技术领域
本发明涉及对水果和蔬菜进行包装的领域,特别地涉及受控气氛香蕉包装的设计。
背景技术
在贮存和运输香蕉的过程中,从收获开始,经过运输到达分销网络,最后直到香蕉被直接递交给消费者,有必要保证特定的贮存条件。
贮存条件的特征在于限定的温度、湿度以及香蕉周围的气体介质成分。如果贮存条件不能得到保证,则香蕉将不会以所需状态运抵消费者,甚至变质,所需状态例如为在产品的成熟度方面。特别地,在运输和贮存过程中,香蕉以绿色、未成熟状态成串地包装到箱子中。这些箱子被成堆地堆集并被放入大的运输集装箱中。在装载和运输过程中,保持56-59°F的温度。在这样的温度下,香蕉能够长时间地贮存。
为了开始成熟过程,温度必须增加到60-62°F,且必须通过向香蕉周围的气体成分中添加乙烯来改变气体成分。乙烯和增加的温度的结合有助于开始成熟过程。
随后,当香蕉被送达分销网络时,它们不应过快地成熟,不应变质,应当保持良好的销售状态,并且买方应当能够看到香蕉。这样的要求导致对创造特殊包装的需求,该包装既提供被包装香蕉周围气体介质成分的变化,又能保持它们的销售状态。
一些本领域中已知的发明涉及香蕉的运输和贮存,它们解决了上述包装、运输和贮存的任务。
在2001年6月13日公开的EPO已公开申请EP 752378,“Controlled atmosphere package for fruit and packaging method”(用于水果的受控气氛包装以及包装方法)中,描述了一种用于水果,特别是用于香蕉的包装,它包括不少于一个密封袋,其内放置有至少一个未成熟的水果;该袋子由聚合物膜材料制成,其厚度为20-50μm,并填充有调节过的气氛。该聚合物材料可为低密度聚乙烯、聚乙烯、高密度聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯以及其它材料。已调节过的气氛包括2-20%的氧气(体积含量)、6-13%的二氧化碳(体积含量),0.1-1.5%的乙烯(体积含量),其余为氮气。
在2000年1月11日公布的De Moor的美国专利6,013,293,“Packing respiring biological materials with atmospherecontrol member”(具有气氛控制部件的包装呼吸生物材料)中,描述了一种能够保证水果和蔬菜贮存中所需气体成分的包装,以及其它呼吸生物材料。一种构成包装的一部分的选择性透气薄膜,以低于其它气体的速率,尤其是低于二氧化碳和乙烯的速率引导氧气。在香蕉贮存中,利用这样的薄膜据说能够保证香蕉成熟的最佳条件。
在2003年4月15日公布的Clarke等人的美国专利6,548,132,“Packaging biological materials”(包装生物材料)中,描述了一种包装,它包括密封容器、呼吸生物材料以及位于容器之内的气体介质。该容器的壁对于氧气和二氧化碳而言是相对不可透过的,并在容器之内安装有气氛控制元件。该控制元件包括一透气膜,该透气膜由呈聚合物基体形式的、具有不透气微孔网状结构的微多孔薄膜以及涂敷在该薄膜上的聚合物涂层组成。该包装据说能够保证在容器内产生有利于贮存呼吸生物材料的气体介质。
发明内容
本发明在此利用调节过的气体介质成分,为准备销售的香蕉提供长期贮存,该包装易于制造,便于使用,并能保证香蕉良好的包装因素。无论香蕉贮存在仓库、杂货店还是消费者的橱柜上,该包装均能提高香蕉的新鲜度。此外,在杂货店,这种包装能提供香蕉的陈列,从而顾客能够挑选它们。
用于香蕉的受控气氛包装包括具有气氛控制元件的容器。在使用中,香蕉,通常不少于两个香蕉被放置在容器之内。该容器具有壁和底部,容器的上部利用聚合物薄膜来密封。容器的其中一个壁配置成使得其具有朝外的凸出侧。气氛控制元件放置在容器中与该凸出壁相对的壁附近,并表现为容器底部的一个孔。一选择性透气膜固定到容器底部,使得一密封件利用所述透气膜覆盖在该孔上。香蕉被紧密放置在一起,它们的凸出侧朝向容器的凸出壁。
在此提出的包装能够在容器中成行地、相当密集地、无显著间隙地包装香蕉。由于该包装在与容器凸出侧相对的壁附近配备有气氛控制元件,该包装还在每个香蕉附近提供了必要的气体介质成分。
由于所述包装设计以及气氛控制元件在容器壁附近的定位,以固定位置位于壁附近的香蕉主体并不阻碍气氛控制元件,这是因为香蕉具有弯曲形状。覆盖在容器顶部上的聚合物薄膜在香蕉之间留下缝隙。通过这些缝隙,容器内的气体介质与气氛控制元件相接触,并与每个香蕉的表面相互作用。
为了实现包装的不可压缩性,容器的壁和底部可制成刚性的。容器的壁和/或底部还可制成透明的,以允许消费者看到香蕉。
容器壁的上部可配备有便于附着聚合物薄膜的凸缘,从而保证包装是密封的。
为了实现将多个包装方便地排列成堆,朝外的凸出区域可在容器底部的角部处形成。当包装被堆集时,包装的凸出区域在包装之间产生缝隙。这使得空气能够到达容器底部的气氛控制元件。
选择性透气膜可从内部附着到容器底部。在此情况下,为该膜提供了更好的保护。在贮存过程中,当多个包装排列成堆时,由于容器之间存在由所述凸出区域形成的缝隙,该膜的位置保证了外面空气自由进入该膜。
选择性透气膜可附着到容器底部,使得所形成的未附着到容器底部的膜部分的面积大于所述孔的面积。该膜也可沿其周边附着到容器底部,以使未附着到底部的膜的中部的面积大于所述孔的面积。
为了在包装内部提供所需气氛,该气氛通过氧气含量与CO2含量的比例来预先处理,根据容器的尺寸,与该气氛保持接触的透气膜部分的面积应为确定的。然而,使容器中孔的尺寸等于必要的膜面积往往是可行的,这是因为孔越大,则在包装过程中损坏膜的可能性也越大。因而,建议使孔的面积小于未附着到容器底部的膜部分的面积,这是因为在气体交换过程中,包装内部的压力小于大气压,膜的一个或多个未附着到底部的部分将被压向容器内部(以凹入方式),并将在气体交换过程中有效地工作。
容器底部,即设置有气氛控制元件孔的部位,可为凸出的。这种实施方式解决了以下问题:●损坏透气膜的风险减小,这是因为用于气氛控制元件的孔被提升到包装底部的平面之上;并且●不需要引入额外的凸出区域来保证空气进入该气氛控制元件的孔。
可将弯曲度大致相等的香蕉放置在容器内,以保证最高的包装因素。
如果需要将不同曲率的香蕉放置在容器内,则应将较小曲率的香蕉放置在凸出壁附近,其防止气氛控制元件被香蕉主体覆盖。
当将不同弯曲度的香蕉放置在容器内时,香蕉可按顺序排列,这意味着弯曲度随着香蕉与容器凸出壁之间距离的增加而增加。香蕉的这种布局也防止了气氛控制元件被香蕉主体覆盖。

具体实施方式
具有受控气氛的香蕉包装(图1-图3、图5)包括具有气氛控制元件2的容器1以及置于容器1内部的香蕉3。容器1具有带凸缘5的壁4以及底部6。装有香蕉3的容器1利用聚合物薄膜7从上方来封闭,该薄膜7密封地固定在凸缘5上。其中一个壁8具有朝外凸出的形状。气氛控制元件2被置于容器1的壁9附近,该壁9与凸出壁8相对。气氛控制元件2的形式为容器1的底部6中至少一个孔10,且选择性透气膜11被固定到底部6并密封地覆盖在孔10上。香蕉3被成行地放置,且它们的凸出侧朝向凸出壁8。
在容器1底部中可仅有一个孔10,也可有多个孔10(图6-图9)。这些孔可按不同的方式排列,比如呈直线或呈圆形排列,在图示例子中,成组的孔10被一张膜11覆盖是合理的。

膜11(图6和图7)被固定到底部6,以便密封住孔10。在此情况下,孔10的直径应当较小,以使膜11在包装过程中不被损坏。然而,为了保证包装内部介质与大气之间所需的气体交换速率(所述气体交换速率是通过与大气保持接触的膜11的相应表面来保证的),其面积应当大于孔10的总面积。这是通过膜11的相应附着来保证的。膜11的一部分13沿着周边(图6、图8)或在孔的周围(图7、图9)附着到容器1的底部6上,留下膜11的一部分14未被附着。

此外,聚合物薄膜7被密封地固定在容器1的壁4的凸缘5上。该薄膜防止大气进入被包装的香蕉,并最终实现组合包装的形成。
当香蕉被贮存在包装中时,大气穿过容器1底部6上的孔10,到达膜11的未附着部分14的外侧。通过膜11的透气部分14,通过包装1内部与外界大气的气体介质成分的浓度差,发生气体交换。在包装内部产生一种气氛,该气氛中的氧气含量低于大气中的氧气含量(大约2-4%),且二氧化碳含量高于大气中的二氧化碳含量(大约4-7%)。
在香蕉贮存的整个时期内(在仓库、杂货店、在柜台上陈列香蕉的过程中),由于气氛控制元件的存在,包装内部的氧气和二氧化碳的浓度得以保持,从而顾客能够观察它们,甚至在已购得的香蕉包装存放在顾客橱柜上的过程中也是如此,条件是只要它未曾被打开过。

Claims (15)
1.一种受控气氛包装,其包括具有气氛控制元件的容器,其中所述容器具有壁和底部,并通过聚合物薄膜从上方密封;其中,容器的其中一个壁具有向外凸出的形状,所述气氛控制元件包括一个或多个位于容器底部中的孔,并被设置在靠近与所述凸出壁相对的壁,选择性透气膜附着到容器的底部上,使得所述孔被所述膜的一部分密封地覆盖。
2.如权利要求1中所述的包装,其中,所述包装容纳有至少两个香蕉。
3.如权利要求2中所述的包装,其中,所述香蕉彼此靠近地放置在容器的壁附近,每个香蕉的凸出侧朝向成形为向外凸出的容器的壁。
4.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,所述容器的壁和底部是刚性的。
5.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,所述容器的壁是透明的。
6.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,所述容器的底部是透明的。
7.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,在容器的壁的上部具有凸缘,所述聚合物薄膜被密封地附着到所述凸缘上。
8.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,所述容器的底部的角部包括向外凸出的区域。
9.如权利要求3中所述的包装,其中,所述选择性透气膜从内部附着到所述容器的底部上。
10.如权利要求9中所述的包装,其中,所述膜附着到容器的底部上,使得存在未附着到容器底部的膜部分,这些部分的面积大于所述孔的面积。
11.如权利要求9中所述的包装,其中,所述选择性透气膜沿着膜的周边附着到容器的底部上,使得所述膜的中间部分未附着到容器的底部上,该部分的面积大于所述孔的面积。
