Elektrisches Stromerzeugungs-Aggregat.
Electric power generation unit. The customary electrical power generation units are all known to have disadvantages which make their practical application difficult and require them, for example a belt drive or a thermal or hydraulic power source.
The present invention bil det an electrical power unit which avoids these disadvantages. It consists of a dynamo and an air turbine and is characterized by the fact that the turbine is firmly coupled to the dynamo, the latter being accommodated in a housing with the necessary auxiliary equipment in such a way that the unit as a whole can be mounted and used.
The unit can advantageously be used for lighting purposes, in which it is provided with a lighting fixture and is carried out as a transportable whole, whereby the electricity generated can still be stored, using at least one accumulator, and the electricity fluctuations can be compensated for using a controller and the flow back of the current through the relay is prevented. The accompanying drawing illustrates two exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention, respectively intended for locomotives and for stationary lighting.
Fig. 1 shows the lighting unit for locomotives, seen from the front; Fig. 2 is a side view of the same; Fig. 3 is a schematic section on line A-B of Fig. 2; Fig. 4 shows the unit mounted on a Loko motifs; Fig. 5 shows the unit for stationary lighting.
A hexagonal housing 1 in section, which is advantageously made of cast iron, has a cell-like division on the inside. This housing is closed on the back and is hermetically sealed on the front by means of a screwed-on cast cover.
A recess in which a headlight 2 is located is provided on the upper part of the housing. A handle 3 ge equips to carry the unit by hand. A direct current dynamo machine 5 is arranged in the interior of the middle cell 4 in such a way that its shaft lies true to scale in the longitudinal axis of the unit. This shaft 6 is provided at its front end with a pinion 7 which works with a gear wheel 8 together.
The gear wheel 8 is mounted on a shaft 9 which is mounted in a cross bar 10 of the cell 4. The shaft 9 protrudes through the cover and carries an impeller 11 at its outer end.
On either side of the middle one. Cell 4, two cells 12 and 12 'are provided which contain the accumulators that are used to store electricity. Below the cells 12 and 12 'two smaller Zel len 13 and 13' are provided, which serve to accommodate the current regulator 14 and the relay 15, respectively.
The openings necessary to guide the fable are provided in the cell walls. A rotary switch 16 and a step switch 1.7 are attached to the outer side of the housing 1.
The unit, which is attached to the front of the locomotive, for example, works as follows: The air pressure caused by the movement of the locomotive sets the impeller 11 in motion, thereby driving the shaft 9 and the gear 8. The pinion 7 engaged with the gear 8 is set in rapid rotation, as is the shaft 6 of the dynamo 5. The current generated by the dynamo reaches the rotary switch 16 by means of a suitable conductor, which, depending on its position, allows the following combination: 1 The light bulb of the headlight 2 is fed directly; 2. The batteries are charged and at the same time feed the light bulb of the headlight; 3.
The light bulb of the headlight is only fed by the accumulator, the dynamo runs empty or stands still; 4. The accumulator is being charged and the bulb does not burn.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the unit is rotatably arranged on a stand and is provided with an orientation wing for the purpose of always keeping the air turbine in the strongest air pressure direction. The electricity generated is used to feed a lamp attached to the top of the stand.
Further, not shown execution forms allow the use of the subject of the invention for the lighting of ships, motor vehicles, aircraft and railroad cars.
