Process for the preservation of Alkalil) erh-arbonateu. The invention relates to a process for preserving alkali percarbonates, in particular sodium percarbonates.
The alkali percarbonates produced by known processes showed very great instability, both in solid form and in the form of solutions, for which reason the percarbonates could not be used in technology up to now. Our attempts to produce durable percarbonates also initially led to failures. Both technically and chemically pure raw materials were used.
Care was also taken to ensure that no foreign bodies, which could have a decomposing effect on the percarbonate, could reach the reaction mixture or the finished salt.
Since, despite all these precautionary measures, it was not possible to obtain durable percarbonates, it had to be concluded that they are either themselves decomposable or that the decomposition is already initiated and kept going by such small amounts of foreign bodies that whose analytical proof is impossible.
The surprising observation has now been made. that it is possible to influence the resistance of the solid percarbonates to a high degree favorably by stabilizers, and it was also found that the effects of the stabilizers that make them more durable are also due to the permanent misalignment of percarbonates with a <B> '</ B> change fabrics,
For example, on the mixtures customary as detergents and lead inlays, and also on solutions that contain active oxygen in the form of percarbonates.
On the basis of this knowledge, it is possible to produce valuable, effective washing and bleaching agents which contain a percarbonate as an oxygen trite instead of a perborate.
In general, the addition of very small amounts of stabilizers is sufficient in order to achieve the durability and Ltt-ei-best, "iiidi" -l time of the per-carbonates.
The invention therefore has nothing to do with attempts made by others to protect perborate against the effects of the atmosphere by coating it with larger amounts of other substances, for example silica.
The incorporation of the protective substances can take place during the production of the percarbonates. However, they can also be added to the finished salts and, finally, the procedure can also be such that the pearl carbonates are stabilized both during their production and afterwards their manufacture incorporated. <B> - </B> In certain cases it is advisable to use several stabilizers, e.g. B. to use inorganic and orcanische stabilizers.
For example, one proceeds in such a way that one is during. the production of percarbonates of organic protective substances and, after their completion, adding organic protective substances.
For example, silicates such as magnesium silicate, alkali metal silicate and magnesium alkali metal silicate come into consideration as protective substances. Other salts, especially magnesium salts, e.g. B. MagnesiLimehlorid, have proven to be good stabilizers. Examples of organic protective substances include gum arabic etim.
The protective substances can be added as such, but they can also only be added in the presence of the percarbonate, respectively. of the Pei, carbonate image udgsgemisebes <I> produce </I>.
One can, for example, proceed in such a way that a small percentage of magnesium silicate, or alkali metal silicate, or chloromagnesium or --3lagnesitiinalkalisilikat, or a -llagiiesiuiiisa12; plus alkali silicate and then the carbonic acid is stored in a known manner with cooling to the sodium stiperoxide. Likewise, in other alkali per carbonate production processes, e.g.
B. from alkali carbonate and hydrogen peroxide, proceed.
The protective substances differ in their 'effect. Some bring about a better shelf life of the solid salt, while like others increase the shelf life of the percarbonate lists in a special way. In order to achieve both effects at the same time, it is therefore advisable to use different protective bodies in suitable cases. For example, you can proceed in such a way that you add your reaction mixture chlorine magnesium and then add your finished salt to gum ai-abieum.
After it has been found that the shelf life of the percarbonates can be influenced in an excellent way by stabilizers, it is a matter of trying out the appropriate protective body, respectively. determine the possible combinations of these.
In the scientific literature, a distinction is sometimes made between real percarbonates and hydrogen peroxide <B> - </B> addition products. As can be seen from the previous examples, the invention extends to peroxyd carbonates in general, regardless of the method by which they have been obtained and what constitution they have.
