Method and apparatus for preserving food- The present invention is a method for preserving food, z. B. Meat, vegetables or fruit in raw, pre-cooked or cooked to stand, whereby a vacuum is generated in the container used to preserve the goods, so that the lid is pressed against the container under the influence of atmospheric air and so the goods are evacuated Space is preserved.
The drawing shows a device for performing the method in an exemplary embodiment, and it shows: FIG. 1 a front view of the same, FIG. 2 a section along the line dA of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a plan view of FIG. 1 and 4 show a detail in section in connection with an auxiliary device.
The housing 1 is connected to the air pump 3 by means of duct 2, on which the support arm 4 and the pump lever 5 are arranged. 6 is an 8-shaped bridle that extends towards the upper end of the housing and the pumps The housing 1 is closed at the top by the cover 7, which with the bead 8 engages in the correspondingly designed space of the housing 1.
For the purpose of better sealing between the housing and the cover, the sealing ring 9 is inserted between them. The guide body 10 -is screwed concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the cover in this and serves to guide the one end with a head-like end 11, the other end with your made of an elastic material, for. B.
Rubber, existing foot piece 12 provided pusher 13. For the purpose of airtight seal, the seal 15 pressed into the guide body 10 through the coupling nut 14 is provided. 16 is a tap that connects the interior of the housing 1 with the outside air when the throttle is open.
Closing members 17 are provided on the bridle 6, of which only one group is shown in the drawing. In the closed position, the cover 7 is pressed against the housing 1 while the seal 9 is compressed. 18 is a vessel, for example made of glass, 19 is the associated lid and 20 is a sealing ring made of elastic material between the vessel and the lid. 21 (Fig.4) is a multiple curved flat spring.
The method for preserving food in the raw state can be done with example as follows: The goods to be stored, z. B. raw meat is placed in the vessel 8 and the lid 19 is placed on this after attaching the sealing ring 20. Then the thus closed vessel 18 is inserted into the housing 1, the lid 7 is firmly closed using the organs 17 and after sleep - ', eii of the cock 16 by means of pump 3 in the housing 1 and in the vessel 18 vacuum is generated.
The vacuum achieved can be made visible, for example, by a vacuum meter arranged on the cover 7. After a sufficient vacuum has been achieved, the pusher 13 is pressed on by pressing the button-like end 11 and the valve 16 is opened. The air entering the housing 1 presses the lid 19 firmly onto the vessel 18 so that unintentional opening and the access of air to the goods to be stored are prevented and the locked goods can be stored for a longer period of time.
For the purpose of opening a vessel closed in this way, it is brought back into the device after the flat spring 21 has previously been placed on it in such a way that its ends rest against the seal 20. A vacuum is then generated in the housing 1 until the lid 19 lifts off the vessel 18 under the action of the ends of the spring 21, in that the latter is placed between the lid and the vessel, compressing the seal 20.
After deactivating the air pump, the valve 16 is opened and the vessel with the lid lying loose can be removed from the housing.
