Description
Procédé pour la préparation de dérivés trinitrés des crésols. La présente invention a pour objet un procédé pour la préparation des trinitrocrésols par la réaction connue de l'acide nitrique concentré sur les dinitrocrésols. Ce procédé se distingue cependant des procédés connus jus qu'ici et dans lesquels la réaction est faite en présence d'acide sulfurique, par le fait que la nitration est effectuée sans emploi de cet acide en traitant les dinitrocrésols par un mélange d'acide nitrique concentré saturé d'an hydride nitrique<B>N205.</B>
On opère le mieux en maintenant la tem pérature au moins au début, inférieure à 40 0 C. L'opération peut être faite sur chacun des dinitrocrésols pure; elle peut aussi être effec tuée sur des mélanges de dinitrocrésols, en particulier sur les mélanges obtenus par l'ac tion du peroxyde d'azote sur les crésols en présence d'un liquide indifférent servant de dissolvant d'au moins un des corps réagis- sants.
Si l'on veut opérer la séparation des divers isomères obtenus, on peut utiliser les solu bilités dans les dissolvants organiques usuels.
Voici à titre d'exemple de quelle manière on peut exécuter ce procédé: 8,2 parties en poids d'un mélange de di- riitrocrésols sont mises en réaction avec 14 parties en poids d'un mélange d'acide nitrique concentré et d'anhydride nitrique comportant 70 % de NOs H et 30 0% de N20,. La masse en réaction est d'abord maintenue à basse température, ne dépassant en tout cas pas 40 0; puis on chauffe sans toutefois dépasser 100 0 jusqu'à ce que la réaction soit terminée. On sépare les produits de la réaction par de l'eau et on obtient 7,7 parties en poids de trini- trocrésols.
