La fig. 1 montre en élévation une partie d'une arme à feu munie d'une première forme d'exécution du dispositif de visée; La, fig. 2 montre en élévation cette même arme, sur laquelle le dispositif de visée a été amené dans une position différente: Les fig. 3 et 4 montrent, à plus grande échelle, respectivement en vue de côté et en vue de face, le système optique et ses moyens de fixation placés clans la position montrée par la fig. i;
un détail avec partie en coupe; Les fig. 8 à 11 représentent une seconde forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention, la fig. 8 étant une vue en élévation de l'ex trémité arrière de l'arme à feu, certains or ganes étant enlevés; la fi-. 9 étant une vue en bout, la fig. 10 [me vue partielle en plan et la fig. 11 une coupe, à plus grande échelle, d'une variante;
Sighting device for mutilated firearms with a slider scope. The key object of the present invention is a sighting device for firearms provided with a slider rear sight, which comprises an optical system presenting. reflective surfaces, and keys means for keeping this system back key the sighting member of the slider rear sight so that it allows the pointer to carry out the aiming with precision while remaining in a position at which it either completely. concealed.
The appended drawing represents, by way of examples only, three embodiments of this device.
Fig. 1 shows in elevation a part of a firearm provided with a first embodiment of the sighting device; The, fig. 2 shows in elevation this same weapon, on which the sighting device has been brought into a different position: FIGS. 3 and 4 show, on a larger scale, in side view and in front view respectively, the optical system and its fixing means placed in the position shown in FIG. i;
Figs. 5 and 6 show the key the same way as in figs. 3 and 4, the optical system and its fixing means placed in the posi tion. that shows the fi.- ,. 2; Fig. 7 shows, on a larger scale.
a detail with part in section; Figs. 8 to 11 show a second embodiment of the object of the invention, FIG. 8 being a view in elevation of the rear end of the firearm, some parts removed; the fi-. 9 being an end view, FIG. 10 [a partial plan view and FIG. 11 a section, on a larger scale, of a variant;
Figs. 12 and 13 show respectively. in elevation view and in front view, a third embodiment of the key object of the invention.
In fi. 1 to Î, 14 designates the board of a slider increase; 15 the gold cursor can. moving along the upward key plank using a rack and pinion system, another slider being able to slide along said plank, against which it is held by friction. using a spring 17.
The cursor 16 is arranged so as to be applied against the upper edge of the cursor 15, it is provided with an arm 18 directed towards the rear. A. the free end of this arm 18 is fixed a pin 19 having a square part 20 engaging in a corresponding hole made in said end of the arm 18; it is held in place by a screw 21 screwed into a tapped hole made in said square part 20.
A safety screw 22 engages in a recess made in the head of the screw 21 and is screwed into the arm 18, it prevents any untimely unscrewing of the screw 21 and secures the pin 19 to the arm 18.
In a box 23 of appropriate shape and dimensions, is mounted the optical system, for example, a prismatic block, constituting a periscope.
The box 23 is integral with an arm 21 whose free end 25 is pierced with a clean hole to allow it to be mounted loose on the axis 19.
In the axis 19 is formed a longitudinal groove 26 extended by a circular groove 2'7, of a length corresponding approximately to an arc of 90. A screw 28 with a relatively small diameter tip is fixed in such a way in the arm 24 that said tip can engage in the groove 26. By loosening the screw, 2.8, the arm 24 is released so that it can be slid. along axis 19; by tightening the screw, on the contrary, the arm is immobilized and, consequently, the box 23 in any desired position.
In fig. 1, 3, 4, the box is. fixed using screw 28 in the position it must occupy for pointing. It is seen in fig. i that in this position, the line of sight passing through the front sight and the notch of sight crosses the anterior face of the prism and is finally reflected downwards to strike the eye of the pointer whose head is. thus placed well below the danger zone; and the pointer has his hands free for maneuvering the weapon in the ordinary manner.
After the aiming, the rear sight board can be folded down as shown in fig. 2, so that it does not constitute a landmark and cannot be destroyed or damaged by enemy fire, in particular when the latter is at a low distance.
It is. then advantageous that the pointer can observe the effects of evening shooting. There would be no difficulty in making this observation if the device remained. in the position shown in fig. 1., but after folding back the board of the increase, this observation would become dangerous if means were not provided to bring, despite the folding of the board 14, the periscope in a position allowing observations to be made. To this end: the screw 28 is tightened and the box 23 is moved laterally to the groove 27; then it is rotated a quarter of a turn around the axis 19; then screw 28 is tightened again.
The device is then in the position shown in FIGS. 2, 5 and 6; and it is understood that, in this way, the pointer can easily observe the effects of his shooting.
The dimensions of the arm 18 are determined in such a way that, when the cursor 16 rests on the cursor 15, the optical system is in the desired position behind the sights. However, in some cases, the arm can be made adjustable so that a device of a single type can accommodate various increases despite slight variations in the position of the rear sight relative to the cursor.
In a similar case, one could also have recourse to means for adjusting the spacing of the sliders 15 and 16.
For example, it is possible to use a grooved plate with a curved portion, fixed to the slider 15 and in the groove of which a threaded rod fixed to the. front face of the cursor 16, whereby it is possible using a nut to adjust the spacing of the two cursors. In some cases, for example in the case of a shot executed from the top of a height, the cursor 16 may have a tendency to move. To prevent this, the slider has on one of its faces a screw 29 which, when it is tight, strongly presses the spring 17 against the side of the rear sight plate and prevents any movement of the slider as long as 'it was not loosened.
Note, however, that under normal conditions it is unnecessary to tighten this screw.
It is understood that, when acting on the toothed pin to raise the cursor 15, the latter raises with it the cursor and the periscope.
When the cursor 15 is lowered, the cursor 16 falls by its own weight or must be moved by hand. We could also resort to possibly removable means to connect the two cur sors to each other, so that the cursor 16 follows all the movements of the cursor 15. In this case, the screw 29 of the cursor 16 becomes unnecessary.
It would also be possible to give the spoke 26 formed in the axis 19 a helical shape, so that, when the box 23 is moved laterally, the latter pivots. automatically around said axis of the desired angle.
In fig. 8 to 11, which represent the second embodiment, 30 designates one of the handles with which the firearm is fitted: 31 designates a rod of suitable shape and terminated, at its lower part, by two projections 32, 33 having between them a sufficient space to allow the passage of the rod connecting the handle to the weapon.
A screw 34 makes it possible to tighten said sail lies on said part. The projection 33 has at its end a raised edge 35.
It will be understood that when the rod 31 is fixed on said part by tightening the screw 34, it is immobilized, and thanks to the special method of fixing adopted it cannot. no longer move, despite the jolts produced by the shot. Is mounted on the rod 31, so that it can slide along it, a box 36, which can be brought and fixed in any position approprica slll. said rod using screw 37.
The optical system constituting the peris cope is; arranged in the example shown, to deflect the line of sight downward at an angle of 601. But of course, the optical system could be arranged to deflect the line of sight in any direction and any appropriate angle.
Although the box containing the periscope is not arranged, in the embodiment in question, to move at the same time as the cursor provided with the target notch, it is understood that said box can be moved along the rod 31, when necessary, so as to bring the optical system in line with the line of sight. However, in practice, for shots at close range. for which devices of this kind are of the greatest interest, it is unnecessary to change the position of the optical system often.
It has been found that, for a distance variation of several hundred meters, the aiming can be carried out without modifying the position of the optical system along the rod 31.
In fig. i7, which shows a section, on a larger scale, of a variant along line 11-i.1_ of FIG. 10, we see how the projections 32 and 33 are fixed. to the part connecting them. gun maneuver handles, this figure also shows additional means which can be used in certain cases to prevent any untimely loosening of the device. For example, one uses a plate 38 pierced with a hole such as. screw rod 34 can pass freely through it.
This plate 38 comprises a re edge 39 folded down, and made so that when the screw 34 is tightened on the part connecting the maneuver handles to the weapon, it protrudes downwards below the projection 32 and partially close the opening formed between the projections 32 and 33 to allow the aforesaid part to be engaged between them.
The device established according to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 to 11 can be used both for pointing and, when the magnifying glass has been brought to its non-use position, for making observations.
In some cases, the rod 31 can. be provided at its lower end, it clans the vicinity of this end, with an articulation allowing the device to be folded down and to be applied against the weapon when it is not required. not be used, for example when moving the weapon.
Instead of having recourse to a screw 3i, for realizing the box containing the periscope on the rod 31, one can have recourse to a certain number of holes or notches formed at appropriate intervals along the rod and at a stud subjected to the action of a spring and a head allowing to act on it, and arranged so that, under the action of the spring, it is. obliged to engage in said holes or notches and keep the box in place.
In some cases, instead of the device shown in Figs. S to 11, intended for. be hooked to one of the handles (the weapon or the bar connecting this grip to the weapon, we can adopt a bridge connecting between them the two handles or the two bars which connect them to the body of This bridge can be flat, or of any section - and it can be curved or not.
It is. arranged to support the rod por both the optical device in a suitable position behind the staff.
The rod can be arranged to slide along said bridge. and be fixed there in the desired position according to the construction of the weapon. The rod can also be arranged so that it can be folded down against the bridge when it is not. in use.
The bridge can. be fixed by any medium duel to the grips of the weapon. He can. for example, having loopholes at its ends or having a suitable shape to engage with the grips of the weapon.
Means such as springs, screws (pressure or clamping claws can be adopted to hold the bridge in place.
In some cases, fixing the bridge can. take place by unscrewing the capes of which is. provided the top of the handles (in cases where the latter are hollow to contain oil or something else), then engaging the ends of the bridge. on the handles and then replacing the capes.
In other cases the bridge may be extensible and provided with a spring tending to press its ends out or in and these ends can be made to engage with the bars connecting the handles to the body. of the weapon, accessory means added as needed to consolidate the whole.
In any case, the bridge will be arranged so as not to interfere with the levers of maneuver. It goes without saying that the optical system could also be. be carried by a rod, or equivalent device., fixed to the butt or to any other part of the weapon and this, so that the periscope is maintained or can be brought into the desired position with respect to the sighting system.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 72 el 13, we use a part 40 arranged so as to be able to smooth on the upper face of the slider 15; said part can- ê, \, re irrimobilized é. using the locking screw there.
This part supports the, box 4? containing. the optical system via: Tus ale 113; a screw 44 allowing delila.c r angularly a small amount of said box. However, in some cases, the box can be attached directly to part 40.
In this embodiment, the part 40, e moves as if it were part of the cursor 15. The optical system placed in the box 4? is arranged to deflect the line of sight downward at an angle of 30. _1u the link to have recourse to a rigid part and to fix it by means of a screw, one could have recourse to a sort of envelope of elastic material embracing the slider 1.5 and supporting the box containing the optical system.
We could also make this part in two parts connected together by any suitable means, such as bolts, and agt itcée so as to embrace the cur- =: etrr 15.
Ait binds (i to fix the device carrying the optical system to the cursor 15, oit to bind it to rest against said cursor, oit may have recourse to means arranged (the way to slide said device, or to fix it to the arm in which is provided the notch of iiiire, these means being made such that they maintain the clear optical system the desired position behind the notch of uiire.
The device (is the subject of the invention is not limited to those of its forms of execution described above but can undergo various modifications of detail without going beyond the scope of the invention.
