Fig. 4 zeigt in vollen Linien die Drauf sicht des einen Kupplungskopfes I, in strich- piinktierten Linien Teile eines mit ihm im Einkuppeln begriffenen Kopfes 1I, Fig. 5 einen wagrechten Schnitt jenes ersten Kupplungskopfes mit bereits entlaste tem Ventil kurz nach Beginn des Einkup- pelns, und Fig. 6 einen ebensolchen mit offenem Ven til nach Beendigung des Einkuppelns;
Ist der Kupplungskopf IL gleich wie der beschriebene I ausgebildet, so werden, um die Schlauchkupplung zu lösen, beide Köpfe zugleich an den Lappen t erfasst und daran hochgehoben; hierbei findet eine relative Drehung der- Köpfe in umgekehrtem Sinne als beim Kuppeln statt, das Ventil wird also durch den Kolben e allmählich gegen seinen Sitz hin bewegt und zuletzt darauf gepresst, also in die Schliessstellung versetzt, und nachdem dies geschehen ist, erfolgt, und zwar erst nach einer weiteren relativen Drehung der Köpfe, deren Trennung. Eine Schliessung des Ventils durch willkürliche Drehung der Kupplungsköpfe, zum Beispiel bei Schlauchbewegungen der Schlauchleitung, ist völlig ausgeschlossen;
Hose coupling with lockable passage, in particular for air pressure and air suction brakes. The present invention relates to a hose coupling intended in particular for air pressure and air suction brakes with two coupling heads which can be rotated against one another and a lockable passage. At least one coupling head is provided with a rotatable closure cap with which a rotating spindle provided with a steep screw thread is firmly connected.
The latter engages in a nut which is displaceable in the same head and which carries a valve, the seat of which is located at the passage of the head in question after the head to be coupled (the opposing head). If when coupling the cap is rotated by means of a locking arm attached to it through a projection provided on the counterhead, the valve is forced into the open position, in which it remains as long as the hose coupling is not connected to one of the cap, outside the Area of the opposing head is lifted at an orderly hand lever,
the valve is then placed in the closed position and the heads are uncoupled. Conveniently, the valve on the Xiitter of the rotary spindle is held with some play so that when the nut begins to move, the valve previously pressed onto the seat is initially relieved, with pressure equalization between the spaces above and below the valve.
The accompanying drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
4 shows in full lines the plan view of a coupling head I, in dashed lines parts of a head 11 which is engaged with it in coupling, FIG. 5 shows a horizontal section of that first coupling head with the valve already relieved shortly after the start of the coupling pelns, and FIG. 6 shows a similar one with an open valve after the coupling has ended;
Fig. I is a front view of the coupling head I and shows in dash-dotted lines parts of the head II at the beginning of the coupling; Fig. 2 is a cross-section along line A.-B of Fig. 5, and Fig. 3 is a similar cross-section along line C-D of Fig. 6.
The (-xelrziuse a 'of the coupling head 1 with your coupling extension v', your sector-shaped abutment rv 'and the nozzle <I> x </I> for the hose connection corresponds to the main view after the formation of a normal head of the usual hose coupling an air pressure cylinder, with the exception that at the passage d after the head to be coupled Ir, your opposite head,
behind because for sealing against the latter serving ring y a valve seat z is arranged, which can also be attached un difficult in ordinary coupling heads. The place of the cover nut on an ordinary union head takes a here in the housing a. ' firmly screwed cylinder c, which strips on the inside two guide b has and the valve seat.; with middle on this latter provided webs z 'holds down.
A piston-shaped nut e is displaceable along said strips b, which is provided inside with a nut thread and on the end face facing the valve seats z with a pin 2c, on which the annular valve o is held with some play in the following way: on Pin 2 ″ r sits a nut qu, which is kept slightly smaller in diameter than the inner diameter of the valve and un th is provided with some laterally protruding lugs n that engage under the valve.
The high-helix thread <I> g '</I> which is attached to a turning spindle g engages in the nut thread of the nut e. The rotating spindle g is rotatably mounted in a disk fastened to the cylinder c and is firmly connected to the bell-shaped closure cap 7, the edge of which grinds on the front edge of the cylinder c. The closure cap 7c has an arm j running parallel to the axis of the cylinder c and a laterally protruding arm j. Hand lever serving rag t provided.
The end of the arm j protrudes when the head II is coupled to the coupling head 1, in the area of the management of the coupling extension v 'full I serving abutment tv "of the head II, -which so as a drive member for the movement and subsequently used for locking (blocking) the arm j.
After the two heads I and II have been rotated by a certain (small) angle relative to each other around the common Abe when coupling, the abutment iv "of the head II comes into contact with the arm j of the head 1 and the latter begins to rotate further of heads to take with you.
In the same way and at the same time, the abutment tc 'of the head I actuates the corresponding Arrn (not shown) of the head Ir, in the event that this is designed essentially the same as I. The directions of movement of the two coupling heads are indicated in Fig. 2 by feathered, oppositely directed arrows q 'and q ".
The movement imparted to the arm j by the abutment tr. "Is transmitted through the locking cap k to the rotating spindle g; as a result, the nut e is inevitably shifted along the guide strips b. Right at the beginning of this shift, the pressure of the nut e on the Valve o and then stops.
Through the resulting gap between the nut and valve and through an annular gap between the nut m. and air then flows through the inner wall of the valve; there is therefore pressure equalization between the inlet and outlet side.
In the further course of the engagement, the heads <I> I </I> and <I> Ih </I> go from the relative position according to FIG. 2 into that according to FIG. 3; In this case, the housing a 'with the cylinder c and the nut e continues to rotate in the direction of the arrow q', while the closure cap lc with the rotary spindle g by means of the abutment of the counter-head Il be actuated Arm j continues to rotate in the direction of arrow q ".
After this movement has ended, the valve o is completely lifted from its seat (FIG. 6). Through the coupling process itself, passage d is necessarily opened, and this state is safe under all university stands, even with the greatest vibrations of the hose line in which the hose coupling described is connected, as well as if the vehicle coupling breaks and the hose coupling breaks maintained.
The possibility of pressure equalization between the inlet and outlet side of the coupling head when coupling and uncoupling, which is created by the loose connection between nut e and valve o, also comes into its own, for example, when vehicles are attached to a train that is ready for departure and their brake air line is depressurized; the rapid filling of the latter with compressed air creates an annoying noise-causing blow.
If the coupling head IL is designed the same as the described I, in order to release the hose coupling, both heads are grasped at the same time on the tab t and lifted up on it; Here a relative rotation of the heads takes place in the opposite sense than when coupling, the valve is thus gradually moved towards its seat by the piston e and finally pressed onto it, i.e. moved into the closed position, and after this has happened, and only after a further relative rotation of the heads, their separation. Closing of the valve by arbitrary rotation of the coupling heads, for example when the hose line moves, is completely excluded;
it can only be done when lifting the hose coupling on the flap t, which movement the more or less rigid hoses oppose resistance.
The above-described device of a hose coupling also has the great economic advantage that existing cripple heads can easily be equipped with it, since a weighty part of these, namely the housing with hose nozzle, coupling extension, abutment and sealing ring can be used. The present hose coupling, however, also offers the advantage that each head can be easily coupled to existing hose couplings.
In this case, the introduction or Ab position of the brake air takes place in the old coupling heads by a special tap that tends to be provided on the end of the coupling hose closed on the front of a vehicle. As long as the mixed operation lasts, an employee must set this tap for the old head, while the new head is operated automatically in the manner described above.
