Electric igniter. The object of the invention is an electric igniter.
It differs from other known electric igniters in that it comprises a body which can be held with one hand and from which two contact pieces emerge which must be connected to the two poles of an electricity source and which 'one rubs on a metal receptacle of the fuel in order to obtain sparks which will ignite this fuel.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the igniter. Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a partial longitudinal section taken at <B> 90 '</B> from the first; Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section of the second embodiment; Fig.4 is a partial longitudinal section, made at 90 to that shown in fig. 3.
According to fig. 1 and 2, the igniter comprises a tubular casing a, made of material, insulating or not, of metal, cardboard for example, and provided at its two ends with plugs bc key forrne cylindrical-he-spherical, made in insulating material; in wood, for example; the envelope and the buckles constitute the body mentioned in the introduction. In the lower plug b are secured the two contact parts d e formed by metal wires projecting on the outside.
relatively rigid; steel, nickel for example. The wire (l is permanently connected by a wire f to a terminal g which is carried by the upper plug c and to which ends one of the conductors h 'of urr cordon lr connected to mid lighting network alternating or direct current With the upper, curved end of the other wire, e.
can come into contact with a conductive elastic blade i, made of steel for example, in relation to one of the ends of a resistor <I> j </I> which is mounted on a plate <I> ira </ I > made of insulating material and the other end of which is connected to a terminal k to which the conductor h 'of the flexible cord h is attached; the pla that m is secured to the plug c by means of a rod embedded in it. The blade i is brought into contact with the wire e at will by means of a pusher n, the first of which is provided and which passes through an opening in the casing a.
Suppose we want to light a gas kill coming out of a metal burner constituting the receptacle, that of a gas stove for example.
To do this we take the light in one of the two hands, which is easy thanks to its cylindrical shape and its dimensions; and the pusher) z is pressed with one of the fingers of this hand, so as to put the wire e in relation to the conductor h2; one of the wires is applied to this burner represented schematically by a line o while maintaining the other at a small distance from it and the first is made to slide on said burner: in other words, the two wires are rubbed on that -Here: during this friction, a key series of strong sparks is produced which ignite the combustible mixture escaping from the burner.
The resistance j can be replaced by a liquid resistance, by a powder resistance, a mixture of carbon and silicate key for example.
The second embodiment (fig. 3 and 4) is intended to be connected to a very low voltage circuit, a ringing circuit for example supplied by a battery of batteries <I> p. </I> The wire < I> d </I> is connected as before to one of the poles of the source p by the conductors f and hl, while the file can be put in relation by the mobile blade i with one of the ends of the winding of a self-induction coil q,
the second end of which is connected by the conductor h2 with the other pole of 1r. The coil q comprises a magnetic core r, made for example of iron wire.
When, after having pressed the push-button w, the two blades of e are rubbed on the metallic burner which one wishes to light, a series of successive closings and openings is produced, known as the circuit; thanks to which extra-currents arise and give rise to sufficiently strong sparks, because of the coil q, to ignite the combustible mixture.
In the two embodiments described; the pusher <I> a </I> and the mobile wool <I> i </I> can be omitted. The burner may not be that of a gas stove: it may be, for example; that of a gasoline-powered blow torch; instead of the fuel mixture escaping fully prepared from the burner, only one of the components can exit it and the mixture is formed at the outlet of this burner. The receptacle may also not be constituted by a burner.
The electric igniter according to the invention is. simpler than other known electric igniters in which the sparks are obtained by means of a special switch; the latter is formed by itself in effect pal the two contact parts and by the metal member of the burner; therefore it is drunk market.
