Description

Device for the elimination of lead sulphate in accumulator batteries. As is well known, the formation of lead sulphate occurs in accumulator batteries that remain in the ent charged state for a long time, whereby the resistance of the battery is significantly increased.

For systems with more automatic charging voltage. Limiters, such as those for train lighting, this increased resistance of the battery has the consequence that the highest charging voltage is reached immediately and as a result the charging voltage limiter reduces the voltage of the dynamo so that no more charging current can flow into the battery. Elimination of the lead sulfate by overcharging, d. H. by continuously acting charging current, 'is therefore not easily possible in such systems.

The present invention relates to a device which even in such accumulator systems provided with a self-acting regulating device allows the lead sulfate in the battery to be eliminated by means of a continuously flowing charging current.

This is achieved by the fact that with the help of an automatically closing auxiliary contact, the amfiere win (lungszalil of the voltage limiter located on the DyrianiospanrirmL ;, held at a smaller amount and thereby a reduction of 1)

y nominal voltage is prevented by the charge voltage limiter until the (continuous charging current) stops the lead sulphate in the battery from disappearing and as a result.

can reach such a value that it opens by means of a relay (do auxiliary contact, so that the aniperewindings of the Laclesparinungsbegrenzer virken in full amount and a reduction of the dynamo voltage by the charging voltage limiter can take place.

For the sake of clarity, the parts of the rule set are omitted from the drawing as they are not essential to the present invention.

In parallel with the load voltage limiter, a winding stand 1V is connected in series with an automatically closing contact.

This contact is opened by lever A, which can be pivoted about point P, as soon as charging current flows into the battery from the dynamo. The core of the solenoid S is magnetized so tightly that it pulls the lever A.] KI-ii down.

As long as the charging current of the lead acid in the battery remains below this value, the oil value A.

Instead of connecting the resistance IV in parallel to the total number of turns of the coil U, only a part of these windings can be bridged by a correspondingly smaller resistance.
