本发明总的说与通信接头有关,更具体地说,是采用转插板的接头。
发明背景
在通信产业中,利用诸如屏蔽和非屏蔽扭绞双线电缆,同轴电缆,和光纤电缆等通信电缆来传输数据、声音、视频和/或音频信息。在此产业中人们都知道网络设备机壳支架系统,它们被用来操纵和编排发至各目的地和从那儿接进来的这类电缆。
支架系统一般包含分布式框架支架,支架上安装一个或多个转插板,网络设备,光纤机壳等。支架系统可有多种功能,包括用作松动托架,拼接托架,电缆编排器和转插板。这些支架系统和设备对接时也可用作互联或交叉连接机壳。此外,支架系统还可用作通信箱,让电缆沿它们的长度终结,拼接,插入和/或贮存在各种位置。
支架通常由框架构成,框架具有一些安装孔,它们处在沿支架垂直腿或壁的位置。象转插板一类的插入设备被安装在支架上,以大致界定插入侧(从另外的有源装置或转插板来的插入线在那儿相互连接)和分配侧(从网络设备和/或工作站区来的电缆在那儿终结)。
通常在支架的两侧提供一些电缆操纵的结构或部件,以支撑和确定电缆的路线。随着光纤接头用于连接器支架系统的不断增加,正确的电缆操纵和弯曲半径的控制变得越发重要。现有许多系统不可能提供完整的弯曲半径控制,而且效率低,很难制造,很难操纵和接近,和/或有其它的缺陷。
颁发给Barker等人的美国专利NO.6866541描述了一种对转插板设计的改进建议。该专利描述的转插板通常界定一种浅的V形(而不是平的或平面形),“V”的顶点凸向安装它的支架的前面。安装在转插板内的插座与转插板表面齐平,它们的方向是面朝外或朝前。因此,插座的插入和心线的操纵两者都可以简化。这种结构的一个缺点是:由于转插板朝前伸至支架而需要额外的空间。

本发明是针对通信接头的转插板,通信接头的主要例子是通信输出口或插口。此处用到的术语“朝前”、“朝前地”、和“前方”及其衍生词是指由向量确定的方向,此向量从转插板的中心伸至图2中的观察者。反之,术语“朝后”、“朝后地”及其衍生词是指与向前方向正好相反;朝后的方向由从转插板中心背离图2中观察者伸展的向量确定。术语“横向”、“横向地”及其衍生词是指由向量确定的方向,该向量从转插板中心开始朝一个垂直平面的法线方向伸展,此垂直平面通过转插板中心朝图2中观察者的方向伸展。术语“居中”、“朝内”、“内侧”及其衍生词是指与横向相反的方向,即此方向从转插板的周边伸向上述切分平面。
现在参照附图,图1-3为通信支架组件,一般用10代表。典型的支架组件10包含一个转插板12,虽然本专业技术人员了解,通常通信支架10将包含多个转插板12。转插板12基本上为骨架型框架,在所示实施例中,它包括一般为平面形的前板13,顶边14,底边16,和横向法兰18(见图4),或其它可以让转插板12安装到支架组件10上的安装部件。前板13包含许多孔,安装前盖30就被接纳在孔内。横向法兰18界定基本与前板13平行的平面P。转插板12通常用钢或其它金属制成,虽然在某些实施例中可采用别的材料。

前盖30通常用聚碳酸脂或聚碳酸脂/ABC混合物等聚合物材料制成。但是,前盖30能由本领域普通技术人员公知的其它合适材料形成。另外,在某些实施例中,框架和前盖可以做成单个整体件,让框架提供支撑而前盖提供输出口20的安装位置。
下面参照图7和8,输出口20包括插头框架52和后壳体60。插头框架52具有顶表面53和底表面(未示出),每个表面上安装着挂钩54,同时还包括侧壁57,59。斜面56与侧壁57相交并以倾角伸向侧壁(典型角度在10至45度之间)。插头框架52包括上述插头孔22,孔内安装着电接头61(见图1),用来与配接插头24的触点相配。
插头壳体52的后部安装在后壳体60上,后者与电缆28相连接。通常后壳体60包含绝缘位移接头(IDC)一类的东西,用来将电缆28的各导线与后壳体60相连接。另外,安装在插头孔22内的电接头61一般是安装在接线板内,后者处在后壳体60中。盖子62固定在后壳体60的一侧,且另一个盖子64可分离地锁在后壳体60的另一侧。盖子64在电缆导线和IDC端接期间可以被取下并替换后面的终端。
Arnett等人的美国专利NO.5,897,395中详细描述了典型输出口20的结构和工作,我们把它全部引用到这里作参考。
还是参考图7和8,输出口20是安装在前盖30中的输出口孔36内,使得顶表面53和底表面一般为水平,而侧壁57、59一般为垂直。当输出口20与前盖30的咬合凹座35相咬合时,它被挂钩54保持到位。在图7的方位下,输出口20的方位使得侧壁57、59基本垂直于前盖30的面板32,因此插头24沿之进入插头孔22的插头轴线A1垂直于面板32。与之相反,在图8的方位下,输出口20的方位是使斜面56一般垂直于前盖30的面板32;因此,插头孔22相对前盖30的面板32以40-45度左右的倾角面朝前和朝侧面。所以插头24沿之进入插头孔22的水平插头轴线A2相对前盖30的面板32成一倾角,且与插头24固定的插入线26自然地从插头24沿横向伸展。在这种方位下,后壳体60和/或盖子64各部分被接纳在前盖30的凹槽38内(因为转插板12的边14,16通常比前盖30的顶和底板37、40薄,边14、16不一定需要凹槽或凹座来安装输出口20;另外,在某些实施例中,敞开的凹槽38可以完全省掉或者用板37、40内的封闭凹座代替)。安装导杆44可以帮助前盖30内输出口20的插入。
将输出口20插入一个方位,然后让输出口20围绕通过挂钩42的垂直轴线A3旋转,可让它在图7和8的方位之间旋转。因此工作人员可以选择在各种操作(如导线端接,插头插入,电缆操纵等)下的输出口方位。
