Description
技术领域
本发明涉及具有优异的燃料气体吸附性质的、基本为球形的高密度活性炭。此外,本发明涉及利用所述具有优异的燃料气体吸附性质的、基本为球形的高密度活性炭作为吸附剂的滤罐和进气过滤器。
背景技术
作为汽车燃料的汽油是高挥发性的。因此,在烈日下行驶和停放会造成燃料箱中汽油的汽化,以致汽油蒸气排放到空气中。此外,在加油过程中产生汽油蒸气。
因此,为了防止汽油蒸气排放到车外,为车辆提供滤罐,以使装在这种滤罐中的活性炭吸附剂吸附汽油蒸气。例如,为汽车内燃机提供能够吸附/解吸燃料蒸气的滤罐,以防止燃料蒸气排放到车外(这类蒸气从燃料箱中蒸发出来)。在这种情况下,滤罐暂时吸附在例如停车后产生的燃料蒸气,并在之后行驶过程中用新鲜空气解吸吸附的燃料组分,以用于在内燃机中燃烧处理。

发明内容

本发明人专注于活性炭的平均长度/平均直径(L/D)比率和基于体积的苯吸附率之差。然后,他们发现,当这些值处于特定范围内时,可以解决上述问题。由此得出了本发明。

平衡苯吸附率可以通过选自JIS K1474中所述的活性炭试验法的溶剂蒸气吸附容量试验法(描述在5.1.2中)测定。根据本发明,吸附剂可吸附的苯蒸气被称作被吸附物。术语“1/1苯蒸气”是指饱和苯溶剂的溶剂蒸气。术语“1/10苯蒸气”是指通过将饱和苯溶剂的溶剂蒸气和空气以1∶9的比率混合而得的溶剂蒸气。此外,平衡苯吸附容量代表了下述情况下的吸附剂质量增加率:在使苯溶剂蒸气通过吸附剂的同时,通过上述试验方法获得了含苯溶剂蒸气的吸附剂的恒定质量。也就是说,在这种情况下,实现了流入吸附剂的溶剂蒸气流与流出吸附剂的溶剂蒸气流之间的平衡。例如,当吸附剂的平衡苯吸附容量为50%时,吸附剂质量与溶剂蒸气通过之前获得的质量相比增加50%。
此外,为了改进吸附/解吸容量,活性炭优选在含有高浓度烃的环境中吸附/留存尽可能大量的烃。为此,上述1/1苯吸附率优选为20克/100毫升或更高(更优选25克/100毫升或更高),但其会随用途而变。
此外,优选地,活性炭具有一定强度,但该程度随用途而变。因此,本发明的活性炭具有优选90%或更高(特别优选95%或更高)的硬度(根据JIS K1474 5.5获得)。
本发明的活性炭可以通过已知方法的组合来制造。
图1是制造本发明活性炭的方法的一个实例的流程图。
本发明中所用活性炭的实例包括下列活化产物:由各种原材料(例如煤基、棕榈壳基、木质和木质素基原材料)制成的水蒸气活化产品;和通过用磷酸、氯化锌、碱金属等活化而得的化学活化产品。其中,木质磷酸活化的产品是优选的。上述粉状活性炭的粒度不受特定限制。但是,考虑到成型能力和成型碳的强度,其粒度通常为0.5毫米或更低,优选0.05至0.15毫米。特别优选地,60%至95%的粒子通过200筛目。此外,优选地,60%或更多的粒子通过100筛目,且50%或更少的粒子通过325筛目。进一步优选地,80%或更多的粒子通过100筛目,且40%或更少的粒子通过325筛目。更优选地,80%至90%的粒子通过100筛目,且20%至40%的粒子通过325筛目。
适用于本发明的活性炭的比表面积不受特定限制。但是,当其太小时,在一些情况下难以获得充足的吸附容量。当其太大时,在有些情况下难以获得充足强度。因此,比表面积需要为500至2500平方米/克,尤其是1000至2000平方米/克,更尤其是1500至2000平方米/克。
本发明的活性炭可以根据所用材料通过在已知碳化温度下的已知活化处理来制造。碳化温度条件可以为500℃至900℃。此外,通常在包含水蒸气、碳酸气体、氧等的活性气氛中进行活化处理。例如,在使用煤粉作为原材料的情况下,优选在700℃将煤粉碳化,然后在900℃在水蒸气气氛中将所得物活化。可以按照需要、以使得上述平均长度/平均直径(L/D)比率和基于体积的苯吸附率差异落在特定范围内的方式调节活化时间。
关于成型,可以如下获得本发明的活性炭:将粉状活性炭、粘土、用作固体储热介质的金属粉末和硼化合物和/或磷化合物掺合,并适当添加增塑剂,例如水,然后成型和煅烧。通常,可以使用掺合机,例如捏合机,在室温将上述原材料掺合,直至掺合的产物塑化并因此可以用手抓握。用于掺合的水量可以为可用手抓握掺合产物时的量。这种量相对于100重量份活性炭通常为50至200重量份,优选100至150重量份。然后,将掺合产物挤出,然后用成型机(例如压机)成型为所需形状,如圆柱形或球形。由此获得粒状碳。例如,通过挤出造粒法制造粒状碳,并将粒状碳按需要用适当的压碎机粉碎,然后造粒。此后,可以将所得产物加工成粒度在所需范围内的粉化粒状碳。然后,在不含氧的气氛中在通常400℃至1000℃、且优选500℃至900℃将所述粒状碳或粉化粒状碳煅烧,然后在700℃至1200℃且优选900℃至1000℃进行水蒸气活化或化学活化。相应地,获得了相关成型活性炭。
此外,可以在煅烧之前对粒状碳进行翻滚处理,以使该粒状碳表面变平滑并由此可提高堆密度。翻滚处理可以在通常大约30至300rpm、优选大约50至100rpm进行大约10分钟至10小时,优选大约30分钟至3小时。此外,在煅烧之前或之后,可以按需要进行洗涤处理或干燥处理。洗涤可以以活性炭吸附容量不受洗涤影响的方式进行。用去离子水、清洁水等进行洗涤,通常进行大约几十秒至几小时,优选大约10分钟至1小时,并根据需要加热。加热条件可以为30℃至100℃。干燥条件通常为50℃至200℃,优选大约100℃至150℃,持续通常大约30分钟至50小时,且优选大约1小时至10小时。
本发明的活性炭在用途上不受特定限制。但是,由于本发明的活性炭具有上述性质,其特别优选用作滤罐和进气过滤器的吸附剂。
下面参照实施例和对比例描述本发明。
实施例
[实施例1]
首先,将煤粉化,以使粒度变成100微米或更低(平均50微米或更低)。然后,将30重量份煤焦油添加到100重量份粉化的煤中,然后掺合。然后,将所得掺合产物在15MPa的压力挤成圆柱形,然后搅动处理。此后,将产物在还原气氛中在500℃干馏1小时,并在水蒸气气氛中在950℃活化处理5小时。由此,获得实施例1的活性炭。
在水蒸气气氛中搅动20分钟,以进行搅动处理。
[实施例2]
以与实施例1相同的方式获得实施例2的活性炭,不同的是搅动温度测得为60℃。
[对比例1]
以与实施例1相同的方式获得对比例1的活性炭,不同的是不进行搅动处理。
[对比例2]
以与实施例1相同的方式获得对比例2的活性炭,不同的是在标准大气压在60℃搅动20分钟以进行搅动处理。
[对比例3]
以与实施例1相同的方式获得对比例3的活性炭,不同的是将保持在60℃的挤出成型的碳置于水中,然后搅动20分钟以进行搅动处理。
[对比例4]
使用粒度3.0毫米的市售球形活性炭(Shanxi xuanzhong chemicalindustry Co.,Ltd.制造;产品名:QJ2.0)。
下表1列出了实施例1和2以及对比例1至4中获得的各活性炭的物理性质。在是对比例3的情况下,在搅动后观察到团块形成,因此不可能对这种团块施以后面的步骤。

基于表1中所列的结果可看出下列事实。
(1)在实施例1和2的情况下,L/D值为0.8至1.2,由此获得了每单位体积具有大的吸附率的活性炭。
(2)在对比例1的情况下,每单位体积的容量可接受。但是,所得L/D值为1.5至2.0。这表明在容器中的填充容量变差,这导致频繁发生漂移。
(3)在对比例2的情况下,每单位体积的容量可接受。但是,所得L/D值为1.3至1.7。这表明在容器中的填充容量变差,这导致频繁发生漂移。此外,搅动过程中形成团块,造成收率降低。
(4)在对比例3的情况下,成型碳的温度降低。因此,不能充分获得球形产品。
(5)在对比例4的情况下,所得每单位体积的容量不足。因此,即使为了硬度进行活化,也会发生硬度降低。此外,形成了大量细粉。
工业适用性
本发明活性炭具有基本为球形的构造,并因此每单位体积吸附/解吸容量优异。此外,其具有低通风压损失和高硬度。因此,由于形状效应,当其用作滤罐的活性炭时,可以在不提高通风压损失的情况下提高每单位体积的碳量并且可以改进WC容量。此外,由于形状效应,本发明的活性炭表现出改进的操作和填充性质。
Claims (6)
1.一种活性炭,其平均长度/平均直径(L/D)为0.8至1.0,1/1-体积苯吸附率与1/10-体积苯吸附率之差为6.0克/100毫升或更高。
2.根据权利要求1的活性炭,其中1/1-体积苯吸附率为20克/100毫升或更高。
3.根据权利要求1或2的活性炭,其中平均直径(D)为0.5至10毫米。
4.根据权利要求1至3任一项的活性炭,其中根据JIS K1474 5.5测得的活性炭的硬度为90%或更高。
5.一种滤罐,其利用根据权利要求1至4任一项的活性炭作为吸附剂。
6.进气过滤器,其利用根据权利要求1至4任一项的活性炭作为吸附剂。
