Description

Hydraulic power plant finite artificial high pressure gradient. The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

Water is taken from a body of water A by means of a pressure pump D and conveyed in a completely airtight pipeline EF over the ridge B to a drainage point c, which is lower than the level of the body of water A. Water in a turbine G which is closed to the fall of the line part F is utilized.

The line part F is made slightly larger in diameter than the rising line part E, the latter protruding somewhat into the line part F. At its upper end, the line part h 'is connected to a ventilation pipe H, -through which, when the system is started, the air from the line can escape into the atmosphere during the filling of the same with water. During operation of the system, the pipe H is closed off from the line part h '.

In front of the turbine in the pipe part F there is a shut-off device (not shown) with which the amount of water flowing through the pipe can be regulated as desired, independently of the turbine regulation.

A very high degree of efficiency can be achieved with such a power plant.
