技术领域

背景技术
目前,用户可以从用户的住宅以外的公共地点或者酒店房间中的宽带位置远程访问在该用户的住宅处预订的网际协议电视(IPTV)服务。这一异地播放(place shifting)或者TV无处不在(TV anywhere)的概念类似于由当今可用的数字录像机(DVR)或者盒式录像机(VCR)提供的时间转变功能。然而,由于带宽限制,信号的视频质量较低。
目前,设备可以使用户能够通过利用连接因特网的膝上型计算机或者个人计算机(PC)从远程位置观看他的起居室电视节目安排。这些设备经由因特网将来自用户的分线盒、卫星接收器或者DVR的电视信号向PC异地播放。无论用户去往何处,低视频质量的TV都将伴随左右。由于用于现有解决方案的上行信道和编码器的带宽通常限于256Kbps,所以现有解决方案提供的视频质量较低。
因此,需要一种用于允许利用电话公司网络向用户提供高质量IPTV信号的异地播放的方法、计算机可读介质和系统。
发明内容
本发明利用电话网络将高质量的信号发送到远程PC或者膝上型计算机。远程PC中的数字权利管理(DRM)系统将与网络和家用机顶盒通信,以在内容可以传输到远程PC或者在远程PC上播放之前确认远程PC的身份。

19.根据权利要求17所述的系统,其中所述处理器在所述支持网际协议的远程设备中存储用户偏好集。
20.根据权利要求17所述的系统,其中所述宽带网络是电话公司网络。
