Process for the production of non-dusting, easily spreadable calcium cyanamide fertilizer. The extremely unpleasant property of calcium cyanamide to spread caustic dust when it is scattered makes it difficult to use it in agriculture.
According to the present invention, this problem is remedied by intimately mixing finely powdered calcium cyanamide with finely powdered silicophosphates produced in a pyrogenic way. The latter can in a known manner, for. B. hen by Glü or melting mixtures of raw phosphates with lime and silicates, z. B. calcium silicate, alkali silicate, alkali salts and silicic acid, or stones containing potassium silicate, are produced.
It is particularly advantageous to subject both substances to fine grinding together. In this way, on the one hand, an extremely intimate mixture is achieved, which has the consequence that the slightly dusting components of the calcium cyanamide are enveloped by the specifically heavier phosphate dust. On the other hand, joint grinding saves grinding costs because the relatively hard phosphate clinker acts on the softer calcium cyanamide particles as grinding bodies, which means that the mill can achieve a considerable increase in output.
In contrast to other suggested additives, the addition of the silicon phosphates does not cause any decomposition of the calcium nitrogen, so that no loss of valuable nitrogen occurs; nor are substances added to the calcium cyanamide, as is the case with the known mixing with quartz sand or dolomite, which are not plant nutrients and therefore reduce the fertilizer value of the product and at the same time cause packaging transport and distribution costs for substances that do not benefit the plant.
In the present process, on the other hand, the additives themselves form valuable fertilizers, and the product offers the particular advantage of providing the plant with its most important nutrients at the same time, because the fertilizer available contains nitrogen, phosphoric acid, possibly potassium, alkaline lime and calcium aluminum silicates, all of which - Lent substances valuable for plant development or soil cultivation represent. The product is free from acids and harmful components.
As a result, this mixed fertilizer is a new type of, part it preferably contains parts that are only from the plant, respectively. their excretions, but not dissolved by water, is suitable as a storage fertilizer.
Finally, the new fertilizer is characterized by the fact that its components are completely indifferent to each other as well as to the packaging material, so that it is easy to handle during manufacture, dispatch and technical operations in agriculture . hardening cannot hinder its usability, nor can nuisance occur through the development of poisonous grass.
