Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种高尔夫球杆。更具体地说,本发明涉及一种用于大体积高尔夫球杆头的配重系统。
背景技术
高尔夫球杆设计的主要目的一直在于改善高尔夫球手的表现。虽然改进方面可以考虑许多方面,但是设计者致力于设计一种更加理想和宽恕(forgiving)的高尔夫球杆。可以通过将高尔夫球杆的重心移到所要求的位置上并且形成更大的转动惯量来实现在高尔夫球杆中的宽恕性(forgiveness)。
提高在由均质或整块材料例如不锈钢构成的高尔夫球杆头中的宽恕性是很困难的,因为通常在高尔夫球手所可以接受的高尔夫球杆的整体重量上存在限制。为了克服该困难,设计者们已经借助于组合不同材料(高密度和低密度)来实现所要求的重心和大转动惯量。由于需要更小的体积来实现正确的配重,所以密度非常高的材料为设计者在改善高尔夫球杆头的性能方面提供了最大的自由度。可以在市场上买到的具有非常高密度的最经济材料是钨,该材料的密度为19.3克/立方厘米。

对于大多数技术而言,均需要将经过非常精确地机加工的配重件安装在高尔夫球杆头上的精确位置中。最经济的方法是铸造具有用于配重件的空腔的高尔夫球杆头主体并且用螺钉安装该配重件。但是,铸造的允许误差较低,并且需要对空腔自身进行机加工或对配重件进行机加工,以便与每个空腔相配。使用较柔软的材料是不合要求的,因为柔软材料在高尔夫球杆头的抛光期间被损坏而出现污斑将在对最终产品进行抛光时产生困难。
另外,其中在浇铸基底金属之前将配重件装在模具中的共铸造工艺非常依赖于材料,因为配重件当热液态基底金属浇铸在它周围时相对较冷,从而引起热冲击。此外,在不均质材料的共同铸造情况下,材料的热膨胀不匹配也是一个问题。在重新安装杆身(reshafting)期间会出现其它问题,其中要对高尔夫球杆头进行加热以除去杆身。这种加热会导致低熔融温度材料(环氧树脂和焊料)流动,从而导致配重件可能移动。另外,现有技术中的安全和特殊的配重机构使得球杆不能根据特定高尔夫球手的具体挥杆操作来进行配重。
发明内容
本发明通过提供一种高尔夫球杆头来克服现有技术的这些配重问题,该杆头具有一种配重系统,该配重系统在整个高尔夫球杆头已经形成之后装入,从而使得能够在成形后进行配重。这使得本发明的高尔夫球杆头能够根据具体的高尔夫球手来调节其重量。

具体实施方式
如在图1-8中所示一样,本发明的高尔夫球杆头大体上由20表示。高尔夫球杆头20是一种发球杆,但是本发明的高尔夫球杆头也可以是一种球道木杆。高尔夫球杆头具有主体22,它优选由金属材料例如钛、钛合金、不锈钢等构成,并且最优选由锻造钛材料构成。但是,主体22或部分主体22可以由碳素复合材料等构成。主体22在设计作为发球杆时优选具有大的体积,其体积通常大于300立方厘米,并且对于由钛构成的主体而言最优选为350立方厘米。但是,在设计作为发球杆时,由不锈钢构成的主体22可以具有200-275立方厘米的体积,并且由碳素材料构成的主体可以具有325-400立方厘米的体积。在设计作为发球杆时,主体22优选的重量不大于215克,并且最优选的重量为180-205克。当主体22设计作为球道木杆时,主体的重量为135克-180克,优选为140克-165克。主体22具有中空内部23。
主体22具有顶部24、后跟端26、尖端28、底部30、击球板32和带状部34。杆身(未示出)设置在位于后跟端26处的插鞘(未示出)内。在优选的实施例中,插鞘位于主体22内部,并且杆身延伸到位于孔36处的底部30上。主体22还具有与击球板32相对的后部部分38。

配重腔64的体积也可根据球杆而改变。在表1中给出了配重腔64的优选最小和最大体积。在优选实施例中,配重部件64由铋构成,通过入口同时以液态形式将它引进到配重腔66中。铋的熔融温度为271℃。铋的密度为9.80克/立方厘米,而钛的密度为4.5克/立方厘米。因此,铋的密度比钛大得多,从而能够具有最小的体积同时具有优化的质量。另外,铋在固化时将膨胀,因此在配重腔66内形成机械锁紧。配重腔64在液态形式中将与配重腔66的形状匹配。配重件64的重量优选为3-70克,更优选为7-20克,并且最优选为15克(包括配重腔66)。配重腔64的密度为7克/立方厘米-20克/立方厘米。如在表2中所示一样,配重件64的重量将根据具体的球道木杆和发球杆的杆面角而变化。

通过入口56引入铋配重件64,而击球板32向下取向并且平躺在表面上。因此,铋配重件64将首先占据配重件66的空间,即朝着击球板32并且继续朝着主体22的后部填充配重腔66。在优选的方法中,引入液态铋配重件的预定量的90%,然后对高尔夫球杆20进行称重,以便确定是否需要额外的铋以满足特定高尔夫球杆的具体要求。如果需要的话,则将额外的铋加入到配重腔66中,以便满足具体要求。本领域的普通技术人员将了解,在不脱离本发明的范围和精神的情况下可以采用其它材料作为配重件64。

内部插鞘100的壁114在中空内部23从顶部24延伸到底部30。内部插鞘100优选具有底部孔116。内部插鞘100可以与高尔夫球杆头20的主体22(除了顶部24)铸造在一起,或者如果主体23是单独的锻造部件的话,则内部插鞘100可以焊接在中空内部23内。
如图24-32中所示,插鞘衬垫104通常包括上面部分118和下面部分120。插鞘衬垫104具有外部孔122和内部孔124。下面部分120设置在内部插鞘100的上腔室108内。上腔室108的直径A应该牢固地容纳下面部分120的直径。下面部分120的直径大约为0.420英寸,但是外部肋条126的直径大约为0.437英寸。凸缘128的直径大约为0.437英寸。凸缘128还将插鞘衬垫104固定在内部插鞘100内。上面部分118在其最大直径(台肩72)处优选具有0.525英寸的直径。上面部分118座靠在顶部24上方。上面部分118具有在其中具有多个凹槽150的外表面130。上面部分的外表面130是弯曲的,并且外径朝着下面部分120增加。上面部分118终止在台肩132处,当插鞘衬垫104的下面部分120安放在内部插鞘100内时该台肩压靠在高尔夫球杆头20的顶部24上。插鞘衬垫104的上面部分118的弯曲外表面130与顶部24的表面不连续。
下面部分120具有带有狭缝152和外部肋条126的圆柱形表面134。狭缝152沿着大部分表面130延伸,并且在内孔124处开口。下面部分120的内表面具有接合杆身102的突起154。插鞘衬垫104优选由聚合材料例如聚碳酸酯材料构成。插鞘衬垫104设计用来缓解在高尔夫球杆头20和高尔夫球之间的撞击期间施加在杆身102上的应力。杆身衬垫104防止通常为碳素的杆身102和金属高尔夫球杆头20之间出现实质接触。在插鞘衬垫104中所使用的聚合物材料具有2-10尺磅的耐冲击性,并且具有350,000磅/平方英寸-1,000,000磅/平方英寸的弯曲模量。插鞘衬垫104的壁厚将随着所要求的弯曲模量而变化。壁厚将随着模量减小而增加,并且壁厚将随着模量增加而减小。0.035英寸的壁厚将具有500,000磅/平方英寸的弯曲模量。
图33-35显示出了插鞘衬垫104a的可选实施例。该实施例的上面部分118a具有完全光滑的表面130a。插鞘衬垫104a的壁可以具有嵌入在其中的金属环154,以便进一步降低应力并且在击打高尔夫球期间进行支撑。
图36为没有插鞘衬垫104的杆身102和内部插鞘100的计算机图像,用来说明在击打高尔夫球期间杆身102和插鞘100所承受的轴向应力。图37为杆身102、插鞘100和插鞘衬垫104的计算机图像,用来说明在击打高尔夫球期间杆身102、插鞘100和插鞘衬垫104所受到的轴向应力。图38显示出沿着杆身的距离和轴向应力的曲线图。插鞘平面160位于杆身102进入高尔夫球杆头20内的内部插鞘的地方。平面160是插鞘100终止在高尔夫球杆头20的底部30处的位置。图38显示出图36(没有插鞘衬垫104)的杆身102和图37的杆身102上的轴向应力的曲线图。图37的轴向应力曲线以粗线示出,并且图36的轴向应力曲线以虚线示出。最大的轴向应力出现在插鞘平面160处。没有插鞘衬垫104的高尔夫球杆头20承受了204,000磅/平方英寸(psi)的轴向应力。本发明具有插鞘衬垫104的高尔夫球杆头20只承受了167,000磅/平方英寸(psi)的轴向应力,这比没有插鞘衬垫的高尔夫球杆头20少22%。因此,本发明的插鞘衬垫104降低了在杆身102上的轴向应力,从而防止了杆身102断裂。
图39为杆头速度对直至断裂的击球数的曲线图。在该测试中,在高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面处击打高尔夫球。在85英里/小时(MPH)处的菱形代表没有插鞘衬垫104的高尔夫球杆,但是具有与本发明的高尔夫球杆18类似的体积和材料成分。在85.1英里/小时处的方形代表本发明的高尔夫球杆18。每个方形或菱形代表单个高尔夫球杆。该图表明本发明的高尔夫球杆18能够比没有插鞘衬垫104的高尔夫球杆头更好地承受在高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面处的冲击。
图40为对于两种不同的碳素杆身类型以及本发明的高尔夫球杆18而言的直到断裂的击球数的曲线图。与上述测试类似,在高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面处击打高尔夫球。本发明的高尔夫球杆18承受的击打数是其它碳素杆身高尔夫球杆的2-3倍。在高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面处击打高尔夫球的原因在于重现没有击中击球板32。尽管击打在高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面处的可能性非常低,但是高尔夫球杆头/杆身界面是高尔夫球杆的薄弱点,并且需要进行强度改进。但是,该改进不能妨碍高尔夫球杆的性能。
从上面描述可以相信,本领域的普通技术人员将认识到本发明的有价值的改进,并且容易理解,虽然已经对本发明的优选实施例以及附图中所示的其它实施例进行了说明,但是在不脱离将由下面所附权利要求所限定的本发明精神和范围内可以对其作出多种改变、改进和等价替换。因此,本发明的各种有利的实施例被限定在后附的权利要求书中。
Claims (8)
1.一种高尔夫球杆,它包括:
高尔夫球杆头,它具有顶部、底部、击球板、后跟端、尖端和具有顶部孔和底部孔的内部插鞘,该高尔夫球杆头的体积超过300立方厘米,并且其重量小于215克;
插鞘衬垫,它具有上面部分、下面部分和贯穿的孔道,上面部分的直径大于下面部分的直径,下面部分设置在内部插鞘内,所述插鞘衬垫在上面部分下方具有台肩,所述台肩接合着顶部,并且所述插鞘衬垫由聚合物材料构成;以及
杆身,它具有顶端和端头,顶端杆身设置成穿过插鞘衬垫的孔道并且穿过内部插鞘延伸到底部孔,所述杆身的重量小于85克。
2.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述杆身由碳素材料构成。
3.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述高尔夫球杆头由钛构成。
4.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述内部插鞘具有上腔室和下腔室,所述上腔室的直径大于下腔室的直径,所述插鞘衬垫的下面部分设置在所述上腔室内。
5.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述插鞘衬垫的上面部分具有在其中带有多个凹槽的弯曲表面。
6.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述插鞘衬垫的下面部分具有多个狭缝和多个内部突起。
7.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述高尔夫球杆头由不锈钢构成。
8.如权利要求1所述的高尔夫球杆,其特征在于,所述高尔夫球杆头的重量为180-205克。
