Description

Glutaminsäure 1 Atom Brom, J- Atom Caleium und1 Mol.

Process for the preparation of an alkaline earth salt of gltitainic acid. It has been found that the caleiumsa17 of glutamic acid with caleium bromide provides a compound that crystallizes well, which is characterized by easy water solubility, pleasant taste, very high content of therapeutically valuable substance and perfect air resistance.

It is expedient to proceed in such a way that the solution of glutamic acid is mixed with calcium bromide or a mixture of glutamic acid and hydrobromic acid is saturated with calcium carbonate.

Example: A solution of 147 parts by weight of glutamic acid in 1000 parts by weight of hot water is saturated with 55 parts by weight of calcium carbonate, after the undissolved calcium carbonate has been filtered off with an aqueous solution of 105 </ B > Parts by weight of calcium bromide added and evaporated.

The compound is deposited in coarse crystal crusts which, after evaporation is as complete as possible, are sucked out sharply and freed from excess bromine calcium by washing with 50% alcohol.

The substance dried at 90-100 Q forms a white, weathered salt mass that is completely . air-resistant. It contains 1 atom of bromine, J-atom caleium and 1 mol. Of crystalline water per 1 mol of glutamic acid. Your solutions show a neutral reaction and a pleasant taste.

One can also proceed in such a way that the mixture of glutamic acid and calcium bromide is saturated with calcium carbonate and evaporated.
