Abstract

一种系统及方法包括将声音活动或者其被检测出来的特征可视化,并且与由摄像机所获得的视频一起将这种声音活动显示为可视信号。通过使用简单的信号处理或者通过使用更为复杂的音频分析或声音识别,就能够从声信号中提取出有用的信息。这种提取出来的信息能够被变换成叠加在由摄像机所获取的上述视频信号上的可视信号。

监视系统及方法
技术领域
本发明一般地涉及视频信号和声信号的处理技术,特别地涉及在监视系统内利用该声信号来扩增视频信号的技术。
背景技术
在典型的监视系统中,用户典型地是保安人员通过连接到摄像机的监视器来监视各种场所,对于该场所的视觉监视将提供与该场所中的活动例如人和交通工具的移动以及环境条件有关的信息。
为了执行充分的监视并对重要活动做出响应,用户典型地需要观看在该场所中某些动作。然而,在各种各样的情况下这种监视方法可能是不够的。
由于经济方面的限制,摄像机要么聚焦在固定位置上,要么沿预定的弧线旋转,因此这样的系统对每个场所的观察范围就有限。其结果就是出现“盲”点,这会有意识或无意识地导致对特定场所发生的事情的误解。此外,仅仅靠视觉信息本身可能无法传达充分的信息以响应于异常事件而触发干预。
为了进一步阐明传统监视系统的缺点,考虑几个例子:摄像机被设置在电气服务室外面的走廊里。室内的变压器中发生小型爆炸。直到烟火从室内蔓延至走廊时,视觉提示才有效。在这个时候,警报可能已经太晚了。类似地,在多雪的条件下,夜间监视停车场的摄像机可能无法检测到闯入或袭击。
还有可能故意窜改摄像机以使它不能用于预期目的。
在上述所有的例子中,附加信息诸如由摄像机附近的麦克风所获得的音频信号可能警告用户。这种解决方案可能满足利用一台摄像机的监视系统。然而,对于利用多台例如数十台或数百台摄像机的系统,由少于摄像机的用户来进行监视,多个相互重叠的音频信号将仅产生难以辨认的杂音,而不是增强监视。
因此,就有必要用增强视频信号的声信号来扩增视频信号。
发明内容
根据本发明的系统和方法包括使声音活动或其被检测到的特征可视化,并且与由摄像机所获取的视频信号一起将这种声音活动显示为可视信号。
通过使用简单的信号处理或者通过使用更为复杂的音频分析或声音识别,就能够从声信号中提取出有用信息。这种提取出来的信息能够被变换成叠加在由摄像机所获取的视频信号上的可视信号。

具体实施方式
系统结构
图1所示是根据本发明的监视系统100。该系统包括用以获取视频信号111的一组摄像机110。与每个摄像机相关联的是用来获取声信号121的麦克风120。
来自每个麦克风的该声信号121例如用声音识别模块130进行分析并变换成可视信号131。该可视信号131与该视频信号111组合起来并显示在相应的监视器140上,以供用户150进行观察。如图1中阴影所示,该可视信号可以改变显示的亮度或颜色。或者,该可视信号还可以是图标或文本141的形式。
系统操作
声音能量可视化
在许多情况下,声信号的能级足以指示在场所的异常事件。以图2所示的安全通道的情况来说,虽然可视活动能够表示有人存在,但是摄像机的视角可能无法覆盖处于监视下的整个区域。监视声音活动的级别并把该声信号变换成被显示视频的相应亮度级就会造成在监视器阵列中一些图像比其他的图像较亮一些。这些较亮的图像表示较高的声音级,指示例如在场所有人存在。检查这种监视器阵列,用户就自然被吸引去查看与较大的活动级别相关联的监视器201。
特定声音检测
还可以训练上述分析和变换模块130以检测和识别特定声信号,诸如开关门声、尖叫声、脚步声、奔跑声等等。被识别的声信号能够在视觉上显示为监视器上的亮度级、图标或文本。显示的颜色也能从正常的灰度转变为被着色为红色或黄色的显示。
空间信息可视化
如图3所示,通过利用麦克风阵列,可以执行声音定位以帮助用户。在此,对一组发电机进行监视。如果其中一个发电机出现故障,如由卡嗒卡嗒声或尖叫声表示出来,那么,就能够指示出区域301是一个异常声音源。
本发明的效果
一种系统及方法与视频信号一起在视觉上表现声信号。声信号被分析并变换为可视信号,该可视信号可以被叠加或以别的方式与视频信号一起得以显示。因为现代摄像机大多数都配置有麦克风,所以本发明并不要求对监视系统做广泛的改造。
尽管本发明是通过优选实施方式的例子来说明的,但是应当理解在本发明的精神和范围之内可进行各种各样的其他适配和修改。因此,所附权利要求书的目的就是覆盖本发明的实质精神和范围内出现的所有这种变化和修改。

Claims (7)

1、一种用于监视多个场所的监视系统,包括:
一组摄像机,每个摄像机被配置成用来获取关联场所的视频;
一组麦克风,其中,一个麦克风用于一个相应的摄像机,每个麦克风被配置成用来获取在关联场所产生的声信号;
用来分析每个声信号并把该声信号变换成可视信号的装置;以及
一组监视器,其中,一个监视器用于一个麦克风和相应的摄像机,每个监视器被配置成用来同时显示上述视频和上述可视信号,
其中,上述可视信号是对作为上述声信号的来源的一个场所的指示,所述指示表示所述一个场所的异常状况。
2、根据权利要求1所述的监视系统,其特征在于:
上述可视信号是被显示在上述监视器上的文本。
3、根据权利要求1所述的监视系统,其特征在于:
上述可视信号是被显示在上述监视器上的图像的颜色。
4、根据权利要求1所述的监视系统,其特征在于:
上述可视信号是被显示在上述监视器上的图标。
5、根据权利要求1所述的监视系统,其特征在于:
上述可视信号是被显示在上述监视器上的图像的亮度。
6、根据权利要求5所述的监视系统,其特征在于:
上述亮度与上述声信号的能量相对应。
7、一种用于监视多个场所的监视方法,包括:
利用一组摄像机来获取一组视频;
利用一组麦克风来获取一组声信号,其中,一个麦克风用于一个相应的摄像机;
分析每个声信号并把该声信号变换成可视信号;并且
在关联监视器上同时显示上述视频和上述可视信号,
其中,上述可视信号是对作为上述声信号的一个来源的场所的指示,所述指示表示所述一个场所的异常状况。
