技术领域
用于缓解打鼾和其它呼吸相关的障碍的外部鼻扩张器被用于执行两种相反的功能。首先,扩张器需要牢固地附着于鼻部皮肤。第二,扩张器施加向外的力,以打开鼻瓣膜(nasal valve)区域。如果初始的附着力不足,那么第二向外的力将导致扩张器脱离。在目前的鼻扩张器中,例如丙稀酸盐粘接剂的粘接剂用于相对快速地进行粘接,以使得向外的弹簧力不会像通常那样导致脱离。
背景技术
然而,使用压力敏感的丙稀酸盐粘接剂是有问题的。例如,在去除丙稀酸盐粘接剂的强力粘接(当粘着力较少时对皮肤较好),其在出汗时失去粘性且其潜在地堵住毛孔或造成不适,这都是在使用快速设置的粘接剂时所遇到的问题。尽管这些问题比较次要,但是它们广泛存在,因为丙稀酸盐压力敏感粘接剂在市场上可获得的创伤治疗绷带方面广泛使用。
对于压力敏感粘接剂的应用来说,水状胶体粘接剂可代替丙稀酸盐粘接剂。然而,初始时水状胶体并不能提供足够的粘性。如此处使用的,用语“粘性”限定为将带(strip)从皮肤上去除所需的克量级的力(grams of force)。以下是典型地粘性随时间的比较:
●在人的皮肤上的丙稀酸盐粘接剂的粘性:
○~起初45克每英寸,
○~四小时时100克每英寸,且
○~24小时时200克每英寸。
●在人的皮肤上的水状胶体粘粘接剂的粘性:
○~起初25克每英寸,
○~20至30分钟时100克每英寸,且
○~24小时时140克每英寸。
丙稀酸盐粘接剂的粘性(~45克每英寸)起初足以抵消外部鼻扩张器的弹簧力,但是水状胶体粘接剂的最初粘性(起初~25克每英寸)不足以抵消弹簧力。在5分钟和20分钟之间,水状胶体粘接剂的粘性增加至其可以抵消弹簧力的程度。
水状材料提供良好的粘附力,易于去除且对皮肤温和。如上所述,水状胶体粘接剂的问题是其最初粘性不足以抵消外部鼻扩张器的弹簧力,这会导致鼻扩张器从皮肤上脱离。在水状材料升温时最初的粘附力达到显著的量并适用于皮肤表面,在此之后粘附力适于抵抗通常的鼻扩张器的弹簧力。增加粘附力的这段期间可以从五分钟至一小时。
因此,需要一种鼻扩张器粘附系统,其中可以通过延迟向外脱离/打开鼻瓣膜的扩张力即鼻扩张器的弹簧力,而提供给水状胶体粘接剂足够长的时间,以建立足够的粘附力。
发明内容
本发明涉及一种鼻扩张器,其具有弹簧力部件和粘接部件。弹簧力部件具有最小弹簧力的潜在状态,且可以被激活以导致弹簧力增加至足以扩张鼻部组织的量。
具体实施方式
本发明包括形成鼻扩张器条带1的两个部件,如图1所示。弹簧力层2具有在其潜在状态下的最小弹簧力,通常是如图1所示的平坦状态。皮肤接触层3提供用于粘附至鼻部的基底且很可能是水状胶体或类似材料。如图3所示,可选的纤维或丝网框架4可以并入到弹簧力层2中,以提供能收缩和变硬的栅格。
尽管本文所述的实施例描述了层状形式的部件,但是诸如嵌入部件的其它构造也在本发明的范围内。
鼻扩张器条带1通过弯曲条带1来附着于鼻部,以顺应鼻部的外表面,如图2所示。当进行某种激活过程时,弹簧力层2收缩,由此获得足以用作鼻扩张器的向外的弹簧力F,如图3所示。这种激活优选在将鼻扩张器条带1放置在使用者鼻部上之后约五分钟至约三十分钟的时间段内发生。该时间段允许皮肤接触层3在向外的力F达到最大值之前有时间完全建立其对鼻部皮肤的粘附力。通常,在干燥或固化时收缩的粘附剂可以用于皮肤接触层3,该接触层与弹簧力层2的材料结合,该弹簧力层的材料具有在暴露至空气、光、湿气、热或应力或压力或上述任意结合的情况下时具有收缩的性能。
弹簧力层2优选具有以下性能:
·紧密连接至皮肤接触层3,
·在其潜在存放状态时和在最初附着于鼻部时的最小固有横向力,
·激活机制或过程,由此在附着于鼻部之后的约五分钟至约三十分钟的时间段内,通常通过收缩可以获得足够的横向力(以打开鼻瓣膜或扩张鼻部组织),
·用对皮肤无刺激的医疗等级材料制造,
·以自动方式操作,以使得在通过将条带附着于他或她的鼻部而开始该过程之后使用者不需要干预或干预极少。
以下描述了弹簧力层2可被构造为能获得上述性能的几种方法和实施例。
·衬里保护:弹簧力层2可由液体、胶体或其它材料制造,这些材料覆盖有保护衬里。为了使用鼻扩张器条带1,衬里被去除,该衬里将弹簧力层2暴露至空气或光下。暴露至空气或光下使得材料干燥或改变并收缩,使得在鼻部上施加向外的力用于扩张。如图3所示的可选的纤维或丝网框架4可合并到弹簧力层2中,以提供能收缩和硬化的栅格(lattice)。
·包封:弹簧力层2可由包封的液体(例如粘接剂)制造,并能通过挤压胶囊和暴露液体而被激活。该实施例类似于“划擦和嗅闻”香气输送系统。一旦暴露包封的材料将收缩,导致鼻部扩张。如图3所示的可选的纤维或丝网框架4可合并到弹簧力层2中,以提供能收缩和硬化的栅格。
·弯曲应力激活:弹簧力层2可由在其平坦存放状态下惰性的材料制造。跨过鼻部的条带的弯曲/张紧使得它被激活,以开始其收缩过程。如图3所示的可选的纤维或丝网框架4可合并到弹簧力层2中,以提供能收缩和硬化的栅格。
·水激活:弹簧力层2可由在干燥条件下柔韧但在吸水时收缩的材料制造。水可通过使用者引入(例如,通过在条带附着于鼻部之后湿润条带的外侧)。备选地,能吸水的水状胶体材料很适合且能用作水的贮存器,以激活弹簧力层2。
·热激活:弹簧力层2可由在冷却、存放条件下柔韧但在暴露至空气并由体温加热时收缩的材料制造。该实施例可需要将从弹簧力层2的顶部去除的保护衬里,以防止在热存放条件下被激活。
备选地,条带可在存放过程中与空气相密封。
从前述说明中,本领域技术人员可以理解的是,本发明的鼻扩张器条带可用具有粘附和收缩性能的单层材料制造。本发明的鼻扩张器条带可使用在被使用者使用时能获得所需性能的任何合适的材料并用任何常规的手段制造。
尽管前述说明完整地描述和公开了本发明的鼻扩张器条带,但是并不意在限制本发明的范围,该范围是通过所附权利要求限定的。
Claims (8)
1.一种应用于鼻部以扩张鼻部组织的鼻扩张器,包括弹簧力层和皮肤接触层,其中,所述弹簧力层包括一材料,该材料具有最小弹簧力的初始潜在状态和较大弹簧力的激活状态;
且其中,所述激活状态在所述鼻扩张器被应用于鼻部之后5分钟至30分钟之间被激活。
2.如权利要求1所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述较大弹簧力足以打开鼻瓣膜和扩张鼻部组织。
3.如权利要求1所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述皮肤接触层包括粘接剂。
4.如权利要求3所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述粘接剂具有初始的低粘性和随后的较大粘性。
5.如权利要求4所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述的初始的低粘性足以导致所述鼻扩张器粘附至鼻部。
6.如权利要求4所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述随后的较大粘性足以在通过所述弹簧力层扩张鼻部组织时使所述鼻扩张器保持对鼻部的粘附。
7.如权利要求3所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述粘接剂为水状胶体粘接剂。
8.如权利要求1所述的鼻扩张器,其中,所述弹簧力层还包括能收缩和硬化的栅格。
