含端相对的外端,此香烟制品包括:
位于外端的活性段(11),它与口含端有流体连通并包含以下部分:
一个从所述的外端延伸至口含端的不燃绝缘体(22),
