Description

Electric heating body. The present invention relates to an electric heating body, consisting of a metal casing, in the form of a belt, enclosing an electrical resistance and intended to surround a kitchen utensil, characterized in that its ends are fitted with a. closure device shaped so as to maintain .the heating body constantly applied against the walls of the kitchen utensil.

The accompanying drawing gives, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.

Fig. 1 is a front view; The fi.g. 2 is a plan view. The metal casing made up of two parts, one inner, 1, the other outer, 2, serves as a casing for an electric resistance suitably electrically insulated from parts 1 and 2, but connected to contact plugs 3 and 4 This metal casing is intended to surround a kitchen utensil, shown partially at 5, -in fig. 1.

The ends of said tape are provided with a device comprising a support 6, fixed to one of the ends of the tape and a support 7 fixed to the second end of the tape. To the support 7 is fixed the end of a coil spring 8, carrying at ea second end a cylindrical part 9, terminated by. an insulating sleeve 10. The cylindrical part 9 is provided with grooves 11 which can be made to penetrate a notch provided on the side of the support 7. The support 7 is also provided with an insulating sleeve 12.

Suppose we want to use this electric heated body. The cylindrical part 9 will be released, e idu.support 7, which has the effect of facilitating the introduction .d'un - cooking utensil, a saucepan for example, in the metal belt.

Then the ends of the heating body are brought together by making one of the grooves 11 penetrate the notch provided on the side of the support 7. Finally, the contact plugs 3 and 4 are joined with a source of electric current suitable for the electrical resistance contained in the tape.

During .du heating the metal casing, expands which could have the effect of forcing it to .sent away from the utensil which it turns, .but, thanks to the .spring 8 joining its ends and urging them to move closer to one another, the heating body is kept constantly applied against the walls of the kitchen utensil. By maintaining this contact continuously, it is possible to obtain regular heating and prevent the heating body from unexpectedly separating from the kitchen utensil.
