预测火车速度的方法
技术领域
本发明总体涉及一种机车显示方式,更具体地说,涉及一种预测和显示路线上火车的速度的方法。
背景技术
在制定计划、到达目的地的时间本身是非常重要的且与燃料经济性或乘坐舒适性结合起来也是非常重要的轨道系统中,需为火车操作人员计算和显示该路线的计划行驶速度特性图(profile)。在制备该速度特性图时,需要考虑该路线的速度极限和物理限制。这些系统的实例示出在欧洲公开的申请467,377A2和539,885A2中。这些现有系统是铁路使用的、控制它们系统中火车的行动和燃料效率的火车或行驶控制系统的一部分。
对于在大范围中长途运输或行驶来说,对火车速度的高效操作对于操作人员来说是很大的挑战。操作人员优选地使用独立控制的油门和制动器。火车速度的控制是机车工程师或操作人员的基本操作要求。对于安全操作来说,他必须严格地遵守制定好的速度极值、临时速度限制(慢速)以及列车进站信号的速度要求。他通过操作机车油门和/或动态制动把手的位置,并且在需要的情况下操作火车空气制动把手,从而实现上述目的。
所有的机车都装配有速度计,大部分机车都具有加速计。如果不幸受到极端质量(重量)和一般火车长度的限制,那么火车会响应于操作人员的控制动作而慢速行驶。如果操作人员施加或释放空气制动,那么在完全施加或释放火车制动系统之前可能已经过去一至二分钟。火车的速度也会受到其所经过的路线上坡度的显著影响。对于沿着前方路线各点处的预测速度进行显示可允许火车操作人员或机车工程师根据当前的制动和油门设置来提前预判和反应于火车速度的增加。
发明内容
该系统提供一种预测路线上火车速度的方法,包括:判定轨道上火车的位置,判定火车的速度以及判定当前制动和油门设置。相应于轨道的间隔点计算和显示实现理想火车速度所需的推荐制动和油门设置。根据所述判定结果计算沿着轨道的间隔点处的速度。所计算的速度显示在沿着所显示轨道的间隔点处。本质上,本系统根据机车工程师当时的制动和油门设置来判定和显示前方的速度以及所需的制动和油门设置。这是一种建议性的系统,使得操作人员能够实现改善的控制和决策,更好的实现理想的火车速度。该系统用于大范围内火车的长距离行动期间。
另外,可判定和显示间隔点处的速度,并且判定和显示超过速度极值的算得速度。超过速度极值的速度可显示在所显示轨道的间隔点处,其显示方式不同于没有超过速度极值的速度。如果一个或多个算得速度超过速度极值,那么可为操作人员计算和显示提示制动和油门设置,这样将允许保持正确的火车速度。如果操作人员遵守并且执行该提示制动和油门设置,那么所推荐的设置将不再被显示。如果在显示提示设置之后制动和油门设置没有被改变,那么在启动自动控制的情况下,制动和油门设置可以自动地改变为所述提示制动和油门设置。

具体实施方式
NewYork Air Brake的LEADER系统记载在US6,144,901中,其引用结合于此,并且根据能量、动能和势能守恒的原理进行操作。LEADER系统的数学模型根据火车的当前能量状态监控参数并且执行计算,从而实时地显示火车的动态特性。LEADER系统的能力在于提供允许机组人员更好地控制火车、最小化能量损失的信息。经由过度制动损失的能量表示没有必要消耗的燃料。分配给火车的货物的能量表示对于装载的货物、装备和轨道的潜在损害。这两种情况都是无益的。
虽然LEADER系统将用于实现本发明,但是也可使用根据火车的当前状态预测随后路线上的速度的其他类似系统。
图1示出机车驾驶室中的显示方式。美国专利6,144,901的图5详细地说明该显示方式的各个元素。这里将详细说明对于本发明有帮助的内容。如图所示,火车12处于轨道14上。该显示方式垂直和水平地示出轨道上的火车。标记线16如图所示与各个轨道位置交叉。单元框18示出当前速度、加速度和拉杆(draw bar)力。
如图2所说明的,本发明判定轨道上的火车的当前位置、火车速度和油门制动的设置,并且根据它们来预测前方路线上各个位置处的火车速度。这在图1中以单元框20示出预测速度的实例。本系统的特征之一是识别沿着轨道或路线的各个点处的速度极值并且提供是否超速的指示。例如,一直使用25mph的速度极值,但是首先和最后示出的速度会超过该速度极值。这些超过的速度将独立地示出。例如,未达到速度极值的速度可以采用黄色,而超过速度极值的预测速度可以采用红色。超过的速度也可采用闪烁的方式以引起操作人员的注意。例如,该显示方式示出沿着路线以四分之一英里为增量设置的点。也可使用其他增量。
本发明也可为操作人员提供其他消息。消息框22提供消息“准备应用空气制动”和“通过DB调制实现速度极值”。DB是动态制动。单元框24示出在规定GPS位置的提示动态制动应用。DB数表示在动态制动区域中推进把手的档位(notch)。从轨道显示器中清楚地示出,当前油门设置的加速来自于轨道的向下坡度。如果不经过调整,那么将超过速度极值。
图2示出本方法的流程图。在步骤30,判定火车速度、轨道位置、制动和油门设置。在步骤32,计算路线多点处的火车速度。在步骤34,判定路线上多点处的任何速度是否超过路线上该点处的速度极值。如果没有超过,那么在步骤36,路线上各点的显示信息上显示各点的计算速度。如果在步骤34,一些速度超过速度极值,那么在步骤38独立地示出过高和过低的速度。
同样,如果速度超过速度极值,那么在步骤40计算油门和/或制动设置,从而将沿该路线的各点的速度降低为低于速度极值。接下来,可以在步骤42判定火车控制是否是自动控制。如果是自动控制,那么在步骤44油门和/或制动设置被致动为使速度点降低的设置。
如果在步骤42没有进行自动控制,那么为降低速度而计算的油门和/或制动设置在步骤46示出。接下来,在步骤48判定机组人员的响应。如果有响应,那么该方法通过返回路线50重复至判定速度、位置以及制动和油门设置以及计算该路线上的火车速度。如果在步骤48没有出现机组人员的响应,那么在由火车操作人员选定的情况下可以在步骤52自动实施。在步骤52的实施之后,该方法经由路线54重复以再次判定火车速度、位置以及油门和制动设置并且计算该路线上的火车速度和点。
图1示出的提示油门和制动设置的各种显示仅仅是一项实例。可以使用其他值或者显示方式。例如,所提示的油门和制动设置可与算得速度共同显示。同样,即使在没有速度极值或者将超过速度极值时,也可计算和显示所提示的油门和制动设置。作为其他变化方案,如果没有采取校正操作,那么可激活报警指示器。

Claims (9)

1.一种预测轨道上火车的速度的方法,该方法包括:
判定火车在轨道上的位置,火车的当前速度以及火车的制动和油门设置;
根据当前火车速度和位置以及火车的制动和油门设置计算沿着轨道的间隔点处的预测速度;
根据当前位置、速度、制动和油门设置以及间隔点处的预测速度计算沿着轨道的间隔点处的提示制动和油门设置;以及
同时显示沿着轨道的间隔点的轨道和预测速度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,包括在间隔点处判定速度极值,判定和同时显示超过所述速度极值的预测速度。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述制动和油门设置包括气动制动、电动气动制动、动态制动和推进。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述提示制动和油门设置随着沿着轨道的间隔点的轨道和预测速度同时地显示。
5.根据权利要求4所述的方法,其中,如果一个或多个预测速度超过所判定的在沿着轨道的间隔点处的速度极值,那么在沿着轨道的间隔点处计算和显示所述提示制动和油门设置。
6.根据权利要求4所述的方法,包括在显示所提示的设置之后判定制动和油门设置的改变并且重复该方法。
7.根据权利要求4所述的方法,包括在显示所提示的制动和油门设置之后判定是否已经改变制动和油门设置,如果没有改变,那么将制动和油门设置自动地改变为所提示的制动和油门设置。
8.一种预测轨道上火车的速度的方法,该方法包括:
判定火车在轨道上的位置,火车的当前速度以及火车的制动和油门设置;
根据当前火车速度和位置计算沿着轨道的间隔点处的预测速度;
根据当前位置、速度、制动和油门设置以及间隔点处的预测速度计算沿着轨道的间隔点处的提示制动和油门设置;以及
同时显示轨道和预测速度,
在间隔点处判定速度极值,判定和同时显示超过所述速度极值的预测速度,
其中,超过速度极值的预测速度显示在沿着所显示轨道的间隔点处,其显示方式不同于沿着所显示轨道的间隔点处显示的未超过速度极值的预测速度。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其中,超过速度极值的预测速度显示为红色和闪烁其中之一。
