Machine for brewing coffee. The present invention relates to a machine for the preparation of coffee infusion, of which the appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment.
Fig. 1 is an axial vertical section thereof; Fig. 2 is the frontal elevation; Fig. 3 posterior elevation; Fig. 4 and 5 show in section and in perspective a container intended to contain the coffee powder, and FIG. 6 relates to a detail.
The machine shown bores two superimposed chambers. the lower chamber A which contains the fireplace and the boiler; the upper B, oir are housed the filter and the accessories; the latter is closed by the cover C.
The lower body A is formed by a casing 1, of section decreasing from bottom to top, in which is mounted a frustoconical container 2 intended to contain water and inside which is housed titi container 3 of more limited diameter and height. , where the coffee infusion is collected.
In the boiler .2 immerses a pipe 4 intended to carry water to the filter and which does not reach the bottom of the container itself, to prevent the latter from emptying completely. On the bottom of the container 3 is connected a pipe 5 leading to the tap 5 'for drawing off the coffee and on the bottom of the container? A pipe 6 is connected, with tap 6 ', for the discharge of the water remaining in the boiler after the end of the operation.
Taken from the top of boiler 2, a channel 7 terminates on the outside with a titi valve 7 'and through which the steam formed in the boiler can be discharged, as well as a channel 8 with valve 8' , intended to regulate the water level. The boiler cover is finally provided with a clear nozzle 9, for the introduction of water, closed for example using a screw cap.
The container 3 is closed at the top by a cover 10 into a hole of which is normally screwed a funnel 11 which can be used to pour the water into the cart 2 through the mouth 9.
Above the funnel 11 and in the body B is mounted a frustoconical sheet metal container 12 having a perforated bottom 12 '(fig. 4 and 5) and an annular projection 17 near the edge to form support for the dispenser which consists of a perforated disc 13 provided with a peripheral wall on its edge, and in the center, with a conical appendage 15 of which. the wall is similarly perforated (fig. 6). This distributor thus closes the container 12 and with the cone 15 penetrates .dans the mass 16 of coffee powder which is arranged inside the container 12.
The body B comprises a cover C and in the closed space which results therefrom opens a small pipe 18, possibly provided with a gripping head pierced with small holes and descending along the body B. A portion of the pipe 18 is shaped as coil to increase the resistance to the passage of a fluid and opens to the outside at 20. In the same space between the cover C and the part 13 opens a pipe 4 'forming a prokngement of the pipe 4 to which it is connected by a screw connection 21. Said pipe has a funnel connection 22 with the aid of which it is possible to add water to the boiler 2 without having to resort to the mouth 9.
The lower portion of the body 4 forms the drill which, in the case shown, comprises a grid 23 and a door 23 ′ for heating with wood or charcoal; it could also be formed by a gas fireplace or by an electric heating device. In the base will finally be made openings 24 for the draw and the body .4 is supported by small feet 25.
In the casing 1 is fixed a sleeve 26 to which is connected the chimney 27 on mounted by a cover 28, and this sleeve 26 is located at a certain distance from the top of the body t1 so that the gases hi. 'i- @' eni (! urge longer in the .ul, ericüre of the body itself.
The cover C is connected to the body B by means of pivoted nuts 29 and the body B is connected to that 1. by means of lan staples 30, so as to allow the quick and easy installation. assembly of the machine as well as its disassembly into its various elements which can be handled using the handles 31 and 32. For its transport on the back of a man, the body -l comprises rings 33 and hooks 34 which can be be hooked on two straps 35.
To start up the machine, which is assumed to be dismantled, we first introduce water into the boiler 2 by putting it in place. funnel 11 over mouth 9 and pouring water until it discharges to. through the 8 'tap, which must be left or green. In this way, we always introduce the necessary volume of water into the boiler without paying special attention.
The mouth 9 is then closed with its stopper and, after replacing the funnel 11 on the cover 10, or) climbs onto the body 13. that B in which the receptacle 12 has been introduced with the charge of powdered coffee; the appendix 4 'is finally connected to the pipe 4 using the connector 21.
By leaving the tap 7 'open, or is warned of the moment when the water begins to boil in the boiler 2, by the fact that a little steam comes out of said tap. This is then closed and the steam pressure located above the water level forces it back into the pipe 4-4 'where it is poured onto the distributor 13-15. As, because of the peripheral wall 14, the water cannot flow out, it will pass into the container 12, part through the holes of the disc 13 and part through the holes of the cone 15 entering the mass of coffee, so that this mass is reached over a fairly large area by hot water and is completely exhausted.
The coffee descends through the 12 'drilled bottom and collects in the container :) where it is kept hot by the water and the air which are enclosed in the boiler 2. When the water has descended into the boiler directly up to the level of the lower mouth of pipe 4, the steam enters the latter and, reaching the space above the distributor, exerts a compressive action on the dough, freeing it from the infusion and drying it.
The steam also enters the pipe 18 despite the resistance that the latter opposes to its passage because of its small section and its coil shape - the continuous discharge of steam through the outlet 20 therefore constitutes the signal that the operation is finished.
If, to prepare a quantity of infusion greater than that allowed by the volume of water that the boiler 2 can contain, he wanted to repeat the passage of water over the mass of ground coffee introduced beforehand into the receptacle. '; the additional quantity of water can be introduced into the boiler 2 tt through the mouth 22 connected to the pipe 4.
The machine described allows good use of the heat of the fact. that the container for the infusion is. housed inside the receptacle containing the hot water and it ensures exhaustion with simple and automatic means. complete with coffee powder, while its special construction makes it possible to be transported to any locality as well as assembly and use, in the countryside, without any difficulty.
