Spark plug. The subject of the present invention is a spark plug with electrodes fixedly arranged in a housing, one of which is insulated and stored in the housing and the other is conductively connected to the housing.
According to the invention, the electrode conductively connected to the housing is designed as a sleeve surrounding the other electrode and is provided with holes.
This is to prevent 01 and impurities from entering the spark gap.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Figure 1. A longitudinal section through the candle; Fib. 2 is an end view.
The drawn candle has a metal housing 1, which is provided with a threaded connector 2 for screwing into .the motor. In the housing 1. an interrupted by an intermediate spark gap to connecting line 3 is fixed in insulating bodies 4, 5 with a screw 6 telst. On the lower part of the same sits the inner electrode 7, which protrudes into a bore 8 of the housing 1 and is exposed over a relatively large distance. In the bore 8, the outer electrode 9 is clamped between the housing 1 and the insulating body 4.
The electrode 9 is designed as a sleeve and is concentric to the electrode 7, which protrudes through a bore 10 of the electrode 9. The bore is larger than the diameter of the electrode 7, so that between the two parts around the electrode 7 there is a gap which forms a sufficiently large spark gap. The electrode 9 has a ring of holes 11, 12 at the front and rear ends, through which the interior of the electrode is connected to the outside in the bore 8. The insulation body 4 ends immediately at the holes 11.
In the housing 1, the cap 13 is screwed in front of the electrode 7, which: is seen ver on the edge with a number of holes 15 that are concentric to the axis of the electrode 7 in a circle. With the electrode 9 is a sleeve 16, for example made of brass in contact. The insulating bodies 4, 5 overlap; Furthermore, a cap 17 made of insulating material is arranged on the screw 6, both for the purpose of preventing the current from jumping over. When the engine is running, gas flows will occur during each compression and expansion and propagate into the bore 8 of the spark plug.
The incoming and outgoing gases are passed through the holes 15 of the cap 13 to the electrode 9 and, by changing their direction, pass through the holes 11 and 12 to the electrode 7 and to the spark gap 10. The impurities carried by the gases, For example, oil droplets do not pass through the holes 11, 12, and only pure gases pass over the spark bridge 10. During expansion, gases come out of the housing and take all of the back pieces with them, so that the candle always remains clean.
