Device for removing lead sulphate in accumulator batteries.
As is known, occurs in accumulator batteries; which have been in a discharged state for a long time
Condition remain, the formation of lead sulfate, increasing the resistance of the battery
is increased significantly. For systems with an automatic charging voltage limiter, such as
For example, those for train lighting, this has increased resistance of the battery
with the result that the highest charging voltage is reached immediately and consequently the
Charging voltage limiter lowers the voltage of the dynamo so that no charging current
more can flow into the battery. An elimination of the lead sulphate by overcharging,
d. H. by continuously acting charging current; is therefore not in such systems
easily possible.
The present invention relates to a device, which also in such
accumulator systems provided with an automatically acting regulating device
Automatic elimination of lead sulphate in the battery by continuously flowing charging current
lets enter. This is achieved in that with the help of an automatically
closing auxiliary contact the number of ampere-turns of the connected to the dynamo voltage
Voltage limiter kept on a smaller amount for so long and thus a
Reduction of the dynamo voltage is prevented by the charging voltage limiter,
until the continuously flowing charging current causes the lead sulphate in the battery to disappear
has brought and as a result can attain such a value that it is by means of
of a relay opens the auxiliary contact so that the ampere windings of the charge voltage limiter
act in full and a reduction of the dynamo voltage by the charging voltage limiter
can be done.
Erfindung als beispielsweise Ausführungsform derselben dargestellt.-In the drawing is the circuit for a device according to the
Invention shown as an example embodiment thereof.
Hier bezeichnet D eine Nebenschlußdynamo mit einem Feldregler R. Durch
Schließen des Schalters H wird die Akkumulatorenbatterie B
an die Dynamo
angelegt.
Here D denotes a shunt dynamo with a field regulator R. By closing the switch H , the accumulator battery B is applied to the dynamo. The coil U of a charging voltage limiter is connected to the terminals of the dynamo i $ t with the interposition of a resistor T , which adjusts the field regulator R in a known manner under the influence of the increasing dynamo voltage. The parts of the control device used for this purpose are omitted from the drawing for the sake of clarity as they are not essential to the present invention. In parallel with the coil U of the charging voltage limiter, a resistor W is connected in series with an automatically closing contact 0. This contact is opened by the pivotable lever A as soon as the charging current flowing from the dynamo into the battery magnetizes the core of the solenoid S so strongly that it pulls the lever A downwards. As long as the charging current remains below this value due to the lead sulfate present in the battery, the lever A is raised by the spring G. held so that the charging voltage limiter U can not come into action. Only when the lead sulphate deposited in the battery has been removed can the charging current reach such a level that the lever A is attracted by the solenoid S and thereby the number of ampere turns of the charging voltage limiter U is brought to its normal value, so that the charging voltage limiter is activated after charging can kick. Instead of connecting the resistance W in parallel to the total number of turns of the coil U, only a part of this number of turns can be bridged by a corresponding resistance I.
