Abstract

Description
本发明涉及一种通过在至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物和至少一种交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物存在下沥干纸料而生产纸、纸板和卡片纸板的方法。
EP-A-0 462 365公开了一种生产纸的方法,其中将高分子量的阳离子聚合物和交联或未交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物和合适的话额外的膨润土或细碎硅石用作助留剂。交联有机聚合物的粒度小于750nm。
US-A-2003/0192664同样公开了一种生产纸的方法,其中将(i)颗粒直径小于500nm的交联的颗粒状离子有机聚合物和(ii)包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物计量加入含水纤维悬浮液中。
在公开在WO-A-98/29604中且意欲用于生产纸的方法中,首先将水溶性阳离子聚合物絮凝剂计量加入纸料中,导致形成纤维素絮状物,然后将该絮状物机械分解并用水溶性阴离子支化聚合物助留剂处理,所述助留剂具有超过3dl/g的特性粘数和在0.005Hz至少0.5的tanδ值。然后将纸料在造纸网上沥干并形成纸页。
生产纸的类似方法公开在WO-A-01/34908和WO-A-01/34909中。然而,还可在水溶性阳离子聚合物絮凝剂不存在下沥干纸料。阴离子支化聚合物助留剂具有超过1.5dl/g的特性粘数。然而,其常与粘土或硅石(硅质材料)组合用作絮凝剂体系。
WO-A-02/33171公开了一种生产纸的方法,其中纸料用由硅胶(硅质材料)和在非溶胀态下粒径小于750nm的有机微粒组成的絮凝剂体系处理。该微粒是交联的。它们的溶液粘度为至少1.1mPa.s,以聚合单元形式掺入的交联剂的含量基于单体单元超过4摩尔ppm。
根据在先法国申请04/04582的教导,将由(i)至少一种阳离子聚合物、(ii)至少一种硅酸盐如硅胶或膨润土和/或阴离子或两性有机聚合物和(iii)至少一种粒度为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dlg的交联的颗粒状阴离子聚合物组成的助留剂体系用于生产纸和纸品。在优选的实施方案中,在加入阳离子聚合物之前计量加入固定剂如聚氯化铝、聚二烯丙基二甲基氯化铵,包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物或双氰胺树脂。
本发明的目的为提供另一种生产纸的方法。
根据本发明,该目的通过一种通过在包含至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物和至少一种交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物的助留剂体系存在下沥干纸料并形成纸页而生产纸、纸板和卡片纸板的方法来实现,其中将组分(i)、(ii)和(iii)用作助留剂体系:
(i)作为单独的阳离子聚合物的至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其呈游离碱、盐和/或季铵化形式,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量Mw为至少1百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,
(iii)至少一种平均粒径为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dl/g的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物。
助留剂体系的组分(ii)可仅包含线性阴离子聚合物或膨润土和/或硅胶或包含这两种组分,然而,因此可分开或作为混合物将其计量加入纸料中。然而,作为组分(ii)还可使用至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶或线性阴离子聚合物和支化阴离子水溶性聚合物。在每种情况下助留剂的组分(ii)和(iii)还可分开或作为混合物加入纸料中。
在本发明的优选实施方案中,助留剂体系包含:
(i)至少一种呈游离碱或盐形式的包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其可通过水解包含乙烯基甲酰胺单元的聚合物而获得,其中水解度为0.5-100摩尔%,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量为至少2百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,其由(a)丙烯酰胺和/或甲基丙烯酰胺和(b)丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、马来酸酐、马来酸、衣康酸、巴豆酸、2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸、乙烯基磺酸和/或所述酸的盐获得,和
(iii)至少一种包含以聚合单元形式掺入的至少一种烯属不饱和C3-C5羧酸、烯属不饱和磺酸或所述酸的盐和在每种情况下至少一种交联剂且可通过反相乳液聚合制备的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物。
包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物(i)是已知的。它们通常由N-乙烯基甲酰胺的均聚物或共聚物通过水解存在于各个聚合物中的乙烯基甲酰胺单元的甲酰基并形成乙烯胺单元而制备。水解甲酰基可用酸或碱以及酶催化进行。包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物例如描述在对现有技术提及的US-A-4,421,602、US-A-5,334,287、EP-A-0 216 387、US-A-5,981,689、WO-A-00/63295、US-A-6,121,409和US-A-2003/0192664中。例如水解5-100摩尔%,优选15-98摩尔%,尤其是20-95摩尔存在于均聚物或共聚物中的乙烯基甲酰胺单元。
可通过水解聚N-乙烯基甲酰胺而获得的聚乙烯胺特别具有技术意义。包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物的摩尔质量Mw例如为10 000-15 000 000,通常为30 000-5 000 000,尤其是1 000 000-5 000 000。
在本发明的实施方案中,将(a)包含乙烯胺单元且摩尔质量为10000-500 000,优选45 000-350 000的聚合物和(b)包含乙烯胺单元且摩尔质量为至少1百万的聚合物的混合物用作助留剂体系的组分(i)。重量比例(a)∶(b)可在宽范围如90∶10-10∶90内变化。通常而言,其范围为60∶40-40∶60。
包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物可以任何形式如以游离碱形式使用。如果水解聚N-乙烯基甲酰胺借助碱如氢氧化钠溶液或氢氧化钾溶液进行,则聚乙烯胺以该形式存在。如果将诸如盐酸、硫酸或磷酸的酸用于水解包含N-乙烯基甲酰胺单元的聚合物,则形成酸的对应盐。然而,包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物还可以季铵化形式使用;例如,包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物可用氯甲烷、硫酸二甲酯、氯乙烷或苄基氯季铵化。
包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物的用量基于干的纸料例如为0.003-0.3重量%。这些聚合物用作单独的阳离子助留剂。
助留剂体系的组分(ii)包含至少一种摩尔质量为至少1百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶。优选使用的线性聚合物的摩尔质量Mw为至少2百万,通常为2.5-20百万。它们例如通过聚合(a)丙烯酰胺和/或甲基丙烯酰胺和(b)丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、马来酸酐、马来酸、衣康酸、巴豆酸、2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸、乙烯基磺酸和/或所述酸的盐而制备。优选使用的组分(ii)的阴离子聚合物为丙烯酰胺和丙烯酸或丙烯酸钠的共聚物、丙烯酰胺和甲基丙烯酸的共聚物、丙烯酰胺和乙烯基磺酸钠的共聚物以及丙烯酰胺和2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸的共聚物。共聚物中阴离子单体的比例例如可为5-95摩尔%。
支化阴离子水溶性聚合物是已知的,参见WO-A-98/29604、EP-B-1 167 392和EP-A-0 374 458。它们的特性粘数超过3dl/g。如果聚合在不存在调节剂下进行,则它们例如可通过在量基于所用单体小于6摩尔ppm的至少一种交联剂存在下反相悬浮聚合阴离子单体如丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、乙烯基磺酸和/或其盐而获得。如果聚合阴离子单体在至少一种调节剂存在下进行,则如上述参考文献所示,聚合阴离子单体可在6-25摩尔ppm的至少一种交联剂存在下进行。已知交联剂为分子中包含至少两个烯属不饱和双键的化合物,例如亚甲基双丙烯酰胺、季戊四醇三丙烯酸酯或甘油二丙烯酸酯。
组分(ii)的线性阴离子聚合物和/或支化阴离子水溶性聚合物的用量基于干的纸料例如为0.003-0.3重量%。
合适的话,除了线性和/或支化阴离子聚合物外,组分(ii)还可包含膨润土和/或硅胶。对本发明而言,膨润土应理解为指可在水中溶胀的细碎的矿物质,例如膨润土本身、锂蒙脱石、硅镁土、蒙脱土、绿脱石、皂石、锌蒙脱石、hormite和海泡石。例如改性和未改性的硅石适合作为硅胶。膨润土和/或硅胶通常以含水悬浮液形式使用。如果将膨润土和/或硅胶用于本发明方法中,则其量基于干的纸料为0.01-1.0重量%,优选0.1-0.5重量%。
助留剂体系包含平均粒径为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dl/g的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物作为组分(iii)。它们例如为已知的聚合物水分散体、油包水聚合物分散体或所谓的水包水聚合物分散体,其或者具有高的中和盐浓度或用保护胶体稳定。交联阴离子聚合物颗粒的平均粒径例如为1-20μm,优选1-10μm。
根据本发明用作助留剂体系的组分(iii)的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物例如可通过在(c)存在下聚合(a)和(b)而制备:
(a)10-100摩尔%至少一种阴离子单体,
(b)0-90摩尔%至少一种非离子单体
(c)至少一种交联剂,其量基于(a)和(b)的总和优选为至少7ppm,尤其是至少15ppm。
以ppm表示的数据为摩尔ppm。
单体(a)的实例为烯属不饱和C3-C5羧酸、烯属不饱和磺酸和/或所述酸的盐。这类单体的各实例为丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、马来酸、富马酸、巴豆酸、衣康酸、2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸、苯乙烯磺酸、丙烯酸磺基丙酯、甲基丙烯酸磺基丙酯、乙烯基磺酸和所述单体的碱金属盐、碱土金属盐和铵盐。优选使用丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸的钠盐、钾盐和/或铵盐。
合适的单体(b)例如为丙烯酰胺、甲基丙烯酰胺、丙烯腈、甲基丙烯腈、N-乙烯基甲酰胺、N-异丙基丙烯酰胺、N,N-二甲基丙烯酰胺、N-乙烯基吡咯烷酮、乙酸乙烯酯、具有1-6个碳原子的一元醇的丙烯酸酯、具有1-6个碳原子的一元醇的甲基丙烯酸酯和苯乙烯。用于聚合的不溶或微溶于水的单体用量使得它们还与水溶性单体共聚,该用量例如小于20摩尔%,优选小于10摩尔%。
将至少一种交联剂用作制备颗粒状阴离子聚合物的组分(c)。交联剂应理解为指在分子中包含至少两个烯属不饱和双键的化合物,例如亚甲基双丙烯酰胺、乙二醇二丙烯酸酯、乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、三羟甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯、三羟甲基丙烷三甲基丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇三丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇四丙烯酸酯、丙烯酸烯丙酯、甲基丙烯酸烯丙酯、三烯丙胺和丁二醇二丙烯酸酯。
用于聚合中的交联剂的量基于所用单体例如为7-500ppm,优选15-200ppm(在每种情况下以摩尔计算)。
交联的颗粒状阴离子聚合物优选在聚合调节剂不存在下制备。然而,聚合还可在调节剂存在下进行,但是通常而言,因此需要大量交联剂以获得合适的颗粒状阴离子聚合物。交联的阴离子聚合物颗粒优选通过反相乳液聚合方法而制备。在该方法中,单体水溶液借助至少一种油包水乳化剂在烃油中乳化,然后聚合。形成的聚合物颗粒可从W/O乳液中分离并例如以粉末形式得到。还可从水分散体或水包水分散体中分离出聚合物颗粒。优选使用聚合物浓度例如为15-50重量%的交联的颗粒状阴离子聚合物的水分散体。在操作中,将N,N’-亚甲基双丙烯酰胺优选用作制备阴离子交联聚合物颗粒的交联剂,其量例如为5-10000重量ppm,尤其是15-1000重量ppm。
根据1988年10月,ISO 1628/1,″Guidelines for the standardization ofmethods for the determination of viscosiyt number and limiting viscositynumber of polymers in dilute solution″测定,交联的阴离子聚合物颗粒的特性粘数例如小于3dl/g,例如在2-2.95dl/g的范围内。
交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物(iii)的用量例如为30-1000g/t,优选30-600g/t干的纸料。
包含组分(i)、(ii)和(iii)的助留剂体系例如可以如下方式使用:首先将组分(i)的至少一种化合物计量加入高稠度纸料中,然后用水稀释混合物。然而,组分(i)还可计量加入低稠度纸料(固体含量例如为0.7-1.5重量%)中,然后合适的话使其经受剪切,然后可加入组分(ii)和组分(iii)的有机聚合物。有利的是,组分(ii)和(iii)的有机聚合物还可以混合物的形式加入低稠度纸料中。如果将膨润土和/或硅胶用作组分(ii),则将该组分的无机成分在加入组分(ii)的有机聚合物之前或之后计量加入,或将它们在同时但分开加入。然而,它们还可单独用作助留剂体系的组分(ii)。
如果将两种不同的聚乙烯胺用作例如组分(i),则将包含乙烯胺单元且摩尔质量为45 000-350 000的组分计量加入低稠度纸料本身(固体含量>1.5重量%)中,通过加入水稀释浆料,加入包含乙烯胺单元且属于组分(i)的其它聚合物,然后使混合物经受剪切段,加入助留剂体系的组分(ii)和组分(iii),然后沥干纸料。然而,还可将组分(iii),然后组分(ii)首先计量加入低稠度纸料中。然而,还可采用其中首先如上所述将组分(i)加入纸料,然后计量加入组分(ii),使混合物经受剪切段,然后在沥干纸料之前加入组分(iii)的程序。然而,还可采用其中在最后的剪切段之后,首先将组分(i),然后将组分(ii)和组分(iii)的有机阴离子聚合物,然后将组分(ii)的无机化合物在流浆箱之前依次计量加入的程序。

本发明还涉及包含组分(i)、(ii)和(iii)的助留剂体系在生产纸、纸板和卡片纸板中作为添加剂的用途:
(i)作为单独的阳离子聚合物的至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其呈游离碱、盐和/或季铵化形式,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量Mw为至少1百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,
(iii)至少一种交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物,其平均粒径为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dl/g。
可将各组分以任何所需顺序加入纸料中,其中可将组分(ii)的成分分开或作为混合物计量加入,且可将组分(ii)和(iii)分开或作为混合物加入纸料中。
令人惊讶的是,与使用阳离子聚丙烯酰胺与阴离子聚合物和粒度小于1μm的交联的颗粒状阴离子聚合物的组合相比,通过本发明方法获得了显著改进的保留率。与通常用于助留剂体系的阳离子聚丙烯酰胺相比,本发明使用包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物作为助留剂体系成分导致沥干性能的改进。
本发明方法可加工所有纸料。例如,可起始于所有类型的纤维素纤维,起始于天然和回收纤维,尤其是起始于废纸纤维。适合生产浆料的纤维为常用于此的所有品级,例如机械浆、漂白和未漂化学浆和包括所有一年生植物的纸料。机械浆例如包括磨木浆、热法机械浆(TMP)、化学热磨机械浆(CTMP)、压力磨木浆、半化学浆、高得率化学浆和盘磨机械浆(RMP)。硫酸盐浆、亚硫酸盐浆和碱法浆例如适合作为化学浆。优选使用也称作未漂牛皮浆的未漂化学浆。适合生产纸料的一年生植物例如为稻、小麦、甘蔗和洋麻。有利的是浆料还可使用废纸生产,所述废纸单独使用或作为与其它纤维的混合物使用,或将包含原浆和回收的有涂层废纸的纤维混合物如漂白的松木硫酸盐与回收的有涂层废纸的混合物用作原料。
助留剂体系(i)、(ii)和(iii)可与常规加工化学品一起用于生产纸和纸品。常规加工化学品例如为添加剂,例如淀粉、颜料、荧光增白剂、染料、生物杀伤剂、纸用强度剂、施胶剂、固定剂和消泡剂。这类添加剂以常用量使用。例如,所有淀粉类型如天然淀粉或改性淀粉,尤其是阳离子改性淀粉可用作淀粉。合适的固定剂例如为聚二甲基二烯丙基氯化铵、双氰胺树脂、表氯醇交联的二元酸和多胺的缩合物、聚氯化铝、硫酸铝和聚水合氯化铝。合适的施胶剂例如为松香胶、烷基双烯酮或链烯基琥珀酸酐。
实施例:
将如下原料用于实施例和对比例中:
PVAm 1:摩尔质量Mw为45 000D的聚乙烯胺(通过水解聚N-乙烯基甲酰胺而制备,水解度为95摩尔%,即除了乙烯胺单元之外,聚合物还包含乙烯基甲酰胺单元)
PVAm 2:包含20摩尔%乙烯胺单元和80摩尔%N-乙烯基甲酰胺单元的聚合物,其摩尔质量Mw为1 500 000D(通过水解聚N-乙烯基甲酰胺而制备,水解度为20摩尔%)
Lin.PAM/PAS:如下物质的混合物:
(a)90重量%的70摩尔%丙烯酰胺和30摩尔%丙烯酸钠的线性聚合物,Mw为5百万(助留剂组分(ii)的有机聚合物),和
(b)10重量%的30摩尔%丙烯酰胺和70摩尔%丙烯酸铵通过反相乳液聚合制备的交联的颗粒状阴离子共聚物,平均粒度为1.2μm,特性粘数为2.5dl/g(助留剂组分(iii))。
PAM:丙烯酰胺和丙烯酸二甲基氨基乙酯的共聚物,其由氯甲烷季铵化,阳离子度(cationicity)为15摩尔%,摩尔质量Mw为5百万
特性粘数根据ISO 1628/1,1988年10月,″Guidelines for thestandardization of methods for the determination of viscosity number andlimiting viscosity number of polymers in dilute solution″测定。
聚合物的摩尔质量通过光散射测定。
实施例1-5和对比例1-8:
保留效果(总保留率FPR和灰份保留率FPAR)根据Britt Jar测定。将包含70重量%TMP(热机械浆)、30重量%漂白松木硫酸盐和30重量%磨碎的碳酸钙的纸料用于所有实施例。将纸料稀释至固体含量为0.77重量%,且在每种情况下加入表1所述助留剂体系的组分,其中维持如下顺序:合适的话PVAm 1,、PVAm 2或PAM(对比例),Lin.PAM/PAS和合适的话膨润土。如果使用膨润土,则膨润土和Lin.PAM/PAS同时计量加入。保留值显示在表1中。
沥干时间通过在Schopper-Riegler测试仪中在每种情况下沥干1L待测试的纤维悬浮液和测定通过600ml滤液所需的时间而测定。结果显示在表1中。
此外,纸张定量为80g/m3的纸张在标准实验室纸页成形机中由上述纸料形成,且纸页成形借助购自Techpap的2D实验室成形传感器测定。测量值越低,纸页成形越好。
Claims (9)
1.一种通过在包含至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物和至少一种交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物的助留剂体系存在下沥干纸料并形成纸页而生产纸、纸板和卡片纸板的方法,其中将组分(i)、(ii)和(iii)用作所述助留剂体系:
(i)作为单独的阳离子聚合物的至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其呈游离碱、盐和/或季铵化形式,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量Mw为至少1百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,
(iii)至少一种平均粒径为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dl/g的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其中将所述助留剂体系的组分(ii)和(iii)分开或作为混合物计量加入纸料中。
3.根据权利要求1或2的方法,其中所述助留剂体系包含:
(i)至少一种呈游离碱或盐形式的包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其可通过水解包含乙烯基甲酰胺单元的聚合物而获得,其中水解度为0.5-100摩尔%,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量为至少2百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,其中该聚合物由(a)丙烯酰胺和/或甲基丙烯酰胺和(b)丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、马来酸酐、马来酸、衣康酸、巴豆酸、2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸、乙烯基磺酸和/或所述酸的盐获得,和
(iii)至少一种包含以聚合单元形式掺入的至少一种烯属不饱和C3-C5羧酸、烯属不饱和磺酸或所述酸的盐和在每种情况下至少一种交联剂且可通过反相乳液聚合制备的交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物。
4.根据权利要求1-3中任一项的方法,其中所述助留剂包含作为组分(i)的包含乙烯胺单元且摩尔质量Mw为10000-500000的聚合物和包含乙烯胺单元且摩尔质量Mw为至少1百万的聚合物。
5.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的方法,其中所述包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物(i)的用量基于干的纸料为0.003-0.3重量%。
6.根据权利要求1-5中任一项的方法,其中所述组分(ii)的线性阴离子聚合物和/或支化阴离子水溶性聚合物的用量基于干的纸料为0.003-0.3重量%。
7.根据权利要求1-5中任一项的方法,其中所述交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物(iii)的用量为30-1000g/t干的纸料。
8.根据权利要求1-6中任一项的方法,其中组分(ii)的膨润土和/或硅胶的用量基于干的纸料为0.01-1.0重量%。
9.包含组分(i)、(ii)和(iii)的助留剂体系在生产纸、纸板和卡片纸板中作为添加剂的用途:
(i)作为单独的阳离子聚合物的至少一种包含乙烯胺单元的聚合物,其呈游离碱、盐和/或季铵化形式,
(ii)至少一种摩尔质量Mw为至少1百万的线性阴离子聚合物和/或至少一种支化阴离子水溶性聚合物和/或膨润土和/或硅胶,
(iii)至少一种交联的颗粒状阴离子有机聚合物,其平均粒径为至少1μm,特性粘数小于3dlg。
