Turbine hydraulique.
La fig. 1 est une coupe verticale d'une pre mière forme d'exécution; La fig. 2 en est une coupe horizontale suivant la ligne 2-2 de la fig. 1; La fig. 3 est une coupe verticale d'une forme d'exécution avec le même type d'éjec- teur que dans la fig. 1, mais comportant un tube de décharge rectiligne au: lieu d'un con- duit, (le décharge courbe comme représenté a, la fig. 1; La fig. 4 est une coupe verticale d'une forme d'exécution avec conduit de décharge en forme de volute;
La fig. 5 est une coupe verticale à plus grande échelle représentant plus clairement un mécanisme pour commander une vanne coulissante combinée avec les ouvertures de l'éjecteur; La fig. 6 est une coupe horizontale d'une turbine comportant une vanne rotative pour l'éjecteur, la coupe étant faite suivant la ligne 6-6 de la fig. 'i; La fig. 7 est une coupe verticale de cette turbine à vanne rotative La fig. 8 est une coupe horizontale sui vant la ligne 8--8 de la fig. 9;

Hydraulic turbine. The present invention relates to a hydraulic turbine for injecting water directly into the discharge of the turbine to produce an ejector effect on the motive water actuating the turbine wheel.
According to this invention, an annular ejector with adjustable water passage is arranged immediately below the turbine wheel receiving the driving water and at the entrance of a céclrarge duct, this ejector communicating with the chamber. water inlet of the turbine, serving to pass part of the water from it directly into the discharge duct, immediately below the impeller (the turbine, and being combined with a valve which, in the closed state, establishes at the ejector an annular wall following that of the discharge duct.
Preferably, the discharge conduit is set up to gradually increase in cross-section from its inlet to its outlet, so as to cause a gradual and continuous decrease in the velocity of the water in the outlet. turbine wheel at the start channel. The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, some embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section of a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section along the line 2-2 of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 is a vertical section of an embodiment with the same type of ejector as in FIG. 1, but comprising a rectilinear discharge tube instead of a conduit, (the curved discharge as shown in a, Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a vertical section of an embodiment with a discharge duct. volute-shaped discharge;
Fig. 5 is an enlarged vertical sectional view more clearly showing a mechanism for controlling a sliding valve combined with the openings of the ejector; Fig. 6 is a horizontal section of a turbine comprising a rotary valve for the ejector, the section being taken along line 6-6 of FIG. 'i; Fig. 7 is a vertical section of this rotary valve turbine. FIG. 8 is a horizontal section taken along line 8--8 of FIG. 9;
Fig. 9 is a vertical section of another embodiment, comprising another form of mechanism for controlling the valve. All the embodiments shown are of the vertical axis type and comprise a single wheel discharging into a discharge duct, at the inlet of which there is an annular ejector with or adjustable water ejection openings.
In the turbine of fig. 1 and 2, 1 designates the water inlet ring, rigidly embedded in the concrete block 2 forming a foundation; 3 denotes the guide vanes and li the mobile wheel of the turbine.
5 denotes the discharge duct which runs from impeller 4 to the end point of discharge into the downstream water shown at 6. This discharge duct gradually increases in cross-section from its inlet port to its port. Release. Near the upper end of the discharge duct is placed the ejector box 7 which has two upper and lower walls with an annular duct 8 between them and vertical ribs or vanes 9 connecting these walls and forming a series of water ejector pipes.
These blades 9 simultaneously support the weight of the turbine and the generator and part of the weight of the building, this load being received by the inlet ring 1, and carried by the blades 9 on the ejector box and by this sweating the concrete block 2. The vanes 9 are curved so as to adapt to the direction of the water which arrives inside the ejector through the shaped water inlet chamber. volute 10 (Fig. 2) and delivering the injection water to the discharge duct with a tangential velocity component around the axis of the turbine appropriate to the direction of the water delivered by the impeller.
(instead of these curved vanes, one could also simply employ closed interlocking bolts, letting the water follow its natural spiral path). The blades of the ejector are preferably located immediately below each guide vane of the inlet ring so as to support the weight transmitted by these vanes following direct vertical lines.
11 designates a fixed ring, the internal surface of which follows the discharge duct 5. hntro this ring 71 and the ejector box 7 is arranged a sliding annular valve 12, the lower end of which is bevelled. as seen at 13, so that it matches the curvature of the lower wall of the conduit 8. This valve 12 is provided with consoles 14 (FIG. 5) to which are linked bars 15 which are each connected. , by means of a connecting rod 16, to a right angle lever 7 fixed to an oscillating shaft 18, this right angle lever being mechanically connected to the piston rod 19 of a hydraulic piston motor 20 (the any desired type controlled by pressurized water or oil.
Valve 12 is shown in the fully open position. The dotted lines in FIG. 1 show it in the closed position, and it will be noted that when this valve is closed, it extends the discharge duct in some way (so as to ensure the best effect for a high efficiency of the turbine. The irregularities in the contour of the annular wall which remain at the ejector when the valve is closed are simply those which are, made necessary by a thickness (the suitable metal of the ring 11, which can: be sufficiently low so that it has no appreciable effect on the operation of the turbine.
The construction details of the valve mechanism are shown more clearly in fig. 5 which is drawn on a larger scale. In this figure, there is also @repr é- a typical means making it possible to remove the valve 12 without disturbing the entry ring or the fixed parts .de l.'eject.eur. By unbolting from the part 21 the lower support plate, the guide vanes 22 and the ring 11,
these components can be withdrawn by passing them upwards through the inlet ring 1 and through the pit of the turbine, after which the brackets 14 connected to the valve can be dismantled and the Exhibit 21 which is made up of several elements. The valve can then be removed by passing it upwards through the inlet ring 1. According to the drawing, the discharge pipe 5 is cast in the concrete shell.
In the construction shown in FIG. 3, the ejector is of the same type as that already described, but the turbine comprises a straight metal outlet tube 23, also of increasing cross section. The other parts of the turbine and ejector have a construction similar to that already described and it is not necessary to describe them.
In the embodiment, figs. 6 and 7, the turbine ejector is combined with a rotary annular valve.
In this embodiment, 24 designates the inlet ring, 25 the guide vanes. 26 the movable wheel, 27 -designates the discharge Cie conduit and 28 the ejector box comprises the vanes 29 forming the water ejection openings 30. The rotary annular valve 31 is pierced with openings 32 intended for coincide with the outlet orifices of the openings 30. It consists of a ring which has at its upper part an annular r ebb 33 which is mounted so as to be able to rotate on a shoulder 34 formed on the ejector box 28s.
A ring 27 is located above the valve 31 and is formed by several parts 35 so that by dismantling the members 27 and 35 and the parts located above the valve, the latter can be removed upwards. through the entry crown and through the pit of the turbine in order to allow clénrontage or key repairs.
The valve 31 closes by rotating, on itself by a distance equal to the width of each of the openings 32, which, in the example shown, have a rectangular bore and, when these or vertures:

The gyratory movement of water, quay is already manifested in the inlet chamber of the turbine when this chamber has the shape of a volute, can be used to increase the gyratory movement inside the discharge pipe by shape (the volute by simply providing a direct conduit from said chamber to the discharge conduit with or without guide vanes in the ejector box.
Several forms of ejector and different types of valves as well as various mechanisms for controlling the valve have been described above. However, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown. For example, provision could be made for a valve of the type with movable or pivoting guide vanes, similar to the circular vanes provided at the inlet of the movable wheel and designated by 3 in FIG. 1, or by 25 clans in fig. i; on the other hand, the valve control mechanism could include chain wheels, combinations (levers and bars etc.
