Abstract

La presente invención divulga un método para producir una semilla de planta de Lactuca que incluye usar una abeja Megachile como medio de polinización, y proporcionarle a la abeja Megachile una planta con menor contenido de néctar por la que tenga preferencia al realizar la visita de las flores, además de una planta de Lactuca progenitora de polen y una planta de Lactuca progenitora de semillas y realizar el cruzamiento de una planta de Lactuca utilizando una especie de plantas con preferencia al realizar la visita de las flores equivalente o menor que la de la planta de Lactuca. De acuerdo con una modalidad de la presente invención, es posible producir una semilla de planta híbrida de Lactuca de manera más eficiente y económica que antes utilizando una abeja Megachile como medio de polinización.
