Description
Wellblech.
Corrugated iron. With many objects that are made from corrugated sheet, it is often necessary or at least desirable to bring the edge of the sheet at the two corrugated ends in the straight shape. This object has been achieved in various ways, in particular by cutting open the ends and soldering or welding the sheet metal tabs together with or without inserting special sheet metal parts.
According to the invention, the non-wave-shaped edge line is formed by squeezing the sheet metal waves.
In the drawing, two execution examples for the subject of the invention, and a tool for its production are Darge. 1 shows the cross section of the corrugated sheet metal on which the drawing is based, the corrugations of which are assumed to be sharp-edged in order to be able to more clearly illustrate the sheet metal in elevation (FIGS. 2 and 5).
According to the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 to 4, of which FIG. 2 shows a view from the front, FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the upper sheet metal edge and FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal section, the corrugations are folded over at the edge and squeezed together in folds straight upper edge a is moved here, for example, in the central plane MM of the waves.
According to Fig. 5 to 7, which also illustrate the front view, top view and longitudinal section ver, the waves are squeezed at the edge a in pocket-shaped, symmetrical double folds, the upper edge lying in a plane T = T, which is tangent to the waves of the sheet . Between the edge a and the beginning of the wave-shaped part of the sheet a smooth, even-pressed piece of height f is inserted.
Other types of folding at the sheet metal edge are possible and result from what has been described so far: The shaft termination according to the invention can be produced by a press die formed according to the desired termination shape, with or without a die. Such a stamp for producing a sheet metal edge position according to Fig. 5-7 is shown in Figs. Ss and 9 of the drawing. The punch itself is designated with c and the sheet to be processed with b, while instead of a die, a smooth plate d is used. In the punch c there are the cutouts e that correspond to the sheet metal shape.
